I will start off with some good news today. I am digging deep but hopefully, that will help me out a bit. So-- Great news is that Clover's surgery went well. And if you didn't see where they had to shave her fur, you would never know that she even had surgery based on how she is acting. Crazy little girl! She had the one in her groin removed which was the bigger one and Cait was concerned since it was near the base of her tail and they use their tails for so much. But Clove is running all over with no balance issues at all. The one on the side her neck was really tiny but the strip of fur that was shaved there makes her look she has a lion's mane, but only on that side. She is so cute and I am so happy when Cait is happy.
She and Gary picked her car up from the shop and Gary thinks he might have been able to fix her rearview mirror at least temporarily.
The four of us have been working hard to get everything washed and vacuumed really well to get rid of any flea eggs. And Heather isn't any more yellow than she was the day before. No sign of fleas on anyone other than Heather too.

Today, Gary and I are going to finish vacuuming downstairs. He has been moving all of the heavy furniture. I had to laugh at seeing how much fur was under beds and sofas where we normally can't reach with the vacuum. Who needs cryptocurrency when we could have cat-fur-currency? :p

See, I can find some good things!!! Pathetic "good things" but good things nonetheless.

I am still exhausted and my neck is still so sore. It isn't the same as when my neck hurts from the arthritis in it or when I strain the muscles. I made a note to ask my LLMD next week to retest me for Mono/Epstein Barr as long as she is running blood work on me. So we will see.

I didn't have any time (for real!) to do any yoga yesterday between running to the vet/cleaning my friend's house/my house but I am still holding that in my mind and I plan to do some today.

Thanks for the good thoughts yesterday.

Nancy- so was it a good thing to have your DH home for the day?
Your dinner sounds really good! It was nice not hating how cold it is whenever I had to run outside. Still cold for sure, but sooooooo much better than that brutal cold we had. did you and your girlfriend have a nice time catching up?
I am starting to notice a tiny bit of difference in the dusk when I am cooking dinner. That is something that I will focus on.

Trudy- how was your hike? What a nice one to do with your brother, I am sure it brought up a lot of good memories. I also hope that you didn't push yourself too much. :nono:
What a perfect gift from DH too- bet that the poles will really help out when the trails are soggy.

Felis- thank you for the advice about Heather. I am just going to keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best for her. Scott gave her the pills yesterday and she was well behaved for him. I told him that it was now officially his job ;) We have her blocked off in the upstairs TV room with water, food, and litterbox. And no dogs allowed.
Heather is 8 years old and she is the one who got the mouse a few months ago. I was wondering if the fleas carried anything on them that affected her liver, but maybe the mouse did too?

Rae- you always amaze me how you can keep improving your scheduling, you are very in tune with yourself and I admire/envy that. I am much more of a ram through my day like a brick until I crumble. hehe!! Good job with getting yourself going with yoga and stretching!!
I can't imagine how relieved that Jen must be after talking to the center about B. I bet she is looking forward to seeing her this weekend. You too!
I like that idea of the Superman pose.
If you didn't see on FB, my Fitbit died and I am trying to decide between the 2 of the ones that track heart rate. The one has a breathing session and I wonder if I would work that into doing the pose at the same time? That might be a benefit...

Hi, Jean! Hope that the meeting went well!

Felis- isn't it wonderful to hear from so many smart ladies that support and understand? I love all of you for that and it makes me happy when I see that help other people here. Yay!
Doing stretches at your desk is much better than not doing them all at in my opinion.

Better get my day started. Even if I really don't want too :D

Good morning, ladies. Was able to get my work done by dinnertime, picked up Taz from daycare and spent the evening relaxing. Jen heard from B so we are all going up early Sat morning for the day. We will be leaving very early morning on Sat. I've got some clothes for B and hope to take a few pics of her and the surroundings outside. At this time of year I don't expect the scenery to be very pretty but it'll be fun to explore a bit as I've never been there before.

Last night we had crack slaw for dinner (love that name lol). Basically, it's cabbage shredded or coleslaw mix, slivered carrots and peppers and all that is fried up with ground meat (I use beef/turkey mix), spices, soy sauce (which I don't eat so use coconut aminos instead) and a bit of sesame oil at the end of cooking. I love it and D loads his up with cheese and regular soy sauce (yuck lol).

I found a recipe for homemade ranch spice mix that I am going to put together and use it with coconut yogurt and homemade mayo for a ranch dressing, and also will mix it with a bit of oil for a chicken/turkey rub for baking. If you are interested, here's the pin for it.

Chris - glad your spirits have lifted a bit. Good news about Clover.

Felis - we all help each here and sometimes different views and ideas are so beneficial to us. We are a great group of women here!!!!

Trudy, Jean, Nancy....everyone else....have a wonderful day.

I'm getting to work now. Back later.

