Daily Ooos: Thursday, May 15

The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Hey O-zies!! Happy Thursday to you all. Is the sun shining by you today? Not here, not again. I think it has rained more days in May than in the previous few months put together (probably an exaggeration but that is what I do best). The sump pump is running again, too and I don't want to think about the water in the basement.

You'll be proud of me, I took my time and didn't hurt myself when I was cleaning yesterday. I asked my friend if it was cool with her if I didn't clean the upper cabinets and she was absolutely fine with that. No ladders for me, not just yet. I also turned down a field trip invite for Friday since I have the class on Saturday and I want to do the Forest Bathing Hike on Sunday. See, I can follow instructions and set boundaries. On occasion. :rotfl:

I am cleaning my own house today-- my kitchen cabinets are awful but I am still only going to do the areas I can reach. I dropped and shattered a dish last night so I need to wash the floor to make sure I got all of the tiny shards. I don't want the puppies to get one stuck in their paw pads.

This afternoon, I have to work on plans for Monday's field trip and Tuesday's HS lesson.

That's it from me! Love to you all! ♥

We had a good ride to our first campsite. After all the rain we were expecting a soggy site but it is firm and not sand. We set up and I made a nice chicken/pasta dinner then in bed by 9:30 I was exhausted from getting ready to leave. Yesterday we toured the Kanapaka Botanical Gardens so nice I put my new camera to the test....I'm happy- pics on FB.
And you are off to a fantastic start! The Botanical Gardens must be gorgeous. You are inspiring me to go wander the NJ Botanical Gardens, they are ~10 minutes from where I live. Maybe I'll try to get there if the sun ever comes out ;)
How many nights do you usually stay at each campsite?

@JeanneMN Wow, the pre-op stuff is keeping you busy! Throw in the grands' sports events, I don't know how you are keeping up with anything.
*fingers and toes crossed that the weather cooperates for your flowers.*
My back and shoulders and legs are hurting in sympathy with yours. Sooo much yard work, but I bet it all looks gorgeous.

What was the age of your HS session yesterday? Sounds like a fun session!
I have 3 6 yos, a 7 yo, an 8 yo and a 9 yo. Three are siblings, and the 9 yo is the eldest brother. Makes it interesting!
p at 7 today. Got at the track by 7:40 and got 2 miles in by 8:20. 20 minute mile...not bad.
Cloudy again today. Lots of rain yesterday. That's why I went to the track early. I figured it would rain before I finished!
I suspect I'll be going to lunch with Mark later.
:cheer: Good job at the track!

Morning, all. I dreamed the landline phone rang at 6:15AM... nope... was a dream but it woke me up!!! I checked my caller ID and no calls had come in. Crazy dream!! I got up as I was wide awake. Need to get DD#1 up in about 30 minutes. Another busy day for her.
all of the landline stress is leaking into your dream :giggle4:
Good luck to DD#1 getting everything done that needs to be done. Hope she has some downtime to spend with you before she has to head home.

But I've been getting in reports this morning and so far all of the bridges are still there and only one tree, not too big, down. We have three little ones we put in last month that I haven't heard about, but I think they're far enough away from the main creek that they should be OK
Any more news about the bridges and trees? :praying2: that is all good.
I don't think I have ever cooked a brisket and at this point in my life, I don't think I ever will. The only red meat that I very occasionally miss is a hamburger, and it is mostly the smell that makes me want one, not the actual taste.
That is weird about the smoke alarm! Between you, Kay and the phone, and us hearing a car horn over and over on the street (Gary drove up the street to make sure no one was stuck), it was the Days of Weird Noises, ehh?? :floorlaugh:
I can't wait to see the tulip pages you make. Any in the gallery yet?
My Lyme doc hates that I work outside, but what can you do? Like you, I am as careful as possible and hope for the best.

Hugs to you all!! xo

Good Morning O Friends! I am sure that by now you have seen the post that I added in the back room, but for those not able to access that,It is time for me to say a fond farewell. I am stepping down from my duties here at the O, but will pop in to keep you all informed of my new adventures. It might not be too often, but I will try to keep coming here as much as I can. Today however I get the dreaded Shingles vaccine. On top of how awful I am already feeling lately with seasonal allergies and the covid shot hitting me like a ton bricks this should do me in for a few more days. Hopefully not though. One thing I would really like to do before I go is to change my siggie to something summery and cheerful, so its not quite time to put away my photoshop! Thank you all so much for your lovely comments in the back room, I will miss you all so very, very much you have been a part of my life for more than 17 years and it will be hard to adjust to not being a part of this amazing family! Sending you all much love and wishing you all the happiness in the world. :waving3:

@taxed4ever Oh, Trudy... you will be missed so much!! But I do understand. When my DH retired so many things changed. So go and enjoy this new phase in your life... but do drop back and in let us know things are going with you. :cloud9::grouphugyay::fairy2:

Trudy, we will miss you. I look forward to you popping in and updating us on all the fun you and Gary are having. :heartpumppink: I'm excited for you and the time you will have together. I hope you start feeling better too. All those allergies and shots sure do wreck havoc on the system.

Todays is like Chris's weather, more rain and overcast. I've read most of the comments the last two days but wasn't able to comment. My mind was on overload. Almost a fog but not. Not even sure what I did besides scan about 10 desserts into the laptop so I could scrap the recipes. Well, time to fill the coffee cup again. Have a wonderful day!

I couldn't believe it... I slept in until almost 8AM and DD#1 was already up by then. She had coffee made and muffins baking! Said that I didn't have to do ALL the cooking while she was here. Her time here is growing short... she flies out tomorrow evening. But she, her hubby and some of his family will be coming back to do more work on their son's house in a couple of weeks. It is a family labor of love to get the work done. Not sure if DD#3 will staying here tonight but think that is the plan.

Talked to Sister yesterday and she is planning on coming over for a visit in the next couple of weeks. Looking forward to seeing her in person... been about 8-9 months since we have been together.

Hope to get a LO done later on today. Have a few chores to get done before I indulge in scrapping. Had to LOL... the first night after I took the down comforter off the bed - the temp @ 10PM was 79*F!!! I even turned the ceiling fan for awhile. Last night the temp was 43*F and I was cold again!! Got my heavy wrap-around robe out and put it on top of the covers!!! Going to put a folded up light-weight blanket on the foot of the bed for the nights I still need it. :giggle4:

@faerywings So proud of you that you are being smart... no ladder climbing, etc, yet!!! Sorry you broke a dish... yes... get all those tiny shards cleaned up before the dogs get hurt.

This is a quick in and out so I can get things done ASAP.... HAGD

Yup! The water is flowing in our basement, too! No rain so far today, but yesterday we had buckets and buckets of downpours!

It's tough keeping the older ones interested and still make it easy enough for the younger ones to understand! I've had to teach Sunday school classes with a mix of ages like that!

Good evening,
Got my 2 miles in this morning and then spent the day with Ilene. Took her to a doctor appt, went to Save-a-Buck, took some creative memory stuff to my daughter, then played Qwirkle with Ilene all afternoon.

Never did get around to doing any scrapping yesterday. Spent a lot of time moving pictures around from camera and phone to EHD. I also found out that I have not done any of the Monthly Review pages this year like I thought I had! That's where I'm headed next!

Have a great evening!
