Happy Thursday! How are you all doing today? Hopefully, everyone is healthy and slept well. That's all you can really hope for in life. Scratch that. You can always hope for more money than month. :nod1:

So far, Caitlyn, Gary, and I are all feeling fine. I tested yesterday morning and was negative. My plan was to test as close to me cleaning today but I ended up doing it at 10 am. It got into my head that every sniffle, scratchy throat, or cough was Covid. If any of you ever taught or were around large groups of little kids, you know that feeling when one of them gets lice? How your scalp immediately starts itching? ( I bet you are feeling that right now! LOL!) That is what happened to me and I had to test or I was going to make myself crazy.
Scott had to get a PCR test done for work so he will get paid and not have to use sick days. Thank goodness.

I started a LO for My Story and I even journaled on it and I hate journaling. Doesn't make sense to *not* journal. I hope to get that uploaded this morning. My dad and brother and I have been having so much fun reminiscing about our Maine vacations. My brother gave me a pop quiz of the names of the stores and restaurants in the town and while I could remember the donuts (cinnamon and/or brown sugar yummmm) I couldn't remember the name of the shop until he told me. I have no idea how he can remember stuff like that.

Today is going to be quiet, Cait is off to work soon, Scott, Sam, and Pup are isolating in his room, and I am cleaning around noon. Gary is doing Gary-ish things- most likely messing around on the computer

Have a wonderful day!:clubparty:

@LSlycord how are you feeling today? I can't believe that you got Covid. :( Do you think that is what Syd had too? Take good care of yourself and ask your Dr if you should take Paxlovid. Since you have a heart condition and diabetes (pre?? Sorry I can't remember) you should be eligible. It made a huge difference when my ILs had it in November.
Scott *should* get the 5 days off paid with the + PCR. He had to pay $100 out of pocket to get it done but the pay will cover that. It just stinks.
I hope you have been keeping busy scrapping pics of your niece's boys.
Good luck with the hiring committee!

@BrightEyes I am so excited for you, what a shock to have the car come in early. Nice to get car-to-door service.
That was perfect timing for your g-son to pop in. I can't wait to see the pics of you with the car.

@vickyday bet that your finger feels "right" again. I think it was when I first got sick that I took my rings off, my finger joints were swollen. That was 15 years ago and I still flick the base of my ring finger with my thumb and am surprised it isn't there. Now I can't wear them at all, arthritis has made my knuckles a mess.
Hope that your headache is gone.

@taxed4ever woo hoo for going on the hike! Did Linda go with you too?

@bcgal00 good luck with the banking, it seems like banks make it as complicated as possible to close accounts, but not necessarily to open them. I wonder why that is? /s

@Cherylndesigns Yay for sleep!!!!!#sleeping
Sorry that I jinxed you :rotfl:

Good morning ladies. I really wound up doing nothing yesterday. I have a virtual doctor's appointment today at 10:15. What an absolutely idiotic process. Fortunately I feel pretty good today. Sat on the lanai with Brian for a bit since we were able to be 6 feet apart in the fresh air. I didn't have the energy to scrap but I think that I do today!

Spent a lot of time talking with Syd last night. She had a club meeting and learned that one of her professors is looking for help in the lab on her research projects. The time is flexible so she should be able to work it around her schedule. She is going to reach out to her today. It would be good experience on the resume as well as building relationships with a professor in her field for future references. She has almost decided that she wants to spend six weeks studying in Germany this summer so she is starting that process. She needs to decide for sure by February 10. A little challenging to think of her halfway around the world on her own...but if anyone can do it, she can. So much change on the horizon!

@faerywings I am glad that Scott gets paid time without having to use sick time. That really would just add insult to injury. Glad that you, Cait and Gary are still feeling well. I actually called the doctor's office because of my heart and diabetes...I don't feel like I need anything but I don't want to let this get out of control. However, she needs a 30 minute virtual appointment with me and today at 10:15 was the earliest she could see me. And what does she need 30 minutes with me for...she has my charts. She has never spent 30 minutes with me since I have known her. Now I need the soapbox emoji.:soapbox: That is so satisfying!!!

@BrightEyes how sweet was that to have your grandson stop by...perfect timing.

@bcgal00 I cannot believe the nonsense with passwords. Why can't they all have the same rules? Hope it all worked out eventually.

@vickyday I have started the Charles Martin book. I am going to love it!

@taxed4ever hope the hike was good!

@Cherylndesigns it looks like your schedule is back to normal.

Have a great day all!

I'm not sure but it might be my favorite one of his so far! However, I really loved the trilogy.....The..........Keeper. I think you know what I mean.
Glad you are feeling better! Wanting to scrap is always a good sign! ;)
I even dread Syd going to Germany for you! :(

Another good sleep last night! So happy about that. Woke up to 19°!!! Yikes - that is cold!! Glad I had put the trash and recycle bins at the curb last night so I didn't have to do it in the frigid cold this morning. I have to run a few errands today... go to the bank for the check for the car, get the auto insurance setup for the new car, drop off stuff at GW, and a couple of other stops. Will be bundling up as the high may get up to 36°.

