38 Days Until Spring!!!

And we are above freezing at 7 am, the first time in ages I have seen that. Bam!
An hour ago I took the dogs out and everything was coated in ice again but that should switch soon. The sun is out so the roads should be fine when Cait drives to school in a bit.
I didn't sleep that good again last night (not that I had been sleeping good before, just this was a bit less good than usual LOL) On the bright side, my back is fine. (ok, not fine per se, but better than it had been too, so there is that) I swear, I live in a world of gradation. Never black and white, only greys. ;)

I started a semi-big project on my computer yesterday. I copied all of my installed fonts to a second hard drive and then deleted everything from the Windows folder, not counting the Protected fonts. I am going through them all and deleting ones I don't use, and trying to categorize the owners that I do. After that, I am going to install only the ones that I use all of the time.
That is going to be what I am working on today. That and laundry. Gary called the repair tech and the parts are on order. We can still use the machine as long as we wash everything in cold water.

And that's about it.
Sending everyone big hugs today!!

@LSlycord Was it long trying to get through to the Drs to make the appts or long because you were procrastinating? (For me it would be both) How fun to see your cousin. Did you have fun catching up in person?

@BrightEyes I saw your VR page and the journaling was so heartfelt and amazing. Sorry that you did it at 4.30 am. Did you sleep better last night? I hope your back is better today too.
The Red Hat group sounds wonderful. How many women are in the group?

@taxed4ever hahahaha!!!The stickers for the candles are so funny! Whenever we have to put the dogs on the boiled chicken and rice diets, their farts smell awful-- could sure use the candles Heather is making up :D
Did you have a good hike, bet it was so nice to get in the fresh air.

@mom2triplets04 Taxes are never fun. Last year, Caitlyn had to file with an Etsy business and Scott had bought and sold BitCoin. It was a nightmare trying to figure them out. Good luck gathering all of the paperwork up.

@Kythe How is it going by you? Everyone settled in with DD and the kitties?
(I am sorry if this is a bad subject- but you haven't mentioned Joey... is he still with you?)

@Cherylndesigns I am so relieved that the washing machine still works as long as I keep towels under it from when it leaks and we only use cold water.
Enjoy your gorgeous weather-- it will get here at some point.

@tjscraps So happy that you got some spring weather. But a motorcycle?? It had to be *cold* riding on that. I feel your pain in the checkbook - between the electric and oil bills the past 2 months... yuck. We are on monthly budget plans so we don't get the big spikes but even so, it seems like living off the grid would be nice. (Except that I *like* having heat and hot water haha!!!!)

Good morning. Had a great time with my cousin. Shaun was stalking us on Life360 as we drove down and he texted that he could come...we had just passed him. It was funny because Shaun normally would throw a fit about driving in the traffic to St. Augustine and then driving on the very narrow streets and finding a parking spot. But the diet has cramped the eating style for my kids as well as Brian and me so he was going to do anything it took to have a meal at Harry's. LOL It was fun...Sonia and Jim have two boys...26 and 23 so they loved having Shaun there.

I tried to do the urinalysis for the drug testing but the LabCorp at Walgreens was closed temporarily. They say that they may open next week. I'll tell you, service is just a mess! So I have a call into my company to see what I need to do next. The ticket was for that location so I'm sure that I will need to get a new ticket.

Cleaning ladies come this morning. I took over the cleaning while I wasn't working but now it's back to the cleaning ladies. I'm not fond of cleaning and when I work full time, I just don't have it in me to do all of the real cleaning. Huge benefit to working. LOL

It's cold here this morning (so what else is new?) but at least it is sunny and dry. I'm worried that we are going to go straight from cool to hot.

Everyone have a terrific day.

Should been working today, but I sit in my sofa. Cold, runny nose & tired. Urban is home as well.

38 days? So that means spring starts March 21st? Not in my neck of the woods. I'm sure we'll still have snow. But it's some kind of solstice or something at that time, right?

Need to get better. Have kits downloaded that I need to make something with. Think I'm late already. But gee, I'm tired.

@faerywings I wish that you lived close (how often do I say that?) so that I could hire you to clean my house. I need to clean up my computer...I've been sloppy about where I store my layouts. And I need to get some of these printed. Glad that your weather is warmer and that the sun will melt your ice. Andie was great at the vet. I was so proud of her. It is such a benefit to be able to take her during the week so that she doesn't have to deal with so many dogs in the lobby. Today I'm supposed to write up some facts that will make people want to adopt Decker. The real question, of course, is how much do I want someone to adopt Decker? I figure if someone doesn't take him by the end of March, we are definitely a three dog family. And, maybe even before that. (We do have first right of refusal.)

