Drat! I forgot that I still had some coffee in my mug, took a sip, and it is ice-cold. Blech. Could be worse... I could be fasting and not have coffee. Or no electricity and not have coffee. I am not going to bother with imagining running out of coffee, that would be highly unlikely.
We take our coffee very seriously here.

I had another boring day, mostly housework. I finished my AJ page, I really enjoy making them so much. It is the clean design pages I find the hardest to do. Caitlyn and I worked on the puzzle for a while. It is a 1500 piece one, big but not difficult. It is a Micky Mouse filmstrips/through the years so lots of colors. The one that I got for her is the Haunted Mansion and it is almost entirely black. eep.
Scott had a couple of difficult days. He had been helping Sam move out of the house she shared with Ian and they found more details about what had been going on and for how long. She came back here and they were up most of the night talking and supporting each other. He was able to take a nap and eat dinner so at least physically he is in a much better place. Mentally- he really is doing so much better in that area too. He recognizes that it is going to be hard but appreciates that this is the first time he is single as an adult. He and LL were 15/16 when they met so he is thinking about how he is going to evolve as an adult. I am pretty darn impressed. I would still be curled up, fetal position if I were in his shoes.
My other impressively mature kid is *not* applying for a job that she was interested in. It was a position where she did undergrad and master's classes. Even though she knows she would be good at it and that her internship supervisor has been working with her to get her "in" she is not going to apply b/c she also needs to step out of her comfort zone. She is very much like me, likes the familiar, and gets anxious at new things so for her to decide this was kinda huge. We all cheered her on when she told us that.

We do a lot of cheering in this house-- I didn't mention it before but the family got me a Roomba for Christmas. We named it C Sweepio. You should have seen us cheering him on when he figured out how to get out from under a desk. We are a bunch of dorks. :D

I am cleaning this morning. My friend is a teacher and her school is remote so I want to get in as soon as I can before she needs to be online. HAGD!!!

Quick personals:

@LSlycord Yikes-- is Jeonia (what a pretty name!!) able to get a flight booked? I was worried about my BFF who was in Disney but they were all set. Of course, if I had a choice to stay in FL over IA in January... ;)

@BrightEyes Thank you for not rubbing it in my face about the temps LOL! :D It was a good day to get a lot of the errands done. Your sandwich sounds yummy-- are you going to make apple crisp soon? Also making my stomach grumble here
I will take a pic of the skeletons in a sombrero today. We still need to agree on the official names for him.

@Cherylndesigns Uh-oh, so sorry if I contaminated you with my insomnia. :( Sunrises *can* be nice to see, if you have enough coffee to appreciate them. I sat with my SAD light today and yesterday and was glad I did. You too?
Selective deafness! My dad does that too, he is almost totally deaf in one ear and always jokes that that is the ear he listens to my mom with. Unfortunately, whatever caused the hearing loss can't be fixed with aids. My grandpa was deaf too. I hope Scott doesn't get it, he already is colorblind from my dad. LOL
I don't think I could ever live in Michigan Cold. The 5 months (Nov-March) of cold here is plenty. The only months I really love the temps are May-Sept which means I really should move south hahaha

@taxed4ever The gift is beautiful! How did you get the ribbon so *perfect!?* The colors are wonderful and are neutral that she can use it year-round. Do you know when you will get to see her?
That will be nice to go "shopping" at MILs- hope she lets you get things sooner, rather than later.
What a relief that your brother was able to get back to AU before they started to block new flights in. Are they AU citizens too or just CA?
That is adorable that the boys have their own ice rink! I hope thatHeather will be able to celebrate her birthday, maybe Jonah will get vax'ed by then (doesn't sound like it but I can hope?)

@bcgal00 I am LMAO at the visual I have of Taz up on your legs when you are on the heating pad! HAHAHAHA!!!!! Have you tried to get a picture of that? What a sweet boy he is!
So glad that D was able to help with the shopping/driving. Hope that the booster didn't give you any side effects

@Kythe Oh wow, that was an adventure but I am sure that the birds are very happy to have warm nectar. I would have been anxious driving too. I am amazed at how much snow you are getting. hehe, who has any idea of the thought processes that go through a man's head?? Not me! LOLOL!!!

