The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Good morning to you all!
I am mentally so much better. Physically- a bit rough. I was on my feet a lot yesterday and I feel it. My ankle is acting up as well as my back and shoulders. But was it worth it? Heck, yeah!
Christmas was so much fun.
We started the day with almond croissants, mimosas, and cookies. (Gary had an egg) Then we set up the tree. We had our Santa hats on, played Christmas music. We cheered the tree when we were done. Cait and I got busy in the kitchen and around 4 we opened presents. Gary "shopped" in the basement and we each got mini-Dremel sets and LED lights. ha!!! Scott gave me one of his Calvin and Hobbes books which he is not getting back just yet ;) We rewrapped the toys we gave to the dogs for Dog Appreciation Day and they unwrapped them again. We couldn't leave them out on Christmas.
We couldn't find out Rudolph VHS and no one wanted to go back into the attic to search so we watched An Always Sunny in Philadelphia Christmas. Totally inappropriate but hysterical.

I am cleaning the kitchen up today and then I want to maybe work on scrapping, getting used to the new ACDSee to see if I want to buy it.

Hoping everyone has a fantastic day!

Felis- When will you get a break from the heat? Looks like today will be the last day in the heat wave for my area. I hope it cools a bit by you so you can enjoy your days as well as summer nights. I think a lot of people get grumpy in the heat.
You should know that cats will only ever think of you as their servants hahaha!!! Poor Liam, I remember struggling with clipping their nails and can't imagine trying to get a thrown from a tail.
I have been trying to not think about not getting to a beach/ocean at all this summer. My mom and I had plans to go down to the same hotel we stayed at last year but do several nights instead of the one night we did last year. Even though NJ is still holding steady with COVID cases, it isn't safe for either of us, but especially her, to go anywhere. Next year... I hope...

Trudy- your Gary never stops, does he? Make sure he takes care of his knees so he isn't stiff when you go whale watching.
Bwuhhahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe it is the name. My Gary and his dad- also Gary- will research *every last detail* before they do anything, so sorry you have to deal with that too.
If you or Rae have any GF recipes, please share them!

Nancy- yay for hockey!!!!!! Do you think that they will do better than MLB? I hope so. Was it weird watching games in July?
Oh my goodness, you really have flown through series of Longmire! It was one of my favorite shows.
I haven't been in much of a mood to cook either. :/
Fantastic that you have been able to get some pictures and human interaction *G* on your walks.

Some of the other funny gifts- I gave Scott a penguin statue. He liked them years ago, but got them every year-- waaaaay past the time he liked them. Cait wrapped up Scott's old BB gun and hid it in the corner and started to reenact the scene from A Christmas Story which I helped out by playing the role of Mother and she was the Old Man.
I gave Gary a box of BandAids and a cold compress. And Caitlyn gave me a bottle of Allegra since she offers them to me every time I get hives from the rats. LOL

I think I hear my kitchen calling to be cleaned-- should I ignore it?
HAGD!! xo

Good morning ladies... it will be a real hot one today and then hopefully it will cool off a couple of degrees for the weekend!! DH got porch and stairs stained yesterday, but they might need a third coat :mmph: Today he has a Dentist appt. and we are getting a visit from my Cousin Blair this afternoon. He lives in Port Alberni, but him and his wife are house sitting for a friend in Victoria, so he is coming here on his new Motorcycle. His wife will be visiting a friend in Mill Bay that is vacationing there. It will be good to see him again, we haven't seen him since the 50th wedding Anniversary of his brother and wife that we attended in the spring before COVID19. Hopefully we will be able to sit outside without melting in the heat! I think I will make a coffee cake for him and my DH to enjoy, not low carb so I will have to have something else or nothing at all. LOL. I need to get a few things done for month end here at the O too. Yesterday I actually enjoyed some alone time and did a set of coasters and matching trivet. It was good to be painting again!!

Chris - Your Christmas in July night sounds like so much fun, but also a lot of work LOL. It sounds like it did wonders to improve your state of mind and your mood!! Hopefully the heat wave will end for you and you can get outside a bit more! I had to giggle about the penguin statue for Scott! For years my MIL gave the kids collectable plates and they hated them LOL. Neither one of them kept them (don't tell my MIL).

Ok DH is ready for his breakfast and coffee on the deck , so I will get going and come back soon. Have a great morning everyone!

Going to be a really hot one today... up in the high 90's. Was enjoying a few days before only in the mid-80's with some rain showers in afternoon/night that cooled things down. So glad my A/C is fixed before this heat wave arrived!!

I got my appointment with the new Gastroenterology doc set up yesterday... it won't be until the end of Sept but that is fine with me. Hope the family situation will be settled by then. LOL as it is with the Clinic that diagnosised my reflux problem back about 13 years ago. It will be a ZOOM appt so won't have to go into the clinic for it.

Had a nice long phone conversation with DD#3 last evening. She is renovating her patio chairs and making new cushion covers. She asked some sewing questions then we talked about family. It was good for both of us... only drawback is my BP was up afterwards. Glad it was back down this AM. So my BP meds are doing their job to bring it back down.

Trudy, I saw those lovely costers you made over on FB... love the colors. Glad you and DH got the stain on the stairs and porch done. Sounds like a fun time with family.

Chris, glad you and the family had so much fun with your Christmas theme day. LOL over some of the 'presents' you exchanged!

Have to go to the grocery store and drop off some mail today. I avoid the GS on weekends and later in the day due to crowds so I need to get going soon. Hope you all have a good day.

good morning - no walk today as I had to go to the grocery store. OMgosh we needed so much and I hate shopping but I was out in an hour. I hate confrontations but a young girl was going the wrong way in the aisles and I mentioned to her and she said every one was but as I went through the store she was the only one. OH well at least she was wearing a mask. Yesterday with hockey was fun. And today more but not until 4pm so I will be watching Longmire until then. A new restaurant opened in our town. It is a just taco restaurant and omgosh so so good. Fun to support a new business at a time when others are going out of business.

Chris sounds like Christmas did you all good. It is such a fun time of the year. The gifts all sounded so perfect. Yummy food too! And kitchen can wait!

Trudy have fun with the meet up today. How nice to get to also do some painting.

Waving to all
Gratitude
made it through another grocery store trip
hockey and more hockey

Hi Kay - we are hot here in NJ too! How nice to talk to DD. I too got a lot of my doctor visits scheduled. It is a relief. Have a good day!
