Goodbye awful January, hello to a hopeful February! It felt like January was never going to end.Even if the weather stinks and I hate the cold, the mere fact that Feb only has 28 days will be a blessing.

I woke up cranky yesterday and it stuck around for a while. I really didn't want to go to the food pantry but you know, sometimes a Cranky Faery has to suck it up. And you know what? I am so glad that I did. I know that I say this every time I go, but the woman there who helps me is so darn sweet and funny and she restores my faith in humanity. Technically, I am supposed to get two bags of pre-packed groceries that usually includes some pasta, canned veggies, a box of cereal, that kind of stuff. Then I can get another bag of some things that I request. She always loads me up way more than she is supposed to. Yesterday, the pastor overheard me say that my dogs were squeezing themselves into the sunny spot on the floor so she said that there was dog food that had been donated.

Usually, I will get a ziplock of dry food, but it hadn't been bagged up yet, so she brings out a big bag of dry food for me-- like a 15 lb bag! Plus about 8 cans of dog food and a pack of treats. I told her that I didn't want her to get into trouble but she said not to worry and that she likes me, so there.
She has dogs too and when I brought over the Christmas cookies last month, I gave her some of the dog cookies that I made and she said that they loved them. I bring more next time I go over there. So one good turn brings another and another.

Do you remember back a few weeks when Cait was supposed to go to the Court hearing but we never got the Certified Letter saying that the hearing has been delayed? The certified letter that I went to pick up-- yesterday, Jan 31- was that letter, postmarked Jan 6. That is insane! Cait started to read the "new" letter and was getting aggravated because she thought that it was being postponed yet again. When she reread the dates, it all came together. Good thing that this certified letter wasn't important. /snark

Today will be a long one for me. I have a dentist appt in the morning and my LLMD in the afternoon. I am dreading the whole darn day. Whatever...:eek:hwell:

Wish me luck that I don't fall asleep at the LLMD appt. 3 pm is my witching hour and my appt is at 2.30- which means I won't get seen before 3. Ugh. At least she will see me in my "natural state" not the highly caffeinated one she sees when I have a 9 am appt. :cof2:

xoxoxo!!!

Nancy- I saw the moon briefly out of my kitchen window and I was too tired to pay it much notice. Now I wish that I had. Yay to your Devils!! I hope that they keep it up!
One "good" thing with all of these health insurance/dr mix-ups is that I am able to help Caitlyn navigate through the mess of Customer Service issues. Names, dates, plan of action-- all of it was written down. (Not that he has called back again. pfft)
The prodigal cat was on the bed and actually sniffed my hand. So good to see him.

Rae- That is awesome that you had such a fun time at the game but not so awesome that the popcorn made you feel so badly.
It is so *wrong* that Jen has to choose between her DD and her job. Thank goodness that she has you and that you can help her with B. B needs that family support so much, I would think. What a great mom/grandma. You rock!

Trudy- and here is another fantabulous mom/grandma! You had a really busy week, didn't you but it sounds like a wonderful time!

W is whining, posting this and I hope to BRB!

Good morning girls,
and happy new month! I'm So relieved to let all behind! Hope to my new beginning, let's pretend that year start with the Chinese New Year! :second:
Here was cloudy so I couldn't see much from this Blue Blood Super moon. I take some pics with my phone, but they aren't nothing special. But She really looks bigger, but not brighter or blood. However, my pagan roots tolds me that this is very good sign. So I expect a lot from february!
My goals for the month are to repeat the yoga poses that already learned. I do not see the benefit of constantly adding new ones, till I'm not improved these. I'll try something new, but more for that later ;) ! And this is my last chance to scrap more before to the start gardening, so GO :cheer2: ! On basic point I don't like the changes, but I'm curious to see with what new will surprise us the whole new look of the challenges next month?! I'm rise up early and started the day with download and organizing all kits I have from previous month, so pleasant way to start a day!
Oh and we still are in this unusual early Spring, so we spend a lot time outside. But we still have some hopes for snow at the weekend. Keep your fingers crosed and send me all snow that you don't want!

Europe celebrate Harry Potter Day. I'm too old for that but fan Forever! :wickedwitch

I'm left you personal notes in my yesterday post, so will add only today updates.
:peace:

Chris, good luck with all these apps today! Oh, you have to invent a small reward for yourself after so stressed day, like rewatching favorite comedy or so! Such a nice lady is this! Correct, dog owners have to help one each other, we are a team against the cruel world! :pupkiss:

Ok, that wasn't so bad- all three pups are back in.

T- how nice to be able to see an old Elementary school friend! I always worry that I wouldn't have anything to say. Heck, that is how I feel with my BFF and other friends from town. I have nothing to say or contribute. Oh well. Someday life will be a bit more fun.
:pound: Sorry for laughing about how you hate the mouse. I yell when I have to use the kids' laptops for anything since I am horrendous using a touchpad.

