happy almost Friday!
And we have sun! It isn't supposed to be out all day but I will take what I can get. I never made it outside for a walk, but I did wander through my yard a bit when I was out mucking around in the compost pile.
That is my big goal for today to work some more in the garden and yard. I think I should be ok to plant the pole bean seeds. And I have some seedlings that can go in pots and if it gets cold they can go in the little greenhouse.

The highlight of my day was that my sweetheart of a husband (who loves me even if I get fat apparently) brought home donuts. Dunkin Donuts now has a chocolate covered pretzel donut. Yummy!!

I paid some bills, dusted some of the kitchen cabinets, played with the rats, and cleaned for my neighbor. I got more accomplished than I expected.
Last night, Gary grilled burgers for him and Scott. I had bought Caitlyn Gardien Veggie burgers and she didn't like them since they tasted too much like meat. I cooked one up and they did taste like meat. Not too much, for me, but I could see why she wouldn't eat them. I piled it up with tomatoes and lettuce and a slice of cheese. Not bad!

Today, I have nothing on my To-Do list. Well, nothing that isn't easily ignored. I have stuff to do, I just don't want to. :)

I need to take a bath in DEET and then it will be dirt therapy time! Then, it will be Advil time! LOL

(In between all of that, I have to figure out what to make for dinner. Again!!! DRAT!!!!)

HAGD, lOves!

Nancy- good that the weather cooperated for you and Luther while the power was out, good incentive to work outside a bit. I have made couscous and no one really liked it. I ate it with falafel and I mixed some of the crispy bits into the couscous for texture.
heh, you can't even like the Rangers in the playoffs? Dedication to the Devils!
What is KT tape? I wonder if it will help my ankle when it acts up or is only for knees?
I am sorry to hear about DILs grandmother. It is always sad even when expected and understood.

Trudy- are the election results what you expected or hoped for? I like that you have more than 2 viable parties. I wish we had a better way of diversifying power so we wouldn't end up head to head on *everything.* No one is ever heard and it is more like watching a football game where there is only 1 winner.
I do have some basil seedlings I can repot for the jars, as well as the thyme and my sage outside is growing like mad. I am sure that I can snip some of that off and it will make it in the jar.
That is a bummer about your hike getting canceled especially since it wasn't raining. ;)

Rae- whoa! That is some good BOGO shopping! Not for the vitamins though - what a hassle! I can't imagine you having a potty mouth :D
I have a question for you about ketosis. One thing that diabetics are supposed to do (not my husband who says he's fine) is to test for ketones in their urine when their blood sugars are high. It is dangerous for their kidneys, and very high levels can cause ketoacidosis, which can require hospitalization.
When you talk about ketosis, is this something different than what diabetics have to be concerned with? It kind of niggles in the back of my brain when I see that word and I just want to make sure you are OK.

xoxox!!!

good morning - well last night's hockey games - there were two and both were game 7 so it was winner moves on and the loser is done until next season. The Capitals just cannot win against Penguins and that makes me sad. The Caps players needed to talk to a sport phycologist. The Ducks defeated the Oilers and I stayed up until 1am to see the end. It was close all game. The Ducks were just more experienced but there is no doubt that the Oilers will be back and other teams had better watch out. Had a nice dinner with my girlfriend. It was good catching up. The weather is going to get worse before it gets better. We are going to get lots of rain especially on Sat. But the 10 day forecast says that it may get near 80 next week. Finally! Interesting how when you get news about a death and then the next morning you find out that your son's friend just became a father. Love the circle of life!

Chris the KT tape is that tape you see on pro athletes all the time. It just keeps things in place. There are lots of videos on youtube for you to check out. Wow you got a lot accomplished. Congrats. Spread on that DEET!

Trudy I could not tell because I don't know enough about the parties in Canada but did you like the results or not? The tape is pretty cool it might work for your DH. Glad that you had such a good time with your sister. Sisters are pretty special.

Rae your new ideas for your Keto food sound awesome! Between work and food you are a busy girl! Have fun.

Have a great day all!

Good morning ladies... its raining here this morning, but the weekend looks like it will be pretty good weather wise. No FaceTime with DD and Mason this morning as Heather is seeing her OB this morning and Mason is in Pre-School. Yesterday they had Mason's first Soccer practice, she is sending me pics soon. He wore his uniform but insisted on keeping his jacket on and was running all over the place telling everyone he was "Sonic" , so even the coach was calling him Sonic and trying to get all those funny little 4 yr olds to come together to try and play soccer. I bet it was a hoot!! Anyway not much happening around here today, I should perhaps vacuum and water my house plants. Then I hope to scrap a bit some pages for my sister and a page for myself? We will see how the day goes. I am still trying to get all my scrap supplies transferred over to my new EHD, but the thumbnail previews are not showing up and I can't for the life of me figure out why?? I really do not want to have to re-do all of them again, there are way too many!!! :gaah: It would take me forever!!!

