Chris my darling. I know you are awake...I saw you elsewhere online. I hope you are feeling ok and not buried under a mountain of snow. :-(

I wrote a whole book last night, so I won't recap. Just hope that everyone has a good day!!

Hi Sara! Yup, I am awake, drinking my coffee. And now I am ready to check in here :tea:
And I am trying really hard to not scream and yell and stomp my feet about this damn snow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is coming down fast and at times, sideways...... This winter seems like it is never going to end. The first time I see a crocus poke up, I am going to swoooon! :)

I have got to got to got to focus on Spring and the positive because after yesterday, I am feeling ready for a pity party. Lyme appt went ..... well, I am not sure how it went. B/c of the cancer dx, she cannot put me on any other immune-suppressants for the inflammation and joint pain. That's fine, the methotraxate made me feel worse than the joint pain. But she is very concerned about my immune system after surgery and following treatment. I told her that I thought IV abx would be covered on my new insurance (I was wrong about that) and she jumped at the idea of getting me on that ASAP. She said that if I could somehow get everything approved that day, that she would recommend that I do that.
But yannow how much luck goes..... neither of the possible abx is covered. But no worries, my amazing parents said that they would cover it. So I call to get the PICC insertion appt at the hospital. They need to get the prescribing dr to call in for the appt. So I call my dr, they try calling the hospital with no luck talking to someone there and now here we are today- under a State of Emergency and I am sure nothing will get done for a while. I am not good at waiting! Esp since my next 2 weeks are crazy-busy. I just need to get answers on the first try.
*sighs*

So that is my day in a "nut" shell.......... Is it too early to spike my coffee with some Bailey's??
:D Love hugs and sun to all of you!

Temptation on Thursday:
Go down to hospital and insert the dam picc line myself! (That could get ugly!! LOL)

From yesterday:

Hi Phyllis! I know, this snow is killing me and the rest of NJ!!! Gah! We have used 6 of 7 snow days so we are lucky to have so many built in. But a lot of towns have used all of theirs up and are going to have to do either Sat. classes or take away some from spring break.Hopefully we won't go over our 7.
How did your letter writing go? It really is crazy how they overcharge for so much. And you know that the lowly repairman isn't seeing it- all to the bosses. The gear that starts our snow blower is apparently made very cheaply and is why they are always on back order. And its not like they are going to improve the part, why would they do that? :/
Meh!

Nancy- how are you doing with the snow? Hope its not too bad and they you don't have to deal with icing. I'll take a foot of snow over snow/ice any day.

As for Cait and what she said to the therapist-- her therapist told her what a great kid she is and she said that the credit should go to me. I told Cait that it is team work, that I could not have raised her so well if she wasn't so awesome too. :)

Trudy- hope that you are enjoying all of the Olympics. That is wonderful news about Heather and that sale!!! Good for her!!!

Sara, ahhh! I hate mornings like that!!!!! Hope that this morning goes smooth for ya!
Please send that warm air her and make all of this snow melt! Well, at least enjoy t it this weekend for me!!
Good news to hear that ben is feeling better.
How is your BP today? That is really interesting about the teeth clenching and BP connection. My BP is still running high end of normal but I'd love to see if it goes up when I find myself clenching my teeth during the day. Is it a stress thing? Not that I have *any* stress in my life. Y'all wish that you could have a Zen-Life like me bwuahahah!!

Ok my lOvely O-Fam, off to get the morning routine started.
Hugs!!!

hmmm. STOP IT, New Jersey!! (and New York, and DC.) i was listening to the public radio station in NYC this morning (because mine is in a two week fundraiser mode...) and NYC is getting slammed, too. it looks like The Blob is going to kind of arch up west and dump a little bit on me in an hour or so. it's pretty gray here, but that beats 8" of snow. Chris and Nancy, hang in there. this has to end SOME TIME!!

Chris, good luck with all this complicated healthcare approval stuff. "frustrating" just doesn't cover it. it's exhausting just READING about what you're doing. here, kiddo. have some Happy Stars:

Sara.
I can only imagine how sick of snow and slush you guys are!
i'd give a LOT for some slush. that would mean it was WARMER!! good luck with your BP.

Trudy, how'd you sleep last night?

i'm actually doing pretty well in the old recliner these days. what did you end up getting for the Valentine luncheon? what kind of laptop are you getting for DD? she's going to love you even more!

