Good morning!
Good news! I slept past 4.30 this morning!
Bad news! The reason I did is because I was up for over an hour at 3 am. The wind must have been making our power flicker to the smoke alarm system was going into trouble mode, beeep beeep beeep. Get out of bed, hit reset, and wait a bit since it needs to be reset 2-3 times. Get back into bed, try to fall asleep. Beeeep beeep beeep. Get back up, let J out. Hit reset. J inside. Hit reset, Now W needs to go out. Hit reset. W inside. J is freaking out b/c she hates the beeep beeep beeep. Get back into bed.
beep beeeep beeep
Get Gary up to turn it off from the fuse box.
Finally get back to sleep.

*yawns and sighs*
It was a fitting end to a day of semi-comical mishaps.

I decided to go with Gary to the inspection and do some Christmas shopping together on the way home. The only problem was his sugar was sky-high and making him miserable. That also aggravates his chronic nausea so he was not having a good morning. eep. He gets in the shower and the shower head kept falling off and hitting him on the head, not making his mood any better. We drive to Wayne, get a showerhead from Home Depot, and then inspection station. Whew, all good!
Decide it was not a good time to go shopping so we head home.
I had just enough time to get some Magic Bars in the oven so I get out the ingredients and the two baking trays. Turn around and knocked Gary's blood meter into the dogs' water dish and it is soaked. I put it in rice - bad move the rice went into the port that the strips go into. It's shot.
We start getting the tree up and all of the lights are half out. Each strand was working until he put them on the tree and then poof! Half of the bulbs are off. Every darn strand. Next up, my job of putting on the beads. Except three of the strands are all knotted together. As much as I tried to untangle them, I couldn't do it. So we decorated the tree with only half of the lights working and the garland only on the bottom half of the tree.
But we persevered!
The tree is (mostly) done and we watched a movie together and life is good.

I hope the universe got all of its mini-misfortunes out of the way yesterday so I can move forward today.

One other weird trick it pulled on me yesterday- I got that email that the pair of shoes I ordered for Cait were on indefinite backorder. Found them on Amazon, bought them even though the price was way higher than they were at Macy's with the sale. After I got home, there was an email from Macy's that the shoes had shipped! Logged back into Amazon and thank goodness I was able to cancel the order!
What a mess of a day!#cry

Here is today being a better one!! *cheers*

@LSlycord hahaha about the missing Tuesday post, so glad it isn't just me doing silly things, where are our heads? I know mine is still attached cuz it is still hurting. *G*
What cars are you looking at? Cait's car (Equinox) is really nice but has weird blind spots. Mine (CRV) is much better. Scotts (4Runner) is nice and high up that I can see everything but that is not the easier car to park, esp compared to my little CRV.
I love driving my mom's car with the lane assist and the warning lights in the side mirrors. Good luck when you get ready to buy!
LOL-ing at Syd's stall tactics. And congrats to Shaun for finishing up this semester! They are moving along ♥
Thank you for noticing the tree smilie-- it is very cute! Christmas Tree Still miss that rolling pin one... and the Thud one. I used that a lot hahah

@vickyday hope your head is better today, mine is not, guess I am loading up on Aleve again. You are having similar weather to us, so foggy yesterday and today. Could be worse, it could be snow so I will take it. I have never heard of Charles Martin- where do you get your audiobooks? I use(d) Hoopla a lot but I haven't listened to an audiobook since I finished the last Diana Gabaldon in the spring
Hope the rest of your PJ Day was wonderful!

@BrightEyes Woot on the coffee creamer sale! I only bought 2 half gals of half and half b/c they went up again in price and there is no way that we will make it to next week. Why is everything so $$$
I knew you would relate to the map, the Western end of LI is probably very similar!
Did you scrap anything for Day 7? I haven't had a chance to, or even see the Gallery-- Bad Faery/Cheery O

@bcgal00 Ya did it!! *jumps up and down* I knew you would make the blueberry squares! (sure I did... heheh)
How long did Taz last at the park? Which coat did he wear?

@Cherylndesigns Don't get me started on Christmas Tree lights! Bwuhahaha!!!! Good luck getting your tree and lights done.
Wow, I don't know if we could cut the cable cord. We have talked about it but never could do it. LMK how it works out please.

Good morning ladies! I've been up since 5:30...that full moon was shining in my window and woke me up. Not complaining because it was beautiful. I made the chocolate no bake cookies yesterday and tried a new recipe for maid-rites that wasn't bad. Other than that I spent some time in the gallery which is just amazing and I still didn't wrap the gifts.

