helllllO O-zies!!
I am still in a very funky mood, but I am trying to pretend to be a bit more positive. Just feeling that there is way too much bad happening and it seems like such a struggle to find the good. I always believed in bright sides and silver linings but ATM, I am feeling shaky on that. I know it will happen. I actually *do* have a bright side! I was able to make my appt for PT Eval and I only had to call one place. I did a quick search on my ins co. website to see if perhaps there was a new center in the plan and there was not. I got the number of the place I went to last summer and voila! I have an appt for Monday. It took me weeks to get that straightened out last year. This was a blessing compared to that. :pound:
I also made the cashier at the grocery store happy because I was nice to her. She said that a lot of customers already had been nasty- by 10 am. Apparently, people get really freaked out when the weather is going to get bad and a little bit of sleet and ice got under their skin. I believe her. Gotta have the milk and bread in case you can't get out for a day. It isn't even that bad-- slippery roads, the schools have a delay and by 10 am today, we will be above freezing.

So bright spots of yesterday- I survived food shopping. I made my appt with very little hassle. (I am still trying to confirm that nothing changed since last year and that I do not need a referral but that is stress for another day).
*nods* I got this.

Today I am cleaning and this afternoon we will be taking Liv to the vet.

I forgot another bright side!!! I made banana bread and it is so yummy and I think it is going to be my breakfast. It has bananas and walnuts and whole wheat flour! That counts. :biggrin1:
HAGD!!!

Felis- I am happy for you that you got some snow! I know that you have wanted that for a long time. It is better to wake up to snow and forget that nightmare.
That is really interesting that your subconscious can't create a brand new face. I imagine that the faces that we think are new are just amalgams of ones that we do know.
That is to bad that you can't use a light to wake up.
I wonder if the shape that your friend says is a half rectangle could be a cul-de-sac?
th

Our black cat, Merlin, was the best cat ever. He was such a sweetie and we still talk about him a lot- at dinner last night for example. ;)

nancy- thank you for the info about the trains. I will check out the info on the NJT website and then Google Streetview. I think that driving will be much more stressful than walking a bit.
Both of my parents work in Newark for years but it is a very different city now - good and bad- but the traffic is too much. Unless my brother isn't working and drives them in or my ILs will carpool... I have plenty of time to deal with this. LOL
Ugh!! Another shootout loss. So aggravating.
When I was at my parents' and reading over the grad information from the college website, there was a statement that if the Devils had playoff games the date of the ceremony could change. I am sorry to admit that I laughed and told them not to worry about that. :(
Gary is going to make his penne and vodka one night soon- as soon as someone gets the vodka. Cait offered her bottle of vodka but it is S'Mores flavored so we hard passed. ha!!

Felis- Biggie is so cute in the snow!!

Trudy- :high5: for the excellent Drs report! Good luck with your fasting blood work. Fasting/no coffee is so much worse than any amount of needles. that is very nice that your Dr remembers and asks about Heather. Those little things really make a huge difference.
have a fun time at lunch don't cause too much of a ruckus!
I am glad you didn't get a lot of snow. Guess you were able to send it all to Felis. :D

Jean- how exciting to go away for a week and take all of the genealogy classes. Did you get in? *fingers crossed for you*
You have had so much good stuff happening all week. Have you scrapped a page for it yet? heck- your journaling is all done with your post.;)
I am so happy for you that you are feeling better and healthier now. I remember how awful you felt so it has to be a relief how far you have come. Proud of you too.
Our weather has been bouncing all around like yours but any day over freezing is a good one. (At least in Feb!) Woo hoo about the trucks heading off to Spring Training!

xoxo

Good morning girls!
Yes it's finally Winter Wonderland as it's supposed to be! The snow is still lower than 20 inch, but it's enough dad to start shovel trails, something that I can't understand why, as it will melt alone in few days. Except the driveaway and one road to the front door, everything else is unnecessarily. If we really need to go to the backyard depository just will wear high boots, right! Here I have to use Trudy's 'MEN!!!' exclamation LOL. At least the dog have fun around him. My isn't as Taz, his breed was created to watch over the sheeps at worse winters, so his fur is easily to be clear with one brush, without much snow to sticks on it. You saw him, he was stood at the door waiting family to come home, so to show them the snow as his own creation, silly boy. Not much else going on, but there is nothing more that I want.

Chris, sorry for your mood! But you are do lot of work and must be happy with your crossed tasks! Why Liv will go to the vet? I also waiting to calls me back for spaying appt. They didn't have previous week, because of sick vets  and I'm waiting, but not very excited to travel with scared cat at his icy roads.
Sorry I'll split your two posts but I'm not sure when will can to stop back here today!
Oh, OK, you are post it already. Nope, it's not this. You literally have to walk 'П' as your entrance is on one street and exit on the other few meters away and between the parallel alleys have playground, you have to go around. However! You always can describe it at this complicated way  .

