good morning! It's really early here, ugh! Piper has a school show today at 10:00, and I had to take the day off... so I thought I'd pop in and say hi, but since the ooo's hadn't been started thought I would... hopefully after this week, I'll get to be regular again LOL.

Tomorrow is the last day of school for the kids... Will's been having trouble again, but that's a really long story so he's back to the doctor tomorrow... hopefully we're close to getting him straightened out again...

Hope everyone is doing great, and I'll pop back in as soon as I can... love ya all!

Good morning!

Hi Sandra- so good to see you here, starting us off with love! Yay!
Tell Piper to break a leg- I am sure she is going to be great!
Sorry to hear about Will. I wishI had answers, but I do have a sympathetic ear, if you ever need it.

Have to get coffee- this time I think I am going to brew up a huge pot for all of us.

Hello everybody and goood morning! The rest of this week is going to be crazy crazy. I was so worked up the first half of the week that I have neglected my school work, and now I have lots to do before my son gets here on Sunday! YAY!!!!

Thanks for all of your good thoughts and prayers yesterday. The doctor's appointment went really well! Of course, following the pattern of showing no symptoms when you get to the doctor's office, Genny was the sweetest, most social, compliant being in the universe when we were in the doctor's office. Of course she DID climb all over all of the furniture, and she wouldn't stop playing with the faucets. "I wash da hand!" But get this:
The doctor LISTENED to me, took note of my concerns- like actual notes! and she ordered a battery of tests. Full chromosome profile, cat scans, everything. She's going to look at lead levels/possible heavy metal contamination, any complications that may have come from my being dangerously anemic during much of the pregnancy, just.. everything. She said she'd get me a diagnosis. She was sincere, concerned, and really listened to me. I could not have asked for anything more.

Also, while waiting for the appointment, I got a call from my bank. Nobody wants that, I was all set to hear that Vince's card had been stolen in Afghanistan or some such, but instead I was just told to come down to the main branch at my convenience because we'd won a "days of December" contest. One of those random things that award people gifts for a random swipe of the card. Not much, $50, but hey, that's awesome! It'll more than fill up the tank of the car I'm giving Quinn, anyway! Yippee!

Hi, Sandra! Atha's pageant is today too. They are dressing in grey because they are doing a mouse song, and then will be singing Jingle Bells, and a Hanukkah song as well. Then we are sticking around for ice cream. On this day of all days, I have SO much homework, I'd love to have time to do it, but hey. Preschool Christmas pageants don't happen every day!

Hi Chris! Thanks for the coffee! I saw today on Facebook that a lot of my old friends have given up coffee in favor of green tea or whatever and I was like, God help me if I ever feel the need to restrict my diet so much that I am called upon to give up coffee. Come on now.

Alright, I need to skeedaddle. Have great days, everybody!!!

Hi all!!

I'm a little nervous today. I get the old ta-tas squished beyond recognition this afternoon, and I always get a bit nervous about that. Not the squishing part itself (though I do not love that experience either), but the results since breast cancer runs in my family on my mom's side. Wish me luck!

Andrea - sounds like you actually had a pretty good day yesterday! So glad you found a doctor who listened and was genuinely concerned.

Good luck to both kids (Piper and Atha) in their respective pageants/shows!

Hey ladies!

Today has been a pretty good day. I got a vanilla chai latte, which always makes for a good day. I took an x-ray of a little girl who put a bead in her nose. That was big fun. Last night I jokingly yelled at our head doctor that owns the clinic. We have this patient who is a royal pain and I have made it my mission to make her get along with me after a couple of x-rays of her going back upstairs saying "that x-ray tech." So I am always nice to her without sucking up to her. I take a picture of her pelvis. She has a fractured pelvis that she refuses surgery on. It is a type of fracture that is painful but doesn't necessarily require surgery on, but could certainly use it. So yesterday he sends her cranky self down for a long drawn out set of x-rays one series that I never do and therefore had to call the ospital for and then look up to make sure I was doing right and took longer to do, to make sure I was doing them right. But I just kept up my banter (that's how I keep it light with my patients generally) and chattiness and stayed consistant and kept blaming the doctor for my having to pick on her. Then I went up and yelled at him. I told him how hard I worked to get on her good side and he just went and almost threw it all out the window. It isn't like the x-rays mattered what treatment was she going to get? Ugh!! But she didn't hate me at the end so it all worked out. I was mad at the tech I called at the hospital too. he totally told me the wrong instructions for the exam too. Dork.

So, today I have a killer headache. I believe it is a sinus headache and it is kicking my butt. The worst part is that I have to go see Ethan at school today which I am really excited about because his school stuff never happens during times I am available to go but today it does. Right during lunch. they earned points to have a "read-in" where they get to get all snuggled in and read and parents can come in and read with them. he packed a pillow, a blanket, giant stuffed animal and a Christmas Pooh book. he had his dad wake him up early just to get ready. It was pretty cute. But I have this headache, so I hope it starts going away soon so I can deal. Cross your fingers for me.

So, little rant. So, remember that boy I watched a couple times this year - Cristian? Well, his mom is in Iraq and he is staying with his dad. Well, the step mom is a bit of a well...you know. Well, because of that his mom plays games to make it worse. She sends him packages and won't put his hyphenated last name on the boxes so step-mom will send them back and stuff. So mom decided to send his boxes for Christmas to my house. Then she ask-told me. So now I have two Christmas boxes for him at my house. That doesn't put me in the middle or anything. I referred her to her counselor that her son goes to. She's a friend of mine. She doesn't talk to me about them or anything but I kindof mentioned the situation to her and she said I could give her the boxes and then they could be opened in her office. Cristian's dad doesn't live close to me and it is the holiday season is busy so it isn't exactly convenient. Plus I don't want to be in the middle. Very annoying.

Okay...gots to go to the read in. I'll come back to do personals.

Clara- you have the patience of a saint! I bet you are so amazing at your job- I like it when the techs take the tim eto talk- even if they ask the same question to every patient, it always feels better when they seem me or my family a sa person. You rock!
Hope that your headache went away. How was EThan's read-in? What a cute idea!
Sorry to hear that you got dragged into the Cristian thing again. But you handled it well.

To everyone who comes in here today- I have hot cocoa, coffee and lots of yummy donuts for everyone!!
xooxoxoxo
