18 More Days!

I know that sunflowers aren't considered "Spring flowers" but wanted to use this one for Ukraine.
Good news -- my back is feeling better today, just ready for me to clean and most likely mess it up a bit. Nah, I will be careful. Yesterday was uneventful unless you count a missing bag of groceries ;) I unpacked everything and realized that there were no half and half containers. That is a very obvious mistake in my house full of coffee addicts. I called the store and the bag had gotten pushed to the back. Whew! I also worked with the technique for Karen's challenge, I had never used the Color Replacement Brush before and was fascinated with it. I love how her challenges really teach me new things even though I have been using Photoshop for a really long time.

I have been struggling with sleeping the last couple of nights, I keep waking up stressed out from what to make for dinners. The night before last, it was a recurring theme. I would wake up, worry about dinner, figure it out (French Onion Soup in case you were wondering ;) ), fall back asleep, wake up, worry, remember, fall back asleep. Lather, rinse, repeat. Last night was similar except that I still don't know what to cook.

And that, my dear friends, is about as exciting as my life is at the moment. *eye roll*

WIshing everyone a very happy day! Stay warm

@BrightEyes I hope that your weather is staying warmer for you. We had a cold front come in overnight and now it is freezing and windy again. Guess this is the Lion part of March. I never thought to put sage in meatloaf. I don't eat beef so I have no idea how that would taste but I am going to keep it in mind next time I make it for Gary. It sounds like it would change it up a bit.
*fingers crossed that you won't have too much of a tax bill*

@tanteva Of all movies to watch to get your mind off of depressing news-- I haven't seen Inside Out but have heard bits about it that is it sad. Bambi traumatized me when I was a kid so I get what you mean about having people die in just about all of the movies.
Good luck at work today. I hope that the bus ride and walk aren't too bad. Will you and Urban have the same hours? You can skip and walk hand in hand, that would be cute. *ducks and runs from the thread*

@taxed4ever You are not catching any breaks as you try to get back into being active again.
OMG- the card is fantastic!! Is the butterfly just attached with thread? No one will even notice if the base is a little warped, It is just beautiful!
The painting sounds stunning too. Will you put it up for sale with you are done?

@bcgal00 How is your back holding up with all of the packing? That is very exciting, looking for new furniture! What colors and styles are you looking at? *laughing at Remi* Was she able to get her ball back with your help?

@Cherylndesigns My theory is who gets to decide that a weed is a weed? Dandelions are considered weeds but they are actually very good pollinators and food for bees. IMHO- *not* a weed.
Roger made a wise decision with his "alrighty" after Braden said that Cici wants the weeds hahahahah!!

@scrap-genie Look at that!!!!! That makes me soooo happy!!!!! Jealous since my yard is still covered with snow and ice, but dang it-- it will happen here too!! Thank you so much for sharing the photos!!!

@LSlycord Good luck to Syd for whatever her choice is, but it does sound like she unconsciously has made up her mind LOL I am sure that not having the scholarship hurts a bit but that isn't everything as I know you are telling her.
I bet the lemon tree smells amazing.

better get some breakfast

Love to you all

Morning, gals. Yesterday was such a beautiful day... we got all the way up to 72*!!!! And only light winds!!! It felt like a perfect spring day with bright blue skies. Had a smile on my face all day! And to make it a real 'feel good' day - I got my hair cut. It feel so much better and easy care again! I really like the short hair that can be a wash'n'wear if I don't feel like messing with it.

While I was out, I picked up 2 pair of fleece pants in what I thought was the right size... only to discover that they were too big when I tried them on after I got home. Guess the 5 lbs I lost the past few weeks made a difference. Will return them when I get out again. I managed to get the other things I needed while I was out. Stopped by the mailbox and picked up mail... then saw the mail-truck heading for our boxes for yesterday's delivery. LOL Will wait till later today and get yesterday's and today's mail. I plan on opening the house up to air it out this afternoon. Another 70's day... but that will be changing Friday... back to cold weather again for the weekend and into next week.

@faerywings Sorry one of the bags of groceries got left at the FP.. but glad you called and they have it waiting for you. I know what you mean about needing the coffee creamer for your family... that was one of my 'must-get' items I picked up yesterday. Sorry your sleep was so broken and you worrying about what to fix for supper. Won't know how bad of a hit the Tax bill will be for another couple of weeks... will worry about it when I get it back.

