Tuesday the part for the car got there about 6 PM, so they finished it up Wed. morning. Meanwhile, Tues. afternoon DH cut the front grass and then had the electric lawnmower give up the ghost. I didn't know he'd been having trouble with it. Wed. when we got the car we did our real grocery shopping then he went out to look at some lawnmowers but went for online ordering one that comes with a backup battery. Right now I've got a loaf of apple nutty bread in the oven so it'll be nice and fresh tomorrow for his birthday. Doesn't look like we're going to do anything much for it. Sigh. Actually he never wants a fuss and even less so for this advanced age. Yesterday afternoon my one genealogy group that has been chatting on Zoom since the before times met and we had a great time exploring the whiteboard feature at Zoom that almost none of us knew about.
Chris, sorry to hear about Scott's dilemma. So tough when there is nothing you can do to "fix" it. As to the blueberries, at least try the netting again. It's not the same, but the silky dogwood we have that gets blue fruits often gets them eaten green by the squirrels, but the birds we want to come only seem to like them ripe and blue. Sort of a can't win thing. For the luau, I don't know that I have any real ideas, but you seem to have it covered with pineapple, banana and coconut plus whatever meat you'll eat. Do you have leis to wear? Actually, doing a search I find that if you have cabbage to hand you could do some sort of quick kimchee, maybe also fried rice or sweet potatoes. Sounds like such fun.
Kay, sweet that DD came to visit when back from AZ. Glad to hear the coughing is reduced but the other things doing well. Was today a day to go to the base?
Trudy, your kitchen is just as I expected: the before looked perfectly nice, but WOW is it super now. So light and airy and big. As you say, worth all the work. How was the hike? Was it fun hanging those items along the way? (And are there photos?)
Nancy, I lose all track of time. Is it time yet for DH's other eye? How's Luther doing as it heats up.
Felis, waying HI!
