CHEERY O
Yay!! My baby girl is back home, and while she looks miserable and ridiculous at the same time, I am happy she is good. ♥
Gary got the call around 11 am that she was done and would be ready for pickup around 2 pm. I finished cleaning for my friend, got in the shower, grabbed a quick bite to eat, and then went back down to the vet. Gary was joking that he drove more in those two days than he had in a really long time.

I almost didn't get a shower, the furnace is acting up again, and the hot water stopped flowing. *knocking on wood that the furnace keeps on chugging along at least until I get the darned vet bills paid off*

It was also a good thing that we picked up Jaida earlier than we expected. It started to rain as we were heading home. As we got closer to home, it mixed with some snow and was fully snowing by the time we got into town. Jaida has to be on a leash for pottying and 3 walks a day to rebuild some of the muscle and bone. You already know how I feel about that :couchhide: The utter horror of bundling up at 5 am with snow flurries whipping around my face today .... :cold: :bawling:

I still didn't have a chance to do any scrapping or games yesterday and never made it to the Gallery. I hope that I can get some time for that today but I dunno. It's another crazy one. I have to finish all of the prep for tomorrow and make another batch of the seed paper. The clay pots should be delivered tomorrow, and I found a cute family/grow/roots quote to paint on them. I have another batch of cookies that I want to bake today, too. And I desperately need to squeeze in some yoga. All of the stress is killing my back, which is in full-on spasm.

Please ignore the rambling, disconnected nature of this post. Believe me that it is clearer than what's happening in my head!

I have the links for today here:

Day 11 - Kick out 2025 | GAME

Hugs to you all!

Give yourself some slack, sista! You ARE working now, remember?! What's the worst that can happen if you don't get everything done you "expect" you want to get done?? Relax and enjoy the season! :heartpumplove:
I guess the worst that can happen is that I give all of my gifts unwrapped/in Amazon boxes LOL!
You had a busy day yesterday and I hope that waking up at 4.30 didn't mean you pooped out early.

I love the beaver dam diaorama...that is so awesome. That must have taken some time but it is so worth it. Scott nailed this one for sure. I think beavers are so cool. Did Scott ever see a snowy track from one...weird print as they drag their tail so it looks odd with small foot prints too.
He had such a great time building the diorama -- he still cracks himself up that since he did it during work hours, he got paid to do it. I am not sure if he ever saw beaver tracks in the snow, but I would guess so. There are beaver lodges at two of the county parks he oversees and he runs a nighttime beaver hike several times a year. One of these days, I am going to attend one.
FIL carved a beaver out of another one to perch on the chew. I wish I had a pic of it. Its so cool, it's the centerpiece of the table in the original cabin.
That's amazing!!
Well I am done with PT for my hip- 16 sessions- I had 2 more but my progress was so good I passed all the tests and got ok from the surgeon to be done. Next that knee maybe early march...ugh.
Good news and then some not so good news. I'm glad that you are healing, but sorry to hear that you arelooking at another surgery :/

@Terri M That parking payment sounds awful- how do they expect anyone to get through it and remember the info??
Tonight is David's choir's concert, so we have to leave home at 5:30 to get him there in time. Then tomorrow night is my choir's dress rehearsal, and Friday my choir's concert.
You both will be in festive moods for sure. How nice that your nephew is coming to visit, do you see him often?

Uh oh... just overheard a 4-letter word from the guest bath, where I had asked David to see if he could fix the drain stopper, which was stuck... OK, I just took a long break to drive to the hardware store with my husband because he's grouchy. Looks like we're getting a whole new drain assembly in there.
Oh yay. Not just me who has a cranky hubby trying to fix plumbing/hot water problems, :eek3:

Ggggooooodddddd mmmoooorrrrrnnnniiinnnngggg (said with shivers)
Well, all I can say is were back too more normal temps. -4°F. yep, youre read it right negative 4. Cars all plugged in so the engine and oil wont be sluggish and cold. No way she would start if we didn't warm the oil.
Awwwwww, hellllll NO!!! Our 25* (Real Feel 4*) is much better (at least in theory, still way too cold for me) than -4.
She will feel so much better once this is all done and taken care of.
Yes, and the recovery period is only twoweeks where the last surgery took 4 months for the bone to heal and 6 months til she was considered fully recovered.
I too feel the lack of prepared for holidays, at least when it comes to baking. I haven't even thought of the baking list let alone bought anything.
We got this. Right? Right??? RIGHT???????????

