Happy Thursday, O-zies!
Am I feeling better today? Not really. But I am feeling more determined to speak out. I guess that is good?
My MIL and I are going to a Families Belong Together March on the 30th. That helps me feel like I am using my voice to amplify outrage. I also cried last night. I can't remember if any of you are watching The Handmaid's Tale so I won't spoil anything but I couldn't stop crying. Margaret Atwood is one of my favorite dystopian authors and I swear, she must be psychic. I went to bed with one scene replaying in my head and woke up with it too.

I also tried to keep myself busy yesterday. House cleaning here and for my neighbor. I was sad for him too- one of his cats died. Nargal was the one who was lost for a couple of weeks in the winter. He ended up having lymphoma and he died the night before. Gary helped him bury him and I brought some lilies to put on the grave. But somehow, sharing pain helps us all. I also finished my LO for the July Challenge I am hosting. So I would say a "successful" day by Faery Standards. :)

Today I am finishing some more house cleaning and I have to run to the Food Pantry. Yard work if I am lucky. I want to do a bit more scrapping if I can.

Wishing you all very lovely day!

Trudy- aw, that is too bad about the weather and the hike not cooperating. But I would feel the same. I am (attempting to) doing the Summer Yoga/Walking activities again and this morning is the Meditation Walk that I loved. I have been fighting with myself to go (I bailed) and it is only 15 minutes away.

Do you have blackberry bushes? Bet your pies are good! I wish that you would be enjoying them on a happier occasion :(

I am glad that I am not the only one "not feeling it" with the Challenge prep.

Rae- Oh no, I am so so soooo sorry to hear this about Bailey. You have all of the good thoughts and every bit of positive energy that I can muster. Maybe once the IV treatment starts things will improve. That brain has some truly amazing capabilities and I hope that she improves in time. All of my love to you and to Jen.

Felis- what a cute little hedgehog! I love that photo of you, adorable! I hope that they stay safe and I know for sure that you will do everything that you can to help them.
The stories that are being reported are absolutely horrifying about the separation. I have heard babies 3 months, 9 months... taken away. Over 2300 children are separated and the govt has *no plans* on reuniting them with their parents. :hurt:

Jean- hope that your day was nice and I am happy that DH had a good b-day!

good morning - The news in my country is very depressing with this separation of families. As far as I can tell USA is a country of immigrants and to see now that we are trying to forget this is really not what most in this country believe. The two senators from NJ both care about this the same way I do. And our governor signed an executive order saying he would not be sending any National Guard resources to help Trump's agenda at the border. I think this is awesome. But then one reads that our government is going to decrease Medicare and Medicaid to balance the budget when they just gave a huge tax relief to the wealthy. Why am I surprised? So because of all this yesterday I was absent as I was having a bit of a me day. This winter I quit shaving my legs and it made showering so much quicker and easier. So I have been debating wether have my legs waxed. You hear about the pain and how does one decide where to go. Turns out my girlfriend's daughter goes and so I went there and why did I not do this before. It was not half as painful as I thought and this is so much smoother that when I shave. I am so happy. Also did not have to cook as we went to Panera's. It was such a lovely night we ate outside. Temp was perfect. Then came home and watched the NHL hockey awards. My team had two players up for awards Taylor Hall for Ted Lindsay and the Hart and Brian Boyle for the Masterson award. Brian Boyle won the Masterson for his perseverance in facing his leukemia battle and his son's jaw malformation while still playing hockey at a high high level. And he won it on his wedding anniversary. He gave a very emotional speech. And then we had to wait for the very last award to be present the Hart and yes my Devil Taylor Hall won. It was so close between him and Nathan MacKinnon and both had really really outstanding years but I am glad my player won. He is the first NJ Devil to win the Hart. While my players winning was great it was really an exceptional awards ceremony as they also paid tribute to the Las Vegas First responders from the Vegas Oct 1 shooting, they brought in the Parkland hockey team as this is so close the Florida Panthers and many Panther players live in this area and then the Humbolts hockey players who survived the horrible bus crash. I love how much the hockey players and clubs do for their communities. So now on Friday and Saturday the NHL will hold it player draft. Then on July 1 free agency begins and then perhaps the season is over. Had a good walk with Luther. It was meandering and the weather was nice so very enjoyable. Not much going on today. Hopefully some scrapping.

