Good morning to *everyone!!!* I yes, I mean every one of you who reads this. I was skimming some threads on some other forums and I realize how difficult it can be to join in when everyone else knows each other so well. I lurk on those threads and I bet there are some lurkers here as well. So I am throwing the doors open and saying C'mon in!!!

I sometimes think I am a broken record but I also can't say it enough. These threads are not "mine" (although it seems like everyone misbehaves when I am not around ;) ). So if you've been here for years or just registered today, you are welcome here.

Sit down, make yourself comfy, and have fun ♥

I was very busy yesterday and was pretty darn proud of myself. I am cruising along with the shawl, I am so grateful that Eva suggested the pattern I am using. I also started prepping a challenge for December. It has been a few years since I hosted a challenge- and I am preparing 2 preview pages. Meanwhile, my November Cheery O scrapping is in the toilet. Ooops.
I have to get some cleaning done here today. There is a possibility I am having more people here on T-Day than I expected. It was going to be just my parents and Sam and Tom. I "officially" invited Sam when she was here on Tuesday b/c I had a feeling that Scott didn't say anything nor that she knew that it was always assumed that she was invited to any family things. When she said that she didn't know what her mom was doing or her sister, Caitlyn suggested that they all come here. Which is absolutely fine. Until my brain catches up with it and I get the urge to clean the house. Which is what happened yesterday afternoon. Ha! Today I am going to scrub the dog nose prints off of the windows and the coffee stains from the stairs. These are things I do a few times a year so I am actually ahead of schedule for Christmas LOL
Speaking of Christmas, Scott has to work Christmas Eve until 6 pm, grrrrrrrrrrrr. He is off on the 25th so that is good but in my kooky fam, Christmas is a 2-day holiday and the 24th is just as important as the 25th. I am sure we'll make it work. It's just disappointing. I am *dreading* telling my mom who hosts Christmas Eve. She is not gonna be happy either.

OK, I think I have blabbered enough for now. Have a wonderful day!

@LSlycord I hope that your Iowa blood keeps you warm when it gets down to 49*. Back home, you'd be putting on your bathing suit LOL
How did Shaun's appt go? Poor guy, it has to make him so miserable, not only for the UTI but the "here I go again." :(
How did the pecan cookies come out, they sound delish!!
ROTFLMAO at your dogs having conversations about you aging. Pro Tip: If they start talking about taking you to the farm, RUN!!!!

@vickyday I can tolerate some of Autumn, I do like the leaves changing, but I really dislike everything about winter. And we aren't even close to it. blech. That is too funny about the shawl that you made for yourself but had to give it to your G-DD! LOL!!!
Probably not a surprise, but by the time I trimmed the fat off the chuck roast and then cooked it, there were only about 2 cups of meat left. They will finish that in no time :D

@BrightEyes Good news that your arm is better again! That was very smart to go shopping when it wasn't too cold too. I bet you and your sister are very excited to see each other again!!
Enjoy your new books!

Vicky-- thanks for the crochet link! I subscribed to her channel. Did you and Mark have a nice lunch together? LOL-ing at the PJs in Walmart, I have seen that and it isn't pretty ;)

@bcgal00 That is too bad you didn't get a photo of the birds' staredown, that would have been cool.
Oh no! Still no blueberry muffins?? That has to have been at least a couple of months ago? It was after your cruise but before you got sick I think? Whenever you said it, it's been a while. hahahaha!!

@Cherylndesigns That is fantastic that Steph is feeling more like herself. The new restaurant sounds really neat., I hope you get to go. Enjoy the warm temps!!

xoxo

Woke up at O'dark 4:30 AM and couldn't go back to sleep! UGH!!! Tossed and turned and finally got up. Yikes... it is 20*F right now. No wonder the heat is coming on. Hope it does get up to the high 40's as I have a couple of bills to mail, pick up some reserved books at the public library (same parking lot as the Post Office) and drop off some books at the Senior Citizen Center library. That should take care of errands until after Thanksgiving. ;)

Got a call from DD#3 yesterday afternoon. Her grandson (2 years old) caught RSV at his daycare - he lives with DD so the whole family has been exposed to it. So she won't be coming down to visit with my sister next week. Last year, DD#3 caught it from him... his lasted 2 weeks but hers last over 2 months! We are hoping that she doesn't catch it this time around. I am sorry that she won't be able to visit with Sis, but glad that they knew in advance so we could avoid the possible exposure,

Need to get the laundry sorted and start on it before running errands this morning. CYL

We want a picture of the shawl-in-the-works!!! ;)
I'm sorry Scott has to work on Christmas Eve! But, at least he has Christmas Day off!
I, too, started a thread for my challenge, but I'm still clueless about what I am going to do for it exactly.

Good morning. It's only 48* here this morning. Brian has the fire pit roaring and I'm dressed in sweats so I'm pretty comfortable. It's 25* and snowing back home so I'll take this! Shaun's doctor's appointment was uneventful. He is scheduled for the CT and then the doctor will decide what to do. They are wondering if the cyst came back...if so they will need to do surgery again but a bit more extensive. Ugh... Whatever we do, I hope it fixes it this time. And, if possible, I'd like to get it done on school break. And, also, during 2022 since Shaun has reached his Out of Pocket max.

I didn't get those cookies made yesterday. I got caught up in a book and that was the most productive part of the day. Sydney FaceTimed me four different times yesterday. She is stressing and called just to be on the phone while eating and while doing some homework. She just needed someone to be "there".

She doesn't have any classes on Tuesday but she thinks her roommate does so she's disappointed that she can't come home Monday night. I told her to not stress about it. Spend Tuesday working on homework. The stress of being a college student.

