Night #2: Slept even better than Night #1. Almost *too* good, I really struggled to roll out of bed. But dang, it feels good to sleep.
I swear, most of the problems my parents have with being cranky with each other have to do that neither of them sleeps. I have suggested to them that they also talk to their Drs about that and they poo-pooh me.

The bump on my ear is "nothing." That was the Dr's technical diagnosis. She said she is Rxing a cream to shrink it and recheck in 6 weeks. *shrugs* I think she was in the exam room for about 3 minutes. I met up with my mom and we had a nice lunch at Olive Garden together. My dad texted me and said that the doors were done being installed and that was a relief to all of us.
After dinner, we worked on our Lego kit. (Did I tell you that Scott and Cait got the family a Pirate Ship Lego kit for Christmas?) We went through a few more steps and have the front of the ship put together. If Scott is home tonight too (he is off work today), we might either do more work on that or play Ravine again. Either way, I love it when we are together.

Today is going to feel like a Wednesday to me. I am picking up groceries and then cleaning for my friend-- what I normally do on a Wed. Hopefully, that won't screw me up too much ;) I hope to get some scrapping in too, I started a LO a few days ago and it still needs the finishing touches.

HAGD!

Good morning ladies! Need to get myself in gear today and get some more of this cleaning and organizing done around here. Syd FaceTimed last night while Shaun and I were watching Name That Tune so she had me point the camera to the TV and watched with us. She stopped in Career Connections yesterday so that they could look at her resume to see if it needed any improvement. They suggested a couple of minor tweaks but said that it was really good to go. Big career fair next week and they are not only hiring for full time jobs, they are looking for interns as well.

I got a call in the afternoon about a job that I applied for on Monday and I have an interview this afternoon. The company is in Jacksonville but the job is remote so I'd work from home. This is the first interview with the HR recruiter and I am sure that I will make it through this round. I have some very specific experience that they are looking for. The next round would be a panel interview and they would then decide whether or not they want to present me to the hiring manager. The benefit package at this place is amazing and they are recognized with a "top company culture" award. We will see...hopefully the market is opening back up a bit. It is supposed to reach a high of 76* and sunny today but then highs in the 50's this weekend.

I need another cup of coffee and then I'll be back for personals.

@BrightEyes so glad that you are feeling better. Yes, very important to give the coffee creamer over anything else-- other than the coffee itself.

@taxed4ever it has been so nice seeing your scrap pages popping up on my FB feed!
Isn't that the truth about laminates? When we had to pick out the Pergo for Cait's floor I was amazed by how nice everything looked. I bet the care/upkeep is also much easier than stone countertops.
I have missed hearing about Heather and the boys too- how have they been doing?

@bcgal00 Please tell me you got good-ish news about the computer. I hope that you can find a workaround while you look for something new.
Who was happier that Jen was home, Jen or your dogs? *G* I am not surprised that Remi was boycotting food to let you know that she was not happy that Bella was gone LOL

@LSlycord That is heartbreaking that the Orca died :( But I am happy that you got to see dolphins! I'd be happy to see the sun at this point. It's been very grey here all week.
B-fast overlooking the ocean *happy sigh* Doesn't get much better than that!!

@Cherylndesigns I saw your post about deciding between two monitors or a bigger one. IMHO- go for two if you have the space, I use two monitors for so much, not just scrapping but scrapping is really hard for me to do with just one. I have ACDSee open on the one to my left and PS on the one in front. All I need to do is grab the files from ACDSee and drag them onto the main screen. I imagine that if you use Bridge or any other photo manager it would work exactly the same. But if not, I bet that having other "windows" or tools open on the second monitor would make it easier at any rate. Just my 2 cents :D
I now see that you are going to hook up a monitor to your laptop? Good luck and I hope it all works out perfectly!
Great idea to mark/number your Christmas boxes!

hugs!

@faerywings yay for two nights in a row of good sleep. That is going to improve how you feel so much! And looking forward to family night whether puzzles or games or just hanging out is definitely something to look forward to. Glad that the bump on the ear is "nothing". Picking up groceries and cleaning sounds like a lot to me.

@bcgal00 did Jen make it home? I bet the dogs were almost as excited to have them back as you were. Poor Hayden is so bored without Sydney here. And she is CONSTANTLY asking to go in and out...so in and out she goes!

@taxed4ever that was good advice about BestBuy and their refurbished computers. I'm going to keep that in mind for my next one. (Which I hope is a long time from now!)

@Cherylndesigns good thing that you have Brandon around. What will you do next fall when he goes to college? Oh, I know...wait for him to come home. LOL I do think that I may get a monitor for the office. We don't have a TV in there but I may do it anyway. Of course, that takes me back to the question "am I in a downsizing phase of life or not?"

@BrightEyes I hope that you were able to get out and get your errands accomplished so that you can relax at home!

Have a great day all. I'm going to go get something done!

