Last day of the busy week for me, no school or major plans tomorrow. whew!

preschool grad was adorable. Caitlyn's little boy was so cute, singing his heart out. She did great- didn't cry at all, but I know she was really sad to say good bye. Unfortunately, we did not get to stay after for the "reception" part, b/c Gary's stomach was getting really bad. We joked saying that we should go find the Attendance VP and have him throw up in front of her. hehe.

Got my shopping list sort of put together, and then went outside for a couple of hours. The side of the house is such a mess, still so many leaves from the fall.

I made a honey sesame tofu/chicken recipe for dinner that was actually good. I had to keep the chicken separate from the tofu for Caitlyn's sake which meant double pots and pans, but if it gets her to eat protein, I am all for it. Tofu is such a strange consistency, but it really does pick up the flavor of the marinade. I tried a piece and while it tasted good, it felt weird in my mouth. Scott and Cait were loving it though so this will be a recipe put into the rotation.

Great news on the car! The mechanic checked it all out, said that there was a bracket or plate that had been put on bent after I had the brakes done last year and that is what was making the noise and pulsing when I would brake. $40. Yup- that is all it cost!!! We officially have a new mechanic.

One of Scott's friend's mom called me last night- we used to be good friends, and had drifted a bit as the kids got older, but she had been Dx'd with Lyme yesterday and had a lot of questions. Scott was on his way out to her house, so I gave him a book and a DVD for her to browse through a bit. I always worry that when people are Dx's with Lyme that they see my family and think this is how it is for everyone. She was most likely bit in April so she has amazing chances of 100% recovery.

That is it from sunny and finally warm NJ. Off to food shop today than who knows? :noidea:
Outside would be nice except pain levels are pretty high ATM and not likely to get better after food shopping. And no- I have a hard time sitting reading a book outside. If I am out, I like to be working. Silly of me, I know.

Hope everyone is doing great!

I am not a fan of berries but I do like cheesecake
Today is National Blueberry Cheesecake Day! Although cheesecake recipes can be traced all the way back to Ancient Greece, the flavored versions we know and love today are a fairly recent innovation. People have come up with all sorts of interesting and unique cheesecake flavors, but today is a celebration of the classic blueberry variety.
The type of cheese used to make cheesecake has a huge impact on the flavor and texture of this delicious dessert. American cheesecakes are made with cream cheese, Italian cheesecakes are made with ricotta, and German and Polish cheesecakes are made with “quark” cheese, which is a type of curd cheese.
Blueberry cheesecake is one of the most popular cheesecake flavors. Enjoy a heavenly slice (or two) today to celebrate National Blueberry Cheesecake Day!

Oh and if I can get some good thoughts for Gary's Grandma, she is not doing good. She got shingles a month ago and hasn't been eating much at all. Because of her dementia, she doesn't express herself well. Last night we got a msg from my MIL that she was being put on oxygen and morphine. IL's are away and aren't flying home until tomorrow, so if nothing else, good thoughts that she is able to be "ok" until they get home.
Thanks!

Nancy- Happy anniversary!!!!! 42 years- that is wonderful! Sounds like you had a nice day planned to celebrate - a hike with Luther and binoculars. Perfect!
Your pages always look amazing so your "secret" is a good one!

Trudy- I shouldn't laugh, but I did have to chuckle about washing your car to bring rain. Normally that would do the trick!
*jealous* I still have my lovely grey hair and no ability to make it go away. :(
That will be soooo awesome to have the family closer to you, that will make you happy!!!

rae- OMG!!! That is hysterical about Taz at day care!!! :pound: How cute!!!!!
Hope that you got everything done that you needed to do yesterday.

Thank you all again for the crossed fingers for the car!
xoxoxo!!!

I am back. I've been running around this week and not actually getting my laptop out, but I am back today. David has a four day weekend, so today is his Friday. No big plans, but we'll be hanging out together.

Chris, good news about the car. Always good to hear a low dollar amount. I'll be sending out good thoughts for Gary's grandmother.

BTW, I actually really like tofu if it is done right.

good morning - yesterday was wonderful. We have large park - the Watchung Reservation which has lots of trails and Luther had a great time. Loved chasing the chipmunks and squirrels and just running. It was a perfect morning temps in upper 70s. We brought him lots of water and he needed it. I thought he would be out for a while but no he still wanted his afternoon walk. We were just about done when we met his golden retriever friend but all he wanted was to say hi and then he wanted home. It was warm by then in the 80s. He came home and this time he really collapsed. DH and I went to our new favorite restaurant - Ambeli a great greek restaurant. The best part is we can walk to and from the restaurant. Came home and then watched the San Jose Sharks win the Western conference championship and their first ever trip to the Stanley Cup Final. I think it is awesome and I am really hoping they win the whole thing! Today is hockey between Penguins and Llightning to see which will play the Sharks.

