(and might I pleeeeease ask for 2015 to be a teensy bit easier for me?? It is a pretty low bar, yannow :pound:)

Happy new year to all of my Fellow O-zies!!! How many of you made it to Midnight? Did you stay home and relax or were you out partying? I hope that no matter what you did, you had a wonderful time! I was sending out hugs to all of you too. ::grouphug

I was in sweats by 2pm, made dinner (homemade soup and bread, yum!) by 5pm, various kids/friends grabbed some of that, Gary and I hooked up my IV at 6 and this time I was done by 7.30. He was able to adjust the drip to go faster than the night before and I was still lucky to have no itching/flushing. By 8.30 I was in bed, with heat pack on my arm and back.
My GAWD I had the edgiest NYE Ev-ar!!!!!

My arm is a MESS! Gary did my dressing change and being able to see all of the bruising, wow it is bad. Gary suggested that if I ever need a PICC again, and the nurse is new to it, to ask for someone else. Great idea!

And more silliness in the Campbell medical sagas, as if there isn't enough of that- I took Scott down to the dentist for hus x-rays and consult. He goes in, about 10 minutes later he comes back out and says "Bad news." (He should *really* know better than to say that to me!!!! Brat!!!) But it wasn't really bad news, it was more aggravating. They went to take x-rays, and someone has exposed the last of the x-ray film. So now we have to go back *again.* And the oral surgeon is only in that office 2 Thursdays a month so the chances of him getting this done before he goes back to school-- pretty much nil.

We visited with my MIL for a while before we headed home. She is a piece of work! LOL I told her that I had keys and that we would let ourselves in. By the time I got the door open she was already there. I asked her, why did you get up and are walking around??
Then I couldn't find something in the fridge, so she gets up to get it rather than tell me where to find it. If this all sounds familiar, I think I did a lot of this too after my surgery reaching for things with my right arm, even though my stitches/incision still hurt.

Everyone is still asleep here so it has been nice and quiet while I drink my coffee and chat with all of you. I am going to post my January Webspiration Challenge in a few and I hope you all come check it out.

I hope that everyone has a wonderful day, doing whatever you are doing. We are not doing anything, although I think Scott is going to spend the day with Leah. I'd like to start taking the tree down, but that just might be too much work;)

QOTD If money or location were not an issue, would you ever spend NYE in Times Square?
I used to think that I would like to do it just once to say that I did (this was when I was way younger) but now, I don't think you could pay me enough to do it. Well, maybe a few million could entice me...

I just did a quick search and found last year's NY thread https://ozone.oscraps.com/forum/showthread.php?t=28334&highlight=January
Funny to see how things change and stay the same. Bittersweet to see Andrea C's post. She was a bright light here at the O.

Nancy- this year went frighteningly fast, which is what sent me looking for the thread from last Jan 1. I swear, this was the fastest year yet. I am so proud of you walking. It was frigid here yesterday there would be no way I would be out there;)
Traveling is a wonderful resolution!

Shar- how was your pinocle party? Bet it is one of those fun times with lots of laughing.

Trudy- I am sooo happy that 2014 was a good year for you. Here is to 2015 being even better!! Did you make it to midnight?
Joy, health and creativity- I am good with all that for 2015!! And back at you sweetie!

jean-- I am hoping for a more peaceful world too. I am not religious by any stretch, but I am really enjoying the Pope's message. He gives me hope for the world in the upcoming years. I asked Scott if it was creepy to have a crush on the Pope and he said that he didn't that would even be allowed LOL
Do you have a word for this year?

Shar- your travels sound wonderful too. :)

good morning and a happy 2015 to all! I did stay up to see the ball drop. For some reason I really enjoy seeing the new year come in. We have some strange neighbors. At 10 pm they set off all these fireworks. Why at 10 pm? Maybe they told their kids it was midnight LOL. We had a lovely evening - went for a latish dinner at Benihana's. It was really crowded but once we got seated it was so fun. The food was amazing! Came home to find my Devils could not figure out how to get shots on goal and such lost to Detroit 3-1. Watched the Canadian team defeat team USA in the World Jrs. Today is the Winter Classic outdoor afternoon game. So yesterday I stated my resolution was to keep traveling so Doug (who I went to Michigan and the Great Lakes last spring) set up another week of birding this coming spring. We are going to Big Bend Texas. Should see lots of birds. So good to know that my resolutions are being fulfilled.
QOTD - Chris you could not pay enough to stand for 11-12 hrs in the cold with no food and no place to go to the bathroom just to see a ball drop.

Chris so sorry about your arm! You need to find a pro next time to do this not a new nurse! Cant believe that the oral surgeon still uses x-rays film. My doctors all do this digitally now!

Trudy it is cold here and I did walk and I am going to walk again. I am very lucky that my travels to see kids are 15 min for my oldest and just to the bedroom for my youngest LOL. Bet you are so looking forward to your beach vacation.

Jean I wish for a dusting of snow. If I have to be cold I want to see some snow. Thanks for the nice comments about my travel pages.

Shar my knee is not always happy when I walk in the cold but I am afraid if I stop then the knee will not want to walk at all. Oh the joy of getting older!

Happy first day of 2015 to all!

