Good morning!

So-- I asked for help yesterday from you all, and what did I get?? Nothing, nada, zippppp.... *cries* I had a repeat of the day before. Brain chaos. Utter and complete brain chaos. ;)

There was some good news mixed in so I will share that. I got to pet the kitty!!!!! His name is Shadow and he is tiny and so soft. The other good news is that the cat that was suspected of having kidney disease-- his blood work came back fine. Just going to keep an eye on him. The vet thinks he was stressed, he lost his mom and his brother in only a few months, and then the new boy was adopted. That's a lot of changes for an older cat.
I spoke to my mom, she is all ready for the appt today so hopefully, we will know more about the pacemaker (she is still very hung up on the defibrillator part). She and my dad are sort of talking so *shrugs* -- I guuuuueeesssss that is a good thing?

No plans for today. It is cold and rainy - that is making me achy. Scott was supposed to be at work this morning but I haven't seen him. I bet it got canceled b/c of the rain. Yesterday Weis hosted a field trip - Elem school kids learning physics using the trebuchet. I *still* can't get over that Scott has a job that lets him use a trebuchet. ROTFLMAO
I am making chicken pot pie from scratch, it is a good day for it. My mom is going to call with the medical updates this afternoon.

That's all folks
th

Make it a great one!!

@tanteva thank you for the reminder, I wish there was a "no worry over lack of control" switch in my head :p

@LSlycord Good luck with getting your work done in the hours you have. And don't forget to eat! How did the training session with Shaun and the dogs end up? Yeah, I hear you, it seems like Decker would be *perfect* for the second family but how would that work with Family #1?

@BrightEyes Good luck to Chari today! Please tell her that her extended O-Fam is all sending her good thoughts for an easy recovery
Thx for the link, I put on my Wish List :)

@taxed4ever How was the hike? Are you feeling it today, even if not hard hikes, it sounds like a lot of it :)
Your Gary doesn't sound like mentally he is anywhere near retiring. I hope the new coworker is a good match.
Thank you for posting the photo of you with the tether, I was having a hard time trying to figure out how it would work. Gorgeous pool too!

@Cherylndesigns I hope it has warmed up by you. We are going to be suck in the mid-30s to mid-40s the next week, Tomorrow looks like it is the only nice-ish day breaking 50. I hope that your warm weather stays with you. Chuck the Weatherman cannot be wrong *G*
Thanks for the tip re: Cerebral, I will check it out. Yup, money might not make you happy but it sure makes certain things less stressful.
Ok, no treats yet for The Ellie Bell. Then-- more tummy pets please, instead.

@tanteva hope you had a good day at work, your dinner sounds very good! Hang in there!

Hugs to you all!

Well, we were up while it was still dark. I took Chari over to the hospital/surgical center just before 6AM, she checked in and I waited with her until they took her back then came on home. I am only 10 minutes or less from the hospital (depending on traffic and lights) so it was okay for me not to stay there to wait. Kind of hard to drink coffee when the masks must stay in place!! The chairs there are typical doctor's office one... not very comfortable at all! She should be ready to come home around 9 or so. The good thing was it was warm enough yesterday that all the snow was melted and the roads were not icy. After I get her home, I will need to go to Smith's and pickup her meds (the pharmacy doesn't open until 10AM) and will get a few groceries... fruits and veggies, and make a quick run to the PO to mail a couple of things.

Need to work on a LO before I go to pick her up so this is short and sweet.

Good morning ladies! Is it really Thursday already? Oh my goodness…how does this happen? Not much going on here. I have dug out all of these old family photos so that Shaun can use them for a history project (in college…how crazy is that). I have literally 1000’s of photos. And easily 100+ of people that are all dead now. Talk about going down the proverbial rabbit hole.

@faerywings the pot pie sounds wonderful. Hoping that your mom feels good after this appointment.

@BrightEyes thinking of you guys this morning. Hoping that all goes well and that you get back home with no problems…sure glad that all of the snow melted and it is warm enough that you don’t need to deal with slick spots.

@taxed4ever that is exactly the kind of thing that we have in our pool. I wasn’t sure about it when I got it for him as a Christmas gift. However, I read that lots of the swim teams at colleges use it for a workout so I decided to go with it and it definitely works for him. How did you get started with swimming? Were you a swimmer in school?

@Cherylndesigns I love that Ava is working with a trainer. We need to do that with Hayden. I have realized recently that she is a Covid puppy…we got her 3 months before the pandemic hit. So her socialization is limited to just us and Andie. She needs some training. Maybe a summer project.

@tanteva hope that work was good and that you continue to get better. I know that you must be anxious to get back to normal and scrapping!

Morning all... it is a lovely sunny morning, but the temps have dropped a bit and the roofs all have frost on them this morning. Yesterday's hike was beautiful! I could have stayed all day on the first part of the hike! Just meandering around all of the little trails that went around the lake and looking at all the creeks and the sun shining through the trees. It was heaven! The second part of the hike was also beautiful, but we did get a bit wet as the rain decided to start falling. Oh well I brought my raincoat so I managed to stay dry. Today I might see if a friend wants to do a hike on Mt Tzouhalem. Its right behind our place and is a great hike too! I would have to be back before 2pm though as I get my hair cut and coloured this afternoon. I will see how my morning goes I guess as things don't usually work out when I try to plan too far ahead  .

