GooooOd mOrning, Ooos!

Is it any wonder why I never have a clue what day it is? All of my plans got upended yesterday thanks to the weather. I was going to hang out at BBFs pool for the day. I showered, shaved my legs, and got dressed in "real" clothes when she texted that it was raining by her. I was supposed to be cleaning today but asked my friend if I could go on Friday instead. That got switched and now it's 8.30 am and I have the entire day ahead of me, at least after I picked up my groceries.
It wasn't super hot so I decided to go on a hike, same place but a different trail. The second I stepped into the woods, I could smell the mushrooms. Just damp, dirt, and mushrooms. I tried to get some pictures of some of them, so many bright colors and black frilly ones. I saw this little guy:

There were actually two of them with the dots and a chunk taken out that looked like a face.
I didn't see anything especially interesting, I could tell that there were frogs in a few of the deeper puddles, you could see the bubbles coming to the surface from the leaves underwater. And I heard a "plop" but didn't see it. I am amazed that I am not covered in mosquito bites, they were brutal and annoying, buzzing in my ears and near my eyes. I learned an important lesson: If a mosquito is buzzing near your newly pierced ear, do *not* slap at it.

Plans for today are seeing BFF. Scott and Sam are leaving PA after lunch. My parents are meeting them for lunch and then they'll head home after.
I need to finish a LO and upload that before I head out myself. I was almost finished with it yesterday but something wasn't sitting right so I figured I'd sleep on it. As soon as I woke up this morning, -or maybe it was in the middle of the night? All I remember is that it was still dark- I decided that I was going to swap the photo. I have two pictures of the milkweed flowers and I think the closeup one will look better than the one I have on the page already.

My dinner plans also got switched around- I made black bean burgers and Mexican street corn. A Modelo on the side. Delish.
Today will be leftovers. At least I have that covered.

@vickyday are your tomato plants all from seeds dropped last year? Just look at all of them!! I wish I lived nearby, I'd take a Ziploc of them too I am also very jealous of your lawn. Mine is more weeds than grass.

I am not a fan of angel food cake, but I should be able to sub-white cake mix? And the blueberries I have are frozen, they are the tiny ones. I got a 2 lb bag from the FP and I am not crazy about blueberries themselves (it's the seeds, I can't/won't eat berries because of the seeds/texture. I know, I am weird). Could I mix the thawed berries into the pudding maybe?

I love Dirt Pudding. It's one of the few desserts I can make when I go to my brother's since Christopher is allergic to tree nuts and everything I make typically has nuts in them.

@bcgal00 Hope that the haircut is helping you stay cool. Do you have one of those wraps that stay cold? I don't know what they are called, but Scott has them in his pack. You know what I am talking about?

@Cherylndesigns I fritter most of my days away. You are always so busy, sometimes it is nice to putter. That's awesome that your tomatoes are coming back. I have found more than a few half-eaten green tomatoes on the patio. Mine are now so tall that I can't reach the tops to prune them. (yeah yeah, I know that's not saying much ) I put extra cages and stakes in there just to keep them upright.
all of this talk of lemon and cool whip reminds me of a good summer pie I used to make when I was first married. Frozen lemonade and cool whip with a graham cracker crust. There might be more to it than that but it was nice and cool and refreshing.

@BrightEyes Are you supposed to get any break in the heatwave soon? Thank goodness for the AC.

BTW- I read the Theme Song Thread yesterday and have been thinking about what song would be mine since then. All I can come up with is Crazy Train and I Wanna Be Sedated

Go for it! What do you have to lose? Someone will eat it, I am sure!
I can eat angel food cake covered up in the recipe the way it is.....or with strawberries and cool whip.....but I don't like eating it by itself. It tastes weird to me by itself. So, you are not alone. I would think you could sub the white cake.....or maybe pound cake even! MAYBE even lemon cake! Since you mix the lemon pudding with cool whip and cream cheese, the lemon flavor is not too strong, so I would think adding the lemon cake would be OK. Actually, I might have to give that a try the next time I fix it! And I would think you could LIGHTLY fold the thawed blueberries into the lemon pudding! If you mix them too much, the blueberries might totally break apart!
And that Lemon Blueberry Crescent Ring looks WONDERFULLY GOOD!

Good Morning!
I can't believe how early I have been waking up this week! But, I've been going to bed much earlier than usual, too. Abby went to bed around 10 last night. She turns a Disney movie on but is asleep within 5 minutes, LOL!

Today we are on the schedule to eat lunch with papaw Mark. We had a good time with Abby's mom yesterday. We went to Abby's house and picked her mom up (my 3rd child) and Liz treated us to lunch. I wanted to treat but Liz insisted treating "since I was keeping her child all week!" I didn't argue. After lunch we went back to her house and Liz and I played a game of Qwirkle while Abby did some lovin' on her dogs and got some clothes for church.

Tonight I'm going to fix chicken and salad for supper.

As far as scrapping goes, I need to get my challenge for August set up. But first I need to check to see what challenge I signed up for, LOL! And I want to work on Momma O's July challenge. I need to get that done before Abby gets up.....or at least started!

Good morning ladies. I'm heading upstairs to get dressed and put a load of laundry in. This morning I'm taking the dogs to the river to cool off and play for a bit before coming home to hop in the pool. I find in the hot weather its nice to get in the pool and then keep my bathing suit top on for the afternoon as it keeps me a bit cooler, as I am running in and out of the house with the dogs, so constantly out in the heat.

Paid for the trip and airfare, so now all that is left is to pay for the dog kennel and book excursions.

We've been watching season 2 of Yellowjackets. Such a crazy show, we love it.

@faerywings Your pic didn't show. Enjoy hanging out with your BFF.

@vickyday Enjoy lunch today.

Running late this morning. Need to get my shower then off to Post Office and local library. I may also go by the Senior Citizen's Center to check out the books in their library. Today's high is only suppose to get to 100F... and then down into the high 90's for the next week!!! Just wish we would get the monsoon rains that we should be having. I keep forgetting to put a load of laundry on in the morning when demand for electricity is lower. Maybe I will remember tomorrow.

Chris @faerywings I don't know which one is more confused by what day it is, you or me? I have to look on my monitor or phone every day to remember. That's awesome that your tomatoes are so huge.. You'll probably have a bumper crop of tomatoes. That pie you made sounds delicious. I think I preferred vanilla to lemon pudding because lemon doesn't always set right with me.

Kay @BrightEyes be careful with that cold freeze. Be sure to take a sweater with you. You must be feeling better if you're out running around like that.

Vicky @vickyday sounds like you're having fun with your GD. That's so fun to get to spend one on one time.

Yes it is! She even did some acrobatics for me today so I could take some pictures for my challenge I'm hosting next month!