Hope your crazy busy days today and tomorrow are not too crazy or busy. :praying2:

:runningdog: . . . . :runningdog:. . . . Still in PJs but have been busy as can be.... SCRAPPING.... :multitasking: :busy1: :dance2: dance3:D Trying to get caught up on the 12 Days of December challenges. :floorlaugh: I lost track of some of them so will have to check on all of them and see if I have kits downloaded for them or if I need to find kits for them.
Sounds like a wonderful and very Kay-ish day to enjoy!

Time to head to the Gallery before I lose track of time.

Glad to hear Jaida is home! Don't envy you having to walk her so early in the morning!

No pooping out early yesterday, but I did go to bed early with Mark at 10. We don't get home until 9 or after from church, so by the time we wind down, it is 10. Slept great!

Good Morning,
Haven't heard from Mark yet, but I'm sure lunch is on the horizon.
Got up at 7 after going to bed at 10. Barely heard Mark leave or kiss me goodbye at 5:45. At least that's the time he usually leaves.
Decided I wanted to make some veggie soup for supper. So I got the crockpot out, dumped in a 1# bag of frozen veggies, added some chicken broth, added some frozen peppers and onion, added leftover g.beans, added some canned tomatoes, added some of the frozen turkey leftovers, spiced it up and ended up with way too much! Will probably be freezing some! But Mark's stepson is coming over again on Saturday, so he will probably help us eat it! I actually put the wrong spices in it. I put the spices for my vegetarian chili rather than the spices for my 6-hour stew. OOPS! But it should be fine! I'll make some Jiffy cornbread to go with it.

After I got the soup together, I worked on Mod-Podging the jigsaw puzzle Ilene and I finished of the State birds and flowers. I found a 24x30 frame at Walmart yesterday.....the one I didn't want to go to! But, at least I didn't have to spend all afternoon shop hopping! Glad I decided to hit Walmart first! The store I went to is no bigger than the one closer to me, so not sure what the deal was.

After I finished that task, I cleaned up the kitchen from my soup mixings and commented on the new pages added to my challenge.
It's about time to hear from Mark, so I will need to get dressed in about an hour to leave. First I want to start on my daily page for the day and work on my December monthly pages. I got all of the pages I have created since I last bought prints from Persnickety in October placed into folders to move to Persinckety's website. I'll probably do that later today.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Good morning! Well made it through the colonoscopy and don't need another one for 5 years. We will see if I'm in the mood for that in 5 years! Then yesterday, the high winds knocked the power out where my great-niece goes to school so I had her all day. I loved the time with her...but I was exhausted and fell into bed at 7 last night. So crazy!

We are supposed to have snow and ice mix coming in tonight. I was planning on Minneapolis for the weekend but don't want to go with bad roads. So Brian and I modified the plan. We are paying $200 for someone to load the truck...that was my plan all along but the kids were carrying on so much that I lost the battle. But because I can't go this weekend, Brian and I will both go next week for several days and pack up boxes while Syd works then on Saturday the guys will load the truck and we will drive it to Iowa and we will be done.

Anyway, I'm going to spend some time in the Gallery. I've not done so well this week. So I'm off to enjoy it...much like taking in an art museum today.