Sharon- welcome back! How is your dad doing?

Felis- as you know, my cats- maybe because they were/are indoor only?- all of them were very snuggly (or smothery in Kibs case :) ) and his cats are very snuggly with him but only him. I was happy that he sniffed my fingers before jumping off the bed.
people have hinted to us about getting another cat- my dad joked about how long it would take for us to make a trip to the shelter. Not now...
Your translation for the disabilities are correct, that is how we would say them too. However - I had to chuckle at the translation at the cats walking 'with this breastplate." I think the word that you meant is "abreast" as in side by side. I had an image of your cats in chain mail and wearing breastplates -Warrior Kitties LOL
(please know that I am only teasing you-- not making fun. But also to show you that even if the translations are off a bit, we know what you mean. hugs!)

That would we call a harness or a halter.
I can't imagine trying to put one on a cat and taking it for a walk. :pound:

And as a side note- they make them for rats (CRAZY!!!) and Cait bought them for her girls, but they want nothing at all to do with them. She thought that if they would put them on, she would "walk' them around her room. She laughs since she knows that is pretty ridiculous

good morning - I cant believe it is February. I love this month. I just back from the vet with Luther and a check to make sure his ear infection is mostly gone and yes it is so that is awesome. I then took Luther on a walk around a pond and saw a blue jay and geese and several mallards but other than that not much stirring. But nice to get out at the temps are above freezing. Might be snow tonight but starting as rain. That sucks as I have a game tonight and I am probably going to have to drive. OH well it is only rain. My DH is meeting me at the game so that is sweet. We are playing the Flyers and we have yet to defeat them this season. My back up goalie is starting and their back up is starting too so my team should be able to score. Had a nice time at dinner but found out a good friend is going through a really rough time and that there is nothing we can do but be for her. So sad.

Chris good luck at the dentist and with you LLMD dr. How sweet that the FP woman is so nice and thoughtful. That is terrific about the dog food. That rocks. Glad that the kitty did not hiss at you even though it did not want to be petted.

Felis have a happy month. Back before we had Luther we to take our cat out on walks. She loved it. Now she is an older cat and it is just leave me up here in my own space. The kitty I was talking about just walked near them but was not on a leash. She is pretty much an outdoor cat that comes in only in inclement weather.

Trudy what a lovely way to end the baby-sitting by having you all together. And to have you make sure it was spotless I am totally impress and would have you baby sit at any time. It must have been fun to see how your grandkids are growing up! You are lucky!

Rae so glad you had a good time at the game. While the Canucks might not make the playoffs they sure have a lot of good young players who will only get better. There is something so much better about seeing a game live! Sorry about the popcorn making you ill. Feel better!

Jean how is your weather. What are you thoughts on the Cleveland Indians and the logo change? Will seem different. I wish the NFL would get rid of Redskins too.

Sharon hi welcome back.

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. Made it thru yesterday with my overload of work and now I have today and tomorrow to get thru. I know I'll have to work this wkend to finish up b/c doing the full time load for both clients is too much for me to get done during regular working hours. But, its a blessing b/c it'll be a larger pay cheque mid month to off-set this smaller one now. Good thing I like my job LOL. Sometimes the hours are crazy.

We watched "This Is Us" last night and just have one more episode to catch up and then we'll be ready for Sunday's episode after the game. I know its going to be a tear-jerker.

My issues with eating the corn have pretty much cleared up. I'm glad I did it. It re-enforces why I'm doing this lifestyle change, why I've given up certain foods. They make me feel like crap. I'm coming up to my one year mark in a few wks (Valentines Day).

Chris - that so funny....little harnesses for rats. They would be so itty-bitty LOL. Good score on the dog stuff. See, put out the positive, happy vibes and they come back to you. I'm not surprised the food pantry lady likes you so much :)

Felis - gardening soon...yes, I will need to get out in my garden and cut back the bushes before they bud for the spring. I am a terrible gardener, I love to see the results but hate the work :)

Nancy - yes, the Canucks are a young team now. Most of the oldies are gone. It was cool to see the Sedin brothers. We really enjoyed being close enough to really see their expressions and gestures. A few times it was unsettling when they fought right up about the plexiglass. I thought it was going to come down a few times LOL. The guy in the row ahead of us got a stick at the end of the game and cried, it was so sweet to see. Even though I really don't care for hockey much (or any sports), it is an entirely different thing to be there. I screamed as loud as everyone else, I got so caught up in it LOL.

Trudy - you must be home now, probably tired. Sounds like you had a wonderful time with the family.

Everyone else....hope all is well.

I'm getting another coffee and getting started on work. Busy day ahead. Have a great day!

