Happy Thursday to all of you!

How was your Wednesday? It was a mixed day for me yesterday, but overall a good one. (finally!) I was really happy only having to pick up the groceries, it was much nicer than having to wander around the supermarket. The other shoppers would have not been happy with me hacking up a lung on their food either. A win-win!

Scott came home and shared a bunch of his stories and photos with us. He said he had a great time and really enjoyed learning about the different eco-system of the west coast. The guy was thrilled to learn about several different conifer species and came home with an enormous pinecone from one of them. They had great weather and some fun adventures too. It was such a great feeling to see him happy.
The bad part is that I forgot to check on his snakes' water dish and Timber was dehydrated. Cait and I checked on them a few times when he was first gone and snakes don't need a lot of attention. I feel awful. He was soaking Timber in water and Gatorade to help hydrate and he has an appt with a vet today. I am so used to taking care of Cait's rats even when she is only gone for a couple of hours. And if I didn't check on them when she expected an update, I would get a text from her. Between the rats' surgery and being sick myself, I let it slip my mind. I will feel even worse if anything happens to Timber.

I was able to do some filing and shredding old checks from an account that doesn't exist anymore. You can tell that banks are getting too big when you have checks from 4 different banks that had gotten gobbled up by a larger one again and again. I am so happy that we are with a community bank instead of Wells Fargo now.

I am going to catch up on some housework this morning, the bathrooms are kind of disgusting- and then I am cleaning this afternoon for my neighbor.
And darn it, I am going to finish some more pieces of this puzzle. It will not beat me!!!!

Have a fantastic day!!!

Nancy- Sounds like you and your Drs are all ready to go for the surgery. It must be very reassuring to know that they are all on top of it.

One really good thing about the surgery is that you won't have to shovel! That is what happened after my hysterectomy although I remember wanting to help and brushed the snow off of the cars instead. Made my family made at me. LOL

I hope that we don't get hit as bad as some of the forecasts are suggesting.

Rae- How was B's OT update? Hope that she is doing well and showing some progress.

Hope that you are all caught up on work. Did you get to watch The Passage? We watched it on Tuesday and it was really good.

karen- OMG-- I was at the vet yesterday and a woman came in with a urine sample- and she had a great idea. She taped a measuring cup to a yardstick. As soon as her dog started to squat, she put the cup right under her. I thought that was brilliant since yes, it is impossible to get urine samples from dogs. Cats too...
maybe this will help if you have to collect other samples in the future.

Thank goodness that the initial test was wrong but at least you know for sure what is going on. Give him some belly rubs from me!

Kay- ooooh, sweet! Sleeping until 7.30-- must have been refreshing and needed. I hope that all of your snow is gone and that you don't get any more. We are supposed to get a little bit of snow tonight but the possibility of a lot over the weekend. Yuck.

How nice it must have been to have a good visit with DD. I know that my mom really enjoys one on one time with me and vice versa.
Why would pjs be hip huggers? The cold air drafts would make me crazy :pound:

Trudy- did you make it to your hike? Hope that you did since I know that being out in the fresh air would be good for you.
My fingers are crossed too that the ped gets the vax in soon for Hunter.
Hoping that your cold goes away soon too.

Another sleep-in morning... I'm getting spoiled to it! But, then again... I read until 11:30 PM! Yesterday I picked up a library book that was on hold for me and found 2 more that sounded interesting. Then stopped at the Senior Center and got a few more books. While I was out, I returned the chair throws that wouldn't stay in place on the recliner.

Had a bit of a down afternoon... no energy or desire to do anything. Was feeling blue so buried myself in a book. Ended up not cooking supper - just had a bowl of cereal with a banana. That was the last of the cereal so need to pick some more up.

Chris, I am not sure why the PJs were made as hiphuggers either. They were not marked that the pants were made like that. Could be one reason that they were on clearance! The legs were long on me - so should fit okay once I lengthen the crotch.

We have sunshine this morning... will enjoy it as the snow is suppose to start tonight. I need to go the grocery store as I forgot a few things earlier this week.