Chris the graduation sounds so cute! Glad you all got to attend. Your dinner sounds yummy and I don't think I will ever like the texture of tofu LOL. Awesome to have finally found the right mechanic. $40 is awesome. Hope grocery shopping goes well!

Trudy I guess some times the second day you are more sore than the first. I laughed too like Chris when you said you washed your car.

Rae love the description of Taz off to day care! Hope you are all caught up!

Cindy hi! glad you are back!

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. Had a lovely quiet evening laughing with my hubs and watching The Price Is Right, Survivor edition and Big Brother Edition. I hadn't seen that show in so many years. It brought back memories of watching it as a kid and my mom and I would try to guess prices together. As we watch both Survivor and BB, we loved seeing them on the show. Taz slept the night away, he was exhausted from daycare. Dinner was good. I'll make this again. I fried up ground italian sausage, added chopped peppers and onion, then put in bowls. Scrambled eggs to put overtop and then finished it off with a big scoop of hash browns. Yum. I didn't have any salsa verde left so just added a bit of ketchup. I love having breakfast for dinner. Don't have to leave the house today, looks like rain is coming, and I will work and putter around the house doing chores. I need to organize my office a bit too.

Chris - glad the car didn't cost a lot. As for the tofu, I too get stuck on the texture, I just can't eat it.

Nancy - sounds like a wonderful day. How nice that you have good restaurant within walking distance.

Looks like I beat Trudy here. Good morning to you and hope you have a good day.

Gotta go, ladies. Enjoy your day!

Good Morning ladies... overcast and kind of grey out today, but still not a drop of rain. I slept in this morning until 7:30 when the neighbours dogs started their barking rampage. But it was time to get up and start the day and I will not let my bad nieghbours put a damper on my day!! Swimming later on this morning and hopefully the pool is not too busy, The chiropractor straightened out my spine again and I am feeling pretty darn good today! I still have a slight ringing in my ear, but it is not as bad as it once was! Hoping that Nancy's friends were right and that it will eventually just go away!

Chris - So glad that Cait did not fall apart at the pre-school grad, sounds like her little guy is real cutie pie!! Too bad that you had to leave early though and yes you should have had your Gary throw up all over the Attendance VP!! I would have paid good money to see that!!

Hope you can get outside and get the mess cleaned up at the side of your house today and that your pain levels are better by the time you get out there!! Sad that your friend has been diagnosed with Lyme Disease, perhaps she will be one of the lucky ones to get treated right away and will make a 100% recovery!! Sending lots of positive thoughts to Gary's grandma!! Shingles can be so horribly painful!! So much worse that she has dementia and can't express herself very well!! Poor thing!! Oh and Blueberry cheesecake day!! Yum!!! Blueberries are so good for your blood cells!!

Cindy - Nice to see you here again, hope you enjoy your day with your special guy!! Enjoy his long weekend!

Nancy - That park that you found sounds perfect for you and Luther!! Funny that he was too tuckered out to visit with his buddy on your second walk, I bet he slept well the rest of the day!! The restaurant you go to sound very nice! Bet you are cheering for Tampa Bay to beat the Penguins! It would be nice to see the Sharks win the cup! Enjoy your hockey!!

Rae - Ha, Ha, love that Taz gets so excited about his day care visits!! What a personality he has!! Hope that you were not too bogged down with work and you got to get out for awhile and enjoy the sunshine!

I am sad that I did not get to go on my hike yesterday, but happy that I got my hair done and it is a good colour once again, lots of low lights this time as the sun had really bleached my hair quite blonde! Oh and I booked my flight to go to see Heather and Mason yesterday, I found a really great price on a West Jet flight and so will save my airmiles for the trip back home! Can't wait to get out to help out with a few things for DD then DH will join us a week later and do some house painting and help to get everyone on the plane and back home. It should be a great summer with all the kids home again, perhaps a great time to get a photographer to take some family photos?? Any volunteers?? Hope you all have an amazing day!!

Hi ladies! I feel like I've missed so much these last couple of days - like losing an arm. I see a lot of :ranger: in my future to try and catch up. Been doing a lot of back and forth of some "issues" right now (we'll just leave it at that) and what to do. Meh. That's how I feel about it ... but shoot! No rain (Trudy, we MUST have sent it your way 'cause we've gone from rainy and 55 to sunny and 85+ in a matter of days! LOL) ... a long weekend - and nowhere to go and nobody to see! :) Bill's put dibs on the tv on Sunday (premier league or European soccer, I think) ... fine by me - I'll just set the laptop up on the back patio and scrap 'n' chat the day away! LOL
