Well, well, well. Another day of weirdness. ;)
It's just way too cold! 66* in my house, 56* outside. I am wrapped in blankets and can't get warm. I wanted to go in the attic yesterday since it wasn't too hot to get Braxton but then I forgot. I am not sure if I'll have time today.
It was another day of good/bad/anxiety all rolled into one. Love them. I never know if I am coming or going. I started my day in a great mood, all of my plans revolved around spending the entire afternoon outside. That didn't last long because Caitlyn found out that the interest rates increased (again!!) and she was freaking out that she didn't think they could afford the house anymore. A few hours of back and forth and possibly moving some money to pay student loans down and she is feeling a little better. Just going forward ATM and hoping for the best. Talk about knots in my stomach-- and hers and Gary's and Tom's. :/
That put a damper on my outside time. BFF is having more issues with her mom. Plus my dad's two big tests are today and just ugh.

But I put another paper on my fridge! dance4 I got an email from the County Parks and Rec Dept. with the August activities. There is a Forest Bathing Hike this Sunday at the trails that I usually hike on. And it was free! So I am all registered for that and added that to my Pride Shrine. *G* I showed Scott and he said, "Yeah, I saw that yesterday. Wait- no-- this is a new one!" He thinks his friend leads this one too. I am looking fwd to these.

I am cleaning this morning and then going with Gary to his Lyme dr appt this afternoon. That's always a long trip and a long wait. My friend lent me a book Normal Family: On Truth, Love, and How I Met My 35 Siblings. I started it last night and hoo boy, it is wild! I'll bring it with me to read in the waiting room.

Today, I am grateful that I enjoy reading. I love reading books on a wide variety of topics. I can go from Young Adult dystopia to a WWII battle to a mind-blowing memoir like this one. Each book opens a new world to me.

@vickyday Uh oh!
If the first week in August is unusually warm,
The winter will be white and long.

What happens when the first week of August feels more like Autumn??? We got spoiled last year with very little snow but that's not normal or good. But dang, if the Earth is cooking I at least want to get the benefit of not freezing my butt off all winter. {insert maniacal laughter]
That's a lot of salsa! I hope that Mark didn't eat as much yesterday as he did the day before. How was your visit with DD?
I did the White Space Challenge yesterday and struggled with it. I woke up to a PM that I did it wrong, no less :rotfl:
Hoping that Ilene is feeling back to herself soon

@bcgal00 Whew, it sounds like the meds are working. Keep on resting as much as you can xo

@Cherylndesigns Last night's dream was that I was speeding on the highway- not typical NJ-level speeding but race car mph. And I rear-ended another car, went airborne, flipped in the air, and waited to die. That part seemed to take forever. Good thing I am still here. It was 100% not a premonition because I don't speed like that and there would *never* only be one other car on the highways around here.
Hahaha!! You wouldn't catch me "bathing" in any of the rivers here- I like to swim in clear water. Mucky rivers? As a kid I would have but now?? Not a chance! :hahano:
That's awful that you are so sensitive to noise. For me it was only for the years I was sick and believe me, I don't want to deal with that part of the illness again. I understand you would have been ballistic with the gum-snapping.
You might want to consider investing in some grappling hooks for all the lifted trucks!

Love and hugs!

Good morning ladies. I am not online as much right now as I am resting more as I recover from shingles. I am getting out today for a few hours and will see how I do. I suspect I'll need a nap before and after. The fatigue is very much reminiscent of the covid fatigue I experienced before. I'm so tired and being tired. But, hopefully I will recover quickly.

I'm going to take my pill and lay down. HAGD everyone.

Good morning OFam,

Well, we don't have to worry about a cold summer here - it's been in the 90's, but we don't have the humidity and there's always a breeze up here on the hill. It comes straight across from the mountains. Chris @faerywings I knew you'd LOL at the "bathing in the river". I'm so glad your "experiences in the woods" don't include that. They do sound very awesome though and I'm so happy that you're adding that to your new things to try. Yes, I have thought about grappling hooks to get up in these big trucks. Actually, I have a little fold-flat one step stool that Ava is keeping in her truck for me until she gets her running boards put on. Of course, we make a big production out of it - she runs around and says, "Princess Cici you can step out on your stool now". We're all cray cray.