Now the sunshine has replaced the moon and I love it! Just so pretty this morning. And the birds are busy singing. So it's just perfect. It really feels like springtime back home. I'm working on a year in review template for 2022 by Connection Keeping. I have completed it through September. And it made me happy to see what 2022 looked like as I searched for pictures.

Started a new book yesterday and so that took some of my time. And I'm sure it will take more of my time today. I'm also behind on scrapping for the challenges. I need to do a Christmas song and then the Christmas memory. It's narrowing it down that makes it hard. Going to fill up that coffee cup one more time before coming back for personals.

I am with you, Chris... back to waking up at 4 AM. Managed to doze until almost 5. Thank heavens I didn't have the smoke alarms beeping at me!!! Turns out I forgot to turn the heat down from 70* to 65*F last night - so spend a lot of the night tossing the covers off and then pulling them back on! UGH! Good news is that it is warm enough to take my shower whenever I want this morning.

Had to wait until et designs released her new Magical Advent bundle today to add Day 7 LO "December Memories". Also made another LO with it - love the gold, white, green colors. Was having fun playing the Day 8 - Enable Me Game, too.

Had a long talk with DD#3 last evening. She is still battling RSV and her voice is hoarse, Hoping she will get over that soon. Lots going on at her house so it took awhile to get caught up on the news. Their Christmas present is a new 64" TV that will be delivered and installed (wall mounted) a few days before Christmas. Glad the Geek Squad is doing the install for such a big TV.

I should run a few errands while the weather is okay and before the 'big storm' arrives early next week.

@faerywings it sounds like yesterday was just a disaster. And waking up at 3 this morning and then spending the next hour awake is not a very good start to the day! But, at least Cait's shoes will be here for Christmas. We are looking at a Kia Sorento or a Hyundai Santa Fe. I have in my head that I want a 3rd row...because if we go somewhere with both kids and the dogs, we really could use that extra space. But, how often will everyone load into the car together...I don't know. So I may need to rethink that. We had started looking at the Kia Telluride but the Sorento is just a bit smaller which I would like when trying to park the darned thing. Don't know what we will decide. I'd like to keep the Elantra too so that Brian and I would each have a car but the car insurance down here is so high that I think that's a no.

@vickyday I have started reading a book by Charles Martin. Where the River Ends is the one I picked...it is set right around here so that makes it particularly interesting to me and he lives in Jacksonville. I didn't start it until last night so I only got through the first six chapters but I'll get more done today I'm sure. Hope you enjoyed the

@bcgal00 while I'm sitting here typing this the cardinals have been singing loudly. Then one flew right into the yard with his mate close behind. I love cardinals. Glad to hear that the blueberry oat bars turned out well. Hope the Costco run was equally successful.

@BrightEyes that is cold! And I agree, time to get a new thermometer while it isn't urgent. Then you will be ready! Yes, I think having a car that nags at Brian is a much better approach than me nagging at him. And hope that you get those errands all done so that you can just sit back and watch the "big storm" approach.

@Cherylndesigns I too hate the lights on the trees. We couldn't figure out on the new tree how to get the lights going and I was so frustrated...I thought it should be worth more than one year. Well, Shaun looked at it and there was a piece that we hadn't plugged in so he fixed it. I'll tell you having the kids around makes such a difference! I get frustrated when one of the streaming services needs a new password or something but I sure love not being attached to cable!

Ok...off to finish my 2022 year in review.

Yes, Hoopla and also Libby. Usually what one doesn't have available the other does. Libby seems to have more available. I have really enjoyed Charles Martin's style. There have only been a few that I had problems getting into. One of them is the one I'm listening to now. The Long Way Gone. If you decide to listen, try the trilogy. Those are the ones that got me hooked on him!
My headache has been better, however my stomach is a mess today. I think I had too much dairy last night. Sometimes you just gotta do it, you know what I mean? And I agree.....I'll take the fog and rain any day over snow! I only want it to snow one day a year.....Christmas.....and then melt the next day, LOL!

WOW! You certainly had "One of Those Days" for sure! Hope today is so much better for you! But glad the shoes are finally shipped from Macy's and that you got the Amazon order canceled!
I hate dealing with tangled Christmas tree lights! There is no good way to store them except wrap them around something. But by the time I get to the lights I'm fed up and just want to get the job of putting everything away DONE! So the lights usually end up a tangled mess! Might be one of the reasons I haven't put up a tree lately!

Good Morning!
I stayed up late knitting on the baby blanket last night. I just HAD to finish the first skein of yarn so I could add the second one today! (I'll have to post an updated pic tomorrow of my progress! I'm half way done!) It was almost 10 before I finally got up. I woke up at 5:30 first time as my stomach was in distress! By the time I got back in bed it was almost 6. Didn't fall back to sleep until DH left for work. So I guess I got about 6 hours of sleep last night which is good for me.

