Good morning, O-Fam! A very happy and grateful Veterans and Armistice Day to everyone.

Wow. I have nothing to say this morning. I am texting with my brother about Thanksgiving plans and have decided that we have way too many people that get along with each other in our family. :D All of the core family and extendeds get along so trying to figure out who is going where and whose year it is to host is making my brain hurt. At least I know where I will be (ILs). I will be there with Cait and Tom is meeting us there. I won't know about Gary until that day. Scott doesn't know if he is with us or with Leah and Arlene. Typically there is some sort of "joint custody" as Caitlyn calls it and everyone tries to house-hop.
*snorts* we never felt the need to do that with her ex and his family. Big difference now. <3
I am meeting Tom's family on the 21st. *gulp* His niece is going to be there (she is 9 months old, a baby!! Hope I get to play with the baby!) and his mom and I have been communicating through the two of them that we should meet at some point. Cait and I are both nervous. She has only met his family a couple of times so she is thrilled that I will be there too. I will probably end up talking to the chickens and dog. :D I can't wait to meet Lulu. She is a Silky (?) small chicken with big fluffy hair/feathers.

I think today is going to be the last "nice" weather day for a while, it is cold now but supposed to get into the mid-50s. I am not sure if I will bother raking today, there are still so many to come down. I wonder if the oaks in the back will drop their leaves this year. They are the kind of oak that doesn't always drop their leaves, last year they didn't. IIRC, they even stayed greenish. This year they are bright yellow, looks pretty from my window.

Today is going to be a catch-up on life day. I have errands to run tomorrow and am getting my Booster vax too. I want to be prepared if I feel crummy afterward. Gary didn't have any reaction whatsoever to his booster so I am hoping I am the same But I also wasn't expecting to be so sick after #2. Better to be ready. Cait and Scott need to get theirs done too- esp Scott. (J&J).

I guess I have rambled enough.
Wishing you all a wonderful day!

@vickyday No worries if you don't come here every day! We are excited when we do get to see you.
My dad will never stop until he has no choice and I think it is better to be that way than the opposite. His family line has a crazy long-life gene. His cousin passed away a few months ago- she was 99, this is not uncommon with his side. His dad passed at 86 and was stubborn as a mule until the very end. It's hard though and I feel bad not being able to stop the aging process. PS: That is what I try to tell my mom, the more she insists he shouldn't do something, the makes him only want to do it more!!
The widows' group must be such a wonderful experience and how kind of you to go there and help. My mom is a firm believer in the "presentation" as well. I make her bonkers that I don't do that, at least not on a normal day. I seriously love the idea of canned soup in glass bowls, it has to cheer the ladies up so much to feel pampered. You are very sweet!!

@tjscraps Ooooh, Top Secret Stuff! Are you a spy? *G* Enjoy the long weekend! Are you going to spend it soaking in the hot tub?
Good for you getting a house cleaner in. I love a clean house, wish I was able to apply myself to my own as well as I do for others. LOL

Kay- It makes me so happy every time you get together with the ladies from the club. It means that you have a lot of fab friends to keep you company and make you laugh. It's important. Your Dec party is going to be fun!! When my fam did the Christmas In JulyTheme night last year, we did that0-- wrapped up "gifts" of things we had in the house. Some of the items were pretty strange (Gary gave us all LED lightbulbs ROTF!!) and some were really special (Scott regifted me one of his Calvin and Hobbes books). However, it goes for you ladies, it is going to be a super time! awesome for finding the skirt and jacket to wear too.
yes, I was able to get the winter clothes down but I am going to need some new things for Christmas. I literally lived in sweats last year :D There was no point in getting anything new, I didn't leave the house. hah
The black yarn really was the pits to work with. It is also cheap acrylic super-saver stuff so it split easily. Good thing I love her. tee hee

@taxed4ever OMG!! Your hands!!!! Seeing the picture makes mine hurt and burn. I totally get why you wouldn't be in the mood to hike with it being so cold and far. How did you do with the calendar pages? The other day I had this awesome gift idea for the family. I am doing a Bartender Basket- I will get a few bottles of the cheap stuff we drink, and I got some of the stone ice things (YKWIM?) and fund some drink stirrers with skulls on top. But to make it personal, I am going to make a cocktail recipe book- scrap some pages of the drink recipes we liked for the theme nights we did. It shouldn't; be hard but if I even want to make 15 recipes pages I better get my butt going!

