What a day yesterday.
What. A. Day.

I should have stayed in bed, it would have been much easier to deal with.
Something was sniggling at me before I drove to the Dr. And with good reason. They never called to confirm my appt which a bunch of Drs don't seem to do every time but it put me on alert. I stuck the appt card in my wallet just in case there was a mix-up. I drive all the way down there, and the parking lot was mostly empty. Weird. I try to open the door and it's locked. There are three days' worth of "UPS "We missed You" post-its on the door. Very weird. A car pulls in- It has to be the office manager, running late, right? Wrong. It was another patient who had an appt at the same time as me. She tries calling the office number, the billing dept, and so on. No answer, no voicemail. It's like the entire office went *poof* Maybe into hr Bermuda Triangle. Or Brigadoon. I got her first name, thinking that if the office tries to charge me a cancellation fee, I have some backup. But who the heck knows? SMH.
I drive down to my parents and that was just awful. Non-stop bickering and it was really upsetting. Just awful.
They wanted to take me out to lunch but it was starting to sleet so I told them I needed to go home.(You always know when I am very upset, I don't like to talk about it. On the other hand, when something is mildly aggravating like the Dr's office, I'll write 2000 words of snark)
It was after 3 when I got home and all I wanted to was *nothing*, I worked on tagging some kits in ACDSee until it was time to start dinner. That was the highlight of my day- I blistered asparagus in my cast iron pan with some garlic and added orzo, lemon juice, and parmesan. That was so good and there are leftovers for lunch

I was supposed to clean for my friend yesterday but since I thought I had a Dr appt I switched it to today. It stinks that it is at noon because I feel like my day is going to be all chopped up. I am making chicken pot pie with the leftover chicken from the other night, so I have to make the crust this morning and then make the filling after I get back home. I know, in the grand scheme of things it is utter nonsense to think that is The Worst Thing Ever but it is easier to be annoyed at my schedule than the bigger things on my mind.
*taps forehead* always a method to my madness
Have a wonderful day!!

at your sheet folding video. I can see why it is your favorite *G*

. Mashed potatoes are usually reserved for holidays and calories don't count on holidays so I may do this again!
Incredibly frustrating. I called to get an appointment yesterday for my shoulder but I can't get in until March 27. Good grief! And I'm very glad that Cait doesn't have Covid but it sounds like that cold is really kicking her butt. Hopefully a day of some good rest and she will be back on track.
. Have a good day!

Your Dr.'s office is suddenly closed??? How the heck does that happen?? Sorry that your parents are bickering so much, don't they see that it upsets you?? Good plan to leave and get home before the weather got really bad, but too bad you did not go for lunch with them. Although you probably wouldn't have had a nice time if they were picking on each other! Hope that your cleaning job goes quickly today and you get to do something a bit more fun today! Wow $8 is a lot for going on a hike! We charge $2 for drop ins and $25 for the whole year if you are a regular hiker. It would be nice for you to be able to go on a hike with your son though!! Yes the kids are lucky to be in Cuba, aren't Americans allowed to go to Cuba now?? The beaches there are so gorgeous! You would love it! We have been there twice, once to Cayo Coco and once to Varadero, so lovely! Here is a photo of Sadie on the beach in Cayo Coco, sure makes me wish I was there with them!
. Glad to hear that all the outdoor furniture etc. stayed in place during your storm!
