What a weird day, weird weather, weird snowstorm and weird mood that I am in.

The snow (thank goodness!) was not as much as some of the upper-end forecasts. It looks like the final amount is about 7" which is 7" more than I would like but less than the 12" that was being floated around the day before. The storm itself was really bizarre. It kind of "spritzed" snow all day but didn't really start to come down and stick until late afternoon. I bet the school districts were getting blasted about the decision to close, the ones up here could have gone in and had an early dismissal. But who knows, it could have been bad up the mountain and the buses could have gotten stuck like they have before.

The other pain in the butt about yesterday was trying to figure out *exactly* what it is that Scott's school needs for the Financial Aid Office. What I had sent in with him was not what they needed and the form that they gave him was confusing as all hell. He is going back there tomorrow with some other additional info and see what else they need. I can't prove that I don't have an income- it is like proving a negative. How do you do that? :noidea:

Today is going to be all about shoveling snow. And I am not cleaning for my friend because her driveway isn't plowed and after Cait getting stuck there a month or so ago, I am just as happy not having to deal with that.
I wish I could see the sun and flowers and grass growing. I am in such a yucky mood and I need to break out of it. The weather is not helping it at all.

If you have sun by you, send it my way, pretty please!!!!!

Nancy- was the storm acting strange by you too? Hope that you didn't get too much snow.
Oh, drat about the loss the other night. Hard to see the goalies so off that they let that many goals scored.
That is really cool that you have that new project of scrapping photos every month. I saw one of the pages in the gallery and I always get such a kick out of seeing Luther. There was one photo of his nose in something, a jar or bucket? what was that about?
Is there going to be another storm next week??????????????????? Please tell me that you are making an April Fools joke!!! :faint2:

I forgot to say this up there^^ -- but I spoke with Leah's mom yesterday and she invited me and the rest of the family to Passover dinner on the 31st. Cait and I are going, it is nice to do something to celebrate with her family. I have been to a Seder before in High School but am happy to be part of Leah's celebration as well. How ironic that I am not celebrating Easter with my family but a Jewish holiday with Leah's LOL
And..... Leah got accepted into the Master's Program at Ramapo Collge!!!:cheer2: That is where Scott is going now and where Cait is applying next week. All three of my kids in the same school Makes this mama happy!

Ok, sorry for the interruption. Back to Nancy-
Did you and DH get to bring Luther to play in the snow? W wanted to go out and out and out again, just to eat the snow. I told Gary that it wouldn't surprise me if one day she walks around sticking her tongue out to catch snowflakes like a kid. Hope you had a nice cozy day with the boys.

Trudy- How was the hike? My goodness (yeah I am whining again) I would love to be out in the fresh air and in nature! I hope that the weather will be nice and you can take the kids on a hike too.

Felis- sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well, hope that the tea and nap help.

Jean- I am hoping the same as you, that there will be no more snow. I remember how much snow we had in 1996- I remember it because I was pregnant with Scott and I had trouble getting to work very often. We had snow on April Fools day and I was 2 weeks away from being on Maternity Leave. I didn't even bother trying to get in. I called the school and said "Nope."
Thanks for liking the pictures of W, she is a crazy one!

Rae- I am thinking of you and hope that you are hanging in ok!! Love you!

Hello lovely girls,
I feel like a liar, because I always promise to Chris that winter is ended, but NO, looks like winter is back. We have so much snow today. :smow: . And I can play with the dogs, because ugh, I have a flu. So drink tea and try to handle my overwhelmed work after I messed up my schedule again  . Yep, a usual me.
As you probably know I made weekly page and the task for this week is make connection, so one of the proposes was to call old friend, with who you aren't talk from years. I was browse some social media profiles and then Yesterday I received unknown call and at first I decided it's the friend from my college years. Is it happened to you to hear someone's voice and your heart just to jump and then to stop for a while?! I was more excited than I expected. But unfortunately it was someone else, call by mistake. Memory is strange thing, it's mix and match unexpected things.

Ok, let's see what happened in present.

Chris, sorry about the snow! I tried to encourage you, but looks like I'm lied and this isn't the last snow. After today's new portion snow I'm sure this year any tulips wouldn't comes , I hope at least bulbs to survives! I think you'll be great weather girl! Great about the same school for all the 'kids'. Did that's mean that they can go with one car?!

