Have I ever told ya how I hate shopping? Try Christmas shopping while in severe "female pain." I'd rather stick a fork in my eye! I freaked my mom out quite a bit too. A few times that I got those shooting pains, I guess I'd go pale and glassy-eyed. She brought me home and made me lay on the couch and drink tea. So I didn't get all that much done. 2 small gifts for Scott, 2 for Cait and a gift for my friend's 6 yo DD.

Then I also got texts from my BFF that her DS was admitted tot he hospital for pneumonia. She has had a really cruddy two weeks. Between losing power for 10 days, her dad had to be rushed to the hospital b/c he had fallen and had slight bleeding on his brain, new head honcho at work, and now DS has been so sick for well over a week, she is at the end of her rope. I wish I could help her. :(

But I guess that is life, right? Taking the good with the bad, and everything in between.....

Temptation on Thursday:
Blow off work and stay in PJ's and scrap. Nope-- even better idea. Keep Cait home from school, bring her to work so she can do the rough stuff and we both get $$$, and then scrap. LOL

Hey Chrus- shopping must have really done you in, because it is the 15th today- I slept like crap and have to go to the dentist- and then shopping. Not my kind of day.

It's well known that you're "date" challenged, Chris ... but even you can't travel back in time to the 8th November ... can you?!?!?!?! LOL

Laurie- don't feel bad, I ordered a hamburger and french fries for lunch yesterday and boy it was good!!!
But at least you get right back into the exercise-- that is awesome.

Phyllis- sending good thoughts re: sonogram. I always try to disseminate what the tech's say and drive myself crazy in the process. Its was most likely a "have a nice day" moment for the tech- but I can totally get the trying to interpret it.
So lucky that you have your shopping almost done. I am starting to put stuff in my Amazon cart, so that's a good sign right?
and woot to the 7 hours of sleep!!

Eva--- are you there, Eva!!!! :horn:
Hope you got your DVD's although we will miss you!! I wish that we didn't go crazy for the holidays, its just so much stress and the only thing I really truly want is for Gary to be healthy again.
PS: thanks for sending me that quote- I am gonna have to scrap with it for Cait!

Good thing because I am having enough trouble functioning and I see I couldn't even spell your name- oops. I feel like- It is 6:23 am do you know where your brain is? The answer - yes, but it is not working- must buy allergy pills today. I do not want to be sick on my vacation.

Some days I wish I could just slow time down a bit-- just to be able to catch up and *breathe* LOL!!!!!!

Sorry about that! But you know me... date challenged, for sure!

hey Nancy! Did it feel good to scrap again? With lights on?? :)

Trudy-- You slept good too!!! Awesome! I got my "good sleep" when I was in PA last weekend, so I am so happy to hear that is is spreading around.
How was your date night? :partywine
Can I just say how thankful I am that my kids are not little any more? Or maybe not- their taste is now into more expensive clothes/gadgets... but toys! Holy Cow!! $30 for a Barbie Doll? $20 for a small Lego set? I can't remember if I spent that much on the kids or it just wasn't an issue b/c Gary was working or what? But geez....
But yes- gotta spoil the grandkids for sure.... :)
Good for you to be able to enjoy the holiday with your Gary. We run all over on Christmas Eve and then have the fam up here on Christmas Day but I am liking Eva's idea more and more. :)

Sally- happy sewing and crafting. You know how good you are with deadlines! You will get it all done!

Time for me to head out, xoxoxo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning ladies. Shaun's birthday was yesterday. I have a 10 year old. Wow...seems impossible. Because Shaun was 4 1/2 when we adopted him, I sometimes forget how little he really was. He is growing up so fast. He got lots of presents so he was happy!

I've had two nights at home...and almost three...just dropped Syd off at ball practice Monday night and then picked her up but it was only 5 minutes away so it was easy. I could really get spoiled and used to this! Alas, it ends tonight. Shaun starts back to swimming. Tomorrow night we are going to a chili supper for my niece's basketball team. (The coach is a long time family friend.) Then this weekend, my cousin's daughter is getting married on Sat. night along with one soccer game and three basketball games.

My oldest niece works Thanksgiving so we have moved that up to Wednesday night. So a lot of cooking. But the good news is that I work today and tomorrow and then only Monday and Tuesday next week. And then five days off! I am so ready!!!

Chris, why did you mention Christmas shopping...oh no! That reminds me that also this weekend, need to get the lights on the trees outside because the weather is supposed to be decent. And we need to go tag a tree at the Christmas tree farm. We are looking for a tall one this year with the high ceilings in this house!! We will tag it tomorrow and then get it the following weekend.

And btw, Chris, when is that appointment with the gyn? Sounds like you need it sooner rather than later.

Laurie, that was a loooong day. Hope that the wine did the trick on relaxing.

Phylis, did you hear back on the sonogram? I think it is more important for the techs to have good bedside manners than it is for the doctors. Where is Clara...I'm sure that she would weigh in.

Trudy, what an incredible night of sleep. I hope you didn't pay for it last night. And was the movie as good as everyone says?

Eva, oh Eva...oh there she is...in front of the TV.

And even an appearance from Miss Susie Bluesie this morning. What a way to start the morning. Have a good day all!

