Hello O-fam!

I am running a little late this morning and I really can't figure out why. I must have spent too much time poking around the internet. Scott and Sam posted pictures from their vacation and I had to look at all of them. They are so freaking adorable together. One reason I think his moving out might not be as hard as I imagine is that he seems so happy. That balances things out a lot for me.

Things seem to be moving in the right direction for a lot of other small items. I got an email saying that my dress had shipped. Of course, I can't find it or track it on the website. But they seem to know where it is. (I think. :/ ) I also picked up my grocery order and they did combine the two so I don't have to go in person today.
It's the little things :)
OH! I have all of my toes! That's a big one. I made it through cleaning yesterday and didn't knock anything off the walls that could hurt me. I came close once but was able to steady the knife before it slipped.

No plans today. I asked Scott if he could take Gary and me on a hike to overlook a small lake nearby. I went with Scott last year and I know Gary would enjoy it. It poured last night and it's supposed to rain on and off all day so everything is going will be muddy and buggy. I might go over to TJ MAXX and see if they still have that big bat throw pillow. This is the best time to shop for Cait's birthday.

Today I am grateful rain that waters my plants.

Love to you all!

@LSlycord Have you heard from the HOA/landowners about the property or will you have more info after the meeting today? I am with you on not taking what they say at face value. Ya have to get it all in writing. *nods*
How was Syd's first day? Does Shaun start next week?

@vickyday Happy to have you in the Winter Haters Club with me LOL! I hate the snow and we usually get a lot of it. Bleck!
Hope you get to see Ilene soon.

@BrightEyes :laundry: Dreams? Uh no! Did you get all of yours caught up? I hope that you had happier and less chore-oriented dreams last night. Good to hear the BP seemed better and that you weren't dizzy.

@bcgal00 Any updates on the buyers who were interested? It's good that you are getting people to come and look. Someone is bound to like it, you have made it so nicely updated. If I had money, I'd buy it :p
I can imagine how happy Remi must have been to be running around.

@Cherylndesigns I think that by the time boys are Asher and Christopher's age, there is no such thing as "good photos." Boys!! :giggle4: That's great that Adrienne is taking it easier and feeling better too.

xoxo!

Good morning lovely O'ladies. (Checking watch to make sure that it is still morning.) Things are quiet around here. I work, the dogs whine when they want breakfast or supper or to go outside, I fix supper, Shaun comes out of his room to eat, I do Wordle and Connections and share my results. She shares her results with me. She tells me that her day is fine. I turn on Suits and watch until time to go to bed.

Rinse and repeat. I know that I will get back into the groove...but boy is this hard. I thought it would be easier this time but I think it is harder. Her lease is a year long lease. Unless she finds an internship here (which is unlikely), I don't think that she will ever really come home to live again. She will come and visit...sometimes even for a few weeks, but I don't think she will ever live here again. Cue the crying....

But, life goes on. And I'll get it figured out! Let me go back and get caught up on personals from yesterday.

Woke up to cloudy skies and cooler temps.... and we had a brief shower about an hour ago! Felt almost like a hint of fall in the air.
DD#1 called - so glad to hear from her. Her voice has been strained ever since their trip to Disneyland 5 weeks ago. She saw an ENT guy yesterday. He said the vocal cords are still healing and voice will come and go for another few weeks. She couldn't talk as long as she wanted but was great to hear from her.

Need to get a shower and dressed and run my errands. Will try to come back later for personals.

@BrightEyes so glad that you were able to spend some time talking with your daughter. And so glad that you didn't lose your rings yesterday!

@bcgal00 I hope that today's showing of the house goes even better. I didn't realize that you had shingles...it's sounds like they weren't too bad but those things are wicked! Hope that it isn't too hot while you have the dogs out for the house to be shown!

@vickyday it sounds like you are really getting some much needed rest after Covid. You are right...it's good to be retired right now.

@Cherylndesigns glad that Adrienne is feeling back to herself.