Morning O-zies! I am actually feeling human again! :bliss: 16 days with a cold is waaayyy too long! I did not get out for my hike yesterday, which made me sad. It was just so darn foggy and it did not lift until almost 11am, the roads were icy and there were lots of sirens going down the road from our house. So I figured the windy road to the hike would not be a good thing to attempt. I did make it out for a bit of walk later in the sunshine, but the wind had picked up (probably why the fog finally disappeared) and it was a very chilly walk! I started a page two (yes 2) days ago and I am still working on it. :mmph: why does it take so long for me to scrap?? Anyway it is another from our trip to Paris, I have been procrastinating on finishing these layouts and I really need to get them done! Hard to believe that come July it will be a year since we made this wonderful trip! I took a break from scrapping in the late afternoon and worked on my painting for a bit. It was not going very well either :pout: I started to paint a butterfly and had to re-do it several times and still I am not all that happy with it. So perhaps another go at it later today? I really need to get out of the house soon too before I go stir crazy LOL.

Chris - Oh dear, I hope that Scott was not too upset with you and Cait for not checking up on his snakes! Hopefully they will be fine! Nice that he had such a good time on his trip! Too bad he could not have crossed over into Canada and seen some of our eco-systems too! I would have loved to have taken him on one of our hikes (had I been well enough to do it) :becky: Yes I hope that Hunter will soon be able to get his flu shot, they could get the vaccine at the local pharmacy, but they are not allowed to administer the shots to children under 5 years of age. Oh well it will get done hopefully soon! Good luck with your cleaning today! Yes the bathrooms were the one place that really needed a good cleaning in our house too! Seems to be the place that gets neglected when you are not feeling well! YUCK! Sending you lots of healing thoughts and virtual chicken soup!! Take care of you!!

Kay - I have been loving the good sleeping these past days too! Perhaps the cooler weather and the darkness in the morning? Who knows, but I also know that it won't last, so just enjoy it while it happens! Maybe the secret is to stay up a bit later?? :noidea: Sorry that you had a blue day yesterday  but you are allowed!

Rae - Hope that there is wonderful news from B's OT!! Too bad that you need to pay to get a silly note from the doctor!! :mmph: Hope that your work day is not too heavy today!

Kythe - Uggh $700 to find out that your dog needs to lose weight?? Glad that you have such a good attitude about the expense!! :becky: We love our pets though and I am happy that little Joey will be fine! Hope that you are having a good day!

I will go grab another coffee and send off an email to a friend to see if she wants to get together for a coffee either today or tomorrow. This friend has also had the same cold as me and wanted to do coffee last week. I was just still to under the weather, so now hopefully we can catch up and get out of the house! LOL. Have a great Thursday ladies!!

good late morning - I am getting the final things done to make my next month easier on me. I got my legs waxed this am so I don't have to worry about shaving LOL. And tomorrow is my hair cut and color so then that is good for another month. I will then just enjoy the weekend. We are to be getting some freaky snow storm on Sat into Sunday. They are not sure of the track so we may get rain. No problem as long as Tuesday is good. My team has a matinee game against the Ducks so that will be interesting to see if the snow will have started. My favorite player is Henrique and he is now a Duck so I would like to see the game. Tonight my teams plays on Long Island against the Islanders. That team is playing well and my team has a really hard time against them. I love twitter and today Cam Janssen tweeted an old article from when he was in juniors. It was fun article and pretty much described the player he became. Well he was a NJ Devil and fan favorite with how he stuck up for his teammates, ie lots of fights. My DH and sons were huge fans. So the only jersey he has is a Janssen jersey that I got him to autograph. I tweeted that back to Cam and lol he like my tweet. I know how silly but it still makes me happy.

Chris glad that you are feeling so much better. I am sure that the fellow grocery shoppers are happy you were not sick on them. Hope that the snake recovers. I guess I would never think they get dehydrated - interesting that he is using gatorade. Really hope Timber does ok.

Kay so glad you are sleeping later. Sounds like the snow storm will be perfect reading time and you have the books and the new PJs.

Trudy hope the fogs cleared early and you made your hike! That is too bad about not having the vaccine. Hopefully soon!

Rae hope all is well with D and B.

Waving to all! Have a great day!

Good morning, ladies. Had a chat with Jen yesterday about B's progress and the news unfortunately isn't great. They feel she is not progressing at all anymore and although they will continue to work with her while she remains there, they are not seeing any progress. The drugs are keeping her relatively peaceful so that is a good thing. She's happy most of the time now.