TODAY IS THURSDAY. TODAY IS THURSDAY. Okay, yesterday, I thought it was Friday. (Don't ask me why - it just felt like a Friday and Chuck was confused, too. I swear it's because most days seem like the movie "Groundhog Day". Fummy thing is, I always know what DATE it is, but not what DAY. I think it's because of all my CT stuff - they're all released by DATE and any other things I have to do, like blog posts are by DATE. IDK. :spinningchair:

I got Joyful Hearts Designs "Dark Side" challenge done - it was fun re-telling a "scary at the time" story. As an adult, I can laugh about it, but it wasn't funny, in the least when it happened.

I'm going to sign off for now - Chris @faerywings still sending good vibes to the kids - darned those interest rates anyway. They're a little wild and wooly right now so the sooner they can clamp this down the better. It's a crazy economic time right now. Keeping fingers crossed for them.

Hugs to all and HAGD.

Morning, all... A bit cooler this morning - so the house is opened up. But it will be back up into the 100's this weekend. << sigh >> I got the laundry sorted and started already. Today maybe a PJ day as I need to wait until the laundry is done before getting a shower.

I played around with some of Aunt Mary's photos in PSE. All of them had to be edited in one way or another to make them clearer and most took several different edits. Some were B/W, some sepia; sizes from 2"square to 2"X4" rectangles. So glad I know about 'white balance' editing and using the Enhance edits. I saved them on 2 blank backgrounds so they are ready when I go to design the layouts.

@faerywings Wouldn't mind if you sent some of that cooler weather my way. :floorlaugh: Sorry about the interest rate increase.. how the kids will still be able to qualify for the house.

@bcgal00 You are wise to rest as much as you can. Glad the meds are helping.

@Cherylndesigns I had to LOL over you trying to climb into the trucks with the high suspensions. Glad that Ava has a one-step stool to help get into her truck.

Time to change laundry loads. HAGD

Things will work out with C&T and the house as it is supposed to! It may not be the one meant for them!
Chilly here today, too! I'm in long pants and wearing a sweater! No flip flops, either!

I know, right? However, we are not quite as cool as you are. Low 70's. Today actually does feel like Autumn!
Mark did better with the salsa yesterday......I should say he would after learning he actually threw up after eating so much. I'm glad I slept through that!
Had a great visit with DD!
How in the world did you mess up on the white space challenge? Wrong kind of background? I think I noticed that and wondered if it would be acceptable.....if I am remembering correctly.
Ilene is getting there! I saw her today, but no hugging or touching! She gave me some carrots and potatoes she had too many of.

Good Afternoon!
Went to lunch with Mark today. Then went to Ilene's to pick up some extra veggies she had too many of and wanted to give them to me before they went bad. Potatoes and carrots! Perfect timing! I added them to a pork roast and that's what is for supper!
Ilene is getting back to her healthy self more each day. But we still didn't hug like usual today. Just to be safe!
Been working on Sweet Doll's Template challenge. I had already made a layout for National Watermelon Day, which is today.....who knew? Farmer's Almanac newsletter is how I found out! When watermelon is mentioned, I ALWAYS think of a picture of my son when he was 4 years old and eating a huge slice of watermelon with the juices running clear off of his elbows! So, I used that photo and did a page using Kel's free template for the challenge this month.
I want to work on one more page later and that is about all I will do today.
The weather is rainy and much cooler! The temp and humidity was wonderful yesterday! Low 80's and very low humidity! My kind of weather! I think it was actually more humid when we left church last night than it had been the rest of the day! Probably because the rain was moving into the area. But, that's OK because we really do need the rain. This is a nice, slow, steady rain, too, and not a deluge! So, hopefully, we won't have any basement leaking!
HAGD!
