hey O-Fam! How are you all today? I am good, the sun is shining and there is low humidity ATM. It is supposed to get very hot/humid later so I am enjoying it right now, having the windows open and listening to the birds.

I am still feeling mentally all over the place but maybe I can work on that soon. I hope to clean and organize my kitchen today. Or do I want to work in my office? I need to have one room tidy. The mess all over the LR/DR is making me bonkers. Maybe my office area is a better choice. *nods*
I was able to clean without accident or incident at my friend's. Always a good thing ;)
After dinner, we had a family game night- another round of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, the one where you mine for gold. To get us in the "mood," we played background music. We asked Alexa to play "music from the Wild West," "saloon music," "fiddle music," and finally ended up with a bluegrass station hahaha! Caitlyn won again, she has some good strategy and planning. Me, I just push my mining cart around and hope for the best.
th

I guess that is the big plan for today- I should organize my office and maybe work outside a little to clean up more of the dead and dying plants.

Big hugs!!

Bitmoji *does* have a mining sticker! LOL!!!!!!!!! Although I think the other prospector looks more like me than the Bitmoji! :D
Maybe not how I look but how I feel --- 100% *G*

@LSlycord I haven't scrolled down yet so I am hoping that the modem came and you are back online.
How did Syd do with those classes? That is a heavy load for the 1st day. How many credits is she taking? I am not surprised that Shaun is missing Syd. It's perfect timing for Decker to be with you guys and keep your minds busy.

@Betty Jo Good for you for purging the apt junk! And while it stinks that you have to do it all this month, it is a good thing since it puts pressure on you to actually *do it* I work better on things like that when I have a purpose or end goal. I swear by having big family parties here a few times a year, that kicks me into gear. I get lazy otherwise.
I bet the low-salt diet helps more than you realize. he always notices that when he cheats, that's when the episodes occur.
That's awful that you lost all of your g-parents so young :(
bitmoji is a website and app where you can make a little doll version of yourself

@vickyday any little plot of soil is good enough to be called a garden in my book :D I have several areas of my lawn/patio/side yard that I call gardens but they are basically just places I move different plants around to. This year I gave up on trying to grow veggies other than two grape tomato plants. I used to do cukes (my family loves homemade pickles) and eggplant/zucchini as well as a bunch of tomato varieties. Full-size tomatoes always got eaten by chipmunks before they were ripe enough to pick. and I never go enough zucc or eggplant to really cook with them. Mostly flowers and herbs this year. The basil I got is gi-normous and I will be sad when it dies at the end of the season.
You are really amazing getting so many LOs done, glad you are feeling so much better

@taxed4ever That is such a bummer about the hike getting canceled. :( Do you think it will be rescheduled? I hope so, it sounded like it would be neat and somewhere different to change it up. And to think instead of a cool ferry ride and a pretty hike, you had to clean bathrooms pfffft
Bwuahahahah!!! APB on your Gary's mustache!!! ROTFLMAO! :D:D:D

@bcgal00 Oh no, that is awful news that you have covid :( I hope that it passes quickly and that no one else gets sick

@Cherylndesigns how sweet to have the hummingbirds waiting for Chuck to feed them. My BFF will be so jealous. She has been trying for years to get them to come to her feeder. She has one that pops in occasionally but only the one. (or at least one that looks the same)
I used dried lemon balm in the dream pillows I used to make, but mostly the essential oil in the lotions. Sorry!

@BrightEyes any news from the GP? How awesome that you are already noticing less dizziness on the new BP dose.
Homemade waffles are so yummy- hope that you can make some of them soon

@tanteva that is about 9 minutes longer than I would have made it with silly people asking silly questions. I hope that it went better for you today. Make a goal of lasting 11 minutes today, and then 12 minutes tomorrow. You will get there! hah

Trudy- good for you to spend the day with your brother in the river!
I am nervous about Scott coming home from the festival with Covid and told him to test immediately if he starts to feel sick.

@Kythe I HEAR YA!!! I feel so bored too- I mean listen to me ramble about my days. :(
I wish I had a suggestion to keep you from being bored and binging. I end up playing online jigsaw puzzles or crosswords to kill time (then get mad at myself for getting nothing done)
Hope that you get out of the antsy mood soon

love to you all

Good morning to everyone! Dropping in for a few minutes before I get dressed and head out to pick up one of my widowed friends (Carolyn, who will be 84 in October) and head to the other widowed friends' house (Ilene, who turned 82 in January). We will go to lunch and then I'm going to take them to a thrift store my daughter took me to earlier this summer. Then we will go back to Ilene's house to play games and chit chat the rest of the afternoon.