Good late morning ladies... I slept until almost 8am, however I was awake quite a few times during the night, so still feel like I did not get a great sleep. Then just as I was about to post here, DD facetimed with me and we talked for almost an hour. Hunter is so cute and growing so much, such a happy little boy always smiling and now having so much fun in his jumperoo, bouncing around and having a blast LOL. It is pouring :rain: here today, but yesterday for our hike it was such a beautiful day! Cottonwood Creek was just lovely and not really a creek right now with so much water running it was more of a raging river. I hope to get a page done about it soon. DH and I used to go fishing in that area back when we were young and I have always loved that area! Not much happening for me today, I will stay home and just keep trying to recoup from this infection, it is taking its time :mmph:

Chris - Good for you for finding some positive in your life right now and I am so happy that the surgery went well for Clover! So happy that Cait is happy too! This darn month of January is typically the hardest one to get through isn't it? It seems to have the worst weather and seems never ending! Sounds like you and Gary are very busy with the cleaning and I hope that the fleas are under control! If only we could make warm blankets or something from the hair that our animals leave behind LOL. I used to have lots of it in my house too, some little fur balls always rolling around somewhere! I still miss my Mr. Abu even though I do not miss his hair! Yes the hiking poles are wonderful especially when going back down on a steep incline, they help to keep your balance for sure! I only use one of them as I find having two is just frustrating, especially when I am trying to get my phone out of my pack to take a photo! One is working for me right now, perhaps on some of the more difficult hikes I will use both. Hope your neck feels better soon and that you find some good in your day today!

Rae - You will have to let us know what Bowen Island is like for sure! I have been to a few of the Islands, but never to Bowen Island. I bet it is beautiful! I haven't made Crack Slaw in a while, I really should try it again. I imagine that B will be so excited to have the company and hopefully she is benefiting from the rehab! The hardest part will be when she is released to not go back to her old ways and hanging out with those that contributed to her using again! We are all keeping our fingers crossed for her and for all of you!

Nancy, Felis and Jean - I hope that you are all having a great day!

I better hit the shower and get on with my day, not much to do today, so I am hoping to get some scrapping accomplished and maybe start to clean out my cupboards and pantry, it has been a long time since I have done that!

The senior center genealogy group is always great . After that we had a talk with BIL who had called about more help with his problem getting his printer to talk to his computer. But after he left a message, he found a simple solution. We had a similar problem with one printer and when we checked it out, miraculously it too was fixed. Wow, are printers weird. In the evening we spent time on our annual January madness, a group effort on a long, complex trivia sort of contest. We get 50 multi-part questions, this year nearly 400 total parts. Often our group gets them all right but it is hard no matter what.

Now I've got to focus on my Saturday talk. It needs updating as it deals with online newspapers for genealogy. Just today I got two different news items about new things with online newspapers, so it just keeps changing and growing. The fun part of the talk is how items in the news can be helpful.

Chris, thanks for a positive spin on your day. Glad Clover is so resilient and making Cait happy. Just shiver imagining you all frantically cleaning, trying to be rid of any threat of fleas. Hope Heather deals well with her new situation and gets better soon. Not glad to hear your neck found a new way to hurt. Maybe a little yoga could help? Or not.

Rae, taking clothes to B will be a great thing as you are so good with clothes. Keeping fingers crossed all goes well with the visit. That dinner sounds so good.

Trudy, sounds like you survived the hike pretty well and that it was a beautiful day. How nice it has such good memories. Hoping for your rapid improvement!

Felis, I agree that any attention to your body will be better than none even if you don't have the full yoga experience. One step at a time.

Nancy, hope all is well with you.

Wishing everyone a good day.

Hello girls,
''Slighly Less Ugh Edition'' sounds good to me.
Yesterday (because I post this in early Friday morning) was undefined day, I couldn't describe it anyway. It was wet, but not exactly rain, is mizzle is the word (?!), it was cloudy, but not cold, it was satisfactory in quality of work I did, but routine, nothing special. There was a sense of anxiety, because of the memories which come back so unexpected before few days ago, and also for the things that happens to some friends here and there ;). I think one friend here is in trouble :frusty: , but he is not asking for help, so only time will show. I will not exaggerate if I say it was blur day.

Chris, I'm so happy about the good news for Clover! And pleasant to watch how good your vet medicine works. The fact that they want and can help to rat is so nice.
This is why I'm encouraged for Heather even more! Excellent that you can to put even the litterbox (I knowed it have special word for that, we don't) in the same room. She probably will miss the other pets but need quiet now. Oh, isn't a Scott adorable?! Don't worry unnecessary, like I say it was just my curiosity. Icterus is symptom witch show where is the problem, but we couldn't know what is it before the blood test results.

Rae, I can not hide my surprise from your expectation for the visits on B. To take a photos and tour of the nature in place which is clinic sound so strange to me?! I would expect quiet melancholic place. But this probably is another big culture difference, I hope it is! I'll keep crossed all my fingers hands and foot, that you are right and you'll have the day as you imagine it.

Trudy, I know what you mean about the low quality of sleep. I hope you had relaxing day with cranberry tea and book!

Jean, so this January madness trivia contest is about genealogy, history or so? Have a fun on a Saturday talk! You'll be brilliant I'm sure.
