Why don't faeries hibernate?
They really should. At least for a short period of time, say December to April? Oh. I guess that isn't really all that short. How about Monday to Friday every week? Maybe that would work better.

I made it through yesterday by some source of strength that I didn't think I had. Chalk that up to a big plus for me:whoo:

The woman at the food pantry is so darn sweet and helpful and she was able to give me a big tub of coffee, cans of dog food and some free range eggs from a local farm, along with a bunch of smaller items. What a difference it makes and I am so grateful. This is the last week I will get grocery money from Brendan since he is heading back home today or tomorrow. His mom must be so happy to have him back. I know that i would be.

I went with Caitlyn last night to take the rats to the vet. They did not like being closed up in a box, so when we got into the exam room and she opened the lid, they immediately ran out, up her arm and down her sweater. The visual on that! Hysterical! They are all good, lungs are clear and the vet gave Cait some suggestions on how to keep them healthy with the air getting drier. she suggested bringing them into the bathroom while she showers so they get the moist air that way- that would be interesting. hehe!!

Today is Ray's birthday, my girl is 11! Caitlyn baked a carrot and peanut butter cake for her and we have a stuffed toy for her that she can unwrap tonight. 11. It seems so crazy how fast that went.

Make sure you checkout all of the good stuff that The Cheery O's, Designers, and Buddy have planned for you all this month. The fun is already beginning!

Have a happy happy day!

Nancy- the fog completely covered the mountain yesterday up here. But it is all cleared up today and I know that you and Luther will get a great walk in. 1 year, already? On the one hand it seems like you have always had him, but at the same time, a year?? Already?? So fast!

Rae- good for you for getting a schedule done for work and all that. Scott is taking 2 classes online next semester and is worried how he will do that, but if he can figure out who to best schedule his time like you did, he will be fine. What a great feeling that must have been to wake up no stressed over being behind. I wouldn't know that feeling :pound:
That is terrible about Ava's owner, I hope he doesn't flake on you either. But you have a good attitude about it. *fingers crossed it works out ok*
I am sorry that you go through the brain fog too, it is a horrible feeling not being able to remember things that you *know* you should know. I live for my lists and even that doesn't help much of the time.

Trudy- good that you didn't go on the hike, the last thing that you would need before your vaca it to get hurt. I remember worrying about the kids getting sick before we would go on vacations, especially Caitlyn when she was little, should would have ear infections every 3 weeks. Ear infection, 10 days of abx, a few days good, bam, ear infection again.
Were you able to get a lot done? Hope that everything is pulling together for you.
Thanks so much for the compliments of the Open House items- I hope that we all do ok.

hugs to all ::grouphug

good morning - the sun is shining and the temperature is in the 50s. Omgosh it does not feel like the first of Dec. It was a great walk this am as Luther got to see Sophie, Brooke and an other dog I forget the name. Had a great talk with my sister who is getting ready to have cataract surgery. She does not seem too nervous. Her daughter will take and pick up so I know she is in good hands. It will be awesome for her to see better! Made the beef stew last night and it was pretty good. My son says it was bland and my DH says weird veggie combo LOL. And the stew was bland compared to the spicy Thai, cajon, Tex/Mex and Indian food I often make but it was just what I remember for it to taste. But I have leftovers so I am not cooking today! Got a fun page done of my son with his Movember mustache.

Chris you are stronger than you think and congrats! Happy birthday to your sweet doggie - wow 11 years and I am just celebrating have Luther for one year. My son and were looking this am at his puppy photos and videos and too cute.

Trudy sorry the weather is so bad and no hike but yea no hurt ankle before vacation. Hope you got all the packages wrapped and mailed.

Rae I am always impressed by your time management skills. I bet this will make your day and work go faster and leave more time to scrap. So sorry that Ava's owner is being so bad. Perhaps he is embarrassed to say he has no money to pay but he should still be man enough to man up and tell you this instead of ignoring the calls. Hope it works out!

