CHEERY O
The day I have been waiting for is here!! At 5.01 EST it's gonna be SPRING!!!
It's one of my favorite days of the year. Man, I wish I could be outside but even if I was able to, the weather isn't cooperative. Rainy and cold today. But that's fine. NJ is still in a drought watch so let it rain now.

I sat on the patio for a little while yesterday afternoon. I peeled the rest of the bark off of my hiking stick and started to sand it. I need better/coarser sandpaper which I have in my closet. It's buried in a craft box and if I try to find it, I'll end up tipping over and landing on my butt. Don't want to break my butt, sitting on it is the only way I can get through the day :rotfl:
Between that and washing and drying my hair, that was the majority of my day. Sounds pretty pathetic. LOL I worked on my AJ challenge (Week 4) and I think it's almost ready to go live on Sunday.

Scott is supposed to be coming here for b-fast/coffee but I messaged him that if he isn't up to it, we could rechedule. They flew from San Francisco to LAX, and then to NJ with a couple of delays mixed in. I am grateful that my FIL picked them up at the airport, no way would my Gary have been able. We have appts for bloodwork this morning so that's the excitement of the day ;)

have a great one!

Scott just left after a wonderful visit. Gary and I canceled the lab work appts so we could spend some extra time with him.
Aside from a long day of traveling to get home last night, he had a fantastic time with Sam's aunt, uncle, and cousins. He showed us pictures of the redwoods and the mountains in Lake Tahoe. That always cracks me up because they make the NJ "mountains" look like ant hills :p I was in San Francisco once when I was a kid and would love to go back someday.
Ehhh, there are a lot of things I'd like to do someday. Who knows, maybe I will. Maybe I'll win a million dollars. :wehaveawinner:

Personals:

@vickyday Did you enjoy your PJ day? I bet combining your ATCs and Bible study was a nice way to relax.

@AK_Tracy I don't like carrots. You should see my plate when I make chicken pot pie-- peas and coarrots pushed to the side. But I will use them in soup which would be perfect with freezing them.
Did you behave yesterday and stay off of your feet at church? At least most of the time? I hope tyjhat you are n't payiong for the work last night to much today.
Look at the difference in your calves.
NOW -- get off of your feet!! :hug2:

@BrightEyes Did it end up snowing yesterday? It *is* the first day of spring so maybe that will be the last of it for a while.
Gary's Dad and Mom went to get the kids last night They were actually excited to do that for Scott. There was no way my Gary was going to make it, he is still feeling utterly miserable today.

@taxed4ever Hopefully your sore throat is better today, maybe it is just allergies?
Your Border LO was so pretty, loved the colors you used.
I don't know if this is true but it is funny/cute either way-- I read that when people in Canada are shopping and see a product from the USA, they turn it around on the shelf so other shoppers automatically know to not buy that brand. I think I saw it on FB so likely not true but it would be very appropriate :p

@Terri M safe travels today! I hope that everything goes well for you and I am sending hugs to your mom-- It will be emotional for sure. ♥

@scrapinmom I am so sad that the epidural didn't help your back pain. MIL had that once and it didn't help her for very long either.
Good luck in deciding whether you want the surgery again

Hugs!

Morning, all. It is a COLD morning... 23*F!!! :brrr: The sun is shining and only a light breeze is blowing. No snow yesterday... I was sure that there wouldn't be any. The same forecast (Edge on the computer) for snow in about 2 hours...I don't believe it will happen. I will be heading to the library once it opens as another 'on hold' book is waiting for me. Will drop off some mail at the Post Office since it is right next door.

@faerywings So glad that FIL picked up Scott... and that you had a wonderful visit with him this morning. Sorry he had so many delays on the trip home. Hope that Gary gets to feeling better soon.

BBL... need to get the bed stripped and sheets washed.

