Hey ladies! I am going to try and be quick. The house is a disaster and I want it cleaned up by the time Derek gets home. We have had an interesting morning. Addie caught hot chocolate on fire in the microwave. I ran to see what happened and it turns out there was no milk in it so the sugar just got to hot and caught on fire. By the time I got to it there was just a lot of smoke since there is hardly any air in the microwave so we opened up the windows and all was good. Just what needs to happen - for this house to catch on fire again after the last renters burnt it up and they had to do a complete remodel. The microwave isn't even messed up. I made hot chocolate the right way after that. Addie is so freaking independant. She just does and never asks for help or to get anything. Today she is wearing Derek's cowboy hat and Ethan's cowboy boots with her striped spy outfit and talking with a southern accent...and well at that. What 4 year old can talk with an accent that they don't have. She is crazy and awesome. Then she tried to ride the dog like a horse...needless to say the "horse" bucked her off.
So, Derek is getting home tonight around dinner time. I am so ready for him to be home. It wasn't horrible while he was gone but I would still rather him be home. Plus he's not a phone talker so we haven't talked on the phone more than about 5 minutes since he left. I did talk to him for a little bit last night because I needed some back up on a decision I made with Ethan. They are allowed to bring in their DSs on Friday for a game day on the last day of school and I didn't want him to take his to school and just play on it all day instead of interacting with his friends on the last day of school. He bought it himself so I wasn't worried about him losing it. He's never lost it except one time when a neighbor kid actually stole it and we got it back because we are close with the family and he was having a rough patch at that time (the neighbor who adopted her grandkids because of their bi-polar mother). So, Derek totally agreed with me and once Ethan and I talked about it he was fine with it too. Yay!! Would have been much easier to handle if Derek had been home to talk to about it. But he's not. Chris - Derek does have friends who get him into trouble and I think he could get in a little bit of trouble with these guys but they were all on a budget. I think the single guy would keep them more straight than the other married guy because he's only kinda single and has 2 kids that he doesn't live with and are coming up for the summer and he's trying to save up for their trip and stuff. Derek did say they found the best wings ever across from the Alamo. And a walking trip that had taken them 2 hours before (they got lost) took them 12 minutes so that they could get there by happy hour for the cheaper prices on wings and beer. Did I tell you guys he lost his credit card? I think I did. I am guessing I'll find it in the laundry when he gets back. Or he'll find it in the car when they return it or something. The credit card company was great and they put it on a hold instead of completely turning it off so that he could put the rental car, hotel room and something else on it. He"ll just have to call before he puts the charges through. There was no crazy spending on it so I am pretty sure it is just sitting somewhere. YOu guys know how that goes I'm sure. It will be someplace random like the freezer or behind the toilet.
Well, my quickness isn't working out so well. Lots of laundry to get put away today. I hate laundry. I don't mind getting it together and started it is the folding and putting away that is so hard. Just like everyone else.
Chris - you are crazy in that obscene heat. I hate it. I loved the spring here. It was in the 70's most of the time and I could wear flip flops without my feet getting wet most of the time. I wear flip flops year round. I remember when I went to go see Andrea in the hospital in December when Walter was born and I was wearing flip flops and a sweater while everyone else was wearing parkas and giant hats. Derek yells at me for wearing flip flops all the time. I'm trying to figure out how to get away with wearing my teva flip flops for the wedding but I think I'll have to buy some stupid fancy ones. The knee is much better thank you. I didn't ice it or take anything and just whined all day yesterday instead. It wasn't swollen just sore. And I got a pretty good deal on the phone. I got an iPhone 3G instead of the 4 and so it was only $50. I waited to get the accessories until I got home and got a case, screen protectors, etc for a much better price on amazon.
Laurie - Have fun at your haircut appt. I love getting my hair cut. I want to cut my hair so bad right now. I didn't have my usual lady do it and so it is much longer than I said I wanted it but it will be better for the wedding so I'm not cutting it until I get back home from the wedding. It is expensive to get it cut where I do, but so worth it. I get the kids' hair cut there too and their price is pretty decent for kids. Only a few bucks more than Walmart and a much better cut. EHT only problem is it is all the way on the other side of town and takes a good 30-40 minutes to get there.
Kristy - Good luck at the dentist. I just made appointments for my kids for while we are in Washington. The dentist is so great that they ask to go there. I love it. I have to figure out how to keep them at the dentist in Washington so I don't have to find a place here. Not sure if I can pull it off but it is worth a shot. Plus we will be back there in December so I can take them back for their next one after that. Yay!!
Okay all...I am off to get housework done. Booooo! I sure wish Chris lived here so I could hire her.
ToT - Party at Molly's!!! Whoooooo!! I can dream.
We're getting this ball sprinkler thing set up so the kids can play in the water today.