@faerywings glad that Jaida got through the surgery successfully. And you getting to walk her in the Winter Wonderland... ;)

Good morning ladies. It's been a busy time with holiday prep for two parties (mine and the grammas group where I am head of the food committee) and getting the holiday decor done. Darrell is coming home this afternoon...yay! I enjoyed the quiet in the house for two weeks and not having to cook dinner but I'm glad that he'll be home today. I'm heading off to the liquor store this morning to stock up and will get some of the food supplies for the party on Saturday. I may have to go to a few different stores to get what I need so I may be going back tomorrow morning too. Haven't even thought about Xmas menu yet but after the wkend I can sit down with my friend and we'll plan the menu and shopping. We have one more party next Friday but I don't have to organize that one, just take a few photos for the club, so that'll be fun. The dogs will go in on Sunday for their Santa photo which is always fun.

Busy, busy...but I love this time of year. The parties, the decor, the xmas lights everywhere...it's so festive. But come January I sure enjoy the quiet again.

@faerywings I haven't been around as much so obvously Jaida had something happen but she is ok now, right?

I'm going to go check in on my challenge before getting dressed, take Remi for a walk and then go run errands. HAGD everyone.

Morning all. I will be off to the library today. Yes... I was just there 2 days ago. Checked out 3 books... turns out I had already read 1 of them, I couldn't get interested in the 2nd one..(translated from another language) and thought the 3rd one was jumping from one time back to early times that didn't make sense for the shift then back again... not cohesive about the shifts at all. Managed to read over half of it... then gave it up. No point in reading something I was not enjoying. And... it wasn't because I was tired of reading... as I picked up "Smoke Screen" by Sandra Brown (from my book collection) and read over half of it last evening!!!

I did get 3 Challenge LOs done and uploaded to digi-world yesterday. At least I am caught up on LOs for the kits I have downloaded. Can't believe that tomorrow is the end of the 12 Days of December event... The games end Dec 13 but the challenge LOs go until the end of the month. Still have a couple of challenges I haven't done.

@faerywings glad that J is home and doing well. Glad you had Gary drive to take her in and pick her up.

@bcgal00 So happy to hear that your hubby is getting out of the hospital. Keeping him in my thoughts and prayers. Sounds like you have the holiday plans made. Hope everything goes as planned.

@AK_Tracy YIKES>>> sorry the weather turned so cold. Stay safe and warm.

@LSlycord Sorry plans to get Syd packed up had to be rescheduled due to bad weather. Glad that Brian will be going with you to help get it done.

@vickyday I was LOL over your mix-up on seasonings for the pot of soup... only you will know and bet it is delicious. It sounds like the way I make my lentil soup... lots of left-overs, frozen veggies, and whatever is in the fridge... :floorlaugh:

Time to get dressed and off to get the errands done. BBL

Good Morning Ladies!

yesterday was fun. I think our high was 2°F. Normally when we are cooking in the kitchen at church its HOT and we open the windows and turn the fan on, even in winter. Yesterday was so cold the kitchen never really heated up and when we did get warm I opened the window 1/2 inch and oh it was cold cold cold. Closed it an hour later. Never turned the fan on. Well, the dining room was cold too. Looked at thermostat and it was 63 in the building. Someone had turned the heat off!!!!! HELLO!!!!! Its winter!!! Never turn the heat off. Thankfully we noticed the temp (6 hours after arriving and freezing most of the day) and the pastor realized what happened. They turned the heat on and it slowly warmed up. Had the heat stayed off we could have had frozen pipes with the temps we had/have. Crazy days. Dinner was a huge success and everyone loved the new recipe.
@vickyday here's the recipe. Its simple, easy and yummy!!!!! Any pasta works but penne pasta makes it feel more grown up vs kids style dinner LOL

Today and tomorrow are crazy busy even though yesterday was crazy busy. I think today is a game so I will play that and maybe have a chance to scrap yesterdays challenge. Need to make sure I'm right and get caught up but again wont be home until late tonight. Temps are dropping as the (haha) sun rises (in two hours) were down to 6 at the moment but its suppose to be a bit lower before were done. I think the hight will be about 10 if were lucky.

Off to feed the dogs and plug the car in to warm. Love the engine block heater. makes a huge difference in how long it take the car to warm up. Have a wonderful (warm) day ladies!