Morning O friends, it is a chilly morning, the rain is supposed to start soon. I would love to get outside and do some weeding in the front but not in the pouring rain!! Sore throat is a bit better, I think it is probably allergies, so I will use my Nettie Pot this morning and my Whoosh machine to flush out my ears. Hopefully that helps with the pressure I am feeling in my head. DH is home for the next 5 days so that means I only have 5 more lunches to make :yesss:. He says this is a trail run for his retirement and I might want to send him back to work after these 5 days off. Nope it’s time for us to start this new chapter in our lives and spend some good times with just the two of us. I will be busy looking for a new outfit to wear to the retirement party on Friday and told DH he needs something new to wear also. I need to get some brunch started, so I hope to come back in a bit and catch up with personals. Have a great morning everyone!:waving3:

Good morning Ladies!!!
I survived yesterday. It was super hard. Not the working part but the siting part. I was a good girl and did as the warden asked. I sat. I even took photos and my son backed me up :floorlaugh: It was so hard to sit. I helped for about half hour, then sat for an hour and then helped half hour, etc. I did good. Then when we served dinner, I didn't lift anything!, I was on my feet for 90 minutes. Other then the darn compression sliding down and bunching up at my knees it was okay. I didn't hurt or feel bad. I didn't feel as bad as I expected to even with sitting. I can feel the ache today but its a normal ache that I feel every Thursday.

When will the next round of surgery be happening?? What kind of compression can you wear for the hips and thighs? I look forward to photos (I think) lol
End of May. I'm so ready to get it done and over with but I am not really ready for the thighs/hips to feel numb like my lowers do at the moment.

@AK_Tracy I don't like carrots. You should see my plate when I make chicken pot pie-- peas and coarrots pushed to the side. But I will use them in soup which would be perfect with freezing them.

You sound like my kids but its onions not carrots. They always have a pile of onion and we keep telling him the flavor is already in the food. Just eat them.

DH is home for the next 5 days so that means I only have 5 more lunches to make :yesss:. He says this is a trail run for his retirement and I might want to send him back to work after these 5 days off. WOOO HOOOO!!!!!! Just 5 more lunches! And a trial run of retirement! I cant wait for the adventures you guys will have. It will be such a special time. :heartpumppink:

Not a lot going on today. Windy, cool and maybe snow again. Some laundry for sure. Lots of sitting but that's normal. One more week and I can go back to life 100% as I feel able. Then I can tell the wardens to stop bugging me. Each day I feel more and more able so that is nice.
Need more coffee. Have a wonderful day!!

Made it to Florida, no snafus on the air travel. Almost all my trips start with this little hop from the Charlottesville airport up to Dulles. We are in the air literally 15 minutes. It's actually so close that twice, when there were mechanical problems with the plane, United put me in a cab and drove me to Dulles to get the connection. Anyway, now I'll be getting to work. Mom has appointments at two banks tomorrow, on Saturday she's got one last walk through of her condo before closing (I have to bring a small shovel to dig up St Joseph for her), Monday is the closing, and Tuesday will be recovery and anything still hanging before I go home Wednesday.

It always bothers me how tired I get from traveling. For heavens sake, I've been sitting in one chair or another for 5 or 6 hours, why should that be tiring?

That always cracks me up because they make the NJ "mountains" look like ant hills
My granddaughters, who live in Seattle, are used to seeing the Cascades and the Olympics. They refuse to call the Blue Ridge mountains. They seriously assure me they are hills.

I have to go and work up some numbers. The days just fly by!

HI Everyone,
It's been a busy week as usual. My long Wednesdays will be shortening up a bit. My Boss wanted me to put together a volunteer team to help with some of my Wednesday duties so I don't have to work such long hours. Yesterday was the first day of implementing that. Everything went j.u.s.t. fine without me, and I had some extra time here at home. I did feel guilty leaving though.

The verizon fiasco is resolved - the gal at the shop really took care of us. in addition to resolving the account problem, she got us into two new phones and upgraded our plan for literally an additional 20$/month to what we were paying. Apparently there was a surcharge we've been paying for some time to keep our old outdated plan. Go figure. But In any event, the gal at the shop redeemed the whole company.

Mark has been having low blood sugar problems, so we're dealing with that. He's missed work, and I came home today to take care of him. Lots of calls to the doctor. They took him off some medicine today, so we'll see if he feels better tomorrow.

@faerywings it's so cool that you're making your own hiking stick.
@taxed4ever Congrats on DH's upcoming retirement!
@BrightEyes hope it warms up soon and you don't blow away in all that wind! We're having significant wind here too.

Hope you all have a good rest of your day!