Chris - Don't fret about Rae and I checking for Ketones, it is not the same thing as what Gary has to check for it just tells us if our bodies are burning fat and not sugar. We won't be dying on you don't worry :becky: I am not really sure how I feel about the election results, our area voted in the green party so they will have one member from our area representing that Party, there are two other seats that are green, but really when it comes down to it not much power so we probably won't get much in the way of results for our area. :mmph: But change takes time and it really showed that this valley wanted the NDP gone finally!! I am not that into politics so I am certainly no expert at what goes on with it :becky: Sure hope you get to be outside today and get some dirt therapy!! Load up on that DEET!!

Nancy - I felt bad for the Oilers last night and was texting with my nephew in Australia who is a huge Oilers fan, he was so excited that they could possibly go on to the finals, but sadly that did not happen, he will be feeling very let down! I looked up that tape for DH to try and it looks really interesting, now to find out if we can get it here in Canada :noidea: Sorry that your weather is still not that great, ours isn't either right now, but hoping for warmer days a head!!

Sharon - Whew you finally get some help with the In-laws!! Hope your FIL's operation goes well, scary at his age to have any kind of operation!! Glad to hear that your Dad is doing well!

Rae - Wow good for you for all that great shopping!! I am not there yet for trying out all those desserts and things, but perhaps one day soon. I pretty much have to keep my carbs below 20 or I don't lose. I will try to up the anti when I get closer to my goal weight. I would have been really upset with the cashier too!! LOL to funny that you used your potty mouth, I do that quite often :becky: Hope you and Taz have a great day today and that you don't have to stay up too late to finish your work today! Isn't it great to be able to have better sleeps now!! I love it!!

Alright that morning cup of coffee is calling my name and then I will be checking out Rae's Pinterest Board to see what she is saving these days, thanks Rae for all the great ideas!! Have a great day everyone!!

Good morning, ladies. Taz is snoozing on the couch, exhausted after his day at doggie daycare yesterday. They posted two pics of him with a long string of drool hanging from his mouth and crazy eyes LOL. So I know he had fun! I finished getting all my chicken packaged, labeled and into the freezer. I cleaned out the upright freezer yesterday and was surprised how much outdated stuff was in there. I spent over an hour separating food/packaging for the recycling/garbage and then distributed all the meat into bins so everything is neat and orderly now. It will be so much easier to find stuff and see exactly what we have. Now I need to do the other two (fridge) freezers and my pantry but that'll have to wait for another day. I'm trying to figure out what to bring Sat morning to the trailer. I have started a list of keto foods to bring and what I'll need to buy once I get across the border. I think I'll be eating a lot of BBQ and salads. I want to search for some low carb BBQ sauce online, also parmesan crisps for salads. Can't find them here anywhere.

Chris - glad you had a good day yesterday and got in the dirt, and got donuts too! As for ketosis, it is totally safe, it is a controlled nutritional mild ketosis state. Its not at all like diabetes ketosis. The health benefits for me so far aside from weight loss is BP dropped 30 points to normal range, edema gone in ankles/fingers, energy up, sleep better, joint pain gone, back pain 95% better, brain fog reduced and the biggest thing is no more crazy food cravings that I've struggled with my whole life. I was skinny for a large chunk of my life but it came at a cost, I was miserable, constantly craving and fighting with myself to resist and binge ate in private. If D was away for an evening the first thing I would do is plan my all night snacking. That disappeared almost immediately when I went into ketosis and hasn't come back. So, don't worry, it's totally safe and healthy.

Sharon - good luck on FIL's pacemaker replacement. Glad your dad is doing well.

Nancy - how nice you got to go out with your friend. Yes, circle of life...ying/yang of losses and gains. Hard to remember that sometimes but it is so true.

Trudy - hope you are having a good start to your morning. Are you skyping this morning?

I moved my monitors a little closer to me and what a difference it made on my eye fatigue yesterday. I'm so used to my desk setup that I didn't think to question that the monitors were farther from my eyes than they should be, I've always had them pushed back, up against the far end of the desk which is quite deep. I always wanted more open desk space but realized yesterday I don't really need all that space so why not bring the monitors closer and be able to focus on them better. Silly how we get into a pattern/habit of doing things. I've had my office set up like that for yrs and now moving the monitors 10 or 12" makes such a difference.

Ok, ladies...I'm getting to work now. Have a great day.

Trudy and I were cross-posting (again). Good morning.

Chris - I'm not political and really don't have a preference for parties b/c I think they are all crooks and liars, so I never like any party.

So here's what I understand about our election.

The sad thing about the state of this election is that they probably won't be able to agree on much, it will be a short term, forcing a re-vote again in the next 1-1.5 years, with the same candidates. That just doesn't make sense to me. If the parties can't jointly rule, then new candidates should have to come in for a re-vote later. There's no incentive for them to get along and work together, they will want a new vote later, hoping they can get a majority vote next time. Ugh. I hate politics.

In a perfect world, they would all work together....but I'm doubtful of that happening.