Think I'll get those cookies baked today.

HA! I'm glad you liked her video! I watched one of her videos of her unboxing some yarn she purchased. She is fun to watch! Goofy.....right up my alley, LOL! ;)
Mark and I had a nice lunch. He always gets half of mine! IBS doesn't allow me to eat much in one sitting! He actually took part of his back to work with him, too! The doctor put him on Jardiance along with the Metformin he is already on for his diabetes the last time he saw her and it seems to be cutting his appetite some. He is still a big eater, however!

One of the ladies I hang out with quite a bit is always up by 5 a.m.!
So sorry your DD#3 isn't going to be able to visit next week, but it is a good thing she knows in advance of making the trip and exposing everyone!

Good Morning!
The sun is beautiful this morning but it is very chilly! 33* at 8:30 which means it probably got to freezing again last night! BRRRR!
I've started another bucket hat. This one is for my granddaughter. I want to have it done so I can take it to her tomorrow night when we go to watch her brother play basketball. I have the crown done and have started down the side. I should be able to get it done today since I have no other plans. Since Mark interrupted my PJ day yesterday I'm making today a PJ day, LOL!
I'm going to get my gratitude page done before I get started on the hat.
Ilene will call soon and want me to come to play, but I'll have to turn her down today, LOL!
Have a great day!

@faerywings I'm sorry that Scott has to work on Christmas Eve. When my mom was around, our Christmas was a two day event as well. We went to their house on Christmas Eve and had snacks and sandwiches and soups plus lots of Christmas cookies and candies. We had our gift exchange between my parents, my brother's family and ours. And my parents (mainly Mom) went crazy with gifts for the grandkids. Then on Christmas Day, we would have our own family Christmas and I'd fix a big dinner and everyone would come for that. I miss those days so much! How kind of Cait to suggest that Sam's family come for Thanksgiving. You really have raised awesome kids.

@vickyday it sounds like it's pretty cold in NC this morning. I guess that is to be expected but we still don't need to like it. Glad that Mark invited you to lunch. It doesn't seem that I often eat the whole thing anymore, except breakfast. That's ok...Shaun eats plenty of leftovers. I have some yarn boxed away somewhere with both knitting needles and crochet hooks. I was always going to learn how to do that. Maybe I'll unbox it and search YouTube. Enjoy PJ day---I love those!

@BrightEyes I used to wake up early all of the time. Now, it seems I sleep in a lot. My great nephew came down with RSV the day after we saw him in Iowa. I have a feeling that the "colds" that Brian and I brought home from there were RSV. It was pretty nasty so I'm sure glad that your DD knew in advance and could keep from spreading that to you and your sis. Glad that you are feeling better.

@bcgal00 I do love the activity you have at the bird feeder...including the stare down. LOL Hope you were able to get those blueberry muffins made. You are just so busy.

@Cherylndesigns glad that Steph is getting stronger each day. And I love that restaurant idea. Hope you get to try it! Glad that you are getting a chance to pop in each day and let us know how you are doing!

Ok ladies...I'm going to scrap a couple of pages today and make sure that I'm ready for Thanksgiving dinner. I still need to purchase the fresh stuff. And find sliced frozen strawberries in their own juice...the wacky store only had whole frozen strawberries the other day. First world problems.

Good morning ladies. Ordered dog treats to be delivered today. Need to get the car washed so might venture out later. I need to wash out the back of the SUV too, the dogs have got dirt everywhere. Not much else going on. Maybe visit friends for coffee later.

@faerywings Glad you are happy with the shawl. Jen is working Xmas too, the 24th and 25th. I think it'll be the afternoon shift but don't know for sure yet. It'll be a quiet holiday here. I've been so lazy lately but have been talking about making muffins off and on since the summer. Maybe today is the day :)

@BrightEyes Sorry to hear of the family getting sick. Hope they all recover quickly.

@LSlycord Hope the CT figures out the problem and gets it sorted out once and for all. D is waiting for his results soon. Hope you get your cookies baked (and I get off my butt and make my muffins).

@vickyday Enjoy your (delayed) PJ day today.

Remi is staring me down and talking to me. She already got me off my butt to go feed the birds, then she got me to lay down on the floor to play with her (while I do stretches) and now she wants me to go upstairs and get dressed, then sit at my desk. She is a bossy little aussie LOL.

HAGD everyone.

Good morning, all. We're doing a bit better. We went through McDonald's drive thru for dinner last night. Steph wanted a chocolate malt. She thinks she's hungry, then can't hold much. I told her I would go get some ice cream and make her malts, but I think she just wants to get out of the house.

It's 70 this am going up to only 74. Nice weather for this time of year. I got out yesterday and took a long walk - that felt really good to walk and get some sun. It was overcast, and I thought it was going to rain before I got back, but it didn't. I'm definitely going to take advantage of this cool weather today.

Chris @faerywings I agree - I think we have some "lurkers" and I wish they'd come on in and take that seat next to you that you just patted.

Linda @LSlycord hoping they figure out what Shaun's problem is. I know it's disheartening because you thought they had it fixed. They'll get it figured out.

Kay, @BrightEyes boo to waking up at 4:30. You do go to bed early though, don't you? Sorry you aren't going to get to see all of your family next week and that lung problem seems to be getting worse especially in kids.

Hugs to everybody and I'm going to wave goodbye now and go get in the shower so I will be ready for the day.

I've been able to do some scrap therapy in the evenings and have done a few of the challenges here, even though I'm MIA. It relaxes me to be able to scrap. Steph goes to bed a lot earlier than me, so I've had some downtime. Asher will be here Sunday and for the next week since school is closed next week. I'll be busier with him here, I'm sure.

XOXO