Nancy, sorry for the results, but as long as you had fun on the stadium all is at the row of the tings!

Trudy, I'm sure what really worry Gary are the fact that he have to allow strangers to come, as you was mentioned before. He is too skillful to be disturbed by the needs from some fixing up project. And honestly, I can understand why, as at now days have every kind of freaks. But my sister use B&B all the time and it could be also lot of funs out there. Oh, mean, hope teachers to receive what they want (so deserved), in past teacher and doctors was most respected jobs, but in present looks like everywhere they're not properly paid!
Enjoy the meeting with your friends! It's sounds as promise for lot of laughter and fun!

Jean, I'm so happy to see your post! And can't understand what you mean with "dump all this at once", you'll need a much more work so to be able to compare with the novels me and Chris usually write  . Good luck with the registration, I hope you did it!!! Just adore the turkey/pheasant painting. The other is beautiful too, but bird is my favorite so far! Wow, how fast time fly, when it's went whole year?! The landing in the hospital was very scary episode, I'm so happy that now everything is behind your back! Oh yes 'U' shaped alley sounds better than half rectangle alley, but did the angles haves meaning?! I'm confused.

I did get in! And got a private dorm room. Now my class is the only one for that week with a waiting list, so it is popular. You can imagine I was happy. But that isn't until July. Last night we went to the bird club meeting knowing it would be fun. One of our younger members is just back from two years working in Chuuk in Micronesia and he gave a talk on his adventures, and boy is he adventuresome! We were parked in the museum's garage, so the car was happy but it was sleeting out and I convinced DH to come straight home so I could make a quick dinner instead of going out to eat. He didn't want to, but must have decided he really didn't want me walking on that ice any more than I did. This afternoon will be art class again. We're right around the freezing mark, so don't know how it will be out.

Chris, s'mores flavored vodka? Amazing, but not for that dinner. How funny it is to see the flavored drinks these days. Better to think about than the state of other things we won't mention. Hope Liv's appt. is OK. Isn't it nice to make a cashier feel better? I always like to smile at them and packers and say hello. We got to be friends with one lady but she's retired now. Some of them are quite young and seem to be sweet, at least to this old lady.

Felis, thanks for looking at my artwork on the blog. I think the bird one is pretty neat too. The other was just an experiment that turned into something, I think. Your Dad having to shovel paths is just making his mark on that white world. Not unlike Biggie being proud to show it off? Another thing I don't think you can change. And the road shape, I'm now not sure U is right either.

Off to get stuff (and me) ready for class.
Have a good one folks!

Morning O-zies! Well I forgot not to have coffee again this morning, so I guess my blood work will have to wait again LOL. I just instinctively get up and get a cup of coffee with my Tassimo machine  It's ok I will go soon, there is no hurry. I had a great time with my school friends yesterday, but lunch was not so great as there wasn't too much for me to have to eat there. I was hoping that they might have some egg drop soup, but nope, so I had a bit of chop suey. I wasn't very hungry anyway. Lots of laughs and catching up with each other it was fun! Then by the time I got home it was late afternoon and I had to deliver a Norwex order to a customer and then back home to get dinner started. So much for finishing my layout :mmph: I will try again today! Swimming and probably a face time call with Heather and both boys as they are home from school because of the teachers strike. I look forward to Friday when I don't have to go anywhere and can spend a day at home! Oh I forgot to mention that I got another commission to do a painting for the same man that bought my last turtle painting in Kentucky. He wants a painting of a tropical scene , island with palm trees lots of water and some under water life too. Yikes I hope I can get it done! So this weekend I need to get out and get the supplies I need. DH will have to make me the cradle wood canvas that I need as the customer wants a resin finish. I don't like to resin regular canvas, it never really turns out very nice.

Chris - I hope that Liv is ok and you are just taking her for a follow up check up! I figured you were probably not in a great mood with all that has happened with DT's impeachment trial :frusty: Or perhaps that is not the reason?? I am glad that you are still able to find the bright spots in your day though and how nice that you made the cashier smile on what sounded like a miserable day for her! Glad that you also got your appt. made with no hassles!! Hooray for the good things!! Enjoy your Banana Bread Breakfast!! It sounds yummy!! :hungry:

Jean - So nice to see you here again! What a busy time you have had lately! It makes me smile to hear that you are feeling so much better these days and that you have been able to walk a long ways with your hubby! I bet the bird sighting was great and I will look for your page in the gallery! I will check out your blog for the recent paintings too! Good luck with your genealogy classes!! I will keep my fingers crossed for you too!

