It is 68* here!!! The humidity is low(er) and the windows are open. Gary must have turned the ACs off last night because I slept so much better. The racket they make wakes me up more than I usually do. It will only be in the mid-80s. Hopefully, the humidity will be in the normal NJ range. Perfect day for me to visit with my BFF and float in her pool.

Nothing to report from yesterday. Basically, another dull day. The highlight is the MoB shoes I ordered came in yesterday. I grabbed three pairs from Amazon and two are def. going back. The third looked the nicest and felt the most comfortable. It's a three-inch heel so my body will need to practice walking and balancing in them. They are a little big but I think if I put inserts in they'll be ok. Probably better to have them slightly loose because my feet will swell by the end of the day.

It's a darn good thing they came in because the bridal shop where I am getting the alterations done is closed from mid-Aug to mid-September. My mom and I have an appt this Saturday. *gulps*

Scott and Sam left NJ at 2 am to go to Ohio for a music festival. I hope they are having decent weather for driving and camping. Good thoughts for them, please :praying2:

I need to get my head outta my butt and get crackin' -- life is whizzing by and it's making me a little dizzy when I think about it.

@Nonni F I loooooove the pics you shared of the babies. Their tails are AWE-some. They look utterly adorable and sweet and deserve even more pets and scritches.

@JeanneMN The b-ball game sounds exciting, a nail-biter for sure. Sorry that they didn't win, but congrats to DGS about the triple! My nephew is prepping for a Cooperstown trip next week with this team. Some nationwide tournament is going on. I'm not sure who is most excited, my brother, my sis in law or my nephew :D
I would have crashed and burned at the hour you got home, the movie must have been engaging to stay awake.
Did you :mowing: your legs? :rotfl:

@vickyday The knee/leg is better a little every day just not enough to where I want it. Thank you!
How nice to make a new friend and one that enjoys Quirkle!
How is Mark feeling? Did he take a test? Good healthy thoughts to both of you~~~~

I didn't have rice wine so I threw in a little extra of the rice wine vinegar. I also used a little more fresh ginger- I love that stuff.
I made a ton of white rice but I think brown would have been excellent too.
OMG! Don't ever tease me like that!! Ketchup on banana bread!? :notinfrontofthekids:
Here is the recipe I use- instead of shortening I use a mix of coconut oil and margarine and I'll swap low-fat sour cream for the mayo to "save calories." :giggle4: I add way more walnuts and chic chips too. I'll mix semi-sweet, dark, and white choc chips if I have them.
This is dense and moist not dry or fluffy.
Whine away about menopause, I'll be more than happy to join you. I hope the heartburn goes away so you can drink coffee again.
:hug4:

@Terri M What is Neon Highway about?
Is your weather any cooler today like it is here? Hope so! Enjoy trying a new restaurant!

@BrightEyes Ooooh what a bad run of luck with your family. I always tell my sis in law that her family needs permanent bubble wrap. I think you all need some too. Good luck to DSIL#2, he must be so discouraged :(

@taxed4ever Ugh, you finally have time to go on a hike and it is canceled because of the heat. That stinks! At least you had the day to visit with your brother. Hope the swim was as lovely as it sounds.
That's a good point about the crows and hawks. I've been listening to one for the last hour and I haven't heard a crow at all today. I've seen several hawks in the area recently but I'll have to keep my eyes open.

@bcgal00 How exciting planning the cruise and excursions. You should see some nice color in Boston.
Caitlyn booked two excursions for her honeymoon- one is a pontoon trip to see manatees and the other is to feel sea lions. She and Tom are extremely excited! (Me- I'm jealous LOL)

@AK_Tracy Good idea about the thermos! As long as I remember to turn the coffee pot back on, it will stay warm for the four hours. The tricky part is remembering to do that. *taps forehead where non-caffeinated brain resides*
OMG, your purple and blue hair is awesome! I love how it peeks from underneath. You have a room lighting smile too!
sooooo darn sorry that the massages have to hurt. to make it better. Is there anything you can take for that or maybe use heat packs?

@Nonni F That cartoon-- I feel it, 100% I feel it.

Good Morning!
Quick in and out as I am heading to the Save-a-Buck store. I need some broth to soak Asher's dog food in to make it softer for him. His old teeth can't handle the hard stuff as well, especially since he had to have one of his canine's removed.
Working on catching up on my ATC cards today. I'm a month+ behind! YIKES!
Mark is feeling better and is NON-COVID! Thank You, Lord!
OK. I'm still in my pj's and need to get off of here and get my butt in gear!
Have a great day!