@BrightEyes I so loved what you journaled on that page about you! Really was beautiful and you really do inspire me with how active you are. You have learned the art of appreciation! Glad that the Red Hat club was fun and that you got some books into good hands while they were there!

@taxed4ever glad to hear that the group walks are back on. Hope that yesterday's was wonderful. And so glad that your kids are able to get together...I know that you would like to be there but I'm sure that it makes you feel better that they get to spend time together.

@mom2triplets04 I am planning on helping each of the kids do their own taxes using TurboTax. Our taxes go to the accountant however. I think I could probably take those back over...Brian and I now are just W2 employees so pretty straight forward. However, our accountant in Iowa has been with us so long that he feels like family! One of the pros of Florida is there is no state income tax to file here.

@Kythe hope that things are still going well with your daughter being there.

@Cherylndesigns yes I love that Florida is a destination spot. I figured that it would happen more but Covid slowed it down. It's now picking up again so it's fun to see people. Funny, my cousins are from Oklahoma City. I'm hoping to make a short trip there this summer...haven't seen my aunt and uncle since Dad died and I really miss them. AND why are you so much warmer than I am on a consistent basis! If this keeps up, Florida will not be a destination! LOL

@tjscraps that heat bill is crazy! Very glad that you are getting some unseasonably warm weather to bring it down for next month.

@tanteva thanks for checking in. I am so sorry that you have been feeling bad. This is dragging on way too long.

@RJMJ I am so sorry that you have been dealing with so many health issues for so long. Like Chris said, always feel to vent in here!

Now I'm off to get dressed before the cleaning ladies come!

Good morning all.

Chris, @faerywings you just made my day with Sponge Bob and Squidward!! That show is still the best and always makes me giggle. So do Beavis and Butthead. I'm very weird - Chuck thinks I am, at least. There's a commercial on about some old shows and Beavis and Butthead are in it. I never fail to giggle when I hear their laughs.

It's 56 and sunny here!! It's supposed to near 70 in a few days. Linda @LSlycord isn't it weird that we're as warm here as you are? Even Ft Myers, which is very south, has had a cold winter. It's actually been warmer here than there a few days. You're right, it will go from cold to hot. At least it does down there. So, your cousins live in Oklahoma City? That's weird since I said nobody came here. OKC is 2 1/2 hours from us. We're in the northeast corner of the state. We have very temperate winters, unless we get involved in a weird jet stream, which is what just happened. We lucked out though and didn't get nearly as much snow as some others did.

Kay, @BrightEyes your journaling really got to me, too. It was so beautiful and almost brought a tear to my eye. You are such a beautiful person and I love your Spirit!

Trudy @taxed4ever how wonderful that you got outside! I missed the candles - I'll go back and try to find them.

Rhonda @RJMJ I missed your post, too - need to go back to (yesterday, I think) and catch up.

I'm going to get going. Need more coffee and I have a couple of layouts started. Chris, @faerywings I loved your comment about winter (in the gallery). I felt like a hypocrite writing that. BWAHAHA If I didn't love Robert Frost so much, I wouldn't have used that one. He LOVED winters - the colder and drearier the better. I think dark winter days were his Muse. "Stopping By The Woods On A Snowy Evening" is my absolute favorite poem by Frost.

Sending a group hug - to all and special hugs to anybody who needs a special hug.

Good morning everyone! OMG another really foggy morning! Sure hope it doesn't take half of the day to burn off! Its supposed to be a sunny day today, but I might not be able to see it  . Yesterday's hike/walk was very nice, not too long or strenuous but very nice! It was good to see everyone again, however there were a few that did not show up for this one. I was home just after 12pm so I had the rest of the day to finish off my page that I started and I hope to get another one done today. Had some very sad news last night. A friend from years ago when we first lived in Sask. had passed away, she was the wife of the man that trained my Gary in his first posting as RCMP officer. They were such a fun couple and we became very good friends with them and many others that lived in that small town. We kept in touch for many years, but when DH and I got transferred back home to the Island we did not hear from them much and we were not good at keeping in touch with them either. So I had no idea that she was sick and certainly no idea that she had become an alcoholic and that her liver had given up on her. She passed away yesterday at 4pm. It was another friend from that time period that got hold of us to tell us the sad news. She had no clue about her being sick either and they have kept in touch a lot! Guess they were pretty good at keeping it a secret! Still very sad and my heart breaks for her hubby and their children! I will get busy making a sympathy card to send out to them. I hope to get my grocery order done today and perhaps be able to pick it up later on this afternoon.

@faerywings - Loving your countdown to spring!! It's not too far off now! Happy that you are above freezing this morning and that the sun is shining where you are! This is us this morning UGH!!

Well at least you know that the washing machine part is on order and that you can still do laundry, even if it is with just cold water, but I guess that will help out with the heating bill right??