DH wanted to go to lunch again today but I had to turn him down again. I think my stomach issues today are due to eating cheeseball AND a Klondike bar last night. Too much dairy for me, I guess! But, sometimes a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do! And then pay for it, LOL! I'll have to be a good girl so we can eat lunch out tomorrow before watching our granddaughter perform a Christmas play at her school. They are expecting so many people that they are performing it during school in the afternoon and then again tomorrow night. And before you ask, I don't know what the name of it is or what it is about, LOL! I just know that I will be taking my good camera.

The gallery is really busy during the Event! I think I've commented on every page up through last night. Everyone is doing amazing work on the challenges! I need to go check out today's challenge/game.

Still not much sun today. I think we are supposed to get more rain. And now that I am thinking about it Linda @LSlycord I probably would not have been able to see the full moon last night because of the cloud cover and fog!

Have a great day!

Good morning ladies. I haven't been on my personal instagram in almost a year. The last post was a photo of Bailey, letting everyone know the search was over, she had been found and had passed away. Every time I opened my IG and saw that I had to close it down. Yesterday I finally took a few IG pics of the dogs and posted them. So I feel ready to get back into that. I guess what got me thinking of doing that was b/c of another photographer I was chatting with on the wkend who asked if I posted my photos on IG, she posts a lot of Kamloops area b/w pics.

Today I have a lot of paperwork to do plus I need to book appts too. Boring but busy day ahead.

@faerywings hope today is a better day. It must have been a frustrating day. The beeping drives me nuts too and especially Taz, he stresses out when there is prolonged beeping from electronics of any type like house alarm, fire alarm, etc. What a stressful tree decorating time. Lights not working properly is such a PITA. BTW, Taz is now wearing his Xmas sweater (snowflakes and a row of elves). He just loves his sweaters :)

@LSlycord What are you reading? I missed our full moon last night with Mars visible behind it. We managed to spend hundreds of dollars again at Costco (we were just there a week ago). I'm staying away for awhile now. It's too easy to spend money there.

@BrightEyes That's a big TV, that's what we have. They will love it.

@vickyday I use libby too for library books. Sorry you are feeling yucky. I know what you mean about the dairy. I get headaches, itchy skin and stomach discomfort if I overdo it but sometimes it is just worth it. I can tolerate small amounts but the problem is I never know how much is too much until I feel the symptoms and then it's a day before I'm feeling ok again.

Time to go get dressed and get on with my day. HAGD everyone.

Thanks! Yes, same here. I can tolerate small amounts and never know how much is too much. I remembered I had a grilled cheese sandwich last night, too, so that didn't help! I've only eaten a few crackers so far today. I will try to eat something a little later and hopefully it will settle OK!

Chris, yesterday was very frustrating for me. I could NOT get anything to stay on "live". Chuck set them all up I know next to nothing about the setup. When he got home, he messed with my TV for about a half hour and he figured it out! It kept asking me for MY password and he had to set it up on HIS. After he got on his computer and did that - Voila! It's worked like a charm ever since. So far, so good and we watched our regular program on the LR TV last night. We stream through Roku (you buy that device and clip it onto your TV) then we bought the Fubo streaming app which has all of the programs we wanted on it. Netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime Video are all stand-alones, so they're not included in Fubo. For that year before we got broadband, we used Roko to get to everything we watched. Chuck got the other two devices on Amazon Black Friday at half price. We've never taken the Roku down off the LR TV. He did all the research while I was gone and picked Fubo because it also has a nice sports package, which he wants, too.

Aren't tree lights the most annoying things? You'd think after all these years that they'd make them easier. While I was in Florida, I bought Stephanie LED Christmas lights - they were pretty cool - they don't look exactly like real lights, but they're really easy to put up. She got a remote with them that changes the colors, she decided she liked the blue ones the best. They're just on one long plastic strand and I just wound them around the tree, starting at the top. They plug into a USB outlet - I used one of the iPhone cubes on hers. We ordered them from Walmart.

Chuck got my TV fixed yesterday - he just needed to go into his computer and add the MB to HIS password - it kept asking for mine and asking if I wanted to try a free trial. DOH - he had already paid for it, so no, I did not want to start a free trial. He got it fixed anyway and I was afraid of it at first, but I played around with it all day and feel pretty confident now. It WILL be nice to not have that cable bill each month.

Vicky, you're the best about commenting in the gallery!! I bow to you. #kiss3
