Its Flag Day here in the USA:americanflag:americanflag:americanflag

It is also Thursday and one day closer to sleeping late on Saturday. And **finally* * i wake up to sun instead of rain. We have been drenched the last few days (weeks??)

Tonight is Cait's promotion dance, at a Country Club on a lake west of our town. I think it is where an old friend of mine had her wedding reception and if it is, it was beautiful. Of course, that means Cait and I are arguing over dress/shoes etc. The dress that I thought she was going to wear is now not dressy enough. She also brought home her robes for Graduation, declared it ugly (it is) and that she does not want to participate. Kids these days, man! They are killing me!!

:D

Tonight is my very beautiful god-daughter's graduation, also from 8th grade, but her school treats it as a tiny step below HS graduation. I am so proud of her, she is just growing up in a fantastic way, even if it feels way to fast for me. Her mom, my BFF, is very emotional about it so I am sending her virtual tissues, cuz she is going to need them!

I can now understand why on my wedding day, I had no tears but was consoling both of my parents who were very emotional all day.

Temptation on Thursday
I want to go to the shore!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need waves, and salty air, and sun......

laurie- good morning! you are so good onthe walking. I am trying to make the effort to add as many steps as I can now that the weather is nice. I'll park as far away as possible, take the long way,. and so on. I wish I had the dedication and stamina to do 2 miles every day. You rock!!!!

Eva- its true, isn't it?? We are a lot alike!
Gary has that happen to him, the reversed sleep cycles. Its so hard on him and me. Hope that your DS can come back out of it easily. But ITA-- at this moment, its not worth stressing him and you out. Baby steps (if I had a quarter for ever time I said that, I'd be rich enough to come and visit you and say it in person LOL) and it will work itself out.
My guys got their summer reading/social studies assignments and neither of them are happy, as always. Two books, two reports, plus a social studies project. I am not even going to look into it until after school is done.

Phyllis- great quote! A few weeks ago, I tried to explain to Gary the difference between "worthless pain" and "worthwhile pain." I am in worthless pain every day. But at least when I am doing something, especially something that I enjoy like gardening, it becomes worthwhile pain. Might be a bit more painful, but at least it is in context of doing something as opposed to nothing.
Hope the title transfer went smooth for you, we need to do the one on scott';s car in July. What a nasty man to serve papers on mothers day.

Kristy- I saw two pages from you yesterday for the challenges, I loved them!! Keep going!

Maureen, hope that your ankle is better and that the dr was able to help. Your staycation sounds divine!! Can I come too? (see my temptation LOL)

Trudy- whew!! Good news you escaped from the evil clutches and confusion of walmart :D
How was work? I wish that they would get their scheduling act together. Its sounds exhausting to have those long hours, esp when you are insisting that your are PT!!!

OK my dear friends, have a wonderful day!!!!
xoxoxo

morning O fam- a new day, a new day!! Got my walk in and have a list- yes I know- but I can't think or move or do anything after work on my days I work. So today lots to accomplish- I will talk myself through this!!

The Lord sure loves me. I was just thinking I needed to get out in the garden and take care of the weeds. Two seconds later - the rain started POURING - like bucket sized raindrops. Thank you Lord! :D

Today I really should get my SIM card. Yes ... you've heard me say that before LOL

Tempation today: Cheerio!

Morning Ladies... A nice short 4hr shift for me today and tomorrow 7-11 gotta love it!! So I will have the better part of the day to get some weeding done. Or if its not nice outside I will be catching up on some CT work and hopefully browsing the beautiful work here at the "O"!!

Chris - Happy flag day!! :americanflag: It always amazes me how many graduation ceremonies they have for the kids now! When I was in school (we won't say how many years ago that was!!) We had one graduation and that was from grade 12, we didn't have prom or grade school grad, or kindergarten grad, just one ceremony. I don't know how anyone can afford more than that? Hope you get to the shore and soak up that wonderful healing sunshine!!

Laurie - You put us all to shame with your dedication to your walking!! Hope you get everything on your list crossed off!

Eva - LOL Hope you get your SIM card today!!

Well off to get some breakfast and then off to work, I hope that you all have a wonderful day full of good things!!

So I took the plunge- I ordered an entire pallet of redout salt delivered- an extra $30, but now I won't have to think about salt for months- well except for keeping the softner filled. We used soft water to fill the spa last week and now I have - yup- for those who live with iron in their water- orange toilets!! No laundry today until it regenerates to take the red out! Fearful that the delivery will cause the dog to have breathing issues again.

Morning all...

Well, my heel has a 'pump bump' even though I almost never wear shoes with backs, much less pumps. Not serious but I also have an appnt - July 5 ! - with the podiatrist, hopefully for a cortisone shot. What I have to do now is stretch, stretch, stretch that heel as in the runners' stretch or with my heels hanging over a step. Not bad, just boring.

I'm working on my Italian album and enjoying that - so far. Otherwise, plant the herbs I got last Sunday. Sounds like shades of the 20 strawberry plants my be my tune!

Back shortly.

Hello there

I'm not a regular here, but I love to come and read your news :)

Chris - "kids these days" LOL we have a similar idiom in French ... the thing is it's been around for a while so I guess every generation has its specificities

Laurie - Good luck on working through your list

Eva - I love how you turn terrible weather into a positive event ! keeping my fingers crossed about the SIM card ;)

Trudy - I see you've had a good day planned whatever the weather decides for you ;)

Maureen - It's always such a burden to get an appointment for those specialists ... hope you don't suffer too much

Out here nothing much ... I'm dead tired and have a monster headache and had a meeting cancelled at the last minute at work (which I hate because I'm always in a rush to prepare everything and they always cancel it after I have everyhitng ready !!!)
Yesterday evening, Hélène (12 & 1/2) was crying in her bed ... and we found out it was a heart ache issue ... poor thing ... :( I had a small talk with her this morning trying to cheer her up while trying not to minimize the event ... I hope it worked

I was wondering if any of you had news from LindaS, I haven't read anything from her in a while and I'm a bit worried about her ... :-?

Back...

Chris - Enjoy the graduation ceremonies. I have to say I agree that it gets to be a bit much when they start graduation hoopla in pre-school and kindergarten. By the time it's HS, the ceremonies become old hat.

Totally forgot about Flag Day. Our flag is down as it, once again, is shredded on the end where it catches on the gutter gards. :(

Laurie, do some walking for me. I need to find a pair of shoes here that give me support but have no back. I was told there are backless running shoes. How bizarre! I lived with iron filled water once and you should have seen the white horse across the street when that family first moved in. Eeek! I did keep outside water that was unfiltered for drinking as we didn't want that massive salt intake. I love the taste of water with iron.

Eva, I had the same thing happen when I was through with a bunch of planting and wanted a break. Yea! Rain!

Trudy, glad you have short days. Summer is too nice to miss being out a bit. But weeding…lord, does it ever end!

I hope everyone can share some of the unbelievable weather we're having... mild, dry and a slight breeze. The way summer SHOULD be! ciao...Maureen

salt delivered and I got 7 free bags- well worth the delivery charge- worked on home blessing while I was waiting. Dog barked and barked and barked- and is calm now- so happy as last week this would have been a breathing spell! Perhaps we will be successful in X-ray on Saturday. Okay off to town for errands!