I've had a text saying that the DVD's are waiting for me at the whatever-you-call-it-in-English-the-place-where-you-can-pick-up-mail-that's-too-big-for-your-mailbox. Will get it later :)

Chris? Amazon. i did all my Christmas shopping at Amazon and Fab.com. (though Fab is a little unreliable in terms of WHEN you get the stuff.) my daughter is ordering a chair to be delivered from Ikea, so i'm good. i do have to buy a case of wine for my SIL, but that's easy.

i've been working on my Christmas cards since 5 a.m. and swearing at my stupid printer. generally it's working out. now i have to cut out and mat the design i made for the front, (my little snowman page that i posted yesterday) add a little bling, and i'm done but for the envelopes. i just haven't been able to find nice cards in stores for the last few years, and i can't bear spending lots of money on junk cards. i always get such gorgeous cards from a frind of mine who lives in the U.K. WHY can't i find cards like THAT here!!?? it would certainly save me a LOT of time.

haven't heard anything about the sono yet. Chris, WHEN ARE YOU GOING to THE GYNIE???

meeting an old friend for lunch today at The Mall. we were housemates back in the early '70s and are still in touch, and we're both Grammas! that always stops me in my tracks, when i think of it. how did this HAPPEN? time. such a weird thing.

everybody, enjoy your Thursday. do something you love.

Can I say f***? Mom just called ... dad was taken by ambulance to the hospital again. They had seen changes in the EKG (ECG in English?) ... usually they don't do that. Guess he's had another heartattack or something. God, I love him, but at times - for his sake - I wish this was over. Also, mom can't take it much longer - the stress is really killing her.

Good morning! OMgosh a red breasted nuthatch just showed up in my back yard. I often have the white breasted nuthatch but the red breasted is really rare. He is such a cutie and so pretty. I think I got some good photos. Also my son and I cooked chicken francese last night for dinner. I feel every man needs to be able to cook. Also I am so excited I just have to share. I am going to France next July with my sister. My DH has no interest in France so I am taking my sister. I love watching the Tour de France and next July's race is the 100th anniversary so I am going to see the bike race come into Paris. Then we are taking a Viking River Cruise from Paris to the Normandy beaches and back to Paris. All is booked and insured. I am so excited because I wanted to see a lot of France but did not want to drive and change hotels each day so to have found a way a see France so that my hotel moves each day seems perfect. Thanks for letting me share!

Chris yes scrapping with lights is a real pleasure. Listen to the ladies and go to the gynie!

Phylis I hope you post the final Christmas card.

Eva have fun with Sully. Wonder where he is now?

Have a great day all

Morning Ozzies... I had a heck of a time logging onto the site today??? Not sure what that was all about, because I could get onto other web sites with no problem. Anyway I am finally here and can say hi to all my favorite people!! HI!!

Chris - Ugghhh Christmas shopping and with lady pain to boot!! Double Uggghh!! Hope that you are feeling better! I am going to try to do most of my shopping online this year, except for a pair of slippers for my DD as there is a place here in town that makes the most amazing slippers out of Alpaca fleece. They are so warm and snuggly!! Nice to shop local too!!

Laurie - It must have been early for you this morning, LOL love the way you spelled Chris!
Hope your head feels clearer soon!

Sue - how nice to see you here in the daily's !! You really must drop by more often!!

Eva - Oh my goodness your poor Dad!! Sending lots of positive vibes your way!! Hope everything will be alright!! Hope your mother will be ok also, your poor family has gone through quite enough already!!

LindaS - Happy birthday to your little man! They grow so fast don't they? I really hope you enjoyed your couple of nights of rest from running all over the place! Have fun picking out your tree!!

Nancy - Sure hope that your photos turned out of the Nuthatch, we don't get too many exotic birds here, lots of chickadees and I still have a couple of hummingbirds that hang around all winter. Lucky you going to France!! wish I could fit in your suitcase!! You and your sister will have so much fun!!

Phylis - Our date night was great! The movie was action packed and really good, but weather it was the best Bond Movie Ever??? Well I guess that's a personal decision. I thought that it ranked right up there with Casino Royale, but hubby did not. Looks like the Bond movies will continue, however not sure if they will have a new James Bond or not they made this one look a bit older than he really is I think in this movie. Daniel Craig is definitely the Best Bond ever!!! Hope he continues being James Bond!!
Have fun with your Bestie today!! It is weird isn't it? I work with my high school friend and we are both grammes too!

Enjoy the day everyone, I have lots to do today, getting my hair done and really have to get these calendars done too!

Eva, hope your dad is OK! This must be so hard on everyone.

Nancy, you trip sounds wonderful! I'd like to visit Paris again, but i'd have to get on. A plane....

They aren't sure yet, they've taken some blood tests to see, but they suspect he's had a minor heart attack. He's staying at the hospital over night, and we'll see tomorrow.

Just sharing a layout I did in December:

Thanks everyone for being here - love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy afternoon, all!! I'm up to my eyeballs in fun! Spent the morning at Starbucks with Lil reading Anne of Green Gables and then making my mountains of lists!! :) so fun!! (not sarcasm...i love lists!!) And I just LOVE Anne of Green Gables!! Her "scope of imagination" is exactly like my little 10yo!! They are practically twins! LOVE!!

off to sew and blog!! yipee!!!
Eva, hugs to your fam!!! praying for a quick recovery and peace for your mom!! ♥

Eva - hugs to you and your family! a beautiful page for him!

Phylis you can take a ship across the Atlantic - you do not have to fly!

Hugs Eva- well, I am finally back home from my errands- ugh 2 hours in a dental chair after drinking water on your way there is not a great way to spend 2 hours. But it is over for now. I got the new battery for my laptop, that will be nice to not be tied to the outlet.