Morning, all. Yes, I am feeling better today. Managed to run a few errands yesterday. Mailed a few bills then got home to realize that I had not made out the checks for the 4th quarter income taxes... they have to be mailed by the 15th! So will be getting those done today. I did make it to the lab and had blood work drawn so all set for primary care doctor's visit the end of the month. Stopped by the Used book/DVD store and picked up 3 more DVDs. It is only a few blocks from the lab so couldn't resist making it over there. LOL... Then made a quick stop at the bank and grocery store. It was out of the creamer I like - so will try at another store. I did find a bottle of creamer in the fridge at the back... it is not my favorite flavor but will do until I get my favorite one. The wind was like ice and blowing like mad... Suppose to be slightly less windy today. Hope so as I run my errands.

@faerywings Good news that the Lyme has not flared up again. So glad you are sleeping better... the meds must be working. Also good news that the parents doors were finally delivered and installed.

@LSlycord Will be hoping that the job comes through for you... it sounds hopeful. Too bad about the whale beaching but glad you got to see the dolphins playing.

@taxed4ever So happy to see you popping back in again... you were missed!!! Sounds like you and SiL had fun picking out new counter tops/etc. Always fun to help other spend money. It is a shame about the Inlaws health situation and them not moving closer so you can help them easier.

@Cherylndesigns hope the new monitor will make it easier for you to see things when you are scrapping. I love the larger monitor since I moved over to DH's computer... so much easier when I am scrapping.

@bcgal00 Ah, that Remi... letting you know he wasn't happy that Jen was gone. Have to LOL over a 'computer being old when it is 6 years old'.... DH's computer is 8 years old but is working okay for me. (Hope I didn't jinx it by saying that!)

Coffee cup is empty and I need to get my shower and dressed. CYL

Good Morning everyone! It is a very rainy morning so it is extra dark and gloomy out there. Yesterday the sun popped out for a bit so I got in a nice walk and enjoyed the fresh air. I got a card made for my sister’s granddaughter Bella. My sister adopted her a few years ago as Bella’s Mom struggled with drug addiction and is now dealing with Bowel Cancer. We haven’t heard too much about how her Chemo is going or if she is improving or not, but I hope to find out more today when we visit with our Sister Wendy for her be-lated birthday. I am off this morning to pick up a cake and some flowers and perhaps a little something more for my sister’s birthday gift. It will be nice to be together again, we haven’t seen each other since before Christmas. We got woke up this morning at 5:30 am by some stupid crank call, so I better block that number today before I forget and it happens again tomorrow morning. #angry2 I am posting this morning from my new iPadPro that DH got for me for a Christmas gift. I love it however I am not able to access the smileys icon at the top of the screen darn it. I will have to look into how to fix that I guess. Any suggestions ?? I will make a post looking for help perhaps. A few other things that are not available to me on my iPad, so I will go and switch over to my iMac and finish this post.#dk

Ha, ha got the smileys I wanted to insert and now onto personals...

@faerywings - How wonderful to have two great sleeps in a row! Glad the meds are working their magic on you! You will be much happier for it I am sure! Glad the bump on the ear was nothing, hopefully the cream shrinks what ever it is! Nice of you to ask about Heather and the boys. They are all doing well and happy to be back into more of a routine with school etc. Mason is still taking drum lessons and Hunter is now doing indoor soccer and loving it! They are both growing like weeds. Isaac and Sadie are now both taller than me and Isaac is actually taller than his Dad!!! He is only 14, so not sure if he will continue to grow taller or not. Jason and family are planning a trip to Disneyworld in 2024 and want Heather and family to join them, Jonah might not be able to go as he doesn't get paid when he is away from work  so I might have to join Heather and the boys to give her a hand getting around with them. Oh Darn LOL. Jason and Jackie have a time share so the accommodation will be paid for and I am hoping to have enough points to fly everyone there so that will be great too. All they have to worry about is the cost for food and park tickets which could be very expensive in itself. She's not going to tell the boys about it until the day they leave or they will drive her nuts LOL. DH is not interested in going and if Jonah is able to go then I will stay home (bummer).

@Cherylndesigns - I hope your hook up to your laptop works out! I have two monitors and love being able to have my Bridge on the one and photoshop on the other!

@LSlycord - Good luck with your job application, although it sounds like you have it in the bag! I hope you don't have to look for a new computer for a long time too!!

@BrightEyes - Happy to hear that you are doing so much better today! Well enough to get some errands done too! Too bad they did not have your fav creamer, but at least you have some, I would be very unhappy to be without my creamer! Yes it is too bad about the in-laws, but I think they are happiest being where they are. Just wish FIL would stop driving and accept some help, but who knows, perhaps he will realize that his eye sight is just getting too bad and that would be a danger to others, not just them. Who knows?? #dk

@bcgal00 - Hope Jen got home ok and everyone is settled down and happy to be together again! How is your weather where you are?? Sure is a crappy winter here as we are getting another pineapple express coming through here, its raining cats and dogs out here today.

Ok off to the shower and then to the stores to search for a great cake that we all can enjoy. Have a wonderful day everyone! Stay dry!!

