Hello and good morning, O-Fam!

In spite of everything, I am feeling much better today. My energy levels are better. My mental state- while that is never "good" -- is also better hahaha. All of my plans went whoopsie-daisy. (My spell check refuses to accept any of my spelling but I am pretty sure you know what word I mean LOL). When I posted yesterday, I thought I was cleaning for my friend. Then I realized that he would be coming here to hang with Gary while I was at his house. Gary called him to see if he was okay with that or he he wanted to stay at his house- but then he would still be exposed to me... Gary and I have both tested negative so far but I guess you never really know. However, he was also exposed on Christmas Eve! We are waiting until tomorrow to see how everyone is doing.
My brother feels fine, but my SIL tested positive. Poor Christopher. I think. He might be getting a kick out of having the run of the house :D
My niece and my MIL are both very sick, testing negative, so they think it is the flu.
Tom went back to his house (he was here Sat-Sun and then Mon-Wed) and his entire family has covid so he might come back here if they won't isolate. They refused to do that in the past.
What a mess.
I am so grateful that I got both vaccines this fall. Maybe I can come out of this unscathed. :praying2:

We were supposed to take J to her PT session this morning but the roads are flooded again. Between that and all of the illnesses, we rescheduled for next week.

At least my scratchy throat is gone. I am all showered and dressed and have nowhere to go. I think I am going to put sweats on and finish tidying the house. I can't do laundry again because the yard/basement/septic are flooded too. I should clean my desk area so I can start the new year organized. Maybe. I hope.

On a good note, I finally had a chance to scrap:

I still cannot get over my son dressing up as Santa. Or having a niece and nephew :D

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy day!

You'll be proud of me. I was a Big Girl and took my abx yesterday. I downloaded a Symptom Tracker app and will go from there. The abx is expired so I have no idea how potent it still is but I have to wait until the new year for my Deductible to reset. Man, I love insurance /s

@vickyday I didn't have a PJ day, but I did have my fleecy sweats on. How was yours? LOL- it doesn't surprise me in the least that Mark will always have something else to fix or add to the cabin. He is like the Winchester House!
Hope that the headaches went away quickly.

@Su_Sanne Skylands Sanctuary is such an amazing place. The owner, Mike, rescues all sorts of animals from bad situations. Anytime an animal escapes from a slaughterhouse, he is on it. And that happens more often than you think! The Sanctuary has pigs, cows, goats, waterfowl, horses, sheep- anything that needs a safe place to live. They used to have tours and you could spend time with the animals

BLERG!
Can you all send my parents some healthy vibes? Just got off the phone with my brother and then my dad. My dad tested positive yesterday and my mom isn't feeling great. She gets severe nosebleeds and really doesn't like anything touching her nose so it's gonna be a struggle to get her to test. But if she has it, she has to get on Paxlovid ASAP.
What a mess!

Cait's testing right now- so far so good for her with a few minutes left to go.
OK: Negative. Whew!
My other SIL has the flu, like her DD and our MIL.

@Su_Sanne There is no such thing as too many dog photos. :dancingdog:

@Cherylndesigns you need to a put warning label on the milk jug!
That keyboard thread is hysterical. Gotta say, @joyfulheartdesigns worries me a little. :hiding2::killer:
I have used the flashlight on my phone to look for the contacts but it doesn't help. I usually have to call Gary in.
I don't think I would enjoy Iceland. At any time of year. ;)
I hope that Chuck feels better soon- I think if he could get out and about, he might feel more like himself. It has to be so hard to be confined.

@BrightEyes The moon must have been beautiful!
I hope that one day you can see your sister perform live. It has to be impressive! So happy that your grands shared photos so you could be with them in spirit for the holidays! Stay warm.

@taxed4ever Your Christmas sounds fun and full of love.
Hope that Mason is feeling better too. I want everyone to wear bubble suits right about now.
Thinking of you and your Gary as the surgery gets closer. My dad had the same surgery either right before or right after his shoulder replacement and it was not as bad as that one.

@bcgal00 I saw the sunrise photo on FB and what a stunning view! How fun to be shopping for some decor. Hope the furniture gets to you soon.

