Hello O-Fam and happy Thursday! I am very excited, the snow is melting and should be almost totally gone today. It's supposed to be around 50-55* for the next few days. It's about time. I really want to open the windows and get some fresh air in here. It was brutal yesterday with the wind blowing into every crack and crevice in my house- and there are many :/

Caitlyn made it to the conference and I hope she is enjoying it. In the afternoon, Sam texted to see if it was ok to drop off the eggplant slices she had fried up. Um, yes! She is such a *good* person. And a good cook ;) I made eggplant parm sandwiches for dinner. She said that he is doing well, the course is hard but is enjoying it. She also told him to "text [his] mom." but he has not. Pfft. It's all good, as long as I know he is in touch with her. Same with Caitlyn and Tom.
I finished the scarf/cowl, tried it on, and it's ok. It's not the yarn I would have chosen but I think it will look nice against my black winter coat. I'll try to get a picture of it today.

I am off to clean for my friend this morning. She was in my dreams last night. She had moved to another house and I was there to clean that one. Her best friend was also there (I had also cleaned for her years ago) and she wanted me to start up again. For $1000!!!!! My goodness, if only that could come true hahaha!! Other than that, it's going to be quiet here again.

It is:
ToT - Temptations on Thursday - "I'm tempted to stay in bed all day..." "I'm tempted by Vicki's rawkin' new kit in the store..." etc.

I have oh so many temptations: Go online and book a trip somewhere warm. Go online and order dinner tonight. Go online and buy new kitchen tiles.
(Note to self: Stay offline today, your credit cards will thank you :nod1:)

I know that you are tempted to do something wild today- even if it is simply staying in your PJs all day
Make it a great one! :hug2:

@LSlycord So happy that Syd is home safe and sound. That sounds like heaven having her fall asleep on you. I bet any amount of money that if you had to go to the bathroom or shift a little, you would have waited until you couldn't stand it anymore - just to stay connected. My family is very "huggy" too (as you all know LOL) and I know how much you must crave that when she is away.
Are you getting excited about the job starting?

Actually, I was very glad that the kids didn't have to drive in the snow. Where the rest of my family lives, they are all near highways and are commuter towns. Up here, it's totally different. My town itself is large and we have a strange mix of county roads and town roads (toss in more than a few private roads that are offshoots of other roads) and it is hit or miss when and if the roads get cleared. The county I live in is like two different worlds. It's a figure eight: Western Passaic (Up County, rural mountains where I am) and Eastern (Down County- urban and inner city.) Simply by population density and travel needs, Eastern Passiac gets first dibs on road-clearing resources. And if WM Schools are closed, the county doesn't even bother coming up until most everything else is cleared.

ummmmmm, now that you all know the snow removal trials and tribulations of Passaic County NJ, I'll shut up now.

Anyway!! I hope you enjoyed your day with the family!

@vickyday Seriously!! The wind was brutal yesterday! Are you warmer today? I hope so. Did your new needles come in?
Your group sounds like a fantastic and fun group of women. Did your new friend (I am so sorry, I can't remember her name) go as well? I love all of the coffee emojis- I am going to share some with you too #coffee-4
She is so darn cute!

@taxed4ever It is really working out well that Linda moved near you ♥ You two are getting to do so many things together. Did you enjoy the hike? Being in the sun and fresh air with good company sounds like a fine day to me

@bcgal00 What awesome scores on all of your shopping, do you have a countdown yet to your trip?
I hope that the timing works out best for you and Krystal and Jen to see each other.

:blowkiss: to everyone!

Morning O-zies... It looks like another sunshine day here today! That makes me so happy!! :heartpumplove: I did not arrive back home until almost 5pm yesterday! It was a great hike, almost 6miles or 9 klm. The sun was shining and after 15mins into the hike we were all removing a layer of clothing LOL. We had lunch at "Jakes on the Lake" a sweet restaurant that is the towns converted railway station that sits over looking where the Cowichan River runs into the Lake. I had a delicious Caesar salad with fresh prawns, so good!! Then we were off to Youbou to deliver wine to the In-Laws and have a visit with them. They both looked well and we had a great time. MIL is working on some Christmas Placemats that I requested from her a while back. So we had to go to her sewing room and pick out the material that I wanted. OMG the woman has tons of it LOL. They are still waiting for a few tests to be done at the hospital, so sure hope that they hear about going for those soon! I beat my Gary home by about 5 mins. and quickly jumped into the tub for a nice hot soak before having to get supper started. My sweet husband brought me a glass of wine to have while I soaked. "He's a keeper!!" We had a nice evening together and chatted about our day. I was in bed and fast asleep by 9:30
Today for temptation Thursday I would like to just spend the day in my most comfy clothes and stay home! Sadly I will have to leave this afternoon to go to the Post Office to pick up a parcel. Apparently they tried to deliver it to my door yesterday while I was out. Why does everything get delivered here on Wednesday?? It seems to happen a lot! Tomorrow DH will be home, he works a longer day now and that gives him every second Friday off. I think he will love having a long weekend to get more things done around here :giggle4:.