@LSlycord - Sounds like your visit was great! So nice to be able to catch up after all this time! Nice that Shaun was able to join you also! That is wonderful that you will be getting your house keeper again! I don't like cleaning so much either, but with it just being myself and my Gary, there really isn't too much to do. No pet hair to deal with anymore since my Mr. Abu passed away a few years back. I do miss him, but not his long hair! Good idea to help the kids with their taxes, wish I would have dealt with all of that sometimes, but its nice to have my DH do it! I suppose I really should learn just in case though shouldn't I??

@tanteva - Oh my I am sorry that you are still unwell! Hope you and Urban feel better very soon!

@Cherylndesigns - Wow what great weather you are having! Yes you are weird LOL. I never have liked Beavis and Butthead, Sponge Bob was ok though. Have fun scrapping today! \

@BrightEyes - Well now I have to go and check out your layout with the journaling, don't know I did not see that one??

Off to get my grocery order in then hop into the shower, if I can pick up my order today then I just might make a stop at my fav. little craft shop today too. Have a great Thursday everyone!

Not having a great day! Does menopause cause you to be happy one minute and then crying the next? It's been off and on all day tears. I go through these I'm not good enough thoughts. Feeling alone! Talking to my dog. It's been really making me loopy. Also my birthday is coming up and I'm not happy about it. I'll be 52 on Sunday. I realized I have no friends. I talk to my dog and you here. Not working and speaking to others is making me go insane. Anyway, I'm going to pay my bills now and empty my washing machine.

@faerywings Everybody has settled in. It is really nice to have coffee and a chat each morinng with DD.

We did have a cat pee on our newly upholstered couch .... sign what can you do? Marking territory I think. DD was so upset. She has the cover into the dry cleaners which is pretty much all one can do. If the stain remains she has offered to have a new cover made. I figure we can just flip the cushion to the other side.
My entire living room is now under plastic garbage bags with towels on every corner to deter scratching, lol That and having the complex saga to deal with has been somewhat stressful. We are now getting unfounded "opinions' from owners who want to sell being posted on the community notice board. These are scare tactics and we will be writing to council objecting to such behaviour. I am afraid things will become much more confrontational before this is over.

Our little Joey passed last year. He lost cognitive function and had difficulty walking or knowing where he was.

Other than that life is good. Thanks for asking.

Yes menopause is a Bitch!! It plays with your hormones to no end. I am sorry you are having such a hard time with it! Not exactly sure where you live, but perhaps you could join a walking or hiking group in your area, its a great way to meet new people and you are outdoors, so a bit more covid friendly than other activities.

Here I am..... late in the day! I had popped in early and Chris had just started this thread. Had a couple of CT LOs to get done... plus posted a different one over at Just Art. Then ran over to the grocery/pharmacy to see about getting my 2nd Shingles vaccine. Turns out that I had to make an on-line appointment to get it due to the fact that it has been in short supply. So bought the groceries I needed... came home and made the appointment... for 5:45PM TODAY.... Drove over there a bit early as traffic had picked up at that time. Got right in and all done...Yea!!! Just had supper - now I need to take a preventative pain pill before I go to bed. Doing a happy dance... I got my 4 Home Covid Test kits today. Thought they wouldn't be here until next week. I am still waiting on some 1099's and earnings forms. Will go ahead and fill out the worksheets and hope the missing ones get here soon. Less than 2 weeks until my appointment with my tax gal.

Thanks to all who mentioned my VR LO... I am humbled that everyone likes it so much. I just spoke from the heart about accepting my life alone. There is joy to be found every day if we just open ourselves to look around. Have to admit that there are days that are hard... and I don't always feel like looking. And, yes..Chris... I was up working on that LO at 4:30AM!!! Talk about crazy but it did help me get through until the sun came up. ROFLOL I did sleep much better last night - got 8 hours.

Will try to do personals tomorrow. I am cold so going to put on some warm fuzzy PJs and socks, and crawl into to bed. CYL

First: Here at O We are real people with varied experiences, that shared more brave than in personal conversation. So we are more interesting than most of the people that someone is able to meet at personal.

Second: Nowadays online friendship is preferred than to waste your time being close with people with which you have nothing in common except the place where you live.

Third: When one woman told me that she have no friends on 52 I see devoted mother and wife who has given all her time to the family.

Last and most important: the fact that you can't keep long term friendships is probably because you are bragging yourself in very unsensitive way. What was these bullsh*** at Sunday, about how much money you are able to spend for a month?! We live all around the world and just because you live on place that allows you to spend my monthly income only for scrapbooks wouldn't makes you more important member for this community! Although it's pretty cool that you are able to support our designers, I admit that and honestly congrats you!