laying this down right now: I am making a *lot* of my gifts this year and I know that I am going to be kicking myself the week before Christmas when nothing is finished. Please don't bring up my lack of time management and/or tendency to bite off more than I can chew when I am flipping out :D
Thanks

Trudy-- the fireplace is going to look amazing when you are done!! Don't forget to take pics of the progress for us
I am sorry that your FIL is the same way as my dad. It is so frustrating esp cuz I understand how they feel. I'd put money down that I am going to be the same. (You too, I bet *wink*)

@tanteva hope you are having a stress-free day at work and don't get too tired
I know you like the snow but I hope it isn't too messy and cold when you have to wait for the bus. I like the color combo of the doily, hope that it comes out nice for you

@bcgal00 hope that the software issues cleared up so you can have a nice, relaxing day today

@Cherylndesigns Wow!! How awesome that you are going to be making books for your cleaning lady!
Barter is a great idea for you all. It is also a great way to get word of mouth out there, she has to come across a lot of people in her job so she can talk up Ava's photography and baby clothes too
haha-- Billy Jean!!
Your aunt must have been a piece of work- on the roof at 80. wow. Sounds like my dad.
Do you watch 30 Rock? Liz Lemon has a great line about transitioning from nighttime pjs to daytime pjs. Cait and I live by that :D

Thanks for the info on the Book, Eva!

Good morning ladies. I'm tired this morning, didn't go to bed until around 2:30 and then up at 6 but then I lay in bed and just rested until 7:30. Jen called us last night at dinnertime and said she just won $46,000 at the casino. It is some kind of province-wide special random bonus that can be activated at any casino, at any time, its totally random and it happened to Jen. She said she'd give us each some money to join her and play for the night. So normally I wouldn't take her money but with a winning like that, ok, I'll take a few hundred :) So we played until almost 1:00 am and had a blast. We were up and down, never running out, then I started winning and D didn't so I gave him some of my winnings so we could carry on and by the end of the night Jen had won another $3000 and I came home with almost $2000. That is insane LOL. Jen can pay off her credit card and car loan and then bank the rest. I basically got reimbursed for my dental cost I just put out. That was a once in a lifetime memory and I'll never forget last night.

Remi is barking at me to go outside so I better cut this short. D is still sleeping so I better get her out. Just wanted to share our incredible news.

@faerywings Thx Chris. I am soooo happy for Jen. She has been stressed about B, even more than usual lately, b/c of the medication problems and behavioural changes and soon she is going back to the neuro unit for a few wks for more assessment and treatment. So this happy time was really needed for her. I'm thrilled for my win too b/c it means I got my bridge for free which couldn't have come at a better time, with D retiring and adjusting financial situation. Plus, just getting out to have a really fun night was good b/c we've been stuck in the house for so long. I'll never forget the night :)

Hello all.

Not terribly productive today - I need to get dressed and go outside. it's beautiful out and 60! I'm so out of shape because I was afraid to go walking all the time my shoulder was bad and I'm really missing it. The problem is, I'm walking on rocks and it's so easy to turn my ankle. Chuck's been so against me trying to walk again. When we moved up the hill, the road became even more rocky and it's very uneven. I get down in the dumps thinking about how much I used to walk. :(

Chris @faerywings I used to LOVE 30 Rock but haven't watched it for a long time. I need to look for it. I loved that show and all of the whacky characters that were on it. It always made me laugh. We watched a documentary last night about Liz and Richard. it was just okay. They cast Helena Bonham Carter as Liz (NOT A GOOD MATCH) and the guy (Richard) was okay. Better than Helena, at least. Chuck liked it way more than I did because the casting ruined it for me. HBC is SO not Elizabeth Taylor, try as she might. I've seen so many other actresses who played Liz - this one was out of the blue.

Your Thanksgiving plans wore me out reading them. LMBO It's always such a big job. Jordan isn't coming - just found that out. Cameron will be here, though. Sounds like you're directing a Broadway show. hahaha

I'm kind of "off" today, but isn't that great about the "bartering"? Ava's all in, too.

Waving to everybody.

@faerywings Spy/HR ... totally the same thing :p And yes, hot tub is in the plans lol

Relaxing-ish day here, we headed to the big city (Calgary) to try to get ideas for the girls for Christmas. Went to the Olive Garden for Lu-pper (Linner?), now catching up online and watching 'YOU'. Pretty good day.