Morning, all. It is a cooler morning... 65*F when I got up so have the house opened and a cool breeze is blowing through...AH.. feels so good!!! This is going to be a 'stay at home' day. The laundry hamper is over-flowing so that is on my must do list this morning. Need to get that started as we are on the 'conserve electricity' from 11 AM until 8 PM... the A/C electric current only runs at half-power during those hours. - - - - Stopped for a few minutes to get it sorted and the 1st load is in washing now.

Got a text from DD#2 last evening. Son-in-law's surgery is scheduled for late this afternoon. They will be amputating #4 toe... next to the one they took a couple of weeks ago plus clean up other areas around it. The doctor couldn't get him in for the surgery sooner as the hospital was completely full (no beds available) until yesterday! Not sure how long he will be in the hospital as he has to be on IV antibiotics for the bone infection.

@faerywings Those MOB shoes are beautiful... Yes, you will need to practice walking in them... but wait until the knee is better, gal!!! Sounds like the honeymoon trip will be wonderful with those excursions. Yikes on the shop being closed so glad your appointments are before then.

@AK_Tracy - wow, your hair is long and so pretty!!! Thanks for sharing the photos....

@vickyday So glad to hear that hubby doesn't have Covid again!!!

@Cherylndesigns Have had you on my mind the last few days. I left you a PM on FB.

@tanteva Had to LOL... no ketchup on banana bread!!! I like nuts added to my banana bread. Like it as a loaf and then sliced or/and as muffins. Yummy!! I have frozen ripe bananas to use when I make it.

Need to move a load from the washer to the dryer and then get dressed. HAGD

Morning ladies... Its another cloudless warm morning, no rain in sight either for the next several days. We will soon be on level 3 water restrictions Ugh!! I had a wonderful day yesterday! After watering SIL Linda's plants I drove up to my brothers and spent the entire day with him and my SIL Veronica on their deck on the river! They have such a beautiful spot there! Had several dips in the river to cool down and enjoyed great conversation and a couple of grapefruit Bubly's, so refreshing! We talked with some people who were tubing down the river and their daughter (my niece) from Australia facetimed with us just before I left. It was great to see and hear her again! Her and her daughter are headed off to London England for a dance competition, so I was glad that I got to tell her daughter Sayla good luck and Bon Voyage! Our kids were always very close with Tom and Veronica's kids so nice that they have so many memories of being together! So today will be a stay home day and later I will see if the In-Laws need me for anything. I will play with my photoshop again this afternoon and see if I am inspired to get a layout done. This morning I have to be on the computer to try to get some of the half price deals on "My Half Price Deals Duncan". Its a great site that I can go to once every couple of months to buy coupons for local grocery stores etc and you pay have the price. I am hoping to get a couple for Save On Foods they have $100 coupons for $50 and The Old Farm Market has $20 ones for $10, its fun to try to get them within the allocated time!

Guess what????

@faerywings I love the shoes!! Yes you will have to practice on those 3 inch heels, but don't twist your ankles on them please!! That's too bad that the dress place will be closed that long, hope that your fittings go well!! How great that Scott and Sam are attending a music festival, we have a huge one coming up here in the valley, its called Sun Feast and Keith Urban is headlining this year. DH and I are happy we don't have to up to Youbou to visit the In-Laws and fight all that traffic this year!! Sounds like Caitlyn has planned some great excursions for the Honeymoon!! Hope you have a lovely time floating in the pool with your BFF today!

@vickyday Hope you find what you need at your Save-a-Buck store (is that really what it is called?). Poor Asher, it sucks getting old for a dog too!! Glad that Mark is feeling better and that he is not Covid positive. My brother was saying he hadn't been well for a few days, dizzy, sore throat and sore neck, but he also tested negative for Covid, guess there must be something going around out there. Hope you manage to get caught up with your ATC cards today!

Good Morning!
I love seeing all of you are cooling off, even if its just morning cool. I love open windows and fresh air and am glad you can all open your windows for a moment. When I would visit my dad in AZ it was crazy that they never opened the windows because the a/c was running. I get it, dont loose the cool air but it was strange to get use to.

OMG, your purple and blue hair is awesome! I love how it peeks from underneath. You have a room lighting smile too!
:blushing1: awwwww thanks. It was fun. Thank you that you think my smile lights a room. :heartpumppink:
Mark is NON-COVID! Woohoo! And he is feeling somewhat better!
YEAH!!!! Great update Vicky!!!

Seems like today is mostly a stay home day for everyone. That's awesome. I dont have to do laundry though as its sons day for laundry. Today is rainy (again) and cool. Not looking too promising for the anniversary river photo we always take :giggle4: Normally its sunny and warm and we walk the boardwalk on the river after dinner. I dont think its gonna be sunny. Oh well, rain photos work too I guess.

Need more :coffeedrinker:and gonna look at the amazing gallery.
Have a wonderful day!!