Vicky- Fab to hear that your headache went away, the wall looks wonderful!

I am two hours behind schedule (I like to be off the computer by 8 am. Not even close!)

Hugs!

Morning, all. It is another cold morning - 22*F. Should get into the mid-40's late this afternoon. Yesterday I managed to get to the library, post office. Stopped at Sam's and got hearing aid batteries... but the $20 bonus for re-joining the club had not made it into my account - so will wait to get the new pillows until it does. Then stopped at Barnes & Noble and ordered "Crowbones" by Anne Bishop. Looked for it on-line at used bookstores but by the time I paid for shipping it would cost more than ordering a new softback!!! That is the last of "The Other" series and the only one I was missing. Should be here by next week. Ended up coming home then as the stamina was almost gone and the wind was picking up. Brrrr!! :brrr: :brrr: :brrr: Didn't get to the grocery store so that is on the "to do" list.

Oh, Chris @faerywings .... so sorry to hear about more of the family coming down with Covid. Sure hope Tom doesn't get it, too.
Wow... even your friend's family getting it. Yep.. good thing to wait a few days before cleaning for him. Smart of you to download the Abx apt to chart any symptoms and getting started on the meds. Hope the side-effects of it are few. Oh, I love both of the LOs! Scott looks wonderful as Santa with the kids. And Cait is so beautiful. Yes, it is starling to see and realize that your kids are so grown-up... just wait until they are married and have families of their own!!

YIKES!!! Your Dad has Covid... and probably your Mom!!! Oh, NO!!! Glad that Cait's test was negative. Sounds like others also have it. Sending healing thoughts for all of them.

@vickyday - I love the Americana wall! Thanks for sharing it with us. Cute photo of Mark's back as he worked on it.

@bcgal00 I saw the FB photos of your kitchen view and outside ones... no wonder you are so happy there!! I can just imagine how those new placemats look on that cozy table.

@joyfulheartdesigns :wow2: goofysmile1:lol23::floorlaugh: Oh, yes... we all need to invest in clear shower liners!

@Cherylndesigns I keep going back to the keyboard thread and LOL over it!! Thanks so the chuckles! I agree... you should be put a warning label on the milk carton so you don't pour it on Chuck's cereal!! :D

Off to get my shower now that the house is warm enough. HAGD

Morning ladies... its another rainy day here, but at least its not snowing!! Temps are still very mild for the end of December! I wonder if we will get out winter in January?? Had a pretty uneventful day yesterday and mostly just vegetated on the couch, seems Christmas Chaos caught up with me and I needed to get in a nap and do nothing much of anything. I did get some of my craft room organized, but other than that it was a very lazy day for me. I tried to start a layout, but could not get into it, so perhaps today will be better?? I am going for a pedicure with SIL Linda tomorrow so that is my excitement for the week.

@faerywings - Keeping my fingers crossed that you and your Gary and your kids do not get Covid!! That is horrible that your Dad and most likely your Mom have it! I hope that you can get your Mom on the Paxlovid if she does test positive!! What a crappy way to end this year, seems everyone is getting sick! Love your page with your Scott all dressed as Santa!! How fun! Stay healthy my friend :hug2:.

@joyfulheartdesigns - You are really starting to worry me with your shower curtains and zip ties LOL:wardrobehide::hiding1::notinfrontofthekids:. But seriously I hope you are able to get your car fixed soon!!

@BrightEyes - I woke up at 3am to use the washroom and I thought the light had been left on, it was the moon shining bright through the skylight. Hope you get to the grocery store today, I need to make a stop there soon too. Almost out of creamer and like you I can't live without my creamer!!

Waving Hello :wavinghello:to all those that pop in here today, I hope that you all have a lovely (what day is it today??). Oh ya Thursday!! Wishing we were all on the beach today!!

Good morning ladies. Heading out in a bit to apply for our Alberta drivers license. Today our couch and credenza were supposed to come but we got no message from the store so I suspect it will come next Thurs (they come to our area every Thurs).