Chris it is terrible in our country but what you are doing I hope lifts your spirit! It lifts mine! I read the Handmaid's Tale and I keep meaning to watch. There are so many shows on my list.

Trudy I know what you mean about spending so much time driving. At least when we drove my SIL around while we had been before she had not so it was seeing it through someone else's eye.

Rae I am sending prayers and good thoughts for sure for all of you! I am so sorry you got disheartening news. But as others have said the brain is an amazing organ and anything can change.

Jean happy belated birthday to your DH. Glad it was awesome!

Felis that photo is too cute! Wow 5 little hedgehogs. We had ground hog babies one summer and to watch them grow was the fun of the summer.

Have a great day all!

Morning O-zies!! It is sunny but a bit breezy here this morning. Not much happening today, but I will meet up with SIL Linda and give her the sympathy cards that I have for Aunt Marion's family. When my mother passed on Aunt Marion enclosed two very beautiful poems in the card that she made for me, she always made her own cards and the poems were also printed on very special little cards. So I still had these and decided to make copies and passed them along to her son and daughter enclosed in the cards that I made. I hope that they bring some comfort to them! Swimming this morning then off to meet up with Linda, other than that perhaps some scrapping and I need to water the back garden. It is amazing how dry it has gotten already!

Chris - I hope that you are feeling happier soon, it is so heartbreaking what is going on in your country right now! I hope that your March goes well! Perhaps the yoga walks will help you to meditate and think of more positive things in your life? My heart also breaks for those families that are torn apart! No I do not personally have blackberry bushes on my property, but there are many bushes all over the countryside. I hate to pick them as they are difficult to get to and they have sharp barbs on the branches. So I always get a huge bucket of them from a lovely First Nations Woman that lives not far from us. She does pretty well selling her berries. That is sad about your neighbour's cat, but how nice of you to help him out with the burial and flowers, you are good neighbours!!

Nancy - A busy time with hockey awards and now soon the hockey drafts too! I saw that the Humboldt Bronco survivors were at those awards in Vegas, it is great that they are all such a tightly knit bunch that support each other! Congrats on your Devils getting their awards! Nice to have dinner outside with your friend and even nicer that you got your legs waxed and are now ready for summer!

Felis - That photo is just awesome of you and the cute little hedgehog! I hope that the Mom is able to relocate them and that they stay safe! I know you will do all you can to make sure that they are not disturbed! I hope you had a lovely evening!

Rae - I too am hearbroken over your news of B! I hope that things do improve for her, you never know what the brain is capable of. It took almost 10 years for my Heather to get to the point of being able to live on her own again so please do not give up hope!!

Jean - So glad that you enjoyed the video! It is tragic how they used to clear cut log here on the Island, the practices are better now, but still so many old growth forests gone forever! Yes blackberry pie is my son's and my husband's favortie! I love it too, but there is too much sugar in it for me have any :mmph: DH and I are both starting to get more excited about our upcoming trip, just wish he would go and get the shots in knees before we leave so he will be a bit more pain free!

Another cup of coffee and then I need to get my swim bag ready to go, have a lovely day everyone, I hope you are inspired to do some scrapping today!

Sunny here for now with pleasant temperatures which should make for a nice day. Rain is coming though and DH may not be able to do his bird survey tomorrow morning.

Chris, glad you found an activity in which to express your outrage. It is impossible to read anything about our country's treatment of immigrants without that reaction. Add to that the lies on top of lies and it's a wonder our heads aren't truly exploding. I don't know what yoga/meditation things you want to do, but sure hope you're trying something. So even cleaning can be therapy for you, not just dirt. Glad you and G could be of help to your neighbor.

Nancy, super that those Devils won the awards. Hard to imagine the hockey season still ongoing for you in those ways.

Trudy, hope the pool was nice and open for you. What you did with the poems in the cards is so sweet, I know they'll be appreciated. Hope we all get inspired to scrap.

Felis and Rae,
