Good morning and welcome to Thursday.
Maybe, just maybe we might get through 24 hours without rain .
I can't tell if it is cloudy or more of the smoke haze right now. But it isn't supposed to rain and that is a big plus on my side. I am keeping my fingers crossed that if it dries out a little today, Gary and I can go for a hike tomorrow since it's been weeks since we did. I want to break in my new backpack
Yesterday was a good day, several small victories for me. I am still bagging and boxing up clothes and household items to donate to the Vets and get this... I got a large bag of Gary's clothes packed too! Every time I asked him to do that, he blew me off. I took it upon myself to pull a bunch of jeans and shirts out of the closet, put them on the bed, and let him choose what to keep-- and he only kept two shirts.
Another victory was the septic tank. *sigh of relief* The guy said that the tank itself is fine but if we are finding it is filling too quickly, just pump it every year. Whew!!!! I'll gladly spend $300 a year over replacing the septic which is $50K. This time next year, I expect it will just be the two of us here. Fewer showers/dishes/laundry so that will help too.
[heart breaks a bit]
I am going to be puttering about here and doing yard work this afternoon. I think I am making falafel tonight. I have to pump myself up to do it- they are so delicious but time-consuming. I haven't made them in a really long time but after having one from a deli a few weeks ago, I have been craving them non-stop.
Oh wait, I think I need to soak the beans-- yup. Just checked the recipe, so that will be tomorrow.
Temptation on Thursday:
Now I am tempted to run out and buy falafel for lunch LOL!
