O-Fam: Time to check in-- How are you all holding up? Everyone feeling ok, getting through the day?
If not, don't forget to take some deep breaths and tell yourself you got this.
You do-- You got this!

(says that to myself as well)

I am so happy- the baskets are coming along and look pretty darn good. I got the lips balms all labeled. I put all of the products on the table in the groups by who was getting what. Took the baskets and containers out of the attic and started to arrange everything. The next step is the one I curse during the most. I'll get the crinkly paper and cellophane and ribbons and make it look pretty. The reason why I curse is that until everything is set "just so," any movement makes all of the products fall like dominos.
The best part of the day is that I wrapped up the big gift from Santa to Gary, Scott, and Cait. I have a photo to share but I have to wait until no one is around ;)
I hope that they like it-

I had two minor bummers- the Visa Gift cards charge a $4 activation fee. What a rip-off. I decided to switch to Amazon for my nieces. Now I have to find where I can get them in town since the supermarket didn't sell them. I also stopped in the new bakery to see if they made vegan cupcakes. She does but you have to buy a min of a dozen. pfft. I want to add something more personal to Tom's gift but I can't think of anything and I know he loves vegan desserts.

I am cleaning this morning and will maybe finish the baskets this afternoon? Or I will do some shopping in town? I still need a few more things. (yes, I will say that until Dec 24th, 9 pm)
(and yes, I said that in Mark Cohen's voice from Rent haha!)

Wishing everyone a fantastic day.

You got this!!

I know it is really bad lighting/quality but wanted to give you an idea of what I had been yammering on about.
The coffin is about 20" long and I spray-painted that and clear-coated it so it should hold up ok when it sits on the table we use for the liquor bottles. There are coasters with a Jackie Daytona quote (from What We Do in the Shadows TV show-- our favorite-- which is about vampires). Napkins/plates/cups with the skulls, a skull bottle stopper, swizzles sticks. The party picks say Boo. The Spooky Bartender guide is 10 spooky cocktail recipes that I scrapped.

@LSlycord How lovely to have such warm temps. It has to feel so strange to be warm in December though. No white Christmases for you anymore.
Did you and Syd get to bake? Cait and I have next Tuesday scheduled for our big all-day baking. I can't do that without her. Especially if the butter needs to get softened (she has put the sticks of butter in her waistband if they need some extra softening LOL). I hope the mat came early enough to make a difference for your feet.
hahahaha!!! I am LMBO that Syd says that you talk too much. I get excited when I am around a few people and will end up talking too much too.

@tanteva is there an Ingmar Bergman movie that I would recognize?
Woot!! Good job on getting all of the letters done! Good luck at work and with the booster if we don't; see you before then

@bcgal00 I am pretty much where you are at with the holiday prep. It always comes together in time. (whispers to myself again --you got this).
Remi is so cute!!!!!!! You have to scrap that story, I wonder what she didn't like about the bottle of Gain! So funny!!
J growls like that when she sees her reflection but I don't think she has growled at laundry detergent LOL

@Cherylndesigns How are you feeling today? The not feeling well only last ted one day after my booster, mostly just tired and "off." The next day I was back to normal so I hope that you are the same way.
Good luck to your plants, may their roots be strong! Bet the jars look adorable!

@BrightEyes I am hoping that I will have time to catch up on the challenges this weekend, as well as leaving love-- I am so far behind with that. What I have seen of the Gallery is jaw-dropping.
You got so much done running around with the errands, is the foot any better today?
People drive like maniacs this time of year. Glad you didn't get hit.
Oh no-- with G-GDD's quarantine be in place for Christmas? I hope she stays healthy too

It's time for me to get some b-fast anf head out to work. Hugs!!

(yes, I will say that until Dec 24th, 9 pm)

Then you can claim you're Swedish, cuz Christmas is over by then & all that's left to do is to sink into the sofa with a mug of mulled wine! Lol

Not sure which of Ingmar Bergman's movies are well-known abroad, and not their English names. But I guess it's called The Seventh Seal or something? I guess that's his best known movie. Max von Sydow's character is playing chess with Death. Cheerful. Lol

Lunch at work. A little over 3 more hours to work. Then I work 9.45 til 6 tomorrow. Ater that CHRISTMAS BEGINS!

Good morning lOvely ladies. I started my Christmas shopping yesterday. Did I just relieve some stress from all of you? Ecause everyone is ahead of me!

It just doesn’t feel like Christmas. Syd was complaining about that. While we like the weather, we are used to cold temps and having at least seen snow. Maybe next year we will go north.