Nancy, are you knee-deep in snow yet? wonder what's going to happen to those un-shoveled sidewalks after THIS??

i've been trying all morning to decide what on earth to make for dinner. i am SOOOO sick of cooking and thinking about cooking and DOING cooking.
spya-smiley.gif
i'm looking for something DIFFERENT from what i always make. do you ever get tired of the taste of your own cooking? that's where i am. i think i'm making Chicken LoMein (with my lo-carb spaghetti) and going to the local Chinese for a take-out order of wonton soup and an egg roll for Hubby. then there's tomorrow, when i have to figure all this out AGAIN. :faint2:

Morning ladies... wow its really windy here today and :rain: this morning, but the sun is supposed to make an appearance later on today. So not sure I will be able to get for a walk or not, branches are flying and pinecones are dropping all over the yard, uggh that means lots of clean up in the coming days!!

Sara - Sounds like you are under some stress in your life, which is probably the reason that you are clenching so much!! It's one of the main reasons that women suffer from TMJD, for some reason men don't seem to get it as much as women. I think that another reason I have it is because I have a vertebra our of line in my neck that is connected to the nerves in my jaw. My chiropractor told me all about it and when I was going to him for back pain, he did make it feel much better. But now I am clenching again, so perhaps a revisit to him is in order. Hope your computer is acting better today!!

Chris - My gosh is the :smow: ever going to stop coming down on you poor people????

It must be driving you Crazy!!! Hope you get things worked out for your PICC insertion! You are so lucky to have your Mom and Dad there when they are needed!!

Phylis - Well I went to see what they had in the way of something for this luncheon and man there wasn't anything that looked appealing, so I called DH and said that I was just bringing a tray of fresh veggies and dip. So that was what they got!! It all got eaten so it must have been ok. Slept better last night, just get too warm some nights and that's what wakes me up, hubby is always cold and I am always too hot!! He has extra covers on his side and I usually end up with just the sheets on me LOL. As for Heather's gift, well Jonah, her partner is picking it up and paying for part of it too. He has relatives that own a electronics store so he gets a good deal. I think that he is getting an ASUS laptop, not sure if this is a really good one, but he seems to think it is so I put my trust in him. She will be so happy to have it!!

. We tried a new recipe that I got from DH yesterday, called skinny sumo stir fry, it was pretty good, let me know if you want the recipe and I will send it to you. We had it overtop of quinoa it was very filling!!

Well gotta get a beef stew started for dinner tonight, I love crockpot dinners!! Angle biscuits to go with it, but not sure if I will have one, they give me heartburn sometimes, I think its the yeast?? Hopeful that the wind will die down and I can get outside today. Enjoy Thursday everyone!!

Good morning today I am 62 and for a present I am getting feet of snow. It has been years since I have seen this much snow falling this fast for this long. Makes me glad to be retired. My DH had to go in even though his school is closed and txted me from the train station to say there was already 8 in of snow on the ground and he slipped twice as he could not tell where the ice was underneath the snow. He said if falling was an Olympic sport he would have received a 9.2 LOL. My DH was awesome and got us Frozen Four hockey tickets. I love watching college hockey and this year the finals are being held in Philly so we have two game on Thursday and one on Sat. Luckily I have a home games on Friday and Sunday. I had just mentioned this over the holidays and he actually listened. My son got me a gift card to one of my favorite restaurants. Not sure the other son will remember LOL. Have indeed been enjoying the Olympic hockey. The US men played Slovakia and won 7-1. Is the US team that good or was Slovakia just having an off day. They play Russia on Sat and we have been invited over to friends house for an early morning hockey party. That will be fun! I finished the Game of Thrones books - well at least all that have been written. Annoying that it does not yet seem ended.

Chris I totally agree that snow is so much better than ice. My girlfriend is living in the Carolinas and said her yard today is covered with broken branches but at least she had no real damage and only lost power for a couple of hours. Glad your doctors know all so now they can work together to make sure there are not conflicts.

Phylis yes I am knee deep and it is getting deeper. Luckily my son was off today so we can shovel but so far there does not seem to be any let up in intensity of the snowfall. And I can never think of what to cook. Tonight though I am having breakfast. I think French toast and bacon.

Sara I hope you have a great morning. I remember mornings getting my sons out to school and if it when badly it harder at work. Hope your BP is ok!

Trudy please tell me your weather is better than here. Talked to my sister this am and they are so worried as it is going to be 88 in Phoenix and they are afraid that the summer is going to be so hot since they have not had any winter.

Have a great day all.

and, Nancy. were you annoyed that all those characters got killed off? i have no idea where he's going with Game of Thrones now.