Yes, grandson's visit was perfect timing... and he sure saved my back from problems if I had had to move some of those heavy boxes. Had another good surprise... got a call from my cousin last evening. Haven't talk to him for several months. I feel like he is my nephew as he was born 7 months before my oldest daughter and his mom was more like a best girlfriend than an aunt (married to my uncle). We had a nice long chat. It is crazy... they live in the same town as I do - although it is about 30 miles to his house and we don't see each other often. They used to live a mile away but then bought the new house up on the north edge of town (I live on the south edge).

Yippie... Friday is Color Play release. The salesman from the dealership won't be picking me up until early afternoon so will time to play that morning. :D

Will try to do some personals later on.

Quick in and out today.
I'm headed to get Ilene for our postponed date to Costco from yesterday. It was pouring down the rain all morning and most of the day! And it was cold. When I got to her house I told her I thought I was just going to pick up my ring and forget about messing with the trip to Costco. So, we are going to eat at Olive Garden first before heading to Costco today. I did run over there to get gas yesterday.....$3.19 vs $3.49 at Sheetz!

My ring looked nice and shiny under the Jared Jewellers lights, but I don't really see a whole lot ($100+ worth) of shine, LOL, here at home! Anyway.......

Gotta get ready to go.
Have a great day!

Yes, the ring finger is no longer naked!
Are you saying the end of your ring finger is missing? Or is it numb and you cannot feel it when you flick it with your thumb? I'm starting to feel arthritis in my thumbs.....especially when I crochet!
The headache is minimal today, but I'm going to take some acetaminophen before I leave in just a minute.....just in case!

Good Morning everyone! Woke up to a sore lower back Uggh!! I haven't had a sore back in years!! Guess the 10k hike was hard on my back?? Probably because the trail was really hard packed? 5 of us decided to add on a couple more kilometres to go see a trestle, it was worth the extra steps!! So pretty! The rest of the group did not want to go, so we got permission from the hike leader to return on our own. It was good to see everyone again! The sun did not come out for us, but it did not rain either, so that was ok. When I got home in the afternoon I jumped into the jacuzzi and had a long hot soak, it sure felt good on my tired legs! Then I grabbed a snack and sat and watched a couple episodes of "The Crown" it was good to just relax! Today I need to make a retirement card for my Sister, it is her last day of work on Friday. Sister Pam and I are going to surprise her at her work place and bring her some flowers and a " I'm retired" banner to wear at work. LOL. Wendy is one year older than I am and she is the last member of our family to retire from working. She so deserves it!! She has worked very hard all of her life! Other than that I would really like to play with the new Colour Play releases and get a page done. The painting will have to go on the back burner today.

@faerywings - Ha, Ha love that dance party smiley!! No SIL Linda did not go on the hike with me, she was travelling to Tofino with her boyfriend Mark, to spend a few days on the West Coast. Lucky her!! I am sure he will spoil her rotten! He treats her like a :princess:!
That is good that Scott will get paid and not have to take sick days! Too bad that he had to pay up front for it first, but oh well its better than not getting paid at all! Glad to hear that you, Cait and Gary are all still feeling well! I will have to check out your layout of your story about mini you!!

@LSlycord - How ridiculous to have to have a 30 minute meeting with your Dr.!! Guess that is how they get paid for zoom meetings?? #dkwho knows?! Yikes that will be a big change for all of you to have Syd studying in Germany, but wow, good for her for wanting to do it! She sounds like an adventurous soul!! I know she will probably love it!! Just think, it might mean that you will get to plan a little vacation to Germany to check out how she is doing LOL.

@BrightEyes - Hooray for another great nights sleep! You must be excited to be getting your new car today! Sounds like you will be busy getting everything you need today! Enjoy playing with the new Colour Play items, they are stunning again this month!

@vickyday - Hope your lunch at Olive Garden is great and you have a successful trip to Costco! Our Olive Gardens here in Canada have all been closed, since Covid hit. Darn it!! :(

@Cherylndesigns - Hope that you are back on track with your sleep and you are enjoying another great day!

@bcgal00 - Hope everything gets worked out with the banking problems!

Ok I am off to find some photos to use for scrapping this morning! Hope everyone has a great day and that you do something that makes you smile! :waving1

Good morning ladies. No plans today except for scrapping, reading and maybe take the dogs into the grasslands for a play time this afternoon. Not going to the dog park today as it warmed up and is a mud pit in the parking lot. Had to throw everything into the wash when we got back and Remi into the tub for a bath. She had fun though, the mud just makes it more fun to slide through LOL.