Oh, before I forget.... I only used 2 teaspoons of sage in the meatloaf (about 1 1/2 lbs of ground beef). I read about adding sage in one of my OLD recipe books - "Joys of Cooking". I can't say that I tasted the sage but it sure popped the flavors up a notch. I also use V8 tomato juice mixed with 2 tbs of Worceshestershire Sauce - 1/3 of a can in the meat/onions/breadcrumbs mixture and the rest poured on top of it after it is in the loaf pan.

@taxed4ever So sorry your plans for swimming laps will have to wait for a while longer. No way would I want to swim in cold water!! Wish you could send your rain our way as we need the moisture. Our last snow was more powdery than usual. Can't wait to see your creation for that piece of wood... sounds delightful and so creative.

@bcgal00 Was LOL when you and Jen compared the two cars and found out hers has the same things yours has!!! Oh, the new furniture sounds wonderful. Glad to hear you are trying to rest the back in between sorting, discarding and packing.

@LSlycord Saw that wonderful LO you did... Wow, you do have a lot of special events on your calendar! Are you settling into working full time again?? Have you got your Passports/Visas yet? So exciting about your European adventure.

Got to call DD#2 today... it is her birthday. CYL

Morning everyone, it is so nice to see the sun today! I have lots to get done here today! Its time to hand out coupons for the challenges and try to catch up with a few other things here! I am meeting an old friend for lunch today, it will be good to touch base with her again! So I have to get things done, before heading out for lunch. I went for a very nice walk yesterday, it wasn't sunny but I had my audio book playing while I was walking and I walked much longer than I had planned. It was good to be outside in the fresh air! Got a call from the pool (was surprised!) but I guess its going to be quite awhile before I can get back to swimming. They have closed the lap pool as they are still having problems with the boiler and are not sure when it will get fixed, then they have to warm everything up again and god knows how long it will take. Seems they can't find anyone to fix the problem. So the big swim meet that was supposed to happen this weekend has been cancelled :( . Oh well I guess I better start looking for another form of exercise to do. Quick personals today, I am running late...

@faerywings - Yup sounds like the same old same old, just like me these days too! Glad that they found the half and half cream for you! Thanks for the nice compliment on my card and yes I will sell the painting if I ever get started on it LOL.

@BrightEyes - Loving the new shorter hairstyle!! Wish I could send some of the wet to you for sure! Sounds like we are in for a few sunny days over the weekend though. Yup there is no way I would swim in that freezing cold water, but now they have closed the pool so can't anyway. May as well swim in the Lake LOL.

ok gotta go will catch up with you all later on.

Good morning!

I slept until 8 o'clock this morning! Straight through! I actually laid there for about another hour and just listened to my music and relaxed. It's supposed to be 80 today! I can't even believe it. I sat in the sun for an hour again yesterday - it felt amazing. I went out there while the house was being cleaned and got out of Casey's way for a change. She's so great - she just cleans around me while I'm working in my office.

Chris @faerywings Chuck had a missing bag of groceries recently. It's SO weird when you get home and don't have one of your bags. He was just shaking his head and saying "I don't believe it." He loves going to the grocery and I gave up going a long time ago. I used to go and he went too so I said, "look, I don't like going and you do, so why don't you just go." BWAHAHA We've done that ever since.

Chris, ITA about "weeds" - I think they're beautiful, but not everybody does. They're pretty dormant right now, but in a few weeks, it will be lovely out there. About dandelions, you can also eat them - the greens are very good. I found some starts of green yesterday that weren't there the day before. I tried identifying them, but my "plant identifier app" subscription has expired and I'm trying to find another one that I can use free - the two that I downloaded I didn't like. I'm going to be forced to pay for the other one, I guess. :(

The lady who cleans for us is an Herbalist and she's teaching me lots of things about herbs - many of them grow in the wild and I've found some right in the back yard. She's mixed up a concoction for me to put in my tea at bedtime and it really makes me GO to sleep which is something I've always had trouble doing. I told her yesterday that I needed something to make me STAY asleep.

Kay @BrightEyes I love your hair! It must be so carefree and you have to feel great after getting it cut. I wish I could wear mine short like that, but it's way to curly and would be a mess.

A quick hello today. I've been busy sorting and packing. I am going to get a trim this afternoon and then off to dog park. Remi really needs the exercise. She has been extra barky today, she's over-stimulated with all the activity around here.

My back has been bothering me more, understandably, with all the activity but I've been doing ok with extra stretching, resting and putting the heating pad on for a bit each day.

Jen called and is popping by for a coffee before I go get my haircut. BFN
