Greetings from Alaska. What, I don't live in Alaska? Sure feels like it this morning. 34*F which is colder than it was yesterday. Cold temps bring bad news for baby bunnies. Gary called me yesterday when I was cleaning for our friend. He hadn't seen all of the bunnies, only two of the six, so he had peeked into their nest.
He was able to rescue those two and brought them immediately to the wildlife rescue where we had brought the baby mice. Caitlyn didn't know what had happened and when she got home from work, she went to the nest to see them before she came inside. Thank goodness that she did! There was one more (#7!!) in the nest that was alive. She and Gary ran him over to the rescue as fast as they could and the woman was able to get him right into the incubator and fed him liquid glucose. I was heartbroken about the 4 but very grateful that were able to save the three. The wildlife rescue woman suspects that something happened to their mama because they were underweight as well as hypothermic. They never would have survived the frost last night. Poor sweet things. I hate nature...Even before the sad news, I wasn't feeling all that good, I was exhausted and "off."
The day was wrapping up at 5.30 with me starting to cook dinner/Whisky throwing up her dinner all over the DR/Cait coming home and discovering the bunny/Gary who took over cooking for me while I was cleaning up the DR and his blood sugar dropped into the 40s/trying to do logistics with him to get dinner and the bunny settled which- when your blood sugar is in the 40s- is quite a feat/finally having dinner at 6.45.
What. A. Day.
Well- today is a new day. Here's to making it a good (better) one!

Definitely b/c of the mother. Mothers are supposed to *protect* their children. Not abuse them. At least when I starved myself, I had *my* reasons for doing it. My mom, once she knew about it, did what she could to help me. It was often the wrong thing to do (have another bite or you to look too thin always backfired) but she wanted to help. I am so sad for Aly yet grateful that she has you all.
. Then we all went to a little pub and grabbed a little something to eat and by the time I got home it was 3pm. It was a long day of sunshine and exercise and thank goodness I brought my sunscreen along, however I still got a bit of a burn, that sun is very strong!! Today I will get the resin coat on my turtle painting and after a couple of days I will be able to get it to its new owner. Other than that not much going on here, so I will attempt to get another layout done for one of the challenges.
yes Nature can be cruel!! Glad that you got them to the rescue place! Sounds like you did not have a very good day yesterday! I hope that today is much, much better!!
Sending lots of good vibes your way!
