It might be very cloudy outside right now, but man, I am seeing a lot of green! It is like the trees got their leaves all at once.

I was in kind of a mood on and off all day yesterday but I think that I kept it under control.
I dropped Cait and her friend off at school in the morning. Her friend has epilepsy and can't drive so Caitlyn picks her up and drops her off frequently. I decide to go the to dollar store on the other side of the highway so if I need to go to the dollar store near the school I can do that after dropping the friend off. It took me a half hour just to get to the store. I was *so close* and then there must have been an accident between a U-Haul and a bucket truck. The road was shut down both ways so everyone was turning around. I had to snake my way through the back roads to get to the store. When I go there, I blanked on what I needed/wanted to get to make the gifts. But I picked up a few things and I will get started on that this morning and hope that I can pull it off.

When I got home, I had to pay bills which puts me in a worse mood than food shopping. :pound:

As I had predicted, I said screw it and I spent 2 hours outside in the afternoon, clearing leaves from another section of the yard and a small rock garden. That helped my brain reset itself. Whew!!!!

Scott seemed to really enjoy his first day at the Ecology Center. It is too bad that it isn't a paying gig. He helped a woman take a group of school kids on a hike, and they checked out plants and mega invertebrates. I think that is what he called them. at any rate, he had a blast being in the woods and the hike leader loved that he knew so much about plants and bugs. :)
He also told me a bit about his job at the garden center. yes!! He got the job!! I am not surprised since he heard about it from the manager of Eden Farms who set the interview up with the owners. He seems very impressed with this nursery and he will be working in the perennials greenhouse. It is a bit farther than his college and is hoping that he can do 4 10-hour days so he has one day a week to volunteer. And he also wants to squeeze in the 6 hours/week at his college greenhouse.

I am sad that I won't see him again for the next few months. LOL

Today, I am going to try to figure out how I am going to make this painted bottles and pray it doesn't end in a Pinterest Fail.
Cleaning this afternoon and then deal with the ever-annoying "What am I going to Cook for Dinner?" I should make that a game show. heh!!!

Have a spectacular day!!!

Nancy- it was beautiful yesterday. I still want it to be a bit warmer but in good time... I am hearing so many birls too.

Wow! That is exciting for you about the Yankees winning streak. Is there hockey tonight? Don't want you to get the withdrawals too badly.
Cait needed an alignment too- so there goes $400 from her savings account.
Hope that DHs finals week is smooth for him and not too busy. I can only imagine what some of the stories his students concoct.
Cait is ready to apply for graduation and Scott never did that so he technically doesn't have his Associates degree. She got the info for him to do that yesterday. Nice sister!

Trudy- hope that your hike/walk was fun. How exciting for your DILs friend to graduate from Harvard! Wow!
Did everything get straightened out with Telus? Gary *finally* got his test strips approved, now he is waiting for his ins. co to approve the correct insulin.

Oh-- BRB dogs need to go outside!

What is up with the formatting. Is anyone else having issues with extra spacing? Or is it just me that I am extra spacy? :loco:

Trudy- I wish that your kids could all live closer or that teleportation was available. :rapture:
Jean- so happy that you had your genealogy group meeting to give you a breather from the concerns over your cousin. How many years have you known me and I keep saying that I will try to be better about asking for help? ha!!!!

Felis- I don't make New Year's resolutions since they only became a source of stress for me. My suggestion about "doing more" (and don't all of you laugh at me since I never take my own advice) is to do more but only of the things that make you happy. Obviously, you still have to work and clean but focus more on the things that you do for yourself, playing with your cats and dogs, scrapping, reading. Time is flying so quickly that it feels hard to hold onto it. So many days go by where I feel like I am happy to survive the day but then I realize how much I am missing along the way.

I try to have a plan with meals and it never seems to work out very well. Now with both kids working and babysitting crazy hours, it will be harder. Cait asked for a few favorite meals last week but she was only home for dinner one night.