Morning ladies... It is a new month and I am off to the grocery store right away! Of course DH did not do any shopping for food while I was away so I don't even have creamer for my coffee!! :gaah: I can't get my caffeine fix!! I have lots to do here today at home :washing: and then of course groceries and some cleaning. Some behind the scene things here at the O and its also DH's birthday tomorrow so I need to get him a little something. We also leave very early in the morning tomorrow for DH's MRI on his knees. Probably a trip to Costco and hopefully we will have his birthday supper at the Rock Cod Cafe in Cowichan Bay. :hungry: love the halibut and shrimp dinner!!

Chris - How wonderful that the lady at the food pantry is so good to you! Yes one good deed deserves another! Too bad most of the world does not abide by this rule. Your Caitlyn will be an expert at dealing with health insurance issues , she has you to guide her along the way! Glad that the letter issues turned out ok too! I hope that your day goes by smoothly and you don't fall asleep in the dentist chair! I can just picture you there with your mouth wide open snoring away LOL.

Felis - Happy Harry Potter Day! I hope that this month of February brings all good things your way! Love your photo of the cat in the harness! LOL

Nancy - Glad you got to get out for another lovely walk with Luther! Always enjoyable when you get to spot some wildlife along the way! Hope that the snow stays away for you and you only have to drive in the rain not snow! Enjoy your game tonight, I will be cheering for your Devils to defeat the Flyers and yes it is sweet that your DH will be joining you there! My drive to meet DH was made better by everyone coming with us and us all going out for supper to a BBQ place called Smokin Georges, it was very good and DH was happy to be able to see the kids again! Son and DIL had a wonderful time in Vegas, but are glad to be back home. It was a good week!

Rae - Nice to hear that you had a great time at the hockey game! I feel your pain about the popcorn issues! I am bothered by it too, especially by microwave popcorn, not so much by the other though. I still have to watch how much I eat of it or else that will bother me too! Hope that you are not having too heavy of a work day today!

Ok I better hit the shower and get to the store! I am having caffeine withdrawal :becky: Enjoy your day everyone!

I have a cat walking story too. When we moved to this house the couple next door had a small black dog that the man took on walks in the neighborhood. They also had a tiger cat that would follow along, at least part way. The next people in the house were younger and had a large black dog. The man walked the dog and his tiger cat would follow for a ways. He was quite surprised to learn he was the second iteration of that scene. I'm sure neither cat would have tolerated a harness though. Today is gray, snow largely gone, but will be cold tonight.

Chris, the FP lady sure makes things better! Hope the appts today went well. That certified letter is a terrible story. Wonder if the court or whoever sent it should be told? But good for the prodigal kitty for being better with you.

Felis, wishing you a much better month in February! I'm also not big on change, but maybe the new challenge look in March will be even better.

Nancy, hope you have decent weather and a win at the game tonight. That was a nice walk with Luther. Does he bark at geese like he does cats? As to Chief Wahoo, I grew up with that logo, so it wasn't ever a conscious choice to associate it with the team. But it has become embarrassing too so the decision to "retire" it in 2019 (probably in exchange for the all star game) seems right. And, since it is now February, pitchers and catchers will soon be here!

Rae, good luck with all that work! Seems like you have more to do all the time.

Trudy, here you are home and tired again. Hoping for good results for DH's MRI. Wish him a happy birthday from us all.

Sharon, hope things are slowly easing for you.

LindaS, how nice to see you back!

Cheers, all! And Happy February.

I know I shouldn't give advices! Just a few hour after I was talk with Chris to be careful with the cat I received deep scratch on my lips and from my own cat not from strangers. I was start to clean his muddy paws, but he wasn't in good mood and somehow turned around and catch me. It's not surprising to get scratch on my hands, but not on my face. Nasty boy!

Nancy was told "leash", I do have leash for Tiny, but cats makes many more movements than the dog and I'm afraid to not hurt their spine till they try to free themselves. But these ''abreast'', or ''harness'' wich are bigger so to cover their breast and back, are something that I can imagine on my cat. Maybe if you learn them from babies wouldn't be so dangerous to try put them in :) . What I don't understand is why?! Most people need cat to share with them couch and lazy evenings. Or if cats need more move and you are irresponsible (as some persons in our group  :D ) you just let them out dors, why to laste time with cat walk?! And they climb most of the time. We have two or three homeless cats which sometimes walk with the dogs and their owners on a dog walk, but this is way to receive some food treat. Jean, this is so sweet and in the same time strange, that the life constantly repeating similar scene. And I didn't know that they make these harness for rats, crazy indeed, but why not when it have for all others. I think I'm saw for rabbits, but they are from this smaller model like for dogs, not like t-shirt like on the pic, wich by the way, is from the pet store.
But I became too chatty about that. Will come back at the evening for real daily post.