Two or 3 years ago, Mark (DH) was dropped to 32 hours a week, which hurt the pocket book, as you can imagine. So we had to dip into my IRA monies and get some coming in each month to make up the difference. So far it has helped to keep up but not get ahead. It must have been during COVID that the business dropped off, so that would have been 2 years ago, I guess. Anyway, they go through spurts where the business picks back up and Mark gets to work more hours, but usually just a few hours more. Well, this week Mark is going to be working on Fridays again and he has gotten in some OT! So, that is good news! Mark is a machinist and works for a guy he grew up with who inherited the business from his dad. Mark has worked there since he was 18. He says he could probably make more money working somewhere else, but there are perks to working there. #1 the shop is 5 minutes away. #2 he has access to the shop anytime he needs it. #3 he can take off anytime he wants/needs to. #4 no big corporation issues. Those are just a few of the perks. There are a total of 7 people working there, I believe. Anyway, its good that he is getting more hours for a while.

@faerywings I wasn't even planning on planting anything this year until our granddaughter called and wanted to know if we wanted to buy any plants from the school she attends for their school project. Her great grandmother was there with her when she called and when we gave her our order it turned into a free gift for Mark since his birthday was around that time. Mark is always helping her with stuff, so that was nice of her. Mark is loving the tomatoes on his salads right now!

I just looked at the time and realize I've got to get dressed and get on the road! I'll come back later in the day and do some more personals! The weather is cloudy and cooler outside than inside for right now! Which is saying something because Mark freezes me out! I always have my housecoat on, LOL!

OK, have a great day, y'all!

Running a bit later than usual this morning. Didn't wake up until 7:20. Could be because I read until 1:30AM!!! Had to put the book down when I kept dropping it as I nodded off. Will probably have to go back and re-read the last chapter or so.

No, haven't heard from the doc about my blood work and any meds she wants to add. Had another cold spell most of yesterday afternoon - finally got warm around 6PM. Makes it hard to decide what to wear for the day. If I put on shorts, I really feel the cold when it hits but if I put on long pants, I get too hot when the coldness wears off. Yesterday and the day before, I wore pants then changed into shorts in the evenings.

I talked to both DD#1 and DD#3 yesterday. They called to see what the doc said. DD#3 didn't leave here for the visit with DD#1 until Sunday due to all the rainstorms/flooding that was happening on Fri/Sat. I was relieved to hear that. She still had to drive through rainstorms around Flagstaff, AZ. Between that and road construction, the trip took almost twice as long as it usually does. They are both enjoying their visit together. DD#3 is watching the weather and road conditions to decide when and which route to take to come back home.

@faerywings - glad you made it through cleaning for the weapons guy with no problems. I hear you about clutter and messy rooms driving you nuts. When I was younger and the 5 kids were young, it didn't bother me as much but now I want things put away. Oh course, I say that... and the books in the master are still sitting stacked on the floor in front of the bookcase and TV console. Cataloging them before I put them in the bookcase came to a screeching halt when this coldness/hot/dizziness hit.
Just a word of caution about Bitmoji... there have been reports that it has been used to gain access to your info on FB and other social sites.

@tanteva Hang in there, gal. Yep, there are a lot of people who don't pay attention to signs, roped paths, etc... and come over to pester you... You can make it, grit your teeth and point them in the right direction. Sending calming thoughts your way.

@LSlycord so glad your modem finally arrived and you are finally back on-line again. Good luck on getting caught up on the work you missed while you waited for it. And, yes... I was LOL over Shaun's FB photo!!! What a character!

@vickyday Sounds like a fun day out with your friends. Glad you are feeling so much better.

@Kythe .... wow, that is a lot to accomplish in one morning! Hope you can find something to do with the rest of the day so you are not bored.... <<< hugs >>>

Yes, gals... I am back to scrapping some this month. Not up to my usual standards but managed to do 16 LOs so far this month. I have to work on it in the mornings before the coldness/tiredness hits.

Morning ladies... Another scorching hot day today! Friday there is a slight chance of rain, but I bet it doesn't happen. The swim in the river was so nice yesterday even though the temperature of the water was a warm 77 degrees. Its crazy how it felt so nice and cool getting in the water when really it was pretty darn warm. This afternoon I get my hair done and it will be good to have it done! I still wear a mask when I see my hairdresser as she is immunocompromised. I don't mind at all and am starting to feel that maybe going back to wearing masks everywhere is not such a bad idea! So many cases out there right now, what is it going to be like when the weather is cooler and everyone is inside all the time together? Will this Covid ever leave us a alone? Thinking of @bcgal00 and that hoping she only has a mild case of it!

@faerywings - Glad you survived the cleaning at the weaponry LOL. That game sounds fun! Is it based on the ride at Disney?? What a great idea to have that music playing in the background to get you in the mood! Hope that not too many of your plants are dying out in the garden! I will be working out in mine this weekend too lots of pruning and deadheading to do. It will be nice to be outside as long as the temps are a bit cooler by then. Yes hoping that this last hike will be re-scheduled for another day, I was really looking forward to that one!

