Best laid plans... pfft. I laugh in the face of best laid plans. I think that this is the reason why I can't get organized. Life and weather conspire against me. I went to bed with most of my day planned out. I was going to drive down the highway, hitting some stores down. Then on my way back up, I was going to cut across into the next county and do some more shopping, drop off license plates at DMV (did I tell you that we finally sold the VUE? $500!!) and then head home.

I woke up in a panic (yet again, Grrrr!) at 4 am, thought more about my plans, refined my shopping list in my head, and got out of bed at 4.30. Then, what to my wondering eyes should appear-- a weather forecast of snow on my homepage! It won't be a lot of snow, but it is supposed to be on and off all day. 1-3". Again, not a lot but enough to make the mountain roads by me messy. So my shopping plans- tossing them out the window. I will have to head out tomorrow instead.

I was going to start baking tomorrow since the kids will be at school all day and not bugging me in my tiny kitchen. But I am going to do some baking today and hopefully finish up three of the craft projects I am working on. I am not thrilled with how they are coming out but... that isn't anything new. Well, I like the one for Arlene so far. I painted an old Yankee candle jar with beige chalk paint, clear coated that. Then I put the branches into it and filled that with the crack sealer foam. I printed out some tiny photos of our families (Ack- I have to find one of Leah's dad! I think I have one on my computer from when she was little. If not I will have to stalk her FB page) Today I am going to attach the photos to tiny clothespins that I bought and will hang them from the "tree." I will take a picture when it is all done.

And UGH! I have to work on the kids' financial aid forms. Two days already and what issues I have had- logins, passwords, unable to connect to the IRS. Then my account got locked. :frusty: oooh, I think I gave myself a huge headache in that little rant. :suspicious:

So that is my little bit of insanity... happy Thursday!?!
Lots of love to all of you! xoxo

Nancy- is the pool near you? I would get so aggravated when I had to go for radiation therapy- 40 mins down, changing/waiting, a 10 minutes treatment, and 40 mins back home. Totally killed my day. But if the aqua therapy is helping, it is a good thing. PITA, but good.
That is so strange about your car acting up. No, you should not need to get a new one with only 36K miles. Thank goodness that your DS is helping out with it.
Thanks, for the gifts ideas-My dad is on a very strict low-sodium diet and the loves my rice pudding and the homemade pickles I made over the summer. For him, I am going to put together a small basket of low salt foods I make. I can't do that until late next week/Christmas Eve. I will just have to make something photo related for my mom.

Felis- how was your sister's trip? It is nice to live vicariously through someone else's travels, even if it hurts a bit when you aren't able to go. Been there, done that.
How cute to be able to dress up Tiny!! That would cheer me up completely! Did you get a photo??
Your gift ideas were spot on-- I got Gary a T-shirt and Scott a keychain! LOL

Kay- it stinks being up so early! I know you can relate... Are you sure that radiating pain is just your shoulder?? Don't ignore it especially if you get dizzy or nauseous. I saw on Twitter a viral post the other day about women's heart attack symptoms. be careful!! Hugs!
How did you feel about PSE19? Is it worth it? I have PS CS5 and am terrified that if/when it becomes incompatible I am going to be out of luck. PSE might be my only option since CC is 120% out of the question.
have fun scrapping!

Trudy- Good for you for going on the hike. You know me, I become a carb-craving slug this time of year. If it ever gets over 45*, I will try to take W for some walks, but the weather there has been unseasonably cold since November. Hugs to you when you miss your Mr. Abu~~~ When we unpacked the stockings the other day, it was weird to see the one that said "The Cats" since we now only have Floyd. Kibs was a cuddler/smotherer...
My dad always gives my mom a F-W's basket which I also need to work on.
The Bob Marley vinyl would have been a hit for Scott too--so glad that DS liked it and the video too.

Rae- that stinks that your workload is harder now, but in a couple of weeks you will get a bit of a breather. Yes, it is wonderful for you to be able to work at home.
My stomach is in knots over the meeting with the faciilty so I cannot even begin to fathom what you and Jen are going through. I feel like a broken record, but all of my good thoughts are coming your way for a safe and helpful treatment plan for B.
OMG-- you still have all of the best HOHH episodes coming up!!! OMG-- you are going to die!!!

Stacey- how did the first night with Dory go?? We were kind of nervous when we fostered Whisky- maybe because she didn't belong to us? It is a different ballgame going from an older, trained dog to one that you don't know.

Kay-- whew. I am glad that the massage/lotion helped your shoulder, I was worried. I don't blame you for not wanting that surgery. My dad needs that one done too but he is being stubborn. After his hip replacement, he doesn't want to deal with it.

Jean- the group meeting must have been very fun and festive. That is fantastic about scrapping so much. I did one page, that was it...

Ok, you asked for it, you will be getting lots and lots of stories about the new babies. :D OMG they are so cute!!
Titania has cream fur-- and ruby eyes. Apparently, that color is rare for eyes. They look black but when the light catches them, you can see the deep red underneath. Not the pink like Muffin and Clove- but deep red/black. She is gorgeous! She is also the more mellow one, Cordelia- I am calling her Cordelia the Curious. She is going to be the handful. Olivia is a blend of the other two. It will be interesting to see if that changes over time.

Guess I should get this posted and start my day.

xoxo

Up early again but this time it was due to the noises of the wind howling all night. Must have woke up at least 5 times last night. Waiting until daylight before I check the backyard to see what has blown around there. I have the cover for the swing stored behind a large folded table right by my bedroom windows - and it was rattling all night. We took the cover off last year when the wind caught it and blew the swing over and scooted it halfway across the patio. I need to roll the trash bins out for pickup today but will wait until a bit later.

