WEATHER FORECAST MODE FOR NEW JERSEY:
It will not snow. No power losses.

We checked our generator and snow blower and they both started with no problems. We have shovels and salt.
Since we are prepared, that means there won't be any issues. LOL
I know we are still a ways out. but they are saying anywhere from 6-10' up to 18'
Did I ever tell ya how much I hate snow?
Nancy- hope that you don't get hit too hard and Kat-- you too!

Yesterday went ok, although I wasn't able to finish my forever IV. It was 7.30 pm and I had been hooked up since 1.30 and there were still over 200 mls to go. I'll finish it tonight when I do my regularly scheduled programming of 2 grams of Rocephin.
I scrapped another page for a Feb challenge and I like that way it came out. Still no real "scrap-spark" though.

My day started with stress- as if I don't have enough of it, right?? I got in my car, like actually mine, the one I just got the new tires on, only to notice that there was a crack in the windshield and it was spreading a bit. When I was done food shopping, I grabbed the paid sticker off of the milk, and stuck it at the top of the webbing so mark where it was and to see if it grows. Gary moved my car in the afternoon and said it is now about 3' past the stickers. :frusty:
And of course it is the winter and we don't have a garage, so snow+melt+freeze= more webbing. Just great!!! If it isn't medical bills, it is car stuff and I hate even thinking about my credit card balance. it would be one thing if I racked up some decent debt and got something fun out of the deal. /semi-snark
But IV supplies? Drs appts? Tires and windshields? That is not what I call fun!!! I wasn't going to say anything to my mom, becasue I didn't want to add to her stress and didn't want her to slip me money to pay for it. When Gary came in to tell me that it was already spreading a lot, he didn't realize I was on the phone with her. She had her windshield replaced a couple of months ago and told me to check my insurance policy. I am so glad that I did. My first reaction was no *way* can I go through insurance and raise my rates. I have 4 drivers and three cars on the policy and it is already a lot of $$. She said that Comprehensive won't raise my rate and to check to see what my deductible was. $100 for this car!!! woooo hoooo!!! Scott's car is $500 and we don't have anything on Cait/Gary's car.(wonder if we should add a bit?? )

As long as the weather is good- it will be replaced on Monday. I have to thank Gary for interrupting me on the phone and for my mom making the suggestion. Whew!!

Cait's school had another "bomb threat" written int he bathroom and other than her concern for the kids in her Preschool, the incident was cleared up quickly. Idiots!

My mom is coming up today and we will visit a bit. She is bringing up some food for the family. She is so awesome. We go out for lunch and then I will pick up my next month of meds from the pharmacy on the way home. I was going to see if Scott could grab them since it is around the corner from his college but I will be in the area so I can do it myself.
He had his first day of classes and was actually excited about them.

Hugs and love to all!!!

Kat- :wickedwitch
I must be as wicked as you! It never ends! Glad that your Pandora station got you in a good groove. What's the forecast for snow for you, is it still going to hit the DC area hard?
There are so many times I wish I had my camera with me when I am driving. I know I would stop and take pictures but the side of the road if I did. My cell phone camera isn't worth much so I don't bother.
How is the heat int he office? And how is Mum feeling?

Katja- that is awesome news about the furniture! hahahah about finding relics of the past.I have been cleaning out my filing cabinets and found god only knows how many owners manuals of things we don't even own any more.

welcome back, Nancy! It must be brutal to come back to frigid and snowy NJ. Luther must have missed you a lot. I am kinda looking forward to seeing Jaida in the snow. Harley was a nut in the snow, and I have a feeling she will be too.
Can't wait to see your pics and Los of your trip!

Sandra- :high5: to Piper for her audition! Hope she gets good news today if she has school.
I am the same way with my wish lists, soooo much good stuff in the O-shop.

Rae- awww how cute of Taz to have a BFF! If I ask Jaida where her sister is, she will run around looking for Ray. She def. knows the difference between the words Ray, toy, bone and Wubba (her fav squeaky toy).
Good luck to you on the job search, I hope that you find one that is perfect for you. Good thoughts to you~~~~~~~~

Trudy- Ugh! I hate when that happens- but Skyping with Mason is worth losing a post :)

Katja- ooooh that sounds so exciting! Post pics so I can live vicariously though you!!!

Morning ladies... early today in here. I have been up since 5am so I got DH his breakfast and then got busy making a stew for our weekend away. We will be doing lunches out at the restaurants and suppers at the cabin. So today I will get everything ready to go. :rain: here today, but mild temps. Its supposed to be a nice sunny weekend on the West Coast so keep your fingers crossed for us that the forecast doesn't change!

Chris - Oh dear if it isn't one thing its another!! Well at least your deductible isn't $500.00 that would be horrible!! Hope you can get your windshield fixed right away! Have a great visit with your Mom, she is such a great Mom!! What I wouldn't give to have just one more lunch out with mine!! I was going to catch up with everyone, but it might have to wait until later today. I am feeling like I need to try to get a bit more  so off to bed I go!!