It was supposed to be nuts according to my recipe too, but I omitted that, so that John would eat it. Shouldn't have bother. He's not touched it. He's a picky eater. Next time I'll add nuts. I love nuts.

EDIT - guess that should have been: I am nuts.....

@Terri M What is Neon Highway about?
Is your weather any cooler today like it is here? Hope so! Enjoy trying a new restaurant!
Yes! It will only get up to about 80 today, and it's lower now because it's actually raining! real rain, not thunderstorm dump-it-all-at-once rain. And if I look at next week's forecast, highs are only in the 80s, hope hope hope that comes true.

Neon Highway is about country music and Nashville and a young guy trying to sell a song with the help of an over-the-hill country music star. Not Oscar material, but it made you care about the people.

I had to laugh at the NY Times crossword this morning, which seemed to have me in mind. One clue was the school in Charlottesville, Virginia (here I am). Another clue was the name of the town in NJ known for its shopping malls (been there!)

The grandkids are flying from Seattle upstate NY today to spend a week with their other grandparents before they come here. It won't be long until we have them. David and I are so much looking forward to that!

I have a bunch of web stuff and emails to get out today, so I need to get to work.:busy1:

It's 85 here right now but the humidity has gone from 77% to 45% It is sooooo much better. The cats will be happy. They've been begging to go out o the catio for almost two weeks now that I've kept them locked inside, it's been so nasty.
@Terri M Enjoy those grandbabies!!!
@faerywings those shoes are gorgeous, but Oh, my arthritic feet. No way I'd even get mine to bend into those. You go, girl!
@vickyday No COVID! HAPPY DANCE over here on Maple. Wonderful news.
@taxed4ever we finally got a good storm last night. I'll do a rain dance for you when I get out of work. I'd do it here but they'd probably put me in a padded room if they saw me dance. (picture Elaine from Seinfeld, but worse)
@BrightEyes continued positive vibes going out for son in law. How very scary.
I'm off to dinner with a friend after work this evening. Looking forward to some fresh air. Hopefully they'll have patio seating.
If anyone asks, I wasn't here. You haven't seen me.
Peace!

Good Evening!
We're getting a nice rain! Supposed to be thunderstorms.....there has been a bit of thunder, but mostly just a nice, steady rain.....so far! The temps were supposed to only reach a high in the 80's but it got into the 90s again! BOOO! It has dropped into the 80s now that the rain has started.
I ended up stopping by Ilene's after I went to Save-a-Buck's. We only played one game of Qwirkle. Then her granddaughter came with her baby that was born in January, so I packed up and came home so they could have a nice visit.
Mark and I went to Ruby Tuesday for supper.....BOGO FREE!

Son-in-law's surgery is scheduled for late this afternoon. They will be amputating #4 toe
Hate to hear this. Praying for quick recovery, especially from the bone infection!
I have frozen ripe bananas to use when I make it
Hmmm.....gonna have to try this the next time our bananas are too ripe.

Yes, I think there must be. I've had a headache for several days, too.
Hope you manage to get caught up with your ATC cards today!
I got a few done today before I left for Save-a-Buck. Gonna work on some more this evening.
Yes! It will only get up to about 80 today
We were supposed to have cooler temps today, but it didn't happen!
And if I look at next week's forecast, highs are only in the 80s, hope hope hope that comes true.

Sorry for Rip Van Winkle ness the last few days . Thursday dgs was here most of the day which was wonderful. He and grandpa put the last coats of finish on the chess board. He'd sent me the pictures he wanted to enter & asked if I'd print them for him. Well, I opened the files in Photoshop and I don't know how he has his camera in his phone set up, maybe for Snap Chat, I don't know about that, but the pics were all tall & skinny and no way could be cropped to a photo ratio so after the chess board and lunch, when the sun was hitting the heavy blooming part of the garden, I had him use my camera and we went out & took new photos. We came in & I ran the cropping tool and he told me where he liked it, then I printed 8x10's for him & printed his sister's too. His mom sent me a picture of their matted photos and they looked fabulous, so everything was ready for entry today. Yesterday, early afternoon hubs noticed oil dripping from the lower unit of the boat engine. He ended up hauling it 40 miles to the guy who services it for us & he said he'd try to squeeze it in. Nerve racking to say the least with "trip" supposed to begin Friday. I started a layout while he was gone. Last night was supposed to be the family "zoom" about the farm sale, but the poop hit the fan big time and they ended up canceling it. Youngest brother is on a tear because he isn't getting his way, and just the stress it causes hubs sends my anxiety level through the roof. I followed Kay's example the other day & got all the financial stuff caught up yesterday morning. This morning, I worked on my layout some more. I need to get in the gallery but wanted to pop in here first. I hope you are all doing well, will read everything later.