She had been turned down for the brain trauma team when she was at UBC Hospital so the rehab will try again. I don't understand it. She has a brain injury. She should live in a setting that understands that and can provide the best care and help. It looks like another fight ahead for us to advocate for her. They are looking into mental health care placement which is the worst possible choice. She will be put in with emotionally disturbed patients and probably suboptimal care. This is so discouraging for us. This poor girl just can't get a break. No one wants to help. Rehab says it's time to release her from their care as they can't help her. I'm not going to say any more about this for awhile b/c I'm scared and frustrated about what is going to happen with her.

So...I'm not going to talk about B for awhile, please don't ask questions, I need to let this go out of my head for now or I will go crazy.

Chris - it's understandable how you fell behind on looking out for Timber. Hope everything will be ok. Glad to hear that S had a great trip. Don't overdo the cleaning today, you're still sick and need to pace yourself.

Kay - losing yourself in a book, I sure can relate to that. I used to love having cereal and fruit for dinner before when I ate grains. The closest I get to that now is paleo-friendly muesli with coconut yogurt and sliced banana. I do love it.

Trudy - 16 days...way too long, that was a bad one. I bet your butterfly will look great. I find walking away and then coming back later helps. Have fun visiting with your friend if you go today.

Nancy - sounds like you got everything done you wanted before your surgery. Hope the snow isn't too bad and is clear for you on Tues.

I have to pop out later for Taz's goat mild kefir...the things we do for our animals LOL. The store ran out a few days ago and I've been waiting for them to restock so I can get more. He's been batting the bowl around and glaring at me, sending me the esp message to fill it up LOL. I distract him with dog cookies :)

Have a great day everyone. I'm grabbing a coffee and getting back to work.

Hello girls,
I'm wake up at the night and decided to chat a bit instead just to roll at the bed. Hmm where is Jean?! She isn't post past few days, so I was wondering did she was disappointed or upset from something at site or just genealogy keeps her busy?!
Nothing interesting with me except the fact that yesterday was first warmer day this year. I mean warm enough to can stay without gloves. So I made long dog walk with mom and Tiny. The dog was happy because previous days was so cold so she couldn't stay out for more than 5-10 minutes, so no walks. I was pleased to see the sun, ignoring mud (you knows how much I hate the mud) and especially because forecast says the cold will become again. I just wish mam to wasn't so worried for stupid things like finances, how employers look on you when you are in middle age and long-term plans.
Past few years we was surrounded too often from death and illness (on pets but still, it is equal for me), so I wish she can see that what not kills you don't deserve to worry about. Chris also was told me this lesson, last time when I was desperate and I considered it carefully and know it's true (even she don't follow it herself  ) . I hate the cliche that: 'problems make us stronger', it's just not true, things which hurts you always left scratches. But problems have levels.
Anyway, she have a bday this weekend so we plan tp lift up her spirit  !

Chris, love this idea for cup to a yardstick for dogs. But cats actually are easy peasy just left the cat toilet absolutely sterile and empty from cat litter and habit will force them to use it anyway. You just have to wait and take it immediately.
Kythe , good that it wasn't something serious!

Chris, do you still feels sick?! I Sending you lots of healing thoughts too!
Hope the snake will be OK, I'm not much familiar with them, but they are wild animals, so probably are sturdy. I think the consequences will be more badly for Scott's feelings. Don't take side between them, comparing his responsibility with this of Cait can only 'adding fuel to the fire'.

Kay, hope the book to help you distract from blue mood! What you read right now? These days I can't keep my attention in books. Still have started and left about 5.

Trudy, first I have to say how sweet was the story (few days before) for you and Hunter reading, love it! Ouch 16 days with a cold, sounds just the pits, I thought my 10 with flu was nightmare. Sorry about the hike, but safety first. Before few days here winds was too strong too, and made many damages, so better to not be out at that weather. Hope your friend was ready for coffee, and this little change of outlook to bring back your inspiration!

Nancy, NO, to be happy, because of the tweet likes, is not silly at all, actually this is awesome, and so nice from his side! :excited: But you are always witty so I'm not surprised at all, that that is happened . To you also have to say that your story a few days ago, about the little fan girl which recognize you as a friend was sooo sweet!

Rae, oh, sorry for this awful news! We are here for you to told us whatever you want or just to hug you if you prefer to keep silent! Sending hugs to whole your family! Allows me to repeat this (only this I promise) medicine don't knows everything and unfortunately they too often works with assumption. Don't allow them to convince you to do something that your heart feels wrong!