@vickyday - Oh Vicky that is awful that your hubby has not been working so much! Sure hope that things turn around for the company and that business picks up again! Hope that you have a lovely time with your two friends today! Sounds like a fun day planned with them!

@BrightEyes - sure hope you find out what is going on with the chills etc! My FIL had to go in for a bunch of tests this week too. He is having dizzy spells and hopefully we will hear about the results by Friday. Must have been a great book that kept you up reading so late! Hope that you are feeling better today and not having any chills!

Well the boys are calling again, its like I can set the clock by them LOL. Talk again soon!

Good morning all,

I'm tired this morning - don't know why, but hopefully, I'll pull out of it.

Chris @faerywings good news about no dropped weapons on your feet. I laugh every time I think about you having to clean around all of them. Doesn't he also have a suit of armor, or am I dreaming that? Dang, Scott has covid!!! You all just got rid of that dratted stuff - I'm like Trudy @taxed4ever I don't know if it will ever go away. I think it's going to be like the flu or the cold until it finally fizzles out - please let it eventually fizzle out.

I asked about the dried lemon balm, because I was going to send you some if you still used it. I have a bumper crop of Lemon Balm this year. Some of my herbs didn't make it, as you know - mainly my dill and lavender (the two I really wanted.) My sage was a bumper crop too, as was my mint. I'm drying all of them, but not sure what to do with the mint yet. It smells SO good - I think I'll just use it for tea. I have some little teabags that I can fill with any herbs and use in my tea. I'm going to make some lemon balm tea bags, too.

Well, it's afternoon now - Adrienne just came to visit but had to leave for a meeting. I can't believe how many hummingbirds we have! I've always tried to get them to come and had feeders, but they're just thick out here. They even suck out of my flowers in the front. They seem to especially like my Daylillies.

I'm going to get off of here now and see what I need to take care of - layout wise. I've gotten several pre-releases done, and did Anna's Color Challenge, but that's about it for the last week or so.

Hugs to all and I hope you're doing well. If covid is around, you - be careful - stay away. I don't want it here, but I'm sure it's around. I stick pretty close to home. We're going for pedis tomorrow, but all the nail techs wear masks and always have.

It's nearly 3:00 for me here. I can't believe I didn't check in this morning yet! I am working on posting my layouts around the internet today and finishing the challenges. There's no way I can finish all the designer ones, but I've just finished my last for the regular monthly challenges.

Hubby is overnighting at work today, so It's s girl's night again. I learned my lesson, and Meli ordered herself a pizza, and I am NOT going to pig out and have pizza today. I still haven't decided what I am going to have. I really like that he's doing this Bible study at work. It's giving him some good things to focus on instead of the craziness of the world.

@bcgal00 Oh no! I'm so very sorry you have Covid. I too hope no one else gets sick and you get over it quickly. Sending you long-distance HUGS and prayers. ♥

Hi Betty Jo. How's the vertigo? Are you still re-organizing?
Hey Cheryl, The Vertigo is almost totally gone, just a teeny bit of dizziness in the mornings. Yes, I'll be decluttering for a while yet, I'm afraid. I hope your tiredness passes soon. I just finished a new fall siggie for the challenge and will post it in a few minutes. Feels so good to be able to scrap again. I've missed it terribly. ♥

@BrightEyes Thanks, Kay! I'm feeling much better! Had a great time with my friends today, too! And I sure hope they get things worked out with you and those chills! And, you're my kinda woman staying up late to read! However, I am hooked on audiobooks now.

@bcgal00 So sorry to hear you have COVID! I pray you have an easy case of it and feel better SOON!!!

@taxed4ever Thanks, Trudy! I pray DH's work increases, too! And, yes! Had a wonderful day with my friends! I can't believe Canada is warmer than it is here in NC! My first husband was an Eagle Scout and did some canoe trips to Canada. He decided we needed to do that for vacation one year. We went in August and it was cool weather! I was glad I had taken long sleeves and pants and a jacket! Beautiful country!

@Cherylndesigns Did your tiredness go away today? How do you dry your herbs? I grew some oregano last year and it completely took over one of my 3-tiered boxes! Every once in a while I notice my hummingbirds feeding from my flowers, but that is usually when I have let their sugar water go dry! I love watching them! We have a female that will get right in your face if you are near the feeder. I think she is trying to say, "what are you thinking? move along already!" LOL!

@pachimac What Bible study is your DH doing, Susie? Is he doing it with a group? We all need something to focus on instead of the craziness that is going on in the world, that's for sure!

@Betty Jo I certainly hope your vertigo left you alone today! Did you get lots done in your purging?

Hope everyone had a great day! I'll talk about mine tomorrow!

@vickyday It's called "Biblical Citizenship by Patriot Academy. I haven't seen the book they are using yet, but it's supposed to be reading the Declaration of Independence and our Constitution in the light of biblical teachings, and how to live a Christian life in an increasingly unChristian world.
