Hello and happy Thursday to everyone! How are you?
I have to say that is a *very* good thing that it is rainy today. The temps are going to be awesome and if not for the rain, I would want to be outside. My back felt pretty darn good all day yesterday. This morning, I set it off again, not bad but the twinges are rolling through. Dammit.
I actually felt pretty productive yesterday. Gary drove to me to get the groceries and brought everything in but I was able to get it unpacked and put away. I did some laundry - had Scott bring the basket down for me, but I was good putting my clothes in the closet and drawers. I also finished the little kitten bucket! Today, I am weaving in the ends for the blanket, will block them both and when they are dry, I will see if the woman who has that cat hospice wants them. If not, I will contact the shelter. The bucket came out cute! Scott and I talked about gardens and plants and I really want to get looking at what I will need. And *buying* since the COVID relief check came yesterday. Actually, Gary and I have to have a discussion about what we plan on using it for, there are a lot of things around the house that we haven't been able to take care of and a bunch of bills has piled up.
My mom called me last night to update me about her new kidney specialist. The one that she had been seeing since last summer was not a good match for her, she needs information explained to her clearly and kindly. The first Dr might have been entirely competent and highly rated but he wasn't treating her as a person with valid concerns. I had been telling her since Day One to switch to his partner but she felt uncomfortable. Finally, when she saw her cardiologist last month a question came up about her kidneys and she didn't know how to answer it and finally asked the cardiologist to recommend someone else. The new Dr seems like he is going to be able to help a lot. She wasn't intimidated by him and was able to ask a lot of questions and get answers. Such a relief!

Not much else going on here- I am debating whether I should take meds, get a heat pack, or a pain patch for my back. Fun choices today *winks*

Have a fab day!!

@nancyr Did the Devils play last night and keep the winning streak going? I am hoping the same thing, that as they get more experience together, they will become an amazing team. hahah! Your dream must have been funny.
I tried to help my parents last year, 2 years ago??... with their insurance. The same thing -- my dad's old company gives him money to pay for their insurance but it has to go through the company's plan and it sounds like it is a nightmare. They needed so much help last year and everyone was passing the buck to the next person. I hope that the last call you made gets it all settled for you. Sorry that you didn't get the full relief $. My kids were thrilled that they finally got some since they haven't worked in over a year. My forsythia looks like it is starting to get the greenish "haze" on the branches which means in another few weeks it should bloom!

@taxed4ever I am so excited for you getting your yard cleaned up and pretty again. What kinds of perennials do you think you are going to get? It isn't a surprise that you slept so well after all of that work and fresh air. I think I want to add more hostas in the back. Scott added a bunch several years ago and they have done well and believe it or not- the deer have left them alone for the most part. I have to take a look at the soon to see if they can be split and moved or if I should buy a few new ones. Hope you got some good scrap time in!

@Cherylndesigns Delirious is such a perfect word for the feeling of seeing spring growth. Sums it up! I bet Dasiy was happy to get out for a walk and sniff all of the new smells! hehe, Ava is a home improvement fairy for sure. Your age challenge was so much fun- the LOs have been awesome.

@scrap-genie Yay for daffodils!!! I saw tiny bits of mine popping above ground the other day. Where do the redpolls head off to next? So cool that you saw a bald eagle! I've been watching the sky to see if I see one again (if it was one.).
ITA-- the word for Ava is "dynamo!!"

@felis- I was reading the comments on my age LO and yours ("green fairy" ) made me smile at first, then I wondered if you meant Green Fairy as in absinthe. I don't remember what the green drink was that was in my hand but it was most definitely not absinthe. :p The idea of that stuff makes me nervous. Nope, not for me!
I am happy that you slept well and had a great day! I will have to at your page for the Age challenge too. Your white space page looks good to me!
I am going to have to read about no-dig gardening, sounds like it is all raised beds. They make these neat "keyhole" raised bed kits but they are expensive. I asked Gary if he would be able to make one for me, but he thinks that the wood is going to be almost as expensive on its own.
The chipmunks kept taking off with my tomatoes last year- they do every year. And the birds eat the blueberries. *shakes my head* What can you do, they have to eat too!

Cheryl- oh no! That would have been a BAD and expensive treat for Daisy to nibble on. When Caitlyn had Bunny, she would gnaw through laptop and cell phone cords all of the time. Caitlyn would buy replacement cords in bulk. (Bunny was a large rabbit that lived in her room and made a general mess of things but was sweet -on occasion. LOL )
Daisy looks like she would weigh much less than 50 lbs-- she must be a dense dog hiding under her fluff!

hugs!!

