Another day in the USA that begins with a heavy heart. :(
I can't express how I am feeling without getting totally riled up so I am going to do my best to :tape:

Yesterday was an OK day. I paid some bills and was able to update payment options for autopay for the new checking account. It is going to be a bit hairy trying to monitor bills on both accounts for a while but it will be worth it in the long run.
I made my totally unfavorite pain in the butt to cook but yummy meal too-- honey chicken for me and the guys and honey tofu for Cait over sesame noodles. I also went for a short walk with my friend from across the street. It was cold but not brutal. Her DD is at school for a semester in Italy and is really enjoying it a lot. I am so happy for her. It was nice to catch up.
I am also struggling with the cowl I am crocheting. I either miss or added a stitch in one of the rows and I can't figure out where. I ripped out a row and restarted it so I am hoping that I was able to fix it. I will find out today.

We have J's appt in the morning and then I am cleaning for my neighbor this afternoon. And I am already exhausted!

Sending you all love and peace here and to everyone who is experiencing grief and loss across the country and world. ::grouphug

Nancy- how awesome that you had sun. The forecast kept saying that it would be sunny but it didn't happen. I am probably the only person not watching the Olympics but some of the clips I have seen of the ice skating and snowboarding are insane!
It is always nice when a simple meal tastes awesome. Even more so when it is easy to make :)
The worst part of the dogs yanking on my arm is that I have bad bursitis in that shoulder and it just makes it so much worse.

Oh crap! I just realized that I am replying to Tuesday's Ooos.:frusty:
Oh well, here I go again... ;)

Ok back to Nancy! So happy that you had a nice-day especially that you are going to get to see some old pics! And yeah to the Hockey Gods! LOL
We do absolutely nothing for V-Day too although Brendan came over with flowers for Caitlyn. I might have my reservations on occasion but he treats Caitlyn well and she is happy and that is what matters the most.

Trudy- yup yup and yup- those are all reasons that I don't care about V-Day too although I do eat chocolate. Sorry that you missed your hike for such a stupid reason.
Again, I am that old cranky lady- but darn it, they don't make things like they used to!!
:gaah:

Rae- oh no. I am so sorry to hear about Bailey. I really was hopeful that this time rehab was going to work. Damn that boyfriend!!!! Poor Jen, poor you and I am not saying that pityingly, I am truly sad for all of you. Give Jen a big hug and have her hug you back from me. I wish I could do that in person.

jean- hope that your group was fun and that DH is feeling better by now.

Felis- I never hear of Trifon Zazeran- how neat that see that yet another holiday was "borrowed" by Christians.
 I would LMBO if Gary tried to wear anything of mine. He is the one who is tall in the family. I am 4'11" and he is 5'11" so much easier for me to be wearing his clothes for sure.
Hope that your work outside wasn't too bad to do.

xoxoxo!

morning - this as Chris said is another day of senseless violence in our country. Listening to the President talk about this makes me cringe knowing how little they act about doing something about taking assault rifles from the hands of anyone. No one needs as assault rifle. He says they want to do everything they can - then pass laws that take these guns away. Hard to talk about my life but here goes. My son said he was not coming home but then around 1am he shows up. He had to help with some moves at work. But then I could not go back to sleep for a while so now I am tired and will take a good nap this afternoon. My DH and I had a great dinner, chile and orange glazed chicken with mashed potatoes and roasted broccoli and carrots. Watched the USA men's hockey team taken a 2-0 lead only to lose 3-2 in OT. The women's hockey team lost 2-1 to Canada. If they both make it to the gold medal game it should be great game. They both want to win so badly. They are so intense. Tonight my Devils play the Carolina Hurricanes and they are in our division so this is a really important game for my team.

Chris hope you have a good day and your dinner sounds really yummy too!

Trudy hope you got your PVR replaced. It is a shame that you had to miss your hike so I sure hope they came.

Rae I am so so sorry to hear about Bailey! Sending hugs. I cant imagine how hard this is for you and your family. You are a strong lady to be going through this for so long. I am sure that Jen is so grateful for your support.

Felis I have never heard of that holiday!

Jean glad you are getting warmer. We should be in 60s today!

Have a good day all!

Morning ladies... I won't say its a good morning, not after the horrible events that took place in the U.S. yesterday. I will not vent here either, I might say something that I will regret later LOL. Also yesterday I found out that one of my friends that I used to work with in the Scotiabank in Saskatchewan died. I could hardly believe it, we have e-mailed each other for years now, ever since I left the province and regularly sent each other updates on our families and joke emails. Apparently she had a bowel obstruction which turned out to be cancer and died on the operation table. I am having a hard time trying to wrap my head around this one! I slept in this morning, but tossed and turned a lot during the night, so today I am feeling MEH!!