@faerywings - It sounds like the day will be lovely for you! I am so happy for you that the snow is melting away quickly!! I know you must feel relieved to know that Caitlyn made it to her Conference safely and I hope she has a wonderful time there! Scott has a great girl in Sam!! Nice that she brought you some eggplant slices!! Sounds like you had another night of dreams, but not bad ones, so that is great! Yes a cleaning job that paid $1000 sign me up please!! LOL. I hope that you have a great Thursday and I vote that you book that trip to a warm destination for your Temptation Thursday!! :nod1: Ohhh wouldn't that be nice!! Oh and I am so glad that you got your boots ordered!! I hope to hear that you are going on a hike with Scott very soon!!

Ok everyone I am off to the shower :showering:before Heather and the boys call and I end up face timing with them for most of the morning! I hope you all have a fabulous day! :waving1

I got some stinkin' upgrade on my computer last night.:busy1::rollingpin1:So instead of being a happy little computer person, I want to beat the dumb thing to death. I have all of these crazy little icons that I don't even want. First, I need to get the Microsoft teams off of my main ribbon. All I need is to accidentally start a video conference call with someone that I don't know. I did make sure that I covered the camera.

With the addition of the work computer, my desk is a bit cluttered. But, I am keeping all of my filing done so that is helping! It was cold this morning. 37° :brrr: But it is on it's way to 74 and sunny and tomorrow it will be 83. I have chosen to to complain about that!

After reading @Cherylndesigns yesterday, I ordered a new EHD. Two terabytes. And I'm moving files from 2022. Trying to make everything easier...a place for everything and everything in its place.

I also tried Kroger grocery delivery yesterday. We don't have any Kroger's in our area but they do have a warehouse where they will do next day delivery. And the delivery cost is $59 for the year. The produce was wonderful and it came exactly when it was supposed to. Got to love it when things work the way that they are supposed to work.

Ok...it's 64 now so I'm going to spend some time on the lanai. I will return for personals after another #coffee-4

Good morning ladies. Today is laundry, floor cleaning, scrapping, dog park and groceries, a quiet day. I need to figure out what appie to make for a party on Saturday. Our friends love to celebrate St. Patricks Day (green beer) so I'll wear green but am not making green food LOL.

Had a nice two hour walk thru the park yesterday and got a variety of bird photos but no sighting of the beavers or woodpeckers. I did get some photos of the bohemian waxwings.

@faerywings how nice that you finished the cowl neck scarf, show us a pic. Our countdown is 4 wks as of Sat. We'll leave about 11 am to head to Vancouver, we'll go for dinner somewhere and then start the long process of checking in for an evening flight to Ft. Lauderdale.

@taxed4ever How nice that G brought you a glass of wine in the tub. He is a keeper! That was a long hike, no wonder you needed a soak!

@LSlycord I started the same process with transferring to a large EHD but got waylaid and stopped. I need to get back to it.

I'm going to get more coffee, get dressed and get on with my day. HAGD everyone.

I'm back. Shaun made lunch for everyone. He made pasta with chicken, zucchini and lemon sauce for everything. He has become very good on cooking. Proud of him until recently. Sydney started cooking a lot when the pandemic but not Shaun. But recently he as started cooking and he is doing a pretty good job.

@faerywings I agree about no kids driving through the snow. Glad everyone is hope. And what a sweetheart Sam is. Glad that she was able to pass along that Scott was having fun. Cait is getting lots of opportunities as well. How fun to watch grown up kids! I look forward to those days...along I love having them living with me now.

@taxed4ever you and your SIL Linda are definitely living your best life. Then DH brought you a glass of wine while you were relaxing. For sure that sounds like last night was special to just sit and talk about your day! Love your DH's new schedule. I can't imagine how adventure and busy tomorrow will be!

@bcgal00 I can't believe that your cruise is only 4 weeks. That time will fly. Hope that your oldest daughter comes to visit and spend time with Jen. And then comes back again this summer for a real vacation for all of you! Good luck on getting that EHD updated with all of your files!

I'm off to get ready. We are all heading for the beach and then a restaurant for an early dinner. My ToT would have been to stay in PJs all day. But, I love every chance to spend with the kids...so here I go.

Have a great day all everyone!

The wind was basically gone today. AND it warmed up to low 60s! Ruth did not join us at the widows' meeting. I don't think she is quite ready. She had a rough day yesterday. She didn't come right out and say it, but I am sure she was missing him. I do love that coffee emoji! So cute!
Glad you got your scarf done. Can't wait to see it! I'm about 1/3 of the way done with the sweater. I did get the needles I was looking for yesterday! I knitted until about 1 a.m. Been at it since I got home this evening, too. Spent the day with Ilene and Carolyn.

We don't like the fewer hours, but Mark sure enjoys the 3 day weekends every week!