I got my amazon order of keto peanut butter yesterday and had keto toast with butter, peanut butter and then cinnamon/stevia sugar sprinkled overtop for lunch. Yum. Dinner was good too. I had watched a video where the keto twins fried eggs over spicy chili crisp oil so I had ordered it on amazon and it came yesterday. I had that for dinner and it was so good. I was worried it would be too spicy but it wasn't as long as I didn't use too much. It really added another depth of flavor. I put that over avocado toast. Another yummy meal. Dinner today will be a big salad with ham, peppers, tomatoes and boiled eggs in it with garlic bread on the side.

@faerywings @LSlycord Sending healthy vibes to everyone.

I'd appreciate any good thought or prayers for Jen. She slept all day yesterday, the depression hit her hard. Bella stayed with us all day and I just took her down at 9 for bed, She scares me when she has these kind of days. I hope today she bounces back and has a better day.

I'm getting out of here now to go feed the birds and play ice hockey with Remi. We still have some frozen ice in the back yard as it doesn't get the sun the front yard does.

Good afternoon my lovelies.

I'm back!!! YAY for sleep again and I HOPE that's the last episode I have like this! LOL Chris @faerywings don't you love the little rolling emoji??? I think he's my favorite and we can laugh about you jinxing me for a long time. You girls are all so sweet for worrying about my lack of sleep the other night. #sleeping

I see we keep getting new emojis every day - love this one: :brrr: and I saw Chris @faerywingsuse this one: :hosed:LOVE them!!

Glad that you, Cait and Gary are still all ok, Chris. I had to laugh about Gary, doing "Gary things". Glad Scott is still going to get paid and doesn't have to use up sick days.

Linda @LSlycord you know why the zoom call - money, money, money. It's always about the money. You're right they don't ever spend 30 minutes with you. :soapbox: Your Syd is a go-getter, isn't she? Reminds me of our Braden. That kid has received 2 full ride offers to other schools but has his heart set on going to U of Arkansas. So, that's where he's going. He has already "interviewed" his roommate to make sure they're compatible. Haha He's a character. They did drop the out-of-state tuition due to his being Valedictorian and all of his civic duty work. That was a big chunk!

Kay @BrightEyes I can't wait to see you standing in front of your new car! What wonderful news that it came in early and I'm also glad you got to see your gs. Car dealerships USED to give door-to-door service like you got but they don't do it so much anymore.

Trudy @taxed4ever I'll bet that soak felt good after your extra-long hike. How cool that you got to go see something so neat. I'm sure you'll have a big time with your sister's retirement, too. It's wonderful that you're all so close.

Vicky @vickyday glad you got your ring back! I'm just like Chris @faerywings I still "twirl" my non-existent wedding rings. I can't wear mine either due to the arthritis in my hands. I can wear it for short periods of time, but then my finger starts to swell. I wore it and my good pinkie ring to the NYE party and that was a long time to have them on.

Rae @bcgal00 sending hugs to Jenn - know that feeling. Hopefully, she'll pull herself out of it in a couple of days. I always say "I don't stay down very long". That helps me get through my occasional bouts of depression.

Braden came down a couple of hours ago and set up my new desktop - it arrived yesterday, and he had it up and running while I would have just been thinking about it. I can't use it yet because he's transferring all my "stuff" from my laptop to the new computer. The monitor is so big and it moves in so many different ways - I love the height of it and the fact that I can move it around. I finally got a Mac! I'm total Apple now. LOL My laptop is a PC. It's been a good one though and still works really well in case I do need to take it with me. I think I've had laptops since about 1999. I bought a really good PC the last time and it had a ton of memory on it and lots of speed. Those are the two things ey're both sitting on my desk right now.

Well, I need to go - I finished a LO for a prerelease last night and just uploaded it.

I am back from running my errands. Still only 37° outside and the Windchill is about 27°!!! :brrr::brrr::brrr: Brrr!! Got the new car added to my insurance policy so it is good to go when I get the car tomorrow. Also stopped at the bank and got the Cert. Check made. Dropped off the stuff at Goodwill and picked up a few things at the dollar store (in the same block) then headed on home. Picked up the mail. Looked at the home gas bill and it more than doubled in price from last month... even though I used about the same amount of gas... I had heard that many places raised the prices like that... and the Feds are going to look at it to see if there is price gouging going on...

When I got home, I parked the SUV over to the side in the garage so there should be plenty of space to park the Sonata. Will find out tomorrow when I bring it home. I did remember to get the 2 garage door opener and put it in my purse.

Looks like I will be having "lupper" (lunch/supper). Getting a headache from not eating on time so best close this down and figure out what to eat! CYL

I have a forever groove where my rings are, LOL! I let the lady talk me into getting my engagement ring 1/2 size larger than the wedding band (which we got elsewhere) and it bugs the crap out of me constantly spinning in the groove! I've thought about getting them soldered together, but that will probably end the warranty if I do, so I will probably just continue to deal with it!#annoyed