@mom2triplets04 You had an eventful morning. The roads up here were really bad too, the schools had a delayed opening but the local FB page was full of accident notifications.
Yay for Myla!!!! I hope that this is a good basis for her to burn off some energy and to learn to be a socialized pup.
I am sending you and your family good thoughts- I hope that your grandma is able to find a wonderful place to live and that your mom and aunt can find a way to communicate and help her.
*fingers crossed that your nieces are healthy*
Love the watch band!!

Good morning. Jeonia has a flight booked out of Jacksonville at 6:00 in the morning. That means we will leave home at about 4:45. She says that if the flight is cancelled tomorrow morning, she will stay at the airport tomorrow until she finds a way to get home. She is missing her fur baby something fierce although having our two has helped.

Syd and I are heading down to UF when she gets out of class at noon. She really has it narrowed down to two schools I believe so trying to give her another chance to look around, now that kids are in classes. And she may not even have a chance at the school we are touring today. University of Florida just announced that they have 60,000 applicants which is 10,000 more than they have ever had before. They made 10,000 offers of admittance last year. Hard to know what will happen. But UF will announce on February 25 so we will know then. I told her to take that day off of work. She wanted to know why. I said I want to be around when she finds out!

Morning ladies... We got dumped on big time last night and its still snowing UGH!! At least a foot of snow, so I can't imagine how much snow they must have gotten at higher elevations! At least we have not lost our power (yet) and the house is nice and warm and I have lots of coffee!! It is supposed to rain later on so that will make for a nice slushy mess!! Today I am working on a T-Shirt for Mason, he wants one with some skylander characters on it. That should keep me busy on the wintery day! I should get caught up with a few other things here at the O also. I haven't had a great start to this new month, I hope to be a better CheeryO soon! I had a very nice visit with my sister yesterday and was happy that the snow stayed away until after both my DH and I were back home for supper. She loved the gift that I made for her and we had a great time catching up and enjoying a cup of coffee. I wish I would have made her a birthday cake, but she said that we really did not need more sweets especially right after Christmas LOL. It was good to be out of the house for a bit and talking to her face to face!

@faerywings - Getting the ribbon so perfect?? Its hardly perfect, but I have had lots of practice at it and then glueing it down on the circle keeps it that way, gotta love my glue gun!! I made a Christmas one for myself and I just love the font on it, wish I could remember which one it was LOL. I must have it in my Silhouette Software, so I should find it and put it in my Photoshop fonts. unnamed-1.jpg
I just love all the curls in the font! Now that I look at this sign, I wish I would have added some burlap ribbon to it. (No I am not changing it!!). Sorry to hear that Scott had a couple of bad days! It is so hard to go through a breakup, especially one like he is going through! At least he is eating and talking with his friends, that really helps for sure! Good luck to Caitlyn on finding something that is outside of her comfort zone! You must be so very proud of both of your kids! They are pretty darn amazing for sure!

@LSlycord - Your poor friend is sure having a hard time getting back home! That is such an early time for you to have to take her to the airport! Hope that she is able to catch the next flight! She will be happy to see her fur baby again! Yikes UF has so many more applicants, how is that possible? Hope that your daughter will be one of the ones accepted!! Enjoy your afternoon with Syd!

@bcgal00 - Rae did you get this horrible amount of snow like we did last night? Is your power still on? Waiting for ours to go out because of the weight on all of the trees coming down on the power lines . Sure hope it stays on. How did the booster shot go? Did you have any ill effects from it?

@Kythe - I was watching something about hummingbirds yesterday and that they go into a state during the night where they can shut down during the cold and look like they are dead. So if you see one lying on the ground don't presume that it is dead, take it in for a bit and try to warm it up. I have done this before and they come back to life and happily fly away. I put them in a box and have them near the fireplace, when they wake up and start shaking around in the box then I take them outside and let them go. Oh and I agree with Chris, who knows what the thought process of men is??