We're leaving shortly to drive across town to pick up some things from a friend (well, actually from his milk chute) that have accumulated over the months that I need to have. They come to a post office box over there and more than one person needs to deal with some of them. It is still fairly warm but tomorrow they are predicted big winds. Still a few redpolls. They have to head way north to "home." (Here's their range map: https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Common_Redpoll/maps-range).

Chris, bad back (need a shaking finger emoji), guess you aggravated it yesterday despite being careful. All the talk of plants sounds so good. We expect to see the crochet finished you know. Some kitty will be happy.

Felis, just want to mention that with the birds an outdoor cat isn't right, but we did have an indoor cat when we brought home DH's father's cat years ago. He was a sweet kitty, already mellow with his years.

Cheryl, keep thinking of you and the Internet and wishing things would change.

Happy spring day to all.

Morning everyone! It is a sunny but still very chilly morning here! The forecast has been spot on for our Spring, below normal temps, sure wish it would warm up! My poor plants outside don't know if they should bloom or not LOL. The daffodils are all up but they are not looking all that nice and have not bloomed yet. The are looking very spindly & skinny, so strange. But hey its cold out there LOL. Guess what???? I am finally getting my wall oven repaired today! Yes it has taken all this time for the parts to come from the States! Isn't that crazy??? But hooray I will hopefully have an oven that actually stays working long enough to cook a meal! My poor toaster oven has been very overworked! Had a face time talk with Heather and both boys today, poor Mason has lost both of his front teeth and has been teased at school over it. So Heather has let him stay home and do his schooling remotely. Sure hope he can be convinced to get back out there, Heather says she will be speaking with his teachers over this. Why do kids have to be so mean to each other?? One of the boys is Mason's best friend too, its sad!!

@faerywings - Ouch! sorry that you have thrown your back out again! It must be frustrating after it was starting to feel so much better! I am not sure what I should get in the way of perennials, but a new Hosta would be a great idea! I guess I will have to see how much more sunlight there will be out back now that we have taken down all of those branches. I did have lots of fun scrapping a page for the Age is just a number challenge! There are so many great pages for that challenge!

@Cherylndesigns - I had so much fun doing your challenge! I too sure wish things would improve with your wifi! It must be very difficult to keep up with all of the commenting that you are doing for your challenge! Yes I had a good laugh over your story about your 50 lb daisy jumping on you! Did Ava drop the wallet when you shouted "Drop IT"? LOL.

@scrap-genie - Jean my poor daffodils are just sitting there waiting for some warmer temps so that they can open up! My forsythia is also waiting patiently poor plants! Hope that you have a nice drive and that you get all the things picked up that have been waiting for you! How fun for you to see the bald eagle! We have many here and they sometimes sit on the top of one of the big trees outside my window and have their supper. (Not always a pleasant thing to watch!)

@felis - Hope you are having a better day today! Yes sneaking in a good nap is a very wonderful thing! Rejuvenating! I think your page for the white space challenge is great! Although I too struggle with doing white space layouts. I will take a closer look at it in the gallery though!

Ok repair guy should be here shortly, so I better get going. Have to get my grocery order in right away too. Have a wonderful day ladies!!

Good morning, ladies. My mornings sure fly by quickly with desk work and (mostly) taking care of the dogs. Remi is definitely feeling better and looks healthy so I am very optimistic about her upcoming tests this wkend. Her energy is just crazy. I never had an aussie before and although I knew they were high energy, I wasn't prepared for the reality of it. She requires a lot of attention, re-directing, playtime, etc. I'm so thankful for having Taz to pick up the slack and keeping her entertained to give me a break. She is super smart which is great but also challenging b/c she is already testing me, trying to get away with things. But...we love her to pieces so it's all worth it. She is definitely keeping me and Taz busy. I'm going to quit all my private CT teams and just do store work to lighten my load b/c I know I'll be kept busy for the next yr with Remi as I want to train her well, get out for lots of physical activities outdoors and will be socializing her a lot once she gets all her shots.

Today we are going to a different pet store that she hasn't been to before to find a new halter that is easier to put on. I need to start leash training now with her.

@faerywings Glad your mom switched doctors. Communication is important and she needs a doctor who listens and answers her concerns.