My spontaneous lifestyle is totally and 100% *dysfunctional.* I can't make it work. bwahaha!!!!

xoxoxo!!!

good morning - Finally hockey tonight! Game 7 and winner moves on and as they say the loser head home. It should be a great game as it is between two really good evenly matched teams. Then it will be a game every day during the conference championships to decide which teams goes to the Final. Had a really nice time at dinner with my girlfriend. Nothing much just talking sports and family. Her daughter went some where else with her boy friend so it was just the two of us. Her daughter is so busy being involved with two weddings and planning a vacation to Thailand. She is in love with elephants and wants to see them up close. It is so cool that she is doing this while she is still young. Team USA plays today at 10am my time in the World Championships. So that will be fun to watch.

Chris I have sun right now though they say thunderstorms around 5-6 pm. Luther and I had a great walk yesterday. The weather was so nice. That is what is so crazy about roads in NJ. You have to go the wrong way and then u turn and then a traffic jam. Makes it such a pain. Hope you get more outside time! Glad that Gary finally got the strips but oh my they make you jump through hoops! Hope the insulin is finalized soon!

Trudy the hike sounds awesome especially if there is a fun lunch afterwards. How fun to have unexpected stop overs. I saw on twitter the Norwex has donated 43,000 trees - one in the name of each person who held a party. Did this happen in Canada because I don't know this company but this is so cool! So you have a tree out there!

Jean the NY area also has the Mets. From the sublime NY Yankees to the ridiculous - yesterday the Mets in the first inning batted out of order. What major league team does this? The Mets lost 2 of 3 games to Cincinnati which had one only 8 games. LOL. I love it when the Yankees defeat the Red Sox. Have fun at the genealogy meeting!

Felis my only New Year's resolution is to enjoy each moment of the next year. I try to do that but don't always succeed. That is interesting about the sister's working together. My sister and I could do it personality wise but what we like to do the other does not! It has not gotten so hot yet that Luther does not mind the mid morning walk. But yes in the middle of summer I go earlier or late in the afternoon.

Rae sending positive vibes and hugs!

Have a great day all.

Good morning ladies! I woke up to rain this morning, but I can see a few patches of blue sky out there, so hopefully it will clear up soon! Yesterday's hike was very pretty and educational as we learned about the history of the Kinsol Trestle. I have done this hike before, but never really took the time to read all about the history and see the photos that they have posted in a little clearing just below the trestle. I laughed as one of the photos was taken exactly one month before I was born. Yikes how old am I?? :becky: The Kinsol Trestle is one of the tallest free-standing and most spectacular timber rail trestle structures in the world. Here is a link if any of you are interested... https://www.cvrd.bc.ca/1379/Kinsol-Trestle

Chris - Good for you for saying to heck with it and getting outside to do some dirt therapy! Glad to hear that it re-booted your brain and made you feel better! That is wonderful news that your Gary finally got his test strips approved! Like Nancy says, you sure have to jump through hoops to get it though! How nice that Cait gives her friend a ride to and from school when needed! She is a very thoughtful young lady! Oh and BTW the same thing happens to me all the time when I get to the store, I totally blank out on what the heck I was looking for LOL. I have gotten better for making a list on my phone though, it really helps! I hope your vases turn out awesome, I bet that they will and please post a photo when you are done! Yes everything is all straightened out with the Telus equipment and everything is working just fine again. (well for now anyway)

Nancy - I bet you are happy that Hockey resumes tonight! We will be watching also and it should be a good game between the Jets and the Predators! Hopefully the officiating will be better too! You had a nice time with your friend and I bet it was good to just be the two of you! How exciting for the daughter of your friend though, so nice that she is able to do that travelling and seeing the elephants! Yes Norwex in Canada has planted all those trees also, so I do have one or two trees out there with my name on them LOL. I hope that you enjoyed your hockey game this morning. I suppose that by now it is already over and I will have to check out the scores.