We have some raised planter boxes in the yard and I am going to try my hand at growing herbs. I've got lots of time to research and figure out what to plant and how to care for them.

For those that like sci-fi/fantasy series, try Shadow & Bone (Netflix). We are almost finished binging season 2 and enjoying it.

@faerywings So many are sick this fall/winter, covid or flu. I can't believe I still have symptoms, almost 2 months now.

@BrightEyes I looked up the book series and just got book 1 (Lake Silence). From what I saw, there are 3 in the series, right?

Time to hop in the shower, get dressed and get on with my day. HAGD everyone.

Good morning my LoVeS,

It's a balmy 35 degrees here. :brrr::brrr: Going to warm up by the weekend, though. 50 I can take. Steph called yesterday (milk IN cereal) to show me pictures of the big fat flakes in Missouri. Keep it on that side of the state line, please. Kay @BrightEyesI really should put some kind of a warning label on the milk carton. Or just a big sticker. LOL. I'm like you, I keep going back to that keyboard thread. I'm so glad my cat clawed on my "C" and I started it. :floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

Chris @faerywings I'm with you on Jenn @joyfulheartdesigns - clear plastic shower liners? :floorlaugh::floorlaugh: Go look at what Trudy @taxed4ever just posted in that thread. It's hilarious. Everybody is loving that and it just gets funnier and funner.

Oh boy, Chris @faerywings what a mess with everybody falling with covid/flu/etc. Another Christmas ruined with this *!#%^*&! I cleaned that up, didn't I? Glad you're testing negative so far and Cait, too. Good call on not cleaning today. Chuck just doesn't feel like going anywhere. He has to lug a portable oxygen tank with him, for one thing. They're pretty heavy, even though he has a "sling" to carry it in. They initially brought 6 of them. Steph was here when he used one of them to go to Thanksgiving dinner for about an hour. She knows how to operate them. Chuck does too, but I'm terrified of them. He's on oxygen 24/7 now. The other thing is that he doesn't eat much as you know. He has his cereal in the morning, and a Boost and a snack mid-day, then his smoothie (with another Boost in it) around 5 o'clock. That tastes better to him than anything. Adrienne, Roger and Braden brought dinner here for all of us last night. He didn't eat a thing, but he did come and visit with them. When he's here, he has a unit that looks like a suitcase that his oxygen comes from and he has a real long hose so that he can move around without having to move the unit, if that makes sense. The nurse comes tomorrow, which I always look forward to.

Good luck starting your medication.

Hugs and love to all - I LOVE both of your layouts, Chris and will leave love in the gallery. Thanks for sharing them with us.

:hug4::grouphugyay: XOXO

Actually, Lake Silence is the #1 in The World of the Others... but actually is#6 in the series.
Here is The Other Series in order: 1) Written in Red, 2) Murder of Crows, 3) Vision in Silver, 4) Marked in Flesh, 5) Etched in Bone,
6) Lake Silence, 7) Wild Country, and 8) Crowbones.
It is best to read 1 to 5 in order as it is a continuation of the story/characters through all of them. Lake Silence, Wild Country and Crowbones have the same characters in them... but they do mention characters from the earlier 1-5 books.

I'm going to check out Shadow and Bones. Thanks for mentioning it.

No pj day for me yesterday, either. After my headache went away we went to COSTCO and then stopped for a late lunch/early supper. And a couple of hours after that we went to church.

Good Evening!
I left pretty early today to try to find dirty Santa gifts at Kohl's for our get together in January.....nothing found!
Went to Walmart, found something, rang one up at the self-checkout. 12 more dollars than the shelf tag said. That just totally aggravates me! So I put them back on the shelf and left the store! Get your act together Wally!
Came home and have been binging on Tracy Fox YouTube all afternoon!
Ilene called me after getting home today and she is really sick! She was going to get tested for covid. RSV has been going around her family along with covid. And guess where she was all weekend?! So, I guess I won't be seeing her for awhile!
I've lost my scrapping mojo. Plus I need to start making plans for our family get together in 2 weeks, so I'm probably going to be basically Mia for a couple of weeks.
HAGEvening!
