I am going to have to make this quick, my internet has been *horrible* for the last 3 weeks. It is working at this very minute but who knows when it is going to drop out. My computer isn't set up with wifi so I can't use my cell phone as a hotspot like Caitlyn does. Thank goodness that she can do that because otherwise, it would be impossible for her to get any of her work done.

I am actually going to post/edit this thread to be on the safe side. So if things look weird on my end, (weirder than I usually am!) that is why and I hope to be back as soon as I can.

Besides the frustration of the internet issues, my day was mostly OK. I got three windows covered although Caitlyn's has to be redone/ I am running out of the shrink wrap and it is so thin and kept ripping on me. I used a ton of tape to hold the pieces together but in a very haphazard and extremely unsuccessful manner. I was calling it a Franken-Window which is a compliment to it. I can't even look at it without being ashamed. LOL
Ray's appt was... ok, I guess. The vet took a bunch of blood ($200 worth. :faint: ) but doesn't see anything alarming - her color was good, abdomen felt fine, even though she is stumbling a lot, she knows where her feet are. She is adding another anti-inflammatory and if her organ functions are ok, she can be on that long term. She has lost another pound so we are going to add some rice to her diet as well.

Other than that, I guess we are about as good as we can be. Everyone is feeling a bit cooped up and on edge. Bound to happen.
Today is more of the same.

Wishing all of you a fab day!

Trudy- how was the weather for you, were you able to go on the hike? While I was waiting in the car at the vet, it was snowing here! Nothing stuck but it was crazy to see.
You are doing great on your calendar pages, did you do any more? I am in such a terrible scrap funk. It's like I am creatively empty. YKWIM?

Kay- Yikes, no wonder you were out of breath, rotating the mattress on your own.
A few weeks ago, Gary started a family shared google doc of how to do things around the house in case something happens to him. Not a happy prospect but probably handy just in case. I should tell my family where all of the bills and banking info is on my computer too.
whew, that is a relief that your placards came, one less thing to worry about. Gary got his in last week too.
It was way too cold to be outside yesterday, 27*. maybe today will be a bit warmer.
I am soooo happy that you are feeling better! :whoo:

Cheryl- you are really getting closer-- the final details are coming down! How is it all looking? You must be so excited when you get up there and it looks like more house than construction!!
I can post the recipe for the treats if you want. It is very easy, just time consuming since I double the recipe.
The regular recipe is 2 cups oats, ground up fine. 1/2 cup sweet potato, mashed, 2 Tbsp coconut oil, and a few Tbsp of water.
I throw the sweet potato in the microwave and while that is cooling, I throw the oats in the food processor. Add the potato and oil and mix that. Then, slowly add the water until it holds together. Roll it out, cut it into bites with a pizza cuter. Bake at 375* for 20 minutes, rotate the pans, and then another 15-20 minutes. You want them to be crispy enough that they don't get moldy. I put about half of them into the freezer so they stay fresh longer.

 to all of you!

Good morning ladies. Been busy puttering around the house these last few days. It helps to keep our minds off COVID. Still no change at hospital for Mike but hopefully we'll get good news soon. His poor wife Bonnie was taken to Emergency a few days ago, she stopped eating and didn't take her insulin. She was delirius and weak so had to be admitted. Now she's home but has to be checked to make sure she's eating. Krystal is getting groceries, cooking meals and leaving it downstairs outside her sliding door.

Jen re-organized the freezers. I ordered rectangular glass containers to store frozenfoods in the freezer. The goal is to stock up on spaghetti sauce, meatloaf, meatballs, chicken/sauce, chili, etc so it'll be easy to grab one to reheat in the oven for dinner. We were storing in freezer bags before but its too easy for them to slide around, get pushed to the back, etc so with stacked up glass containers with labels, it should be much easier.

Started watching the new season of FTWD and binged 3 episodes last night.

Chris - we have a Cuisinart toaster oven/convectionoven that is an air fryer too. I have one and so does Jen so we are lucky to have two for when we want to AF big batches. I have a pod AF that is ok but the toaster oven one is much more convenient.

I'd better get to work now. BFN.

Good morning lovelies.

Chris, I hear you about being on edge - it's hard to not be. We went up to the house last night and were very disappointed. We thought the flooring would at least be started, but it wasn't. They had started laying the tile in one of the bathrooms, but it was just laid in and not even grouted yet. They took the wood flooring up there and we were under the impression it would at least be started, but it wasn't. Oh well, it's getting there.

Sorry you're having internet issues! That drives me crazy!

Glad you're getting Cait's room done, even if you're not happy with the windows.

I'm going to check the board now. I got an email from Momma O yesterday to check in on the Christmas board, which I did, so I'd better go see if anything else is on there. I'm flying blind on this event - I hope I do everything right. I'm so paranoid. LOL

Have a good day all. Hugs.

Morning ladies... I have be quick in here today. Meeting up with my sister who is knitting the toques for me for Christmas gifts. I can't wait to see them! I will be out the door shortly. But wanted to say hey to everyone here first. It was a long Face time chat with Heather and Hunter, well mostly Heather as Hunter was very involved with watching Peppa Pig and did not really want to talk to me LOL. Heather and the boys all got their eyes examined yesterday and Heather said the boys were both rock stars!! Very well behaved and no whining or crying or anything. She said they were perfect little gentlemen! Hooray!!!

Chris - The weather did not cooperate for my hike so I stayed home and glad that I did as I got a txt from my friend that went and she said it was gruelling and everyone was slipping and falling YIKES!! I sure hope that the upcoming Christmas Event will get your mojo working again!!

