Yay for me, no "Mapril" this morning LOL!
I'm doubly proud of myself that I got the date/day/month all correct since my head spins when I think about time. I felt like I had plenty of time to get the house ready for Mother's Day but nope, it is barreling down and fast.

I got everything done that I needed to do in the morning. All the wineglasses are clean and sparkly and then........ guess what I did for dinner last night? Used the griddle right underneath them. They hang over the island and the only place where I can use the griddle is the island. I made quesadillas and they don't splatter as much as some other things but still. *slaps forehead* Not my brightest idea.
Ooooh, I can use this emoji!! :loser: Bwahaha!!!

The other excitement that happened yesterday is that I found a baby mouse in my bathroom. He was too small to put outside so Gary made a little box for him and contacted a local wildlife rescue. It was all him, I couldn't do it. I get attached and if he didn't make it I would have been crushed. BTDT. :brokenheart:
Gary and Caitlyn dropped him off last night and I was getting a little worried when they didn't come right back home. I'm surprised that my DD made it home at all. She got to see the rescues: baby possums, raccoons, and bunnies. And she got to see a baby raccoon. Gary told me that she is interested in volunteering. The thought crossed my mind that we could do it together and then remembered how sad I would be every time something we tried to save didn't make it.

Plans for today:
I am going to clean the house a little more and then head on outside!

Temptation on Thursday:
This one is easy- it is going to be close to 80* today, so my temptation is to hop in my car, get on the Parkway, and head down the shore.
Someday I'll be able to do that.

Before I forget- I saw this and thought of several of you :giggle4:

@vickyday In autumn, I rake my leaves right back into the woods. I have a small compost pile for some leaves, grass clippings, and food compost. This patch of soil that I am working in right now has been decomposing leaves for -- well over a decade. Maybe two? When we moved here (1995! *gulp*), there was a wood pile and we covered it with a tarp since at the time the house had a wood stove. That is the tarp that is buried so my guess is that it is from the early 2000s... The addition was in 2003 and that is when the wood stove was taken out. It's funny that you can see the difference in the soil from the leaves- nice and rich and brown vs the regular soil underneath which is hard and rocky.
You and Mark spoil each other- it's so sweet!
Hope that your stomach and head are better today.

@taxed4ever It is so nice to see you pop in and be *yourself* and feeling great again! Hope that the hike was fantastic

@Cherylndesigns Don't mess up your nails when you are back in the yard today! ;) I did mine on Saturday with the UV gel kit and it is still unchipped! What color did you get done? I think I am going to ask my fam to get me a nice summery color for my b-day next month.
This is the kit I am looking at: Beetles Gel Nail Polish Kit Spring Summer Colors, Dreamy Aesthetic Collection

Another quick in and out from me. Spent most of the day yesterday at Mayo Clinic. Regular visit for my heart. The echocardiogram came back showing that the aortic stenosis has progressed (because that is what aortic stenosis does) and one of the numbers is now near critical. It was at 40 last September and is now at 48 and 50 is critical. So, in the next couple of weeks they will get me in for a heart cath to check the shape of the valve and whether or not there are any artery blockages. That will help them decide what type of surgery to do.

Packing is coming along. We will move out of here on Thursday, 5/25 and move in there on Friday, 5/26. So two weeks from today. Yikes! Think that we will board the dogs. Hayden, in particular, doesn't like boarding. However, with movers being in and out here all day on Thursday and then a night in a hotel and then in and out at the new place on Friday, I think it will be better if we just do the boarding. That way they can also get groomed before they come to the new house.

Shaun is still trying to decide what to do with school/job. I've been giving a little bit of extra grace because of the chaos but I think it is probably time to start nagging again.

Sydney is enjoying Germany I think. Because of the time difference she does Wordle before me so I wake up to her shared results. Then I share mine back and we comment on who did better. Then, when she goes to lunch (which is at a very inexpensive and tasty school cafeteria) she sends me a picture of her lunch. We FaceTimed on Monday night. Miss her but glad she is having a good time. And very happy that any surgery will not happen until she gets back here.

Brian is enjoying being back in real estate but will be glad to be moved down there where he is close.

I will try to get back in here and catch up with everyone later today but I'm not sure how that will go. :grouphugyay:

That soil must be extra rich then! I always say I'm going to start a compost pile, but I never get around to it!
Yes, Mark is a great companion! I think I could really do anything I want and he would be OK with it. He is always saying to me, "I wish you would spend more time with your friends instead of sitting at home all of the time!" But, I like being home!! I wish he would do more with his friends like he used to before we got married! But he loves working in his woods, too, and his health has hindered him on all things fun lately. :(

Good Morning to all!
Nothing planned for today other than lunch with Mark and going to Bath and Body to "spend" my free coupon and then to Kohl's to spend my free cash, LOL! I'll be surprised if I come back home as rich as I am now, LOL!
Looks like another pretty day weather-wise! Mark has been feeling better but the doc gave him a different prescript than Jardiance so we will see if it affects his hemorrhoids the way Jardiance did! I pray not!
@LSlycord sounds like the packing is moving along! Glad your girl is doing well in Germany. How long will she be there? I have forgotten what you told us. Will be praying for the up and coming heart procedures! :lovey3:

Hello to everyone else who pops in! :waving1:bye2:

Good Morning ladies... It's another beautiful day and the lake is like glass this morning. I forgot to tell you that two days ago when SIL Linda and I took the Kayaks out, there had been a terrible accident on the Lake. A man in his sixties who was a member of the Maple Bay rowing club went missing. They found his rowing boat (sculling boat) capsized and he was no where to be seen. Apparently he had heart troubles and had a pacemaker so he maybe had some kind of medical accident. Anyway the search and rescue and all the other rowers on the Lake were looking for him. They even had the search and rescue helicopter out. The dive team can not be here until Sunday, so they are really hoping that his body shows up soon. It is so sad :(. We are heading out with the kayaks this morning, but hopefully they will have recovered the body this morning. Yesterdays hike was lovely, it was like being in a Jurassic world. Lots of huge trees and ferns. It was a great meandering trail that was really not far from civilization so hard to believe that the town was just over the hill a bit. Today after kayaking I need to get MIL's Mother's day card finished and I really want to get started on a page there are so many beautiful kits in the shop!! Our designers are simply amazing!

@faerywings - ohhh wouldn't it be nice to hop in the car and head to the shore! You really should do that one day!! Would your Gary like to spend the day there with you? I hope that you get all your wine glasses clean again and that you will be ready for the Mother's Day celebration at your house! Aww poor little mouse! How great that your Gary and Cait got it to the rescue place! Yes you should stay away from there, you might not ever come home again LOL. Have some fun in the sun and the dirt this afternoon, its your Happy Place!!

@LSlycord - I am so sorry to hear that your heart is in need of attention! Hopefully they will get everything right for you and I will send lots of healing vibes your way!! :sparkles1::loveangel:. Sounds like your move is coming along better now and it will be so great to get into your new digs! Nice that you and Syd are keeping in touch each morning!

Sorry ladies I have to get off of here. Heather is calling and then I am off to the Lake. Have a great day everyone! :waving1

Good morning all.

Chris @faerywings I can just see Cait holding all of those animals. Ava found a baby Hummingbird yesterday laying on the side walk at Adrienne's. She thought it was dead, but she carefully picked it up and took it inside Adrienne's house She got some orange juice and started dripping it into the baby's mouth. She said it started drinking and drank a whole spoonful of it right out of the spoon. Be the time she got it back outside, it had revived and it flew away. She's an "animal whisperer" too. I knew you'd love that story.

The three of us went to the nail salon. I finally broke down and got gel polish - I got off white and had another pedi while I was there - the others were doing both too. I get gel on my toenails now and always get white. Those gel colors you showed me are beautiful - of course, you know I favor whites and off whites, but I love the other colors. You're so lucky that you can do your own. I didn't have as good a luck because I'm such a clutch. I could never get my fingernails under the lights w/o screwing them up. They have really big ones now at the salons. Apparently I'm not the only one who's clutzy. I started getting the get pedis several months ago and do they ever stay looking nice for weeks. It's worth the few extra dollars.

That's a hoot about the wine glasses - well, maybe not funny but kind of. It's totally something I would do. DUH.

We have had more rain today - I probably won't get out in the yard, but with my gel nail polish, I should fare better no matter what I do.

Waving to everybody and Linda, sorry to hear that you heart report was a little worrisome. I know you'll be glad to get your heart cath done and glad that Syd will be home. That's wonderful that she's enjoying her time in Germany. Sending you lots of love and hugs and please don't overdo.

Vicky @vickiday, my husband is just like Mark. He doesn't care what I do and encourages me to hang out with the girls and run around with them. We've always had that kind of marriage.

XOXO

Good morning ladies. I was in bed for a few days. It hit me like a brick - sore throat, cough, stuffy nose, chest congestion/tightness, headache, body aches and fever. I slept for most of Tues/Wed but got out of bed this morning. I feel somewhat better but still have congestion and tight chest, and my body is still sweating a lot. Glad it didn't last long. I am still exhausted and will probably be back in bed a few times today but at least I'm up and about a bit now. The dogs were so good, lying in bed with me or on the floor. Remi must have been going nuts with no play time for a few days but she handled it really well.

The backyard is done. It looks great (but it should for the amount of money it cost). I got a few photos of the finches this morning as they were gathering grass/twigs for their nesting house. Looks like both houses have nests in them.

The dogs are thrilled to finally get out into the yard. Bella was the worst one (stubborn) and refused to go to the bathroom along the side of the house until she was ready to burst, she really wanted to go in her usual spot in the yard. She would cry at us and then when we took her out she wouldn't go. Glad that is over.

I watched the 3rd season of YOU while recuperating in bed these last few days. It didn't disappoint, it was just as good as the other seasons. I'm looking forward to S4 but I hear it will be the last one.

@faerywings That is so sweet that G brought the little mouse in. Enjoy getting outside in the dirt today.

@LSlycord Sounds like you have a good team to take care of your heart, the Mayo Clinic is one of the best, I believe.

@taxed4ever That is so sad about the fellow from the rowing club. Glad you are enjoying the kayaking.

I'm going to hop in the shower, take another benadryl flu tablet and try to get a few things done. I'll post a few more cruise pics on FB later. It's fun to look thru them.

HAGD everyone.