@faerywings - Sorry that we all let down yesterday and we were not any help to you LOL. Wish we could make all of your brain chaos go away, but I think we are all afraid to go rambling around inside your head ! Ha, ha just kidding, you know we all love you! Surprisingly I am not stiff or sore at all!! It was a lot of miles we put on, but nothing that was really strenuous, it was great to be outside! I am hoping that we can get out to our Son's place in the late summer for another visit, so we can enjoy the pool and kids. Not sure if they are coming out this way this summer or not, sure hope so!! Everything is so up in the air and who knows what Covid has in store for us in the future??

@BrightEyes - Sending good vibes to your DD for her surgery this morning! Nice that you are so close and you did not have to wait in the uncomfortable chairs! You will have a busy day getting things done for her. Hope that you don't wear yourself out in the process!! Take care of you too!!

@LSlycord - I know its Thursday already!!! The days sure fly by! Shaun will have plenty for his history project! How wonderful that you have all those photos for him! As for how I got started swimming? Well I grew up on a Lake and Mom and Dad were adamant that we all learned how to swim! We spent every waking moment in the water in the summer. My DH's Aunt taught me how to swim and I just loved it, I was like a fish LOL. The lap swimming however happened when I started to go to Aqua fitness and I would watch the others in the lap pool and kept thinking, man I would love to do that! So I took the plunge (no pun intended) and started going to the pool to swim laps. Learned all the rules and taught myself how to do a flip turn. That was around 6-7 years ago I think. I still feel like the water is my happy place! I must have been a fish in a former life LOL.

Well I am in need of my second cup of coffee this morning and then off to the gallery to leave some lovin!! Have a great Thursday everyone!

@taxed4ever your hike sounds lovely :-) And I googled Mt Tzouhalem, it looks amazing.

@faerywings Good news about the cats :-) but sorry about the miserable weather. Definitely sounds like a day for comfort food baking!

@BrightEyes Hope your daughter is doing OK and you were able to keep your mind off things while you waited (did you end up scapping?)

@LSlycord Does that mean we are going to see lots of heritage pages from you? .... ;-)

I've had a exhausting couple of days, out of town on a photo shoot and catching up with friends. First time in months, and I'd forgotten how challenging working on a laptop - and also having DH steal all my chargers etc - is. I bought a new lightening charger cord and adapter and made him swear never to 'borrow' them. That lasted one day until we got to the airport and his phone was dead so he couldn't end the carshare ride. Quickly recharged his phone, then stuffed the charger etc into his bag

Anyway, it was fun to be somewhere different for the first time in ages AND catching up with people :-) Decided where we would live when we finally have an empty nest and can move up there again.

Meanwhile, my cottage is FINALLY listed and the photos look amazing. When the agent and photographer got there the tenants were rushing around polishing and putting out fresh flowers

Fortunately for them/unfortunately for me they have found a new place so the house will be empty in a month. So unless it sells quickly I will have to either move back into it or pay to have it staged.

And today I have to desperately try to find a glazier as the property manager has flaked on getting the cracked glass in the back door fixed before the open home this weekend.

This stuff is exhausting!

Hey Chris, @faerywings I found your brain!!! BWAHAHA.

Don't say we never did anything for you - does this help?????

The kitty sounds SO sweet and that's sad about the mommy. I have kitty news - one of our "outside cats" - Stormy - had a litter last night - in Adrienne's garage. Stormy is jet black and the baby daddy is an orange tabby - not Sam (he's neutered). Haha Stormy had 3 babies and they're all grey tiger stripes - They're too tiny to hold yet and Stormy moved them after we humans got involved. I was going to go up and see them today but Adrienne said that Stormy is being very protective and doesn't want her babies bothered. I guess she "hid" them - she just wants to be left alone.

I hope your mom's appt goes well and it's good (I think) that your mom and dad are talking. They must be characters.

Linda @LSlycord Ellie Belly's training went as well as can be expected yesterday. I guess she learned to lay down, sit up and stay. She hated the crate and tried to eat the metal sides. When she found out that wouldn't work, she gave up and took a nap. She goes back again tomorrow. Getting a puppy crate trained is imperative in my book! Daisy slept in hers until she was about 3, then one night she refused to go in and that was that. It should be their safe place.

Kay @BrightEyes sounds like Chari's arrival at the hospital went well and I'm glad you didn't have to stay there. The hospital is the best place to pick up germs - you need to get out of there. Hoping things go smoothly afterward and for the first few days after she comes home.

Lynn @Lynn Grieveson sounds like you've had a busy morning and that your property sells fast. I hear you about the chargers - I have grandkids who always want to use mine. I have a super fast phone charger and they always want to use it. I have my name on all of my fast charge cubes. LOL I got them all a fast charger just like mine for Christmas.

The weather here is sunny and it's only 50 right now but tomorrow it starts warming up again and will be back in the 70's by Monday. YAY!

Chris @faerywings I'll be giving Ellie B an extra belly rub from Aunt Chris every time I see her.

Gotta go - need another cup of coffee.

Felt like a long day at work today, and I'm so tired. Decided to lay down on the sofa and fall asleep to the Tv. Yeah, sure ... now I got hiccups. *sigh*