Rae - Keeping my good thoughts coming your way for Mike and Bonnie! Hopefully you will have good news soon! Nice to get the freezer re-organized, but aren't you worried that the glass might break while you are moving things around?? We also have a Cuisinart toaster oven which can cook a rotisserie chicken, but sadly it does not air fry, maybe the next one?? I really love this one though!

Cheryl - Ohh how disappointing to see the flooring not installed yet! Hopefully it will happen very soon! Don't worry about the Christmas Bash, just ask one of us if you have questions! Its the best party, so much fun!!

Ok off I go and hopefully I will get another calendar page finished today. Got my Oct one done and posted in the gallery. Have a great day everyone!

I certainly slept better last night on the rotated mattress. So much so that I actually slept in until 8:30 AM!!! Haven't slept that late in months. No fighting with covers sliding off to the side either. It has been a laid back day... haven't even gotten dressed yet. But since I am not going anywhere, there is no need to rush around. :-D I ended up resting/reading most of yesterday. Decided that I needed to take my BP and it was elevated... so that is why I spent the afternoon relaxing. Took it this morning and it was back down to where it should be. Need to go back to monitoring it daily for awhile to make sure it stays down.

Cheryl, did you know that most wood flooring is usually brought to where it is to be installed and left there for a few days so it adjusted to the temperature in that area? This cuts down the chance of buckling/lifting later on. Bet that is why they haven't started your installation yet.

Chris, we were having a few internet slow-downs the other day. Couple of my kids who work on-line mentioned they were having some slow-downs, too. Now that so many places are going back to in-home-learning for schools, there is an even higher demand for the internet.

Trudy, glad you were smart enough to skip the hike with the weather so iffy.

Rae, you are smart to get containers that can stack for the freezer. I have a lot of plastic storage containers that I get when I buy the Hillshire Farms luncheon meats. They are perfect size for 1 or 2 servings of desserts/meatloaf/enchilada sauce/etc. I put a strip of masking tape on cover with what it is plus date. They are easy to stack. I wash them and reuse them. Took awhile to get use to cooking like I used to when DH was here - now I portion them and freeze them. Nice to just grab 1-2 when I don't want to cook.

Haven't done as much CT scrapping this month... so need to get busy on that. Still futzing around with my old computer - some days it has saved all the log-ins and other days I have to enter them again. Of course, I have to remember that I was down with stomach ills for several days and didn't do much at all.

Good evening, Lovelies.

Chris, thanks for the recipe. I'd love to try it when we get moved. Miss Daisy has such a sensitive tummy, but homemade must be better than the treats we buy. Plus, I'd love to say I made her treats.

Trudy, I had to chuckle about Peppa Pig. I remember when my GS Asher loved that show. It was so cute. Yes, it was discouraging to see that the flooring wasn't even started.

Kay, thanks for reminding me that the flooring has to acclimate to it's environment. That must be why they haven't started laying it yet. I'm just getting so anxious.

Hugs to all and for all to come after this.

good evening - watching football. The AZ Cardinals are playing so watching to see if they are ok. They do have a winning record. Yesterday was freezing and this morning too. It was really the first walk of the season where I notice the cold on my hands. Yesterday a doe just walked across the street by Luther and I and she was not at all distressed by Luther. I was shocked but Luther did not bark so maybe that was why she was so calm. Today on our walk a little girl saw Luther and me jay walk across the street and cutely told us to make sure we looked both ways for cars. A good parent. She was not sure of Luther as he barked at her but she calmed down when I explained he was just a big dog saying hi. I hate that Luther can scare kids. It is noisy around town as as trucks are out picking up the leaves from the streets. It is my section of the town this week. It is wonderful how much farther Luther is walking now that the weather is so much cooler. We had geese on the river today. My son and his MG brought shrimp scampi for dinner last night. It was fantastic. So sweet of them. Finally told my sons no Thanksgiving for me at their homes. They understand. With cases going up just not worth the risk.

Chris so sorry about the internet problems. Not sure what I would do if I did not have my internet. Of course my boys would not be able to work with out it. I don't even know if my phone is a hot spot. LOL. Glad the visit went well and hope the drug works well. So hard to see pets age.

Trudy sorry the hike was a bust but glad that you did not have to be on the slippery trail. Nice to read your calendar is coming along so well. I should start mine.

Rae sorry about the hospitalizations. Sending good thoughts for Mike and Bonnie to get good news. You are my organizational star! Have fun with the freezer.

Kay that is sweet that your DH liked Dr Pepper too. More people than I think is realized like Dr Pepper. And for sure it is a good trade off. I am impressed you moved your own mattress and so glad the new position helped you sleep so well.

Cheryl that is a good point that Kay made about letting the wood age for a bit before putting it down. But I bet it is hard to be patient when getting so close.

Have a good day all!

Nancy, that's so sweet that you saw a doe. I can't believe that Luther didn't bark - I think our animals just know. We've seen a doe and her 2 babies once, but haven't seen them again. I don't know what Daisy would do, but she doesn't seem to be fazed by the geese that are regular visitors at our pond. She probably wouldn't be worked up, either.

Yuck for freezing weather - it's actually supposed to get cold here, for just at night. The days have been in the mid to high 60's, which feel wonderful.

Yes, I did not know that the wood had to "age", but it makes sense. i certainly don't want it expanding and contracting after it's laid down. We're getting so excited.

Sending hugs to you.