@faerywings the kids being happy does balance a lot! Syd hasn't seemed to be really happy and that weighs on me. However, it might be that she is just tired from moving and getting back. She is meeting a friend that was in her group in Germany for supper so that should be good. Haven't heard anything from the HOA at the lake...hopefully no later than tomorrow. I am impatient...but Brian balances me out! I'm so glad that the dress shipped...and yes, Shaun starts Monday. He really needs to get back to school.

Later!

Good afternoon sweeties,

Still hot and dry here - I've been watering daily, but most of my plants aren't happy. My ferns seem to be because they're sheltered from the direct sun. They're hanging on the porch and they're a little more protection for them. Oh, my climbing vines are happy and so is my Zebra Grass. They must be very heat tolerant. Of course, the weeds are on crack - they're thriving and getting way out of hand. IF it ever cools off, and rains, I will get after them. It's so sad to watch my poor plants suffering and struggling like they are.
Chris @faerywings I'm glad you're happy for Scott and that your dress has been shipped. Red Letter Day. Everything will be okay and I hope you enjoy your hike. Glad you didn't lose any of your toes cleaning yesterday.

Linda @LSlycord Adrienne is feeling better - we had a talk about her emotionally/physically exhaustion today and she's starting to realize it. I told her to take care of herself and everything else would fall into place. Same for you, Linda. Everything will be okay. If Syd follows her path for education and for her dreams, that's a good thing, right????? Braden will probably never "live at home" again, either. He has big goals for himself and he'll go where his opportunities are. You know they'll be back for summers, and maybe other breaks, but they both have high ambitions. I don't know if you're like Adrienne, but she's ALWAYS tried to solve a LOT of problems at one time. You have to bite them off in small pieces. I think this is good advice to you too, Chris @faerywingsyou can't solve solve ALL of the problems that are coming up in the next few years at once. I've preached this to my daughter for years and I don't know if she can change or not. OK, "Mom " is getting off her soapbox now. :giggle4::giggle4:

Kay @BrightEyes glad you got to talk to your DD, but hope she gets her voice back soon. Sounds like you're feeling better - good luck with running all of your errands. Has it cooled down for you yet? Probably not, because you're right next to us and it's miserable here.

Waving to everybody to come on here. HAGD I'm thankful today that Casey is cleaning. She is also cleaning out our refrigerator - yay - she does the best job!

Well, I am back from running errands. It is in the mid-80's and the sun is shining and very little clouds- so feels a lot hotter than that. I checked my BP before I left and it was "normal" - 128/76!!! Yea!!! So felt like I was okay to drive. Dropped the books off at library but didn't see any that caught my eye. Since I have a huge book collection I am sure I can find something to read... or re-read! :woohoo:goofysmile1:layonpillow:

I shouldn't go grocery shopping before eating... I was craving something sweet and ended up buying a peach praline pie that was on sale. I remembered to get some milk, too, along with grapes, apples, and a bag of coleslaw and a bag of salad mix with avocado dressing. I am also craving fried chicken - so may run over to KFC and pick up a meal.

@Cherylndesigns I hear you about the plants wilting from the heat and hardly any rain. Yes... the weeds are growing like mad. Glad you had a talk with Adrienne about stressing herself to the max.

@LSlycord - I know it is so hard when the kids start leaving the nest and parents realize that they may only be coming back for visits rather than living there. Of course, that doesn't mean that they might not 'boomerang' back for awhile. 4 of my 5 did that at various times.

@faerywings So glad that you didn't drop anything when cleaning that guy's place!!! Knives, swords, etc can be a hazard cleaning there!!

Are you all ready for Color Play tomorrow??? Love the colors this month.

Hmmmm.... The tummy is hollering to the brain that it wants fried chicken! Off to pick some up.

Yes, those ole' weeds never get scorched that's for sure. Darned those things, anyway. They're "growing like weeds". :giggle4: :giggle4: I just talked to Adrienne a minute ago and she took my advice and went and got a massage. She took a "mental health day" from work and was trying to organize her walk-in cupboard, but her back was hurting so bad. I told her to blow off cleaning and go get a massage. I told her to listen to "Dr. Mom".
