Good morning to you! I am moving slowly again today. Although I guess I am not physically moving yet, just mentally very sluggish. This waking up between 4-5 am is the pits. :/ I'd drink coffee all day if it were so hot and humid. Heat indexes will be well over 90* -- the actual temp is supposed to be close to 90 and who knows how gross the humidity is going to be. I feel for all of you who have been living this all summer already.

Yesterday, I really wished I had slept better, it was kind of chaotic. BFFs mom was ok, they did CT scans again and she was released. I spoke to my mom about my dad's appt and didn't get any real additional info. The Dr didn't want to give any additional diagnosis until he gets the results back from the MRI/MRA. I found out that my friend's (the neighbor I clean for) mom passed away a couple of days ago. She was almost 96 but it still has to be very, very sad.

I finally had a little time to scrap before dinner and I downloaded a new kit from Foxeysquirrel. When I went to extract and tag it in ACDsee- I saw that an entire folder of her kits was gone. I searched for it in ACDsee, searched for it in Windows, my Recycle Bin. It's *poof!* gone. I keep all of the kits that I am working on for my Foxeysquirrel CT separate from Oscraps CheeryO stuff and I recently had seenthe folder. It took me a long time to figure out how to get it from my backup storage but I got that done-- the downside is that all of the tags/metadata were removed. But I *think* I have it all back, just going to take a while to get it all re-tagged. It will be interesting if I figure out if I lost anything else. :oops2:

That's it from me.
Hope you all have a fab day!

@LSlycord This parenting gig-- not for the faint-hearted is it? ;)
The house is quite small and only 1 bath so I don't see it as a forever house. But if it's just the two of them, maybe it will be. Cait's first priority is where she will keep the rats. Sheesh, I am going to miss them too.
Hope that you have a lot of fun stuff planned with Syd and Shaun in the next few weeks. She is still about the same distance to school as she was in the last house, IIRC? She'll come back home soon. :hug3:
(I know it is not the same as having her under the same roof but trying to look on the bright side for ya!)

@Nonni F Thanks!! I know that once it's painted and they have their spooky decorations up, it's going to be amazing. They both consider Halloween to be year-round. :giggle4:
Hope that things have settled down at work for you.

@Cherylndesigns As you know-- there's a lot that can still get them tripped up- home inspections/well/septic but *fingers are crossed that it goes smoothly* and maybe I'll have lots of pictures to scrap in a few months.

Oh, that reminds me, did you all see that @nancyr has a new grandson!!! She posted some pages of him in the gallery and he is a gorgeous little one ♥ Not sure if she'll pop in here or not but I knew that everyone would be happy for her.
Congrats to you and your family, Nancy!

I love the sound of windchimes but the keyword is occasionally. Several of my neighbors have them and I have a very small set but none of them are loud enough to annoy me completely ;)

@BrightEyes Well, look at you in your new avatar! How old are you in the photo?
I never thought of that trick-- putting the photo and journaling down first and then scrapping around it later. (probably because I don't typically journal? LOL) But how smart of you to do that. I'm going to keep that in mind when I come across pictures I want to scrap.

Kay, Vicky, and everyone-Thanks for the house excitement! It makes me feel happier about it too.

@vickyday Congrats on the wedding anniversary :heartpumppink:
That stinks that it was too hot to enjoy the ride. Is it supposed to cool down at all soon? Hope so!

Unfortunately, it's supposed to be 4* higher today than yesterday! At least we got back home and I got cooled down before I got a headache from it!
Thanks for the congrats!

Good morning my beautiful friends!
Been sitting on the deck this morning and as we speak! Just enjoying my coffee and the activities around the bird feeder and flowers. There has been a nice breeze but I feel the temperature rising so it's about time to go inside and start some lunch.

No plans for the day. Going to work on my pictures from the last couple of days. I need to catch up on my pages of our bike rides and stay inside where it's cool

Have a great day!

Thanks, Chris! I was 26 in the photo. This is one of the photos I am using on the Genecology page along with other family members. And I realized last evening that I had left off one member - so will be looking for a photo of my uncle so I can add him to the page. So many of Aunt Mary's photos are about places they lived and adventures they had. Many need to be grouped together to tell the story of that place and have journaling done about it. I usually don't do much journaling but the family stories need it. I am finding this method - photos and journaling first - is working very well. I already have 3 pages started this way. I don't feel overwhelmed by the number of photos still to be scanned - I will scan the ones that are about each story when I am ready to work on it. I am lucky that Aunt Mary told me about many of them over time.

When I am doing CT pages, I will use the kit then look for photo/s that will work with it and they don't usually have much journaling. Speaking of them, are you all ready for Color Play??? Wow, love the colors and the collections this month!!! They really have got my mojo going. dance3

Good morning ladies. I am sitting here all clammy and sweaty and the temps are only 70. Ugh. It sure will be interesting this winter to see if I can wear my sweaters since I am always so hot now (not in a good way but in a sweaty way LOL). By the time it reaches the 80-90s in the afternoon I am just a dripping mess. Thank goodness for short hair :)

I went with a friend to a produce farm an hour away and it is wonderful. They have lots of flowers and produce with a little zoo with mini horses, donkeys, goats, sheep and llamas. I brought my macro lens and enjoyed taking flower photos. It was a joy to see so many blooms, it reminded me of the community garden I used to go to, Colony Farm, when I lived on the coast. I took tons of photos and chatted with the manager who asked if I could send them some. I always enjoy sharing my photos.

Soon I'll head out to visit a friend, we'll sit outside in the shade for a bit until it starts to get too hot. Then I'll get groceries and come home for the afternoon. We'll be in the pool after lunch to cool off.

So far, so good, with backblaze doing a backup of photos. I have another week of the trial, so if all goes well, I will sign up and have the ongoing backup. I am only backing up one external and will slowly start moving photos from other drives onto the main one. Then I will get another high volume EHD for when that fills up. I'm tired of having photos on so many drives, I want to streamline the storage.

@faerywings Glad you got the folder back. I don't tag anything in acdsee b/c I haven't figure out how to do the backup and restore if anything goes missing or crashes.

I'd better get out with the dogs for a bit before I head out for the morning. Hope you all enjoy the day ahead.

Good afternoon all.
Quick in and out for me - I'm trying to get stuff put away for Casey to clean. LOL I'm not even sure she's coming today but I needed to declutter anyway. I've been working of lots of Color Play pages, as Kay @BrightEyes said, it's particularly awesome this month and my mojo has been working overtime. Every time I think I'm done, there's a new collection and I can't resist.

Chris @faerywings I know there's a hopefully not too long a road ahead for the kids. I was in real estate in another life (I'm not sure I ever told you girls that) and trust me, things can and do fall through. It's pins and needles until those final papers are signed. I had some pretty crazy deals, but we always managed to squeak most of them through. I had one deal that was so rough that I felt like I had given birth on closing day. :floorlaugh::floorlaugh: That's a tough, but rewarding profession.

Ava's home and the others will be home tonight - Ava, Adrienne and I are going into town about 3:30 so I had to get ready to go just in case Casey comes because they have the bathrooms tied up while they're here. Now, if she doesn't come, I'm ready to go.

Have a good THURSDAY everyone. THURSDAY, THURSDAY :floorlaugh:

@BrightEyes is that the aunt and uncle that didn’t have kids and took you places with them when you were little? Your pages are beautiful right now.

@faerywings Syd is still the same distance from school so we will still see her plenty, even if we need to go to Gainesville to take her to lunch to make it happen. how far is Cait’s house from yours? Not too far I hope.