Have a great day everyone!!

good morning! Well I had a great walk with Luther and it was a walk. I took him twice yesterday and my DH took him this am so with me he really wanted to go but he just walked - too funny. Tired the boy out! Had pizza for dinner and it was so good. I did not have it once on vacation! Today is back to hockey. Lucky the game is tonight and not tomorrow. Plan on just enjoying the snow with the boys and the puppy!

Chris have fun with your mom today. How sweet she always brings food. I bet your auto insurance covers the windshield, I know ours did. Amazing how a little rock can cause so much damage. Cant believe how dumb kids act in high school with putting up bomb scares.

Kat your pandora station grove sounds like fun! I too am looking forward to snow and getting some winter photos! Hope the blizzard is not too bad by you. Saw the traffic in DC area was snarled last night!

Sandra hoping for good news for Piper.

Trudy bummer about the post but Skyping is much better.

Rae love that Taz has a BFF. What fun for him!

Katja how fun to have new furniture!

Have a great day all!

Nancy, that snarly traffic ... yeah, I was stuck in the middle of it! I was working on something late last night, so left the office at 7 pm. C'mon folks, it's a DUSTING of snow - no more than ONE INCH!! Well, despite ample warning about snow and freezing temperatures, the Dept. of Transportation folks in VA, MD and the District did little to nothing about pre-treating roads ... OMG, what a MESS!!! Lack of pre-treatment, combined with cold roads meant that everything was icing over. Hills were a bear, assuming you could even get up them ... turning corners ... intersections. Fender-benders all over the place, cars being abandoned on the side of the road.

So, left at 7 pm ... drive is about 35-40 miles, tops.

Got home at 12:15 am this morning.

I've asked to be able to work from home tomorrow, what with the 24+ inches we're supposed to get starting "some time" tomorrow - no real guidance being given from any weather guys or girls about when the snow event might start. Feels a bit like waiting for the cable guy - you know, oh, they should arrive sometime between noon and 4. :faint2:

Chris, Washington DC is supposedly going to be one - if not THE - main target of this storm. They are predicting a somewhat conservative 24" for the majority of the area, with some possibly getting 30+! Snow tomorrow, all day Saturday, and easing up early Sunday morning. Winds are supposed to be 40-50 mph, too!! Thankfully, our power lines are underground, but I feel for those with overhead lines - I suspect there will be a LOT of people suffering through the cold with the power out.

PJ's and scrapping weekend! Oh yeah, baby. :bliss:

Good morning, ladies. Whoever gets hit with the snow storm this wkend, be warm and safe. It's raining here. I hope we get the break from it on Sat morning as is predicted. A bunch of us want to get out for a hike with our dogs but it won't be fun if its raining. It'll be too muddy and cold. Fingers crossed. I lose my salaried job in a week, which will then be contract work, part time, so I am getting up every morning and looking thru online ads. I'll be hitting the pavement tomorrow and handing out my biz cards. I hope I find another client soon.

Taz had another friend come to doggie daycare yesterday. Some friends of ours have a dalmation that Taz has played with over the summer and they brought Zoe to the daycare yesterday. What fun for Taz. Another one of his buddies there. He was exhausted last night when I brought him home and just slept all night. I made my breakfast casserole finally yesterday. I love it. I put it into individual glass containers in the fridge and for the next four days I just need to grab one and nuke it for a few minutes for a nice lunch. I don't usually eat breakfast, I'm more of a brunch/lunch kind of person so often have breakfast for lunch. I put less potato and cheese (did a mix of asiago, parmesan and cheddar) and more veggies, with 8 eggs in a square pan. Here's the recipe I tweaked.

Chris - glad that works out for the windshield. I have to get mine replaced soon too. I'm putting it off for a bit until I get more money coming in. It's cracked along the bottom and doesn't seem to be getting any worse right now.

Kat - staying home to work sounds good. Getting some scrapping time in too is even better.

Trudy - sweet dreams.

Nancy - sounds like you're getting lots of exercise with Luther and he's loving it. You know what they say....a tired pup is a happy pup. Enjoy the game tonight. My hubs will be watching hockey tonight too.

Should be a good day today. I've got a moderate workload and should get a bit of scrapping in. That's my kind of day! Have a good one, everybody!

good morning... no school again for us today... it really sucks because of course I'm just a long term sub, so I don't get paid... thankfully I'll have 18 hours of SCM training that's paid so it'll help make up the difference...

Looks like 8-14 inches of snow for us starting tonight... Piper's birthday celebration plans are going to be cancelled... why couldn't the snow be next weekend?

Piper did not get chosen for Honors band... she was devastated... even though its an honor to even be chosen to audition, she said she won't try again... hopefully by the time it rolls around again, she'll change her mind...

well time to brave the weather... I have to buy Piper's birthday presents and get some milk and a couple other things at the store... it's probably going to be packed ugh.

have a great day everyone!