Chris - Sounds like you had a fairly boring day, like me LOL I did not get any scrapping done like I had hoped. Instead I spent the day trying to help DD out with finding certain add-ons for her kodi so that Mason could watch some disney movies or disney junior. Well that took up most of my afternoon and of course she had trouble with it all. I wish I was there so I could just do it myself for her. She is so totally opposite from her brother and has no tech savy at all LOL. Poor girl and then to try to find the time to spend to do it, makes it even more frustrating for her. :mmph: :gaah: why can't things be easy??

Nancy - Yes the womens hockey was very intense last night, it will be a very exciting game to watch should they meet each other for the gold medal and I think that will probably happen. I did have the guy come right at 11am to replace the pvr, it was a very easy and enjoyable service call, he was a nice young man and we talked and talked LOL. Everything is working perfectly now and he thinks that we just got a lemon with the old box. We will see, hopefully this one gives us no trouble. It must have been a great night for chicken dinners last night as DH and I had chicken last night also, spinach and three different cheese stuffed chicken breasts it was so very delicious! DH ranted and raved about it! Yes the horrible violence in the states is very upsetting and I for one do not understand why we need to have guns of any kind, but I won't go there. :tape: Hope you get to have a nice nap later on today!

Rae - Oh my goodness my friend! I cannot tell you how badly I feel for you and your family! So very sad that B has left treatment, I can't imagine what a worry it must be for all of you! I suppose there is not much else you can do except pray that she comes to her senses and be there for her if she reaches out to you. thinking of you today and wishing you peace in all of this turmoil you are all going through right now!

Felis - Hope your scheduled outages are over with today and that the weather has turned to sunshine for you!

I better get a move on and get to the pool, before it gets too busy. Try to have a good Thursday everyone, I know it will be hard with all that is going on in the world.

Good morning, ladies. We had a quiet night together, D loved his steak, cheddar baked potato and buttertart dessert I got for him. I enjoyed baked chicken and salad (decided not to have steak for myself). D got me some dark chocolate and I was so thrilled to hear that he spent the time reading all the labels and checking sugar/carb counts before deciding on what to get me. This morning I ordered blueberry lunabars from amazon (can't find them anywhere around here) so am looking forward to getting those in a few days.

We had a quiet night of TV together as we were both still feeling so down and sad about B. I am trying not to think about her too much right now b/c I can't function when I do. I'm so devastated by this. So....no more B talk. I was able to get more work done yesterday so am caught up and told the 2nd client that she can hire another girl to help with holiday relief as the regular work from her and the other guy are enough for me and aside from the occasional help if the other girl needs it, I am happy to sign off on that extra load. It always seems to come when I'm already busy with my main client. I'll still be busy with my regular job but at least that has become fairly manageable. Its the random dump of work that really messes up my hours b/c she wants the work done within a day or so which is unrealistic for my work load. We'll see how that goes.

Chris - hope J's appt goes well. I don't watch the olympics either. I'm not into sports of any kind. My least disliked is skating but even that I don't really care about. So, you're not alone...I'm not watching either.

Nancy - sounds like another delicious meal. Enjoy the game today.

Trudy - glad you got your new PVR and it works better than the old one. How great that you are able to help with the android box setup. D and I are clueless. We have tried and just can't get anything to work when we attempt. We always have to bring it back to our guy to do it. So, my hat is off to you if you are able to figure this out!

Hope everyone else is doing well. I'm getting to work now.

Almost 60 but gray here. The latter seems appropriate for the world today. In a bit we're going to work on trying to read details in more German church records as I'm doing some more there because of a DNA match who turns out to be related in the line I wrote the book on. The senior center group was quite lively yesterday. They are such a nich group of people!

Felis, hope you're having/had a good day.

Chris, you'll be busy with J's appt and cleaning and hopefully will keep your mind occupied. As to V's day, I totally disagree with you all. I like getting to remind DH of my feelings and I make him a card which he really likes (he saves the cards I make, stashing them away in some of our bird books but displays at first.) But we don't do anything else or buy anything.

Nancy, I didn't see the hockey other than a few clips. Hope they'll both make the gold medal games.

Trudy, at least you had a nice fellow come and maybe the new device will really be good but too bad you had to miss the hike. Hope DD finally got hers working right.

Rae, how nice D read the labels to get you chocolate! I know you said no more B talk for now, but I have to say I'm so sorry for all of you having this chance for her slip away. But I'm also so sad for her. To choose the thing that hurts her even after those weeks in rehab shows how deep her problem is and somewhere inside she must hate herself for doing this. Wishing you all solace and better days someday.

And wishing better days to all!