Felis - I had to laugh about Biggie waiting for the family to come home so he could show them the snow that got for them LOL. I hope that my DH will make his decision soon so we can get going with some sort of plan for retirement plan. I think that a B&B would be fun too! We will see. I hope you are enjoying your winter wonderland and having a nice evening!

Ok Heather and the boys are calling so I better get outta here :bolt: Have a great day everyone!

good day - my Devils are in Philly tonight to play the Flyers. A hard game! Yesterday was a really good day for me - I was able to walk Luther, cook a yummy dinner and then head to swimming and then I slept like a lamb. Today is rain and so not easy to get out but I can still go swimming and I might. But cooking tonight for sure. Got another square done so I have done 11 of 30 so it will be a while before you see the finished product. But this square I don't like it at least it is done! They only send yarn for 3 blocks each month so it is a 10 month process not matter how fast you are.

Chris sorry about your mood. Vodka flavored is never my source LOL. Glad you got the appt. I consider banana bread a breakfast food! Enjoy!

Felis your snow is awesome! All we are getting is rain or freezing rain. I don't like wet. So cute of Biggie waiting to show off his snow. My DH loves to shovel and will just do lots of sidewalks just to feel good. Men!

Jean so good to see your posts. Congrats on getting in. You will have such fun! And a dorm room. Cracks me up to think about that again. Do you have to bring sheets and all that stuff? How nice you were able to walk on the bird watch. And really congrats on spring training starting soon. I told my DH wow now that football is over it is only days until spring training. He was not as happy as us. I have to say will all the immunity given to the players involved in cheating to win the World Series and the GM and coach only getting one year it is time for Pete Rose to be given his reinstatement.

Trudy you lunch with friends sounds marvelous. Glad that the drs. appt went so well. It is nice to have doctors that take time and that know you. I have had the same one for over 35 years. I am dreading his eventual retirement. So sweet she asks about Heather. Have fun swimming. I don't think I would think a B&B would be retirement. But of course you could set the days you would be open. You I know would be great at it! Have fun with the new painting. That is awesome to get a commission.

Have a great day!

Good morning, ladies. I've been busy with desk work, CT stuff and getting outside with the birds/squirrels for a bit. Now it's time to knuckle down and focus on desk work. I have to run some errands later this afternoon so want to get lots of work done before I head out. It's cold today. I can't seem to warm up. I have a hoodie on but need to go find a warmer one.

Chris - banana bread....I still haven't found time to make mine, maybe tonight. I've been craving it.

Trudy - awesome that you got commissioned to do another by the fellow who got the turtle painting.

Nancy - bet it felt good to get out with Luther. I love getting out every day for a few walks with Taz.

Jean - I bet the bird club is fun. I'd love it.

Felis - glad you are enjoying your snow. Our's is gone now, this last storm didn't last long. I'm ready for spring :)

I'm getting to work, gotta run. Have a good day everyone.

Brrrrr.... It was 13*F yesterday morning and it was 15*F this morning!!! Yesterday it managed to get to 32*F but it warmed all the way up to 40*F this afternoon. Too bad the wind is blowing so the wind chill put it down below freezing. We had a few snow flurries the past couple of days but not enough to even get the ground white. The mountain just out of town is covered with snow - about 6"-8".

Had a scare late yesterday afternoon. I was reading and relaxing when the carbon monoxide alarm when off!!! I jumped up and open the front and back doors and put the heat temp down to 50 to shut it off then tried to see what was going on to cause the alarm to sound off. Finally realized that the "END" showing in the view window meant that the alarm had reached the end of its life and needed to be replaced. So I had to bundle up today and teak to the store to get a replacement. Can't complain as was 9 years old and only warranted for 7 years lifetime. Was able to find the same brand and now have it installed so I can rest easy that is working.

Chris, banana bread sound so good!!! Yes, I have had it for breakfast, too. Hope things settle down for you so your mood improves. Yea on getting the appt set up so easily. I remember what you went through last year with getting it.

Jean, hooray that you got the class you wanted and didn't have to go on a waiting list for it. And WOW - you scored a private room, too! Don't blame you for going straight home so you didn't have to walk on icy pavement. Smart move on your part.

Trudy, how wonderful that you have your doctor for such a long time. I hear you about not wanting to think about when the doc retires.

Nancy, glad you are enjoying getting out for walks with Luther.

I need to make something hot to drink... I am still cold from being out in the weather. Think I will have some hot soup for supper, too. Just got off the phone making an appt with my tax preparer. Have it late next week. Hoping that the rest of the papers I need will be here by then. Will have to take a day to sit down and organize what I have already received before then. Ugh... hate tax time.