Nancy, personally, I think that for one tweet is important to got attention, so don't care how many are been dislikes, but that they are hear what you want to say. If you want after use it for the challenges, come and share your monthly pages at our thread too, me and Jean will be happy to have more company! And thats will make this project easy to be tracked by others. I just suggested!

Trudy, gallery is gorgeous, indeed! I still feels like I'm miss something from all these new goodies I want to check, but commented as much I could. Bad about your son's boat, you know how sentimental I can be for the subjects, so I totally understand how hard can be this decision! Oh, You'll have so much fun with the kids! Great that you can go on this hike!

Jean, oh now what you saying, snow in April! Hope no! There is supposed snow to stop with ends of March. This early spring this year lure many storks to come early, and now they are in danger from freezing. On many places people takes them at their farms, coordinated with the wild bird charity foundations, so to can save them. Storks are big and easy to be seen when they are in danger, but all tiny birds that are comes too, poor guys probably will finish like a food for the street pets, so, SO, sad! My heart is bleeding for them!

Hey, I know that Rae needs quiet, but did some of you know some updates, from her FB or maybe on personal?! This silence start worry me.

Have a warm and safe day you all! :crutch:

good morning - I think we got around 8-9 inches of new snow. It is gorgeous sticking to all the trees. And Luther had a great time. We all did. There were a few people out just enjoying the snow. So Luther got to run and run! The snow was strange though as it would come down hard and then just flurries. It became heaviest late in the afternoon and into the evening. But we did not get the most so that was good. In fact the sun is now out. My son is back at work as our streets are all clean - they are very good about cleaning the major highways. My DH has delayed opening so he is out shoveling which crack me up as he loves it. The wind is picking up and the snow if falling off the trees. Not much else going on. I will be watching hockey tonight. And my sister will be calling so that is nice. Thanks to everyone for the comments on my MOPs project. And getting rid of photos

Chris it was not an April Fool's joke the weather man just said that most snow stops after Easter which is April Fool's day. LOL. Sorry you are cold. It is the pits the temps should warm up and melt this all away over the next few days. And next week I am seeing some 50s. Hard to believe that a few weeks ago we had an 80 degree day. I saw a post on line that cracked me up a family where the adults were not going to dye the eggs as they were going to hide the white eggs in the snow. Poor kids. My DH told me a joke - There was an attempt on the Presidents life by a knife wielding guy. The secret service agent screams Mickey Mouse. The man is tackled and the President is saved. He asks the agent why scream Mickey Mouse. The agent said "I got excited and I meant to say Donald duck." Glad you are not driving up the mountain to clean.

Trudy wow how was the hike. Did the rain hold off? That is cool that the Bruins have clinched a spot in the play offs. My team is still hanging in there. Tell you DH thanks for the compliment about hockey - not sure my DH thanks it is such a great thing LOL.

Felis OH NO I hope you are not sick during the O birthday party. Hope the nap and tea helped.

Jean glad that you did not get too much snow. My DH said we did not have a winter storm as it was on the first day of spring so it was a spring storm. LOL

Sending thoughts Rae!

Have a great day!

Felis we cross posted - that is cool about the storks. I have seen stories on them building their nests on the same chimney's for years. I think birds are more equipped to handle weather than we give them credit for. Feel better!

Morning ladies... Yesterday's hike was very nice and the weather cooperated and it warmed up nicely by the time we stopped for our lunch. I will try to get a page done today for it, but I am now behind a bit with the party challenges and want to try to get those done too. My last day of quiet here at home as tomorrow I need to get groceries for the little ones and then I get my hair cut and coloured in the afternoon. The kids should be here for supper, it will be nice to have them all here again. It probably won't happen again for a long time as the summer is very busy for my son, they have to get the house up for sale and then look for a new home in Ottawa, then we go to Paris and soon after they will make the move. :hurt: I don't want them to go!! I was pleasantly surprised to see my page for the day two birthday challenge was selected as a Gallery Standout for the Haps! So nice to be picked!