Lost my internet yesterday so worked on the last LO for the 12 Days event while it was down. That was my last one to complete all the challenges. It has been fun... the gallery is full of delightful pages!

Chris, I knew the shoulder pain was due to a tight muscle - not a heart attack. Yes, I know that shoulder and jaw pain could indicate a heart attack. I would have called 911 if I even suspected it was a heart attack! The shoulder muscle is still tight this morning but is improved over yesterday. Decided to spend another day in the pjs. DD is going to come over and rub the 'magic' liquid into the area this morning.

Don't blame you for changing your plans with snow in the forecast. I wouldn't want to be out in snowy weather. Hope you can get all your other things worked on instead. Sounds like you are having fun with the rat babies.

I have only worked on one LO with PSE2019... but realized that I don't have several of my actions loaded into it. I did get my favorite shadows styles loaded. Couldn't locate my web-sizer action so saved the PSD then switched back to PSE15 to get the jpeg done. I really need to look at what actions I have on PSE15, locate them on my computer and load them into PSE2019. Had to laugh... 2019 opened on a screen that didn't look familiar and couldn't figure out where the layers panel was or how to get it back. Finally realized that it was on 'Quick' instead of 'Expert' screen! Geeze!! The brain was't working well that it took me a few minutes to figure it out. Guess I should wait until the brain is less 'fuzzy'... but that might take longer than the 30 day trail I have for it! ! ! :eek:hwell:

Morning ladies... I was awake and out of bed at 4:30 this morning. You would have thought that I would have slept like the dead after the 10K hike I did yesterday, but noooo!! :mmph: Instead of getting on the computer though, I decided to read more of the book that I started "The Glass Castle" it is a good book, however I find it a bit depressing as it is along the same kind of story line as the Grapes of Wrath, everyone is so poor and dysfunctional. MIL was very affected by the book and loved it, I am still on the fence about it. Yesterday's hike was very nice and it was good to be out and socialize with the group again, however it started to pour rain shortly after we got underway and thank goodness I packed my rainproof gear or I would have been soaked. As it was I was happy to be home and hop in the tub with some epsom salts, I was chilled to the bone the kind of cold that goes deep into your body and only a hot bath will warm you up! So after soaking for about an hour I just did not have the time to get back here and do anything in the way of scrapping or catching up. :mmph: there just are not enough hours in the day!

Chris - Sorry that the snow has ruined your plans for the day and after all the sleep that you lost putting together your list of things to do together. :mmph: So much for your best laid plans!! Glad that you are enjoying your time with the rat babies!! We will never tire of hearing your stories about them so don't worry! Baking today sounds like a good idea, I think that I will make some shortbread cookies today also. Glad that you found some gifts for the boys Hooray!! Hopefully something wonderful will come up as an idea for a gift for your Mother! I am sure your craft projects will turn out awesome! We are our own worst critics!! Good luck with the kids financial aid forms, it doesn't sound like it will be much fun. Try to enjoy the day and soon your house will be filled with the wonderful smells of baking!

Kay - That is too bad that the wind etc kept you awake half the night! Hope your internet does not go out on you again today! Nice that you were able to work with your new Photoshop program, hopefully you get it all figured out before the end of your free trial! Good on you for getting all the challenges done here for the 12 Days! I am so far behind, so good thing we have until the end of the month to try to complete them all! Hope the massage from your DD makes you feel much better!

Rae - That is too bad that the work schedule is still so heavy for you! It probably is worth it for the extra $$'s and you are very lucky that you can be at home to work and not fight the horrible traffic everyday! We often watch the news from Vancouver and can't imagine having to do that commute to work everyday with the bumper to bumper traffic! You must be feeling frantic about what will happen to B in the near future, hopefully they will decide that she needs more therapy and is not ready for you to bring her home yet! She seems to be from what you tell us, much happier where she is! Nice to have your haircut, bet it feels good to have that done! Yay for getting the flu shot today, remember to relax your arm, it really helps to stop that ache in your arm the next day!

Zanthia - How did your first night with Dory go? We are all anxious to hear about your new baby!!

Jean - Your genealogy group sounds like it was fun yesterday! How nice to have one member in the Christmas Spirit with his blinking hat! how interesting that two people found some relative in common! Nice that you have enjoyed the 12 Days and that you will have completed all the Challenges! Keep your fingers crossed for the big win at the end of the month!

:hello: Nancy!! Hope you are getting your therapy at the pool today!

Ok I need to get my next page completed today and later this morning my sister is coming by to drop off some eggs for me. Hopefully she will stay for a cup of tea or something so perhaps I should get that shortbread made so she can have a cookie or two also. Hopefully I don't fall asleep on her while she is here :becky: A nap might be in order this afternoon! Have a great Thursday everyone!

Good morning, ladies. Getting some laundry and chores done in between working (swamped with work but what else is new LOL). Have to pop out for my flu shot at lunchtime and grab my prescription (antibiotics for 8 days...ugh...they always make me feel nauseous) but at least I'll finish up before Xmas. Will be cooking up numerous batches of meatloaf and meatballs later. Its going to be a busy day.

I'll come back later to read personals. Just wanted to pop in and say good morning.

Just a quick Hi as I'm "attending" a live webinar in 15 minutes. It's on maps in genealogy which I think I should see as I'm talking about maps, from a slightly different angle, at my computer genealogy group in January.

Hugs to all.

hi all

dory is here. first night went fine - she slept in our bed but she has not been eating much. There has been a lot more barking and whining than i expected. perhaps its just an adjustment to a new place

One thing i was surprised about as a slumbr party dog, i cant take her anywhere - no pet stores, dog parks ,etc. They want you to avoid other people and dogs as much as possible. A regular park is ok if its not crowded which is what we will do over the weekend.
