Hi my lovely O-Fam! Its sure feels GREAT to be here right now, This past week has been very disorienting, I had to really think about what day it is! The schools in WM are closed all week and Halloween is now rescheduled for Nov 5. All of my cleaning clients have been w/o power so I have been out of work all week.
All I can say is how happy that we have power and nowhere critical to drive. My BFF says that she is not expected to have power until the 9th. Her IL's live in the same town so they have been showering there.
My Parents still don't have power but have been staying with my brother who does. My dad drove up to their lake house in PA but my mom doesn't have enough gas in her car to get there. Yesterday there was only 1 gas station with gas and able to pump in town and the police had to close part of the road and the line was over 1 mile long.
And to think-- we got off *easy.* SMH.
I can't stand the news/photos of the shore. The gas fires from where houses were. And not trailers, but beach mansions.... unfreakingbelievable.
I am so grateful that my family and friends are safe, if a bit cold and cooped up. I am so grateful that the loss of life has been as low as it has been reported (even though I am sure it will go higher). I am so proud of my fellow NJ-ians and our NJ Attitude! And I am grateful that our Governor -- who I disagree with on many political issues-- is a strong character and pulls no punches when it comes to helping out the state.
I am also grateful that it is November 1 which means lots of new challenges here at the O!!!!!!!