@taxed4ever Hope the stove is fixed today. How frustrating to have had to use the toaster oven all this time.

I'm getting out of here, Remi is waking up, time to go outside BFN.

Good afternoon my lovlies. Trudy @taxed4ever I had to laugh about Ava dropping the wallet. I DO have a "military voice" when I choose to use it. The kids used to freeze when I used that. I thank you for the concern over my wifi - I must say it keeps me incredibly busy - I've already been out today to download the files for the etd reveal. I don't need wifi for PS thankfully! I've already gotten my layout done and posted in the etd thread. Whew! I'm SO glad that you enjoyed my challenge! I'm getting such a kick out of the "takes" and a lot of laughs. It's overwhelmed me!

Jean @scrap-genie - I have to laugh about you getting things from the milk chute. You probably don't know this, but there are about 9 people using one big mailbox here! The new tenants, in the brick house, have been added to the list now, too. We take theirs to their front door, because they bring any Amazon deliveries (that are left on their front porch) up to us. We have our "system" as crazy as it is. My SIL is in the process of building everybody their own big mailbox, though. That will be helpful - I feel sorry for the mail, UPS, Fedex drivers - they must just about lose their minds with ALL the stuff we all get. Thanks for your kind thoughts about my lack of wifi. It is the most time-consuming thing I've ever had. Half my day is taken up waiting on a site to load, then running to get files downloaded. I'm going to have time to kill when I finally DO get it!

Chris @faerywings I was SO relieved when I put my airpod in (after it had charged) and IT WORKED! Yeah, you know how much those suckers cost! I doubt they sell just one either. They were a gift from Chuck 2 Christmas's ago. I hardly EVER ask for anything, but I asked for those and he got them for me. Even drove to the Apple Store to get the real deal.

I wish your back would get better! Mine is still barking a little, especially when I've been sitting too long. I'm SO glad you liked my "delicious" description of Spring! I just felt that way the day I threw all of my windows open.

I'd better get over to my challenge and see if anybody has posted anything new. I'm having so much fun with that and love the back and forth banter.

Hope you all have a good day and nobody hurts any body parts!

Waving to all!

Hello girls!
Boring but very satisfying day for me. I was able to finish everything planned home tasks. So now I will spend some time at the gallery here, I love the O party!

Chris, I was thinking that you make association with the absinthe, the drink of the painters, not because of what you handle, but your green cup element. Excuse me if I'm get it wrong! I'm not too familiar with the no digging method just watch it in IG. No my country not using raised beds and I can't understand them, even I'm asked my english friend, but they cant convinced me that this is necessary, so they play the card with the bad weather and I can't argue with that LOL! No digging projects, that I'm watch no need raised beds, and don't cost much, but need time as you first have to produce your own compost! I have to start composting again, but my dad procrastinate to make me space for that!

Jean, you definitely needs another indoor cat ;)! Have fun visit to your friend!

Trudy, hooray for the wall oven! Small victory but very important, oven is the heart of every home! (Or it was kitchen, but the idea is same, as my family says "I love you" with the food).
Ohh, poor Mason! And Heather, this must be very difficult situation for her! But aren't school for that, to learn you how to argue and win over jerks?

Rae, I'm so happy that Remi is feeling well and makes you happy!

Cheryl, your story really made my day, thank you! That's why my Middleton is not allowed inside our house, he chewing EVERYTHING, you can't imagine the poor look of his own room. We had to take out almost all furniture.
I'm really impressed by your patience with the wifi, this is most basic thing for me! My family use 3 different providers for different devices! You are my hero to can deal with/without that for so long!

Thank you all for your check on my page for the White space challenge!

OK, Jean is wrote this at the challenge thread and it's really makes me laugh so much, so now my stomach hurts!
That's interesting as I thought the earlier photo must be Felis' sister because it didn't look like her. And Felis, I think the current photo is gorgeous and you AND the jacket look so chic.
OMG, Jean, are you kidding me my sister is a chick with athletic body! I'm a universe away from her, this photo must be really poor quality after scanning. LOL! But thank you, she will laugh a lot (or will be offended, I'm not sure) o_Oo_O.
Love you, sweetie! But you need to check your eyes or standards, I'm not sure!

My little sister , and me :p, madness!

Felis, I didn't say it looked like her (as I really didn't remember her appearance) just that it didn't look like you. (there has to be an emoji for this somewhere!) Still think the now one that IS you looks wonderful.