Have a great day all!

Good morning, ladies. Wow...December 1st already. I got a little thrill as I lifted my Xmas mug out of the cupboard this morning. It has been my tradition for over 25 years to use my glass Xmas mug, starting Dec 1st until month end. They stay unused all the other months. They are special as I bought them while shopping with my mom yrs ago, at our fave home decor shop, Bowrings. Years ago I couldn't afford their prices so would go in and browse when out shopping with my mom and we would ooh and ah over all the beautiful things. One year I splurged and bought this set of four mugs. I cherish them, wash them by hand and they are still intact, over 25 yrs later. I don't let anyone else touch them. They are my special mugs. I'll take a pic later and do a page about them for my Xmas album.

My hubs was on his computer first thing this morning, as it was his work's year end yesterday so today the sales numbers were released online and everyone could see who made budget (met the quota of sales numbers for the year) and he did, which means he gets a bonus cheque in January (yay b/c I don't get much of a cheque in Jan b/c my main client is away so no work, no money). Luckily, Darrell is numbers oriented and has been tracking his sales all year so he knew he was over budget. This morning the numbers posted were all wrong so everyone will be texting back and forth and stressing over the mistakes. Hope they get it all worked out. It never fails to amaze me how a billion dollar company with thousands of employees can make so many mistakes, do so many things wrong. It boggles my mind. Anyway, they guys will all be up in arms about it today and hope it soon is straightened out. It means a thousand or two extra coming our way in January so they better figure it out. Yay for my guy being so good with numbers. I sure am not LOL.

It's supposed to rain today so will get Taz out for a walk in a bit if the weather holds.

Chris - not sure if I mentioned it yesterday but all your photos of your products look amazing. Love the way you packaged them too. Hope you get a lot of sales. Gary's wine holders are amazing too! You guys are a talented bunch!

Nancy - hope your sister's surgery goes well. I think nowadays, cataract surgery is fairly simple and fast. I am squeamish about eye stuff so I would be freaking out though. I know my in-laws both had great success from their surgeries yrs ago. I saw your page and commented on it. It is wonderful!

Trudy must be busy packing and preparing for her vacation. Lucky her, only a few more days before she goes.

I'm off to see what my work day is going to start like. I need to call our computer guy too and see if he is having any luck with ordering parts for my new computer. I haven't heard anything from him yet. Not sure if that is a good or bad thing. My old computer is still chugging along so for now it's working although making terrible sounds when I first start it up in the morning and doesn't like running photoshop on it.

So I'm off to start my work day. Have a wonderful day, everyone.

Hi ladies... my goodness two days in a row where I have slept in!! :bliss: Although I did want to be here early to take part in the Advent fun! I see everyone is dressing up for the season! So much fun!! This morning I am off to my sister Pam's for a bit, she has a couple of nice tops she is going to lend to me for our vacation! I need something to wear with my wrap around skirt and she has some beautiful clothes! She always has had lovely things to wear, we used to sneak into her closet when we were younger and all still living at home and wear her clothes to school, she would get so MAD!! But she was smart and saved her money for the things she really wanted...my sister Wendy and I not so much LOL! Anyway now she doesn't mind lending a few things to us

Chris - So nice that you got some great items at the food pantry! It certainly will be different for you all not to have Brendon around, but I am sure his Mother will be glad to have her boy back again! Hopefully the Step Father is not in the picture this time! Or was it his real Father?? I can't remember. At any rate, I hope that things are going to be much better for him at home! Happy Birthday to your fur baby!! I hope that Ray enjoys her cake and present!!

Nancy - Wow you are certainly having nice weather for December! We are very cool this morning with a cover of frost on everything, it looks pretty and it will soon melt, at least it isn't snow yet! How dare your guys complain about your Stew!! They should be happy that you made them something good to eat!! It is so disheartening when we do not get appreciated for the things that we do!! I did see your moustache page and I will get back to the gallery this morning to take a closer look at it. I saw it last night just before heading to bed and I was just too tired to stay and comment on it. I hope you and Luther have a great day today!