We did bake yesterday. We managed to get Russian Tea Cakes made which is good. And we argued and laughed and had a great time. Then Syd decided that we should do a little more to organize the pantry so we took on the spice shelf. I have a lot of spices! Maybe I should say I have A LOT of spices. We now have a basket of onion and garlic flavored spices, a basket of cinnamon type spices, a basket of rubs, plus two shelves of random spices.

We also watched the Jungle Cruise which we hadn’t seen. So yesterday was a very good day. Off to fill up the coffee cup and then a few personals.

Morning O's... dragging the body around this AM... looks like it might be a 3 cups of coffee day for me. This should be laundry and change sheets day if I can work up the energy to do all that. Got the towels in to wash a few minutes ago as I know I am labile to forget once I get on the computer. Good thing about the office is right next door to the laundry room so I can hear the washer/dryer, Tomorrow is a stay at home while waiting for 2 deliveries day. Got the notice that the printer is on its way via UPS so want to be here when it arrives. There are thieves that follow the trucks around and grab the packages as soon as the truck leaves. I can track it so know when it arrives.

Chris, I love the gift for the family... what HOOT!!! Perfect for your theme nights and also to sit out on the bar table. You did a fantastic job on it. I am blown away with all the gifts you have made. I would have melted into a puddle if I had done all those.

Linda, I understand that it doesn't feel like Christmas when the weather is still so warm. DH and I felt the same when we lived in Florida and in Corpus Christi and had the A/C running on Christmas day! I am sure you will adapt to it. Good luck on your baking day. Those tea cakes sound delicious.

Eve, hope you don't get too tired from working. I liked your description of Bergman's films.... I saw a preview of one of them years ago and said it was too dark and depressing so had no desire to see the whole thing.

Cheryl, hope you are feeling better today. <<< hugs >>> I have decided to wait until after Christmas to get my 2nd Shingles shot. No point in feeling bad over the holiday.

Off to check on the 12 Day Challenge then see if I have the energy to sort the laundry. CYL

Good morning ladies. Just popping in for a quick hello and will come back later. I've got lots of desk work to do so want to get started on that right away and then pop out at lunchtime for a few errands. I need to come back and check the gallery too, each time I pop in there I am thrilled with all the challenge pages there, everyone has been having so much fun!

Good afternoon all.

Feeling a bit better today. I was just "off" yesterday, too, Chris @faerywings . I had a lot of pain in my arm the first day but that's gone. My youngest DD is an MA and she said that wasn't abnormal. She said it might have gone in the muscle. She knows how to give shots. LOL She's always said that doctors, etc. don't know how. The MA's do. They can do it in their sleep. A pharmacist gave us ours.

Your gift basket is adorable!! So, Visa wanted an activation fee??? What will they think of next? It's always something for the consumer. Grrrrrrrrr

Kay @BrightEyes I should have waited until after Christmas, but we have people coming in from all over and I wanted to be fully vaxxed (if there is ever going to be such a thing) before that. I don't know who I'll be around or what they might be carrying, so best to be prepared. People really aren't very careful - I found out that somebody I was around tested positive for covid later that evening and their son (Alyssa's bf) had it, too. My immune system must be working overtime. I'm convinced that getting flu shots religiously helps. Braden came down for dinner earlier this week, then found out the next day he had strep throat.

Linda, @LSlycord the Russian Tea Cakes sound yummy. Are they anything like Mexican Wedding Cakes? I'm sure they're amazing. I hate to tell you, but all the years we lived in Florida, it NEVER seemed like Christmas. NEVER. We used to spend our holidays on Sanibel (years ago) - I did a LO for the journaling challenge. Sanibel is magical at Christmas time, but it still never seemed like Christmas. I really never got over feeling like I was on vacation all the years we lived there, either. LOL That must have been why I wasn't very productive there. Hahaha

Well, I'm going to go check out the gallery. I didn't get as much done either and feel badly that I wasn't more active. The last few days have been hard and I've barely felt like doing anything that I didn't absolutely have to do.

Happy Thursday everybody.

@faerywings and @tanteva Sometimes I get old movies from the library and recently DH asked me to get The Seventh Seal as I hadn't seen it back when. It is dark and strange but actually good at the same time.

And, Chris, the gift looks fabulous!!! They will love it and be amazed you could create it in secret.

Everyone's baking would make me jealous but yesterday I bought a package of Christmas cookies from a wonderful local bakery.

Best description I've ever heard of Seventh Seal! That's exactly how it is. I like me a Bergman movie from time to time, but you really have to be in the right mood. Urban LOVES them. He even got the complete box set of his movies last year. They're really special, his movies.