Chris - Well at least you did not get the 12 inches of snow that was predicted! I am sending you some warmer temps, but sorry I can't send you the sunshine that you want, its :rain: here today. Good plan not to go and clean for your friend today! Hope that Scott figures out what is needed for the financial aid, they never make it easy do they!! How great that all of your kids will be together at the same school! How nice is it that you get to celebrate with Leah's family, I know that you will have a lovely time! Perhaps after you shovel the snow today you will be able to get some time to spend at the party here at the O, I have so much to catch up on!

Felis - Ugh I am sorry to hear that you are not feeling well! Hope that you feel good enough by tomorrow to get back into the swing of things here at the O! Yes my son is not happy about having to give up his boat, however the guy who wants to buy it, wants my son to take him out in it first before he makes up his mind. I know that Jason doesn't really have the time to do this, but hopefully it will help the buyer to decide! Sending you healing thoughts and hope that the tea and rest helps you to get better! Don't worry about the birds, like Nancy says they are tougher than you think!

Nancy - Ha, Ha on the joke about DT :pound: Hope that your Devils clinch that playoff spot for you! We were not too happy with last nights Bruins game, so many off with injuries, it sure would be nice to have some of them back soon! Nice that your DH likes to shovel the snow, it sure is not my fav thing to do LOL. Good that you will have the house to yourself again today, it sounds like the sun is going to melt it all away soon for you! Fun that you all had fun watching Luther run in the snow, I bet it wore him out! Enjoy working on your new project!

Jean - You are right, it is only the end of March and there could still be more winter weather to come, even for us, we have had snow even into May. Mother Nature does as she pleases! Hope that you have a lovely day today!

Ok I better get my dishwasher emptied and grab my second cup of coffee, I have lots of commenting to do today as the gallery is packed full of great pages! Have a wonderful Thursday everyone!

Good morning, ladies. Sorry I have been MIA so long. I do pop in and read the personals a bit here and there but just haven't been feeling chatty at all and haven't had the energy or inclination to be online much. I realized yesterday that I am getting depressed, overwhelmed and am exhausted from stress. I'm not sleeping well b/c of the nightmares I have. I am going to stay home from the hospital a few days a week and try to clear my head, try to do a few everyday chores and get out for a few walks with Taz. I'm not going to be any help to anyone if I am burned out. I am going to make an effort to check in a few times a week and although I don't feel interested in scrapping, I am going to work on my inspirations challenge soon and maybe once I get into it, maybe I'll enjoy it more than I am anticipating.

Sorry to be a "debbie downer" but I'm sure you'd rather hear my real thoughts, not mindless "I'm ok" kind of chat. I am going to work on relieving my stress and am going to try to get back into yoga to stretch my muscles and calm my mind.

As for B, it is so bad that its overwhelming. No one knows to what extent she will recover abilities but it is starting to look like months/years of retraining for mind and body. The hospital is terrible, I have horror stories of lack of care for her and incorrect treatments. J is meeting with a lawyer next wk about it, we need to know more about patient rights. J is trying to find out if she can get a consultation for a 2nd opinion with a neurologist as the ward doctors change each week and are very inexperienced with encephalitis treatment, which they admit. They are refusing to let us move her to a hospital with a neuro dept but J is going to try to fight it. she has a friend whose brother is a top neuro guy in Edmonton and he is going to give us some names of colleagues that he knows.

So our update is not very good at this point but we will continue on and keep fighting for B and her treatment as best we can. The only good thing about all this is that she may improve over the coming months/years but there are no guarantees as to what extent that may be. I won't talk about her again here for awhile as it is difficult to talk about and honestly, I now have a headache from the overwhelming feelings of writing this out, even though it is probably good to let it out now and again.

So.....let me try to be "normal" for a bit and get outside my head. Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts. I do miss you ladies and hope to hang out a bit more in the coming weeks.

Chris - snow...ugh. Our weather has been chilly and almost freezing at night even though mid day we are hitting the 50's. I need to get out to clean up the garden but its still too cold to prune the bushes yet.

Nancy - glad that Luther is enjoying the snow. Taz didn't get much snow to play in this winter.

Felis - sorry to hear you are sick but enjoy your time with your pets and hopefully are feeling better soon.

Trudy - did you go on a hike this week? Yesterday was a nice day for it.

Jean and everyone else...hope all is well. I'm getting to work now, we'll be heading out to the hospital this afternoon, so need to get my butt in gear now and work. It was hard to focus and chat at first, but now I'm glad I did. I've missed my O family.