Rae - How wonderful to know that your MG will be getting a nice bonus in the New Year!! I used to get them at the bank when I was working and always appreciated the extra $$! Hopefully they will get all the bugs worked out with the number at your DH's company, it really is amazing how many mistakes are made in a large corporation and it makes you wonder if they do that to see if they can get away with it, or to make their books look better for profit?? Nice story about your Christmas Mugs!! How wonderful to have that memory every year! I loved to shop or rather browse at BowRing too and its sad that we do not have that store here anymore. It was always a bit out of price range for me too, but oh the pretty things they always had in that store :drama: I look forward to seeing your page about those mugs!

Ok I am outta here I have to get to my sisters so that I can get back before lunch and work on some things here at the O. Have a wonderful day everyone and enjoy the Party!!

Today DH's Hum & Strum group played their holiday sing along after the monthly potluck at our senior center. They didn't get much advance notice they'd be doing it, but they still sounded good. Our weather is still OK but Nov. was the 2nd warmest on record. I'm behind in not knowing anything yet about the party here so have to check into that.

Chris, girl you still keep getting things done! You are much stronger than you realize - and all of it uphill. Couldn't see the FB pix, but know your open house things must be fabulous. And happy 11 to Ray!

Nancy, I still think your guys often need a slap upside the head! I too can't imagine it's already a year with Luther. How does the time fly like that? Our Christmas Bird Count compiler has started lining us up, a reminder that's only a little over two weeks from now. Will you be counting this year too?

Rae, good luck with keeping the computer running. Hope you get good news on parts for the new one. And cheers for DH and a bonus! So glad you're feeling better.

Trudy, how nice to have a sister to borrow clothes from. We will all be wishing we were there when you get to Mexico.

Hope it's a great day for all.

Hay, hay, it's me; here for my weekly visit!! Didn't I say last week that this week would be a quiet one? I LIED!!!! Whew!! I also visited the food pantry. We are allowed to go once a month, unless emergency, but I never get that bad. I am so thankful for them!! They give us so much. Sometimes I turn much of it down because I just don't need all that for one person. I also get a smaller box for seniors only. That is also once a month. I will pick that up next week. I like it because of the cheese we get.

Still like fall up here. 53 and sunny yesterday. This is CRAZY!!! Are we going to get a winter????? I hate it getting dark so early. And we still have 21 days to go before the days start getting longer.

Chris, I can't believe you are shopping for an 18 and 20 year old! What in the world do you get them??? I gave up when my kids got to that age and just gave them money! They were just too picky. Now they are going through the same thing with their kids! Payback sucks!!!

Nancy, give Luther a big Happy Birthday hug for me!! I wish I knew Cupcake's birthday but since she was given to me and they didn't know, I just count the day I got her as her birthday. Sorry you got caught in the downpour. Did you dance in the rain??? I LOVE rain!!

Rae, oh you sound so organized. Want to give me some lessons? If I dare get on this computer first thing in the morning I am a goner!! Nothing else gets done!! So I have decided that at least an hour of just straightening up each morning is a MUST. Then Friday is my regular cleaning day----as long as I stay off the computer!!!! Oh, and am SOOO glad you are feeling better!!!! WOOT WOOT!!!!

Trudy, slept till 8 a.m.? HAY that's every day for me!! Sometimes 9 a.m. I have a crazy dog that can't make it through the night so I am up and down like a yo-yo! I am ready to put her bed in the bathroom so if she pees, its easy to clean up. The rest of the house is carpeted. At least she does come and wake me up that she has to go out---but every 3, 4 hours???? Come on!!!!!

Am lovin' the Advent party!! What a neat idea! Can't wait to see what comes along each day. Well, going to check out for now. Hope you all had a great day and have a wonderful evening.
