*checks clock* Caitlyn should be back in NJ by now. Her ship was supposed to dock at 7 am. If she isn't back in NJ water, she is close. I am patting myself on the back that I didn't miss her too much. It probably helped that I was busy almost the entire time and that I texted her pictures of the rats each day. She will get to see how good they were as soon as she has cell service again.
I am disappointed in one section of the table. I used Minwax brand of stain/poly the first time around and that went on really well. Walmart and Home Depot didn't have that brand so I used the one from Home Depot, Varathane, and I am not that happy with how it turned out. It is probably user-error, in part. Two of the three sections came out really smooth, but the last one has a ton of bubbles. I think maybe I should have cleaned the brush before I started on that last section because it kept going on very thick. And my painting instincts tell me to "brush it out." Wrong! I ended up dipping the brush into the mineral spirits to smooth it out so it is definitely better but not perfect. I also used a Gloss Finish but it isn't all that glossy.
Any tips, Trudy, on how to make it look nicer?
I have nothing specific going on here today. I should run over to the FP but I don't want to have to leave the house. Not for any reason, I am just feeling lazy LOL
I need to clean up all of the drop clothes and put away the paint and stain cans today. If it dries out a bit outside, I have some more leaves that need to be cleared out of the yard and patio. And of course, I am going to want to hear all about Cait's trip.
Wishing everyone a very happy day today!