Good morning, all.

I'm playing with my fonts today. Is there any way to change them for ALL of my posts? I noticed that a couple of the Cheeryo's have teeny tiny font on all of their posts. I swear the older I get, the more I need darker and bolder font.

Chris, @faerywings that's so fun about the Lego pirate ship. Have you watched that TV show about people building with them? I have only seen commercials, but they get pretty wild, in the competitions. Thank goodness the thing on your ear was nothing. Glad you had a good day with your mom. YESSSS, it felt so good to get the decorations down and we're going to make our Master List today. Chuck has his strapping take and huge maker ready to go the the boxes. LOL No more "can't find's" for us. No soup for you - come back one year". Hahaha

giphy.gif

Linda @LSlycord good luck with your interview today! I remember when I had to do the "three rounds" for one of the jobs I had one time. You'll make it - but sending lots of hugs to you. We're already talking about what we're going to do with B goes off to school. We all depend on him for all our IT stuff. We'll just have to wait until he comes home, I guess. LOL Poor guy - I hate to bug him, but he's so fast that he has it done while we're just thinking about it.

Kay @BrightEyes I have definitely come to the conclusion that I NEED a bigger screen! Chuck and I talked about it last night and he knows that I've been in a dither. He doesn't like it when I'm in a dither. Hahaha

To all of you who have helped me with my problem, I've decided to get a new desktop computer - He talked me out of two monitors, because I REALLY don't have that much room. He's the voice of reason. He brought his tape measure in here this morning and two monitors just won't work unless I get a whole new desk set up. I don't even want to go there now, so I'm going to get a desktop with a big monitor. Thank you ALL for your input - I'd love to just hook a new monitor up to my laptop, but it's getting to the point where I have to keep dumping things to keep the memory from getting too full. I'll still have it for a back-up. The other thing is the monitor will be higher, which I also decided I need. Decisions, decisions, decisions. I haven't had a desktop since the early 2000's. Now, I need to start getting things off my laptop - always fun, huh? I deleted SO much last night - I'm purging files again and trying to get organized on my system, and move things to Creative Cloud and my EHD's. A scrapper's work is never done. BWAHAHA

Trudy, do you love your iPad Pro? I still use my iPad quite often, especially when I want to take it into the living room - it's got a bigger screen than my phone and I also read on it. It's bigger than my Kindle. LOL - me and my devices.

Rae @bcgal00 thanks so much for your input, too. I knew that most of you worked with two monitors and I wish I had the room. Maybe someday, I'll get an L-shaped desk and have more room ro spread out. I have an office, but it's not very big. We really downsized when we built this home and it will be our last one and it's plenty big enough for the two of us, but much smaller than the big 2 story we had in Florida.

I'm going to go now and post my pocket page I made for Lilach.

XOXO

Just had to pop back in quickly.... I just uploaded 2 LOs using "My Story" collection by Karen Schulz into the gallery. There are photos of me at 1, 2 and 3 1/2. I really need to get more of the photos from Mom's albums uploaded so I can tell more of my story.

Good morning ladies. Jen got home last night but it took hours longer b/c of the weather in the mountain pass so we didn't see her. She is still sleeping but any minute now Bella will come flying up the stairs to us. Jen usually opens up her door around 10ish. The dogs will go crazy LOL. D went to get his eye exam and will order a new pair of glasses. I want a new pair but will wait a bit considering I've been spending tons of money later (camera stuff) and now maybe a computer. I was able to tweak the PS settings and get it working but it is randomly shutting down and I'm getting the error message, requiring multiple restarts, so scrapping is hit or miss right now.

I talked to a computer guy and I'll bring the computer in next week so he can do a diagnostic test on it to see what's wrong and if the graphics card can be changed if that is all that's wrong. They will keep the PC for a few days so no scrapping for that time and maybe longer if it continues to get worse and I can't use it at all, then I'll need to buy a computer. Whether I get a refurbished one like Trudy suggested or new, chances are it won't be in stock so will have to wait for delivery, then setting it all up which will take some time. Oh well. Whatever happens, happens. But if the graphics card can be changed and that is all that is wrong at this point, I can keep going for awhile before having to buy a new one.

@faerywings Glad the door is being installed. Glad you and your mom had a nice lunch together. Have fun tonight with the family.

@LSlycord Sending positive vibes about the job interview. Fingers crossed.

@BrightEyes I know, right? 6 yrs old is ancient for computer...ugh. My fingers are crossed this is fixable b/c I do like this PC. What is your favorite creamer? I buy sugarfree ones, right now gingerbread is my fave.

@taxed4ever Enjoy visiting your sister. Weather-wise, we couldn't be happier. The cold here doesn't feel like cold in the lower mainland b/c its so dry. No rain, we had a few big dumps of snow but otherwise we've had little bits of 1/2" or so here and there which just keeps things looking pretty. It's amazing how different the climate is here.

I'm getting more coffee and getting on with my day. HAGD everyone.