@mom2triplets04 - Oh dear, so sad what your Grandmother is going through! Such a difficult time for the entire family! I am sending all of my good thoughts out to you and your family! I hope that things can be resolved peacefully!

Ok I will be getting a call from Heather soon, hopefully the boys are behaving and doing their school work! So hard for her to get them to work at it remotely. Hopefully this is very temporary and they can get back to class soon! Have a good Thursday everyone! Stay warm!

Good early afternoon.

Good news! I was able to go back to sleep after I woke up at 6 AM!! YAY - then I slept until 10:30. I felt SO good!! Actually, the cat woke me up at 6. I might have slept through, I don't know. He went out last night about 1 and didn't return until 6. Little stinker - it's SO cold at night, but the "cat orgy" continues, apparently. Ava has been "trying" to keep Harley inside, but she just wants to be outside and the "wild cats" are in the heated well house. I'm assuming Sam is in the well house. He actually stayed in the precious two nights when it was bitter cold. He wasn't happy, but he stayed in. He's SO grumpy when he can't go out. LOL
"Grumpy Cat". Haha

"Drat! I forgot that I still had some coffee in my mug, took a sip, and it is ice-cold. Blech. Could be worse... I could be fasting and not have coffee. Or no electricity and not have coffee. I am not going to bother with imagining running out of coffee, that would be highly unlikely.

We take our coffee very seriously here." Chris, @faerywings I HAD to quote you here. A couple of days ago, Chuck was going to Walgreens and he asked me if we needed anything. I opened the fridge and said "we have Half N Half, wine and I KNOW we have plenty of coffee. Nope - nothing needed." BWAHAHA Then, I laughed and said that sounded pretty pathetic.

Trudy, @taxed4ever lots of snow, huh? It's supposed to snow for an hour today, but no accumulation. Chris, @faerywings you wouldn't like "Michigan Cold". Trust me! It's absolutely beautiful up there, though and the summers are fantastic - wonderfully rarely humid! The humidity gets to me as much as the heat. In FL, in the summer, you step outside and your skin is wet. I hated to have to put much on in the summer - just walk from the back door to the pool. I sat in the pool a lot.

I'm going to pop over to the forum now. I'll try to stop back later. Here's what happens when I log on here so early - I miss a lot! I'm going to try to check back.

This day is going by pretty fast. At 3 pm I took a nap. myla has been napping too. My mom got my grandmothers phone number as they moved her. Don't know anything else. Good news is Myla is going to puppy play tomorrow too. It did help her to be more calm. I did some journal and bible reading. Oh, I signed up for the 52 kit in the store so hopefully that will help each week so I will have new things to work with. Not much else new

Good afternoon ladies. The day is flying by. Chatted with Jen for a bit in the morning, was out in the backyard a few times with the dogs and took some pics of the birds in the snow and ice, also of the dogs in the snow too. Remi sure is going to miss the snow when the rain washes it all away over the next few days.

@taxed4ever My booster didn't bother me aside from a bit of a headache in the middle of the night but very mild and was gone by this morning. My arm hurts like a bugger (just like vaccine #2 did) but no big deal, it'll be fine by tomorrow. D and I both have all 3 now and Jen is waiting to hear when she can get her booster.

I've got a busy workday so not much chatting today. Hope all is well. Talk tomorrow.

We had a lot of snow today - at least for us. People lose their minds here when it snows. They forget everything they ever learned about driving on it and strip the stores right down to bare shelves because they might have to stay home for a day or two. Sometimes it's funny - until someone takes the last box of coffee pods right out of your hot little hands then laughs at you. Fortunately, we have both a French press and a cold brew post as well, so we don't do without. But I do hope their conscience bothers them so they can't enjoy it!

It was so nice to wake up, roll out of bed, make coffee, feed my sweet kitty, then plop down at my computer to work in my jammies. I sure could be happy doing that until I retire! No noise, nos distractions, no interruptions. Bliss! And I don't have to get out in single digit

But work is done and dinner needs making. It's only sloppy Joe's and fries tonight. Hopefully one of the boys will be motivated to make supper. How hard can it be to brown the meat, add two cans of Manwich, heat and serve? Not my favorite, but they love it.