Chris I'm so sorry about your poor arm. Years ago I had to stop donating blood because the people who were sticking me kept missing, and my arm would end up purple and black and yellow and green and blue from my wrist to half way up my upper arm. But at least I wasn't in pain like I know you are. YES...I vote for an easier year for you.

We barely made it to midnight at the Pinochle party last night. Turned on the TV to see the gorgeous fireworks at the Space Needle. But as someone said, "Next time you run over a pothole in Seattle, you will know why!" It does seem extravagant to explode so much money, when cities are financially strapped (although this event was sponsored by T-Mobile, so maybe it was advertising dollars, not tax money!). The food and the fellowship were wonderful, and I did not over-indulge. :D Feels wonderful to feel good this morning. DS and DDIL were in San Francisco just before Christmas, and brought us back some coffee from one of our favorite shops (Phil's). So I've been snuggled in my cozy bed with a carafe of Phil's this morning.

Love when the new challenges come out, so will scope those out today, and maybe get started. These challenges really inspire me to keep trying new things, and I almost always get pages for my kids done because of them.

X-ray film?????? My dentist has been all digital for YEARS! But I'm sympathetic to your frustration. One time I was supposed to have some sort of test done, so got all undressed and had the thingies stuck onto my body. During that time one person asked the other one at least 3 times to repeat my weight (I'm WAY over weight, which is the main reason I hate going to the doctor, and don't mind the dentist! --no weighing), so she's hollering my shame across the room as if I weren't there). Anyway, going thru a half hour of prep, and the machine won't work! So I'm told I will have to come back and go thru all this again. I buttoned my shirt and said, "When hell freezes over!" and walked out! I guess the test wasn't critical, because here I still am.

Do I tell too many stories? I AM a geezer.

Hope you all enjoy a peaceful day.

Nancy, I'm with you on Times Square in NYC! Standing! No bathroom! CROWDS! Cold! ugh. Don't think there's enough money to endure that kind of torture.

Happy New Year, dear O-zzies!

We did our usual Jan. 1 birding this afternoon. Brilliant sun, not that cold, but nasty wind. Didn't see much in the way of little birds, but found ducks and things on the lake. It's more the idea of starting a new list of birds for each year than what, let alone how many, I see.

Chris, you know we're all pulling for an easier year for you! I'm with the others marveling at a dentist still using film for X-rays. As always, hope things work out for Scott and your poor arm.

Nancy, we lost that bit of snow that was briefly pretty. Good luck with the Devils. Seems like none of us have championship teams in anything at the moment.

Shar, sounds like a lovely night. We watched local festivities on TV also, including fireworks. I too wondered who paid for them. They may not be as expensive as I would have thought as last summer one of the players on the Cleveland Indians (Nick Swisher) personally paid for fireworks after a game. I know players make a lot, but still, a corporation might not think it too much for advertising.

Hope it is a wonderful creative year for us all!!
So, after the fantasyland of December, I'm afraid it's back to reality for me.

Hey everyone "HAPPY NEW YEAR" I am very late getting in here today, but for good reason. DH and I have put every single Christmas item away in the crawl space and the house is clean and vacuumed. Whew!! It was a job and a half, but its done and we are happy that it did not take us too long! We did not make it to midnight, but watched a few of the neighbours who set off fireworks around 10pm. Nancy I guess that is because of the kids that it is done early. We watched a movie had a couple of cocktails and hit the sack!! took over before we hit the pillow. Wow what party animals we are :becky:

Chris - I am keeping my fingers crossed for you to have the best year every this year! Here is hoping also that Scott gets to have those darn x-rays done quickly too! Perhaps there is some other place he can have them done? Hope your arm feels better sweetie!! Ouch! It must be so sore!! Dam nurse, next time you see her give her what for!!
brod-kavelarg-smiley.gif

Nancy - You are very lucky that your kids are so very close to you!! We are keeping our fingers crossed that our son and his family will be getting transferred back to the Island next year. It would be wonderful to be a short drive from them instead of a two day drive!! I have no hope that my daughter will ever move back to the Island any time soon, so I have to settle for her coming here for the summer. :hurt:

Shar - OMG I would have given those nurses a piece of my mind for embarrassing you that way!!
furious-smiley.gif
. Then to have the machine not work!!
gaah-smiley.gif

Where the hell is Phylis when we need her, she would have something wonderful to say about your story!! I once told a dentist that I would come back to have my other wisdom teeth pulled by him when PIGS FLY!! He was terrible and I had a swollen, black and blue face for weeks. You are not a geezer LOL and keep those great stories coming!!!

Jean - Too bad that the wind was so terrible for your bird count. But otherwise it sounds like a nice day for you! It is a bit of a let down isn't it when Christmas is over and we have to go back to our everyday lives!!

Ok I am off to start supper, something simple tonight. Last night my Mr. Gorgeous BBQ'd ribeyes for us and fresh scallops, OMG they were done to perfection and so delicious!! I made a nice fresh herb rub for the scallops oh it was so good! Served it all up with fresh asparagus and hollandaise sauce and garlic potatoes. Tonights dinner will be very boring after that great meal. This morning we had eggs beni and Mimosas :champagne Happy New Year to us LOL. Enjoy your evening everyone, see you tomorrow