Felis - I am not one to do New Year resolutions either, except to try to be a more positive and kinder person throughout the year. I am like Nancy and just want to enjoy each and everyday that I have here on this earth. I hope that things go well for your family and working together at a new job. Sometimes change is a good thing! I hope that you will always take even a few moments everyday to enjoy something just for yourself! I am going to start a photo book today of the hikes that I have been on and try again to finally finish off the page that I have been working on and get it posted.

Jean and Rae :hello: I hope you lovely ladies are having a nice day!

I better get dressed and get this day going, swimming tomorrow instead of today, I think my body needs a day of rest before hitting the pool again. Have a great one!

We've got another beautiful sunny day. Certainly makes me feel happier. The genealogy group at the senior center yesterday was fun and I had found information for two of the people that I got to share with them. That feels good too.

Felis, I'm another who doesn't do resolutions. Some years I had a word of the year and that was sometimes helpful but didn't even do that this year. Hope your aunt gets a job she likes better, but I too wonder about all three ladies working together. Scrapping bad times isn't fun, but I had to do it and tried to make it lovely in her memory as it were. I know you will get there too.

Chris, since Cait's diet is different from the rest of you, I'd think she could fix something for herself if she turns up to eat when you all are eating meat. Just sayin'. I'm sure the time in the yard was highly necessary! I'm sure the vases will be grand and, yes when they're done let us see.

Nancy, and the Mets manager is the former Indians pitching coach, so we were surprised to learn he submitted two different lineups and batted the one different from what he gave the umps. Oh well. Anyway you've got hockey tonight!

Trudy, that trestle looks so amazing! Glad you have a lovely hike and even something new about it. It will be such a good feeling when you complete the hiking pages for the book.

Rae, good vibes for you and all.

Good morning my dears,
lovely crisp morning here. I just told you for our summer temperatures and now the Spring is back here. Yesterday's rain bring cool wave, but this is actually cool ;) because we are back to my favorite sweater weather. Something very strange happened to my skin yesterday. Maybe I'm allergic to something new or are these bad pollens again. From my nose through the mouth to the chin, at the one side of my face I have big red spot. It's not seriously but is embarrassing, because it's looks mostly as somebody was slapped me through the face. So weird?! Usually I don't use other than eye make up, but looks like now need to take something from my sister :) . Too bad because in this lovely weather I have pair new zebra pants that has planned to take out. It's small too eccentric for the style at my country, but it would be just on the right place at England for example, and they was on deal, so I told myself: ''why to accept the limits of my lokation?!'' so I just gone brave and got them. :)
Thanks for the all comments about the New Year's resolutions, they actually takes off big part of the pressure on my.

Chris, umm, I just admire this spontaneous in your life,I'm little bit disappointed to hear that it isn't much functional! I'm not spontaneous person, everything go through considering and dissection. In the books spontaneous always leads to something interesting ;) . Scott's new jobs sounds so awesome! How nice from Caitlyn side to share the drive with her friend and this is more ecological. But I just don't get it, if this girl is with Cait, but can't drive her own car, what is the problem to give the park sticker on which she have rights for your car?! So Cait and she will can go without to take from your time.

Trudy, this place is so beauty, thanks for the link! I saw on the video that dogs are allowed too, which is awesome too! At one place on the video, where person can stay on a rail trestle and it's on a level of the top of the trees, and looking around the forest and the river, reminds me so much for the Twilight scene where Edward shows to Bella his world. Did you plan to post all pages from this book for the hikes that you have been or some pages are only for your family?

Nancy, I remember you was mentioned about this girl with the elephants. It's sounds very exciting to me! It's some kind of of elephants conservation center in Thailand if I'm understand right. Have fun with the hockey!

Nancy and Jean, I'm afraid that you are right, my mom and aunt are also too different and I'm afraid that to working together is a bad idea, so I told it them. But you know how is, parents we can only support them and hope that they'll find the best solution on their own ;) .

Jean, I'm not surprised that you've been able to help others with their info for the genealogy group and I'm sure they appreciate it. :yo:

Have a Wonderful Friday to you all!
